Oh no! Another dragon attack! Luckily, it's distracted by troops from another Kingdom, one unknown to your party. The soldiers are clad in light armor and even lighter clothing, seemingly from a warm location. The two are caught in a horrendous battle.
Do you help?

~Rowan~ "There used to be a point to everything, but since that day I can't seem to find myself caring about anything anymore. It's not because I don't want to, but because it's best if I don't." ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
Rowan was about fed up with everything when they encountered three flesh golems... something that made him audibly groan. He was clearly getting way too upset to deal with anything that was going on today. Sighing, he simply pulled out his blade and decided that he was going to carve them up and make this area camp for the night. After all, these creatures had probably scared off every other living creature within a mile of them by thrashing about. "Get into a safe place, alright?" He stated to Blake before rushing off towards the enemies, ready to bring an end to the day. After all, he was not prepared to stay up three or four more hours just to run in to five more dragons or whatever he was going to end up fighting. Approaching the creatures, he decided that it was best to incapacitate one for the time being and maybe turn it into an unwilling ally. As such, he set one of them on fire, the demonfire burning away at its flesh as it began flinging its arms wildly in pain. As a result, it began to hit the other two golems by accident and ended up burning them quite a bit too.
Meanwhile, Rowan teleported onto the first golem's shoulder and simply stared at its head, the creature creating any eye on the side of its head to stare back. As it reached up to grab, him, he teleported onto the other one's shoulder, getting it attention as well. The first flesh golem then punched the spot Rowan was standing on, knocking the other golem back. Rowan, however, had jumped and was running along its arm, using nightslayer and striking it with his blade multiple times to drain massive amounts of mana from the creature. "You're gonna need that mana when I'm done with these things. Don't worry though, I've got this." Rowan stated, ending the technique and strike the creature in the head. It began howling in pain as the other golem got back it is feet, enraged by its ally's betrayal. As such, it retaliated by punching it squarely in the face. It was not long before the two of them were fighting each other, trying to protect the shrine from the 'threat' they perceived as a rogue golem. Rowan, meanwhile, was hopping between the two of them and slashing chunks of flesh away.
It was not long before the two of them had weakened themselves very severely, bludgeoning each other to the point that their bodies were broken. By now the third one had burned away into it base components, a golem heart being left behind after its death. With the other two immobile, Rowan simply set fire to those two as well, burning away their body so that they would not regenerate while the two of them slept. Besides, they could make use of the golem hearts that composed the three of them. "That takes care of that. You can come out now, it's safe." He stated to Blake, turning his attention away from the burning creatures. "We'll set up camp around this place. I think it's a pretty good spot. Nothing that's lived here for a while is going to try and come this way if they've seen those golems." Rowan stated as the bear began to move towards him after he called it. Once it had reached him, Rowan simply pulled out some camping supplies and began to set everything up to camp for the night. He even began to roast the hog for the two of them.

Since one of your rolls was base: All you have to deal with is a Max-Level Encounter!
..That sounds a lot easier said than done.
As you move along, you hear the sounds of loud stomping and grunts coming from ahead of you. Getting closer to inspect the sound, you can see them through the trees: three massive stinking golems made of the flesh. Some you can tell is from people, other from animals. These are flesh golems, creatures created before a spirit is tied to them magically. They are monstrous beasts and seem to be guarding some type of shrine...Though no one in your party is quite sure what its to.
Will you fight them?

≎ 𝕭lake 𝕿rinity ≎ Ⓜⓐⓖⓔ Ah?! Rowan, you're way too cruel! Blake thought when the man gave the dire bear permission to throw the girl around. Not only was he willing to startle her for sport but also saying things like that... I'm really gunna go white early, aren't I? "You wouldn't hurt me, would ya, big guy?" she asked the animal in a hushed tone, smiling. The concept of riding a dire bear was cool enough, but actually doing it was another thing entire. Blake hadn't even ridden a horse before, so she wasn't sure if this was that fun or if she was getting tired, but the blonde had a hard time not laughing at just how crazy this was. Luckily, that meant she was all giggled out by the time her Knight sprung a trap. Even though he'd taken the opportunity to reprimand her for the same thing only a few hours earlier, she could tell that he was in no mood at this point. It'd probably be better not to press buttons. She'd planned on getting him down, but teleported out of the thing before it even made it to its destination. "Aye, aye," Blake murmured. He wasn't wrong to be upset, though. Unfortunately, the two of them hadn't been met with a whole lot of luck that day. Even now, they were trying to make up for lost ground.
"Are we going to head toward the mountains tomorrow then? I think it'd be cool to see them..." If Rowan was done searching the forest, then that was that. Perhaps that why they'd been having such a hard time. Maybe the place they were looking for wasn't even around here but in another location entirely. It's not like the forest was a small place, but Blake had only barely heard rumors about the one they were looking for... Given how vague, it might not even been around the woods at all. At that thought, the woman sighed. Does that mean we wasted the past few days?! A familiar roar hit Blake's ears as soon as they hit a clearing. Another dragon? There were a lot of soldiers fighting it, and she didn't quite recognize their uniforms. They were holding their own for now, but would they be able to last? Rowan could take it out rather quickly, but he didn't seem quite up for it given their current situation.
"A-Are you sure?" she couldn't help but keep her eyes on the battlefield, even after she'd lost direct sight of it as the young man led the bear away. "Do you think they'll be able to beat it, though?" A light sigh escaped her when he mentioned how their day had been going. "Maybe thing's'll look- Rowan?" Where did he go? She assumed he'd teleported, disappearing without a trace, but why? Blake waited for him to show back up, but it ended up taking a lot longer than she expected. Did he...go back? As soon as she came to this conclusion, he suddenly re-appeared, causing the green-hair girl to nearly jump out of her skin and almost fall off the dire bear. Of course he shows back up when I least expect it, why not? As Rowan grabbed the collar of the bear, once again leading them in the opposite direction, Blake couldn't help but to feel a little uneasy. Had he gone back to help those people? Her eyes settled on Gram for a moment, remembering what Cheyenne had said about the Armament back at her apartment. Would that even be hers anymore? [color=yellowgreen]"Maybe there's some form of communication between that Kingdom and Yuki no Okoku..." Should she bring it up? Blake didn't know the circumstances behind Rowan's choices and decided on not assuming. Besides, he was his own person and strong enough not to end up like the ones from before...
The golems were...weird. At Rowan's behest, Blake got off the bear and took the thing over into some decent cover. These things were...curious. She could even tell from here, as her Knight fought them, that they were made of flesh, some parts rotting, all put together like some haphazard jigsaw puzzle, but they weren't undead. They didn't give off that aura the young man they were fighting was, as if they went by different rules or something. She was lost in thought when some foreign mana surged through her like some sort of pick-me-up. The half-elf looked up just to see the purple fading from Rowan's sword. She smiled at his telling her not to worry. "Alright, I trust you," she murmured to herself, leaning back against the bear. It wasn't much longer after that the fight was over, the golems burning away, leaving behind objects the Mage had never seen before.
The bear moved before Blake did, causing her to stumble back to keep from falling before heading over to what was left of the scene. "Sounds nice. I was getting tired anyway. Want a chair?" She tried helping out with setting up camp for a little bit before making herself a stool out of hard plastic to sit by the fire, the boar cooking over it. "So what plans do you have with my mana?" Blake asked him with a grin. "Oh, and do you have any idea what dropped from those things? I've never even seen a golem, let alone heard of one made...like that." She'd thought of picking up one of the hearts but was a little curious about the repercussions from touching it would be.

~Rowan~ "There used to be a point to everything, but since that day I can't seem to find myself caring about anything anymore. "Yeah, we're going to the mountains tomorrow. I don't think I can stand much more of this forest without absolutely destroying a section of it." Rowan stated, obviously not really content with spending any more time in this horrid place. "You can take the lead as well. Maybe then we'll be able to find something for once." He added a bit bitterly, wanting nothing more than to forget this day had ever happened. After all, the entire day had been nothing but a series of fights, multiple dragons, and it ended with a fight between three incredibly powerful creatures. Rowan was just lucky that golems were incredibly dimwitted creatures following a basic instinct to protect whatever it is they are guarding. As such, they were relatively easy to take down once they started perceiving each other as threats. Not to mention they were made out of flesh, which was probably a flaw in their creation from the beginning. Everyone knows that when a person makes a golem it should be made of stone or some other incredibly tough material. Otherwise, they are too easy to pull apart when they are made from anything else, especially flesh.
Once Blake asked him what his plans were for her mana, the young man simply rubbed the back of his neck and turned his attention towards her once again. "Plans? I thought it was going to be obvious. I don't need a target to use that ability or surpass my limits. I'm going to destroy my body one more time today, that way you can use that mana I got you to regenerate my body. We need to abuse the fact that it destroys my body as long as it continues to destroy it." Rowan simply went back to cooking the food for the two of them, obviously content with the explanation he had given to the young elf woman. She seemed to worry a bit too much about him, so he was hoping that she would not be thinking too much about him going through that excruciating pain over and over again. After all, the one thing she could not heal was the incredible amounts of pain that coursed through his body during the time it took her to heal him. If I don't do it though.... then I'll never get the strength I need. I can already feel my body strengthening just have using it once. Eventually it'll stop working though. I'll deal with that when the time comes though. Rowan contemplated, carefully watching the boar so that he did not burn it.
When Blake asked him what the golems had dropped, Rowan merely looked at her for a few moments in slight disbelief. Did she really not know the properties of golems despite being a Mage? Soldiers learned information like that to prepare them for fights and such... but something of such high magical quality should be common for most Mages, especially ones that practice necromancy and conjuration. "Those are golem hearts. Every golem has a heart in the center of it that serves as its core. Essentially, everything that makes it up is bound by that core. Whether it's rocks, flesh, or even just wood, there is usually a stone or object of some sort that is its heart. By enchanting the heart, someone can create a golem if they want to." Rowan explained to Blake, turning his attention towards the burning creatures. They were almost finished being burned away, which meant the hearts were there for the taking about this time. "Usually, you have to destroy those to prevent a golem from reforming. But... since they're flesh golems, there's nothing around here to really make up their bodies anymore. Because of that, we could take those hearts if we wanted to. I also absorved a good bit of the magic holding it together when I used my mana absorption technique." Rowan explained, trying to get her to understand how they were incapacitated.
"Anyway, you should probably gather those up and use them if you can. Given your abilities, it'd be pretty easy for you to make a golem or something out of them. I don't know. I'm not a Mage, and I don't know every single way to use the things." Rowan explained, rubbing his neck a bit more as the boar finished cooking. He quickly pulled it from the fire and started carving it up for the three of them to eat. "Here, the boar might taste pretty good." He stated, taking a chunk of the boar and handing it to Blake to eat. Once she took the boar's meat, he would carve a much larger chunk off and throw it towards the bear for it to eat. Finally, he would carve a large piece out of it for himself and begin eating the boar. "It's not terrible... but it's definitely not very good. Maybe I didn't cook it right or something." Rowan stated, obviously discontent with the taste of the meat. He was not an expert cook or anything, so that was probably the cause of it not tasting the best in the world. "Either way... with three of those hearts, you could probably make something rather interesting. It's not every day that you get a bunch of materials like that." Rowan explained as he continued to eat the terrible meat.

≎ 𝕭lake 𝕿rinity ≎ Ⓜⓐⓖⓔ Blake had a feeling that the extra mana was for another healing spell, and he'd sapped more than enough for her to complete the spell again. As he'd said, it was pretty obvious, but she wanted to be sure. She yawned. Would he be okay would doing it more than once a day? It would increase progress, sure, but how much pain did it actually cause him? While the young man cooked, she played around with some adamantine. It was...surprisingly difficult. Usually materials lent themselves to this spell quite well, but this one was stubborn. Even while she tried to keep it unstable, it only held that way for a few moments before freezing into a solid mess. After a little bit of that, Blake pushed the scraps off to the side with her foot.
"I don't know. Mom had mentioned golems, but I don't think she took a particular interest in them. I don't know why... maybe it was to save face in the capitol. People are already wary enough when it comes to necromancy, so having around something like that all the time... She might've thought against it or something in case it scared people off. Although... I don't mind the concept." Blake thought about it. Given that she could create most things, it'd be easy enough to make a vessel for one of those, though perhaps something a little more subtle than corpses. How would one go about attaching the heart to the vessel though? It'd definitely be an interesting project. "Yeah, I'll have to look into it," Blake enthused, scratching the back of her head nervously. "Don't let me forget, and I'll pick up a book on them at the next town we stop at or something. Oh- thanks," she added, taking the boar meat the Knight had cooked. It was...okay. At least, that's what Blake kept telling herself.
"I don't think it was you. It may just be the natural qualities of the meat... I've never had boar before. On the bright side, it's still a lot better than trail rations," the half-elf stated before taking another bite. "If you want, though, we can alternate cooking. I mean, I liked doing it at home, and I wanna help out, so if you're cool with it..." She shrugged. After she was done eating, Blake made some glass cases for the hearts, not entirely sure what to do with them for now, but at least they had something safe to sit in. "Soooo," the girl started, placing the cases in one of the bags of the bear. She wasn't really sure how to go about approaching this. Rowan was literally tearing himself to shreds just to prepare fighting this woman, willing to go through agonizing pain in hopes of being able to face his murderer. For a brief moment, the thought made her expression darken. It's probably nothing compared to what she did to him... "You up for some training?" She wiggled her fingers in front of her with a smile. he told her his plans exactly, and though the woman was still getting somewhat used to the idea, she didn't plan on holding his progression back. It'd only be a moment before she could heal him anyway, nothing to worry about.

"As long as you find some sort of use for them, it's alright. I just don't want that stuff to go to waste. Even I can recognize high-quality materials like that. Not that I could do anything with them if I wanted." Rowan commented, taking another big bite of the boar that he was eating. Even if it was not that great, the two of them had not eaten for almost ten hours, and Rowan was pretty much starved out of his mind. He probably could have eaten a shoe or something much worse without ever noticing how terrible it tasted. "Just try your best not to spend all of the gold we made on a book. Know your prices. A book like that wouldn't be more than a few hundred gold, if that. Just because we need one, it doesn't mean you need to go and get yourself ripped of by some peddler." Rowan stated, warning Blake against going out and buying something like that without thinking about the price of the object. While he did figure she was competent enough to make good decisions, he was not sure if she was used to traveling to different kingdoms and making deals with the natives.
"You can cook if you want to. To be honest, that's probably the better idea. You have a lot more practice with it than I do. All I know how to do is roast things over a fire... and nothing more than that." Rowan stated, cracking his neck a little bit as he stared at his companion. "Just be careful about using spices. Every time we cook we risk monsters showing up or other creatures. Spices though... they cause them to be a bit more frequent. The scent causes it." Rowan stated, informing the woman that using spices would raise the chance of monsters showing up to try and fight them or steal their food. "Don't worry though. I'm sure you can use a few of them without risking too much. Just try your best to keep it to a minimum if you can." Rowan stated, standing up and beginning to stretch a little bit. He needed to destroy his body at least one more time before he went to sleep... otherwise finding that woman would be pointless. He knew this was going to hurt quite a bit though... and there was a bit of him wondering whether or not he would be able to keep awake if he destroyed all of his muscles again.
"Just be quiet and let me do this." Rowan stated to Blake when she asked him if he was ready to train. "This isn't even training... it's just hurting myself really bad over and over again." Rowan muttered to himself, finding it quite different from what raining was actually supposed to be. Alright... let's get this over with. I'm already pretty worn out... I don't want to put this off any longer. Rowan thought to himself, sighing a little bit as he brandished Balmung with Gram once again. Readying himself, he quickly used the technique once more, obliterating all of his muscles yet again. The pain, however, was a bit too much for him at this point, causing him to gasp in pain and fall to the ground. "Too... painful... I don't think.... I'll..." He never finished his sentence, having passed out from the pain he caused himself. Maybe if he had not been as tired as he was, he might have been able to endure it a bit better. With the weariness he was feeling, however, Rowan was unable to keep awake. Shortly after using the technique, Rowan passed out due to the pain.

≎ 𝕭lake 𝕿rinity ≎ Ⓜⓐⓖⓔ Blake had just nodded at the man's suggestion of keeping an eye out for prices. Eheheh, you talk like I don't make my own. Given that her job was commission-based, nothing had set prices, and different services yielded different outcomes. Funeral services were normally expensive in the first place, and many people were quick to try to get as big a discount as possible. She was not new to the game of haggling. Perhaps the concept of making money off of the dead was strange in the first place, so making sure you didn't get swindled by people who were morning was a little...morbid.
When Rowan said that she'd have to be careful when it came to spices, it was a little disheartening but it made sense enough. If food smelled better, more things would be enticed to find it. "Spices to a minimum, go it." It'd be nice to be able to contribute a little bit more to the trip, though she wasn't quite sure on taking the lead into the mountains. At least Rowan had been there before Maybe him watching the back would serve them better anyway. He seemed ready to use that dragon-slayer technique, telling her to essentially back off. She just raised her hands, palms out, and backed up out of the way.
"Rowan? Hey!" No, no, no, no. Don't you pass out on me! Maybe twice a day was way too much, or the exhaustion was getting to him. The half-elf moved a little too quickly when starting the spell, causing a wasteful burst of mana, but the Knight was already out cold. The healing would work all the same, but Blake wasn't too sure how he'd fair waking up in the morning. Shock was a hell of a thing. She could only sigh as the golden light enveloped and fade from the man's body after a couple minutes. "Phew, that takes way too much mana. What am I supposed to do with you?" She couldn't just leave him there... This wasn't the first time she had to move a dead-weight body. It was time to get creative. Blake made a sheet out of synthetic fabric before rolling Rowan onto it. This made it significantly easier to get him over to his bedroll. Making a blanket for each of him, she covered him up before moving to her own sleeping spot. You're a piece of work...you know that?

~Rowan "Darkness, light. Justice, Corruption. The line's been blurred so much recently... that I don't know what to believe in anymore..." ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
What is this... darkness? It feels like it's swallowed me whole. There's nothing... just nothing anymore. This isn't like the first time... it's not like when I died. This is... different for sure. But... why'd I die this time? It was for nothing, wasn't it? I didn't make a difference... I didn't save anyone. They all died anyway, didn't they? I... let them all die. It was as if Rowan was simply floating in a sea of consciousness, unable to move or anything of the sort. He could see nothing, hear nothing, and he could not even speak at all. If there was just one thing... one thing I'd ever want. I want to see them again... to see her again... It felt like something was burning in Rowan's chest, eradicating his entire being as he was being pulled apart. This.... now this feels familiar. This was just like his first death, being eviscerated by the enemy, by Natalia. To think, she had been the death of him twice now... although under different circumstances. Now as not the time for that, however. Now was the time for something else, someone else to be born. No, it was time for Rowan to be reborn.
The young man's eyes snapped open, their golden irises shining brightly as the looked out over the dragon nest Rowan had awoken in. Just... where was he? The trees looked familiar, and the terrain had a certain feeling of homeliness to it. The sky... however... was far more blue than before. What the... how is this... possible? He thought to himself, picking his body up off the ground as he looked around himself. There he was, in the middle of a dragon nest filled with baby dragons, one adult. Yet... they were not afraid of him? No, they were baring their fangs and seemed rather ready to fight him. "Go... AWAY!!!!" Rowan bellowed out, staggering a bit before he roared out the final part of his command. It was then that the fear overtook the creatures, and they quickly picked themselves up and began to scatter away from him, much faster than any dragon had before now. That... was definitely different... Rowan muttered to himself, unsure about how to react to what was going on. His body... it felt different. Unfortunately, there was no water source nearby to look at himself properly.
This looks like the forest that surrounds Carmillion. Maybe... maybe I did managed to help everyone. If that's the case... then maybe I should head towards the capital. First... I gotta find out where that is. Rowan thought to himself, unsure about how to proceed with his current situation. After a few seconds, he simply closed his eyes and focused. There, that's south. He thought to himself, looking towards south now after using his third eye ability. Slowly, he began to make his way towards where he believed Carmillion was. Additionally, he began to examine his own body and how it had changed. There was... armor speckled across him... and both his arms were now covered with gauntlets. Just... what was going on with his body? The young man also seemed more lean and made of muscle. Everything feels so different. He thought to himself, unsure about how he should react to the current situation. Another odd note was that he did not feel intense, murderous inclinations to assault the dragons from earlier.

OH SNAP! We're back! I was sent by a cow to be your guide! Hang on, I have to find this god awful list... Okay! It looks like you've stumbled into a Dragon's Nest! Several dragons seem to be guarding their food: six young and one adult. Please do be careful. These creatures aren't to be trifled with!

(Rowan's going to ignore that, yeah. He'll just keep walking most likely. So I'm just going to move to the next post so that I don't write a huge post about him ignoring a large structure that he describes in detail.)

Congratulations! You found a very high level dungeon! Going through will be hard, but you'll get some sweet gear. Though... you don't enjoy these much, huh? Anyway, all you can see of the mouth of a huge cave with relic-looking statues on either side of the entrance.

As Rowan stumbled through the forest, he found himself caught up in a trap of sorts. It opened up below him and dropped him into the middle of a large, dungeon-like area filled with creatures of all shapes and sizes. "What the... what the heck is this?" Rowan muttered to himself, getting up from the ground as he began to look around at the cavern filled with creatures. It was... a rather unique experience. "There's so many of them..." He muttered to himself, looking around and around at the animals until his eyes caught sight of something interesting. It was... Blake... and Natalia. They were both standing not too far away from a large, skeletal whale of sorts. "You're both... safe? I didn't mess it up?" He stated to himself, walking towards the two women with a rather surprised look on his face. For the most part, his trip had been pretty dull. Gram had not spoken a word since Rowan had woken up, despite the fact that he had encountered dragons and had passed on a dungeon. Usually he would get some witty remark or a complaint for either of those actions.
As he began to walk towards the two women, he felt his feet start to sink into something. Looking down, he saw that the ground below him was beginning to turn into a mesh of grass and mud. "The hell?" He complained, trying to struggle through it to reach the other two. The more he struggled, however, the more he was pulled into whatever it was that he was trying to walk through. "No... no! I have to see them! I have to get to them! Why aren't they saying anything?!" Rowan complained, trying his best to pull his body forward to exit the swamp-like barrier that was now forming between him and Blake. "Blake!" He called out to the woman, trying to reach out as the swamp finally swallowed him whole. Sinking into the darkness, the young man could not help but feel he had been wronged, that something was amiss. There was no way the world could be so cruel... so cold. What was going on? He could not longer talker... he could no longer breath. And before he knew it... the young man found himself waking up once again.
His eyes snapped open, staring at the pavement of a road... something he had never seen in all of his life. Wide-eyed, he slowly pulled himself from the ground as he began to look around. There were so many lights... and there were people walking along the streets not too far away. He was... between some buildings? What were these metal contraptions that lined the alleyways? Confusion, that was something that was heavy on his mind. Without any clue as to where he was, the young man simply stumbled out onto the sidewalk, shirtless and rather angry-looking. Many people turned to look at him, both offended and slightly frightened. It was probably the pointy ears... and the yellow eyes. Everyone around him seemed to look pretty different from him, down the the bone structure of their faces. This is... what is this? He thought to himself, looking around at all of the people. That was when he noticed a child in the street, having lost control of a ball. At first, he thought nothing of it... until he saw some large construct moving at a high speed towards them.
Almost instinctively, his body kicked in and he moved in front of the child in a blur. Before anyone had time to react, he was there and smashing his foot into the hood of the car, causing it to flip over both of them and tumble through the streets behind him. As the car skidded through the street, Rowan simply turned to look at the child, unaware of how much damage he had probably caused around him by his carelessness. A few people on the streets had pulled out phones to record what was happening, visibly terrified by the presence of the young man. Rowan, however, simply looked around him, staring at all the frightened faces. "I'm... I have to... find her." He managed to mutter before simply disappearing, having teleported away from the scene.
(And now we will pick up three months later.)
