'Almost wish I had that costume Ellie gave me..' she thought quietly, before seeing yet another demon appearing before her. A...strange, green one.
"Do you wish to fight?" she called, her hand gripping on the handle of her weapon. "Or...would you rather submit, without a confrontation?"
There was a few silent moments, as she silently drew her blade, slashing a demon that had been creeping up on her....and sheathed her blade all in the same stroke.
"Join me..or not. That is your call." she replied, starting away at this. The suit did a good job of showing she meant Business....But, her blade was able to speak even louder than it, cleaving her foes in twain.
Yet, as she came to another foe, she merely glared up at it....Staring it down.

Demons, circled around her in a horde.
"I'm gonna be mad if you mess up my suit." she called, dusting it off..As she fell into a stance. Okuninushi, and Phantom went to work at this, covering her flanks as she scoured about, slashing, sheathing, dodging, and bashing at the demons in turn.
It was a tough encounter...But, aside from a few tokens...She felt no worse for wear. In fact...

Youmu KonpakuYoumu crossed over a slightly broken bridge..Pacing to see a demon that was holding it's blade high.'Heahahaaha! And to think, these humans think they can match ME! It's almost sad as I watch the life leave their eyes..and their bodies fall coldly..to the ground."Youmu cleared her throat loudly at this, the demon turning around. The demon turned at this...and she gasped, seeing a litter of corpses...In segments ....
'Those Rioters.. she thought.....recognizing them from all of the times they'd messed with her. They were always put in their place, but never killed...
Until..."Ohhh, and now there's just this little girl? Really...I was going to go on a diet..but with a Dessert like this.."Youmu didn't speak at this...
She couldn't...Not without crying. They were unpleasant people, but it seemed like only a short while ago she saw them in Troittown, enjoying the food, and having turned over a new leaf. She had been so cold...But, they had changed...And now..."What wrong, girlie? You scared? That's okay..I'll make it quick."Her eyes went wide at this..And, before she could stop herself...A surge of energy flowed through her. Righteous, vicious fury....The likes of which she'd never felt before. A demon was assisting her...But, she didn't need it's power..
Not as she was.
"Micheal!" she called, forgoing her own honor of using demons at a smaller level....In the sake of taking revenge. A flurry of strikes bisected the demon before it could even fight back...And, as he staggered to the ground...
She planted her blade in it's skull, twisting it to ensure the enemy's defeat. Eventually, she came down from the air of fury...And lightly slumped.
"Ugh....Those guys.."
They were dead....No two ways about it. In so many pieces...Blood sprayed about...
This demon wasn't toying with them...he was going for the kill. But, now he was dead...and she could feel strength welling inside of her.
"I'll...I'll have to be stronger. To change our world back...So this never happens again."

The girl had finally calmed herself, drawing out only Phantom this time to aid her in the struggle, as she looked at her blade.
"I'm strong...But I need to be stronger." she called to herself, flicking the blade downwards. She kept her wits as sharp as her blade, cleaving through demon after demon..time after time...As she started to go through the motions.

As, when she paced around the area...Another group of demons had appeared..and suddenly bowed before her.
"Huh.." she sounded quietly, looking around. They weren't bowing at something behind her...But...it was actually her.
"It's...interesting.." she thought, as she moved over...Looking down at one of the demons. A..woman on fire? As Youmu approached..The demon looked up to her...and held out her hand.
Youmu hesitantly placed her hand in the demons..feeling her flames start to surge in her heart...inspiring her....Pushing her along.
And, she'd recruited yet another demon, from her reputation alone.

Youmu KonpakuYoumu eventually left the building that Beelzebub had been targeting her near...and started to make her way around the area...Returning to Troitown.
"I'm going to have to be careful...I don't want anything to happen to me, or anyone else before we can fix what's been going on."
Thoughts raced to her mind..of everyone she'd met. From her classmates, to the seniors....To the Demon slayer, to even the Demi-fiend girl. Yet, as she crossed through an intersection...She saw someone she'd never seen before. A figure with a cold, icy stare...And a serious expression. He had a fierce, wolfish gaze about him...Looking her over...and starting to walk by her without a second thought.
"You're not strong enough for this war.." he called simply, his shoulders brushing against hers. "You don't have the Resolve...The drive to Kill. And in this battlefield..There is no peace..There is only room for one winner...And it will not be you."
Cold words stung more than any bug could...As Youmu hesitated to say anything back. The way he spoke casually of the war...Of how he assessed her without a thought..and he picked apart a weakness she had... No doubt about it.
He was a formidable foe. Yet, as the girl continued to walk along, clenching her fist....She couldn't muster the words. But..
'I'l...Show him.' she thought, firmly. 'I'll show him my Resolve!'

She had been designated a foe....Almost immediately after her encounter with the cold man. One she learned, was the Wolf of Ragnarok, and a son of the Trickster God..
"Fenrir...."
The girl had avoided a fight with him as it was, but with Obelyn's timing, she was sent to take care of one of his lessers. Yet, as she looked around for any kind of security...For any kind of other counter-attack...She found nothing. As if..
'Is he testing me?' she thought quietly, sheathing her blade as she escaped the area. He had just mentioned how she didn't have the resolve, and she was proving she could fight....
But, was that what he wanted? Did he just want to see her fight? To see her...Kill?
'I don't know..'

"Maybe I'm not cut out for this..""Not with that attitude, Ronin."The girl didn't know where he'd come from...But, in moments her hand was at her blade, ready to strike. Her eyes glanced to and fro...before finding the source...The white haired demon slayer biting at a pizza slice as what seemed to be the norm."If you're gonna be all mopey, at least do the decency of actually losing first. Don't just give up without a fight. Otherwise, all that trust in you is misplaced.""Trust..?"
She closed her eyes, thinking of her friends. Of the people she'd saved..and of how she'd been saved. While she wasn't strong enough to take this thing on by herself...Nobody really was. And yet, thinking of each of them....
Of how they all helped her..and how she helped them in turn...It helped her feel stronger...bit by bit.
"You're right...I can't quit now." she called, standing firm. "I'm going to do it..I'm going to help end this war.. Thank you..Dante."The cool demon hunter merely continued eating at his Pizza, stretching out into the light of the Kagatsuhi.

"Perfect.."
Another chance for her to prove her worth. The girl drew her blade at this, closing her eyes...And listening...Feeling the air.
'Two to my right...one on the left...' she thought...Letting the shifts in the air...the repulsive scents of their bodies fill her nose.
She had amazing reflexes...But, she would need to have even greater ones. Even greater focus....
And, as she felt them approaching...She struck....Bringing her blade across it's shoulder, and down into the other one's thigh. A clean cut...Sparing them no mercy as she tore through their bodies.
Her eyes opened at last, sheathing her blade. Her allies handled the rest of the horde as she knelt down....letting out a held breath.
"I've still a ways to go.."

That was the area around her, even as the demon was making it's way towards her. She was closing herself off to all visual stimuli...And letting her other senses do the work..Thum....Thum..Thum..The demon was getting closer..preparing his attack.Thum...Thum..Thum..She had to wait...Just a few moments longer. Step..by step..She let the demon draw closer....her own senses perking up. Yet, as he took the last step..a voice seemed to call out to her in her head....Signalling her.
NOW!
She lashed forth with her blade, cleaving the demon in two....Radiating a small glow. A demon had been aiding her....And had decided to test her with the fight. A strike, where she couldn't use her eyes...
Where the rest of her body would have to make up for it...And she passed.
"I thank you..Futomimi." she called to the wise man, who nodded."I had no doubts." he called, bowing. "I wish to see how far your path takes you. Please..permit me entry into your team...Legendary Ronin.""Konpaku. My name's Youmu Konpaku. Not 'Legendary Ronin.'"
The demon nodded, and tapped at her phone, disappearing into the magatsuhi. She had another ally...and even more faith in herself. She was getting strong...
All over again.
