Ygraine
Post 2

Ugh! They were both so mean sometimes! Grumpy with her baba, Ygraine whined and shot a glare at her brother, puffing out her cheeks in her displeasure. They always did whatever Sol wanted! It was because he was a big baby, and had cried when their parents told them they were coming to Oba. Why couldn't he have stayed home with their grandmas, if he was going to ruin the fun?

Just as he was too stubborn to go watch performers, despite Ygraine's growing interest in the games was hidden by her own grumpiness. "Hah! That's what you think-- !! Papa!" Jumping up as soon as she saw her father, Ygraine toddled forward a few steps before the train of her ribbon caught against Nimueh's arm. Raising her hands for her papa, Ygraine followed him as he closed in on Nimueh, crowding close until she bumped into him and he couldn't possibly ignore her.

"Papa, they won't let me see the dancers... I wanna see them, please?" Even though Nimueh had just told her no, she hoped the father she took after would agree before he could interrupt. She held her arms up impatiently for him to pick her up, because if she dropped them even for a second Sol could slip in and get cuddles instead - he always stole papa from her!

Nimueh
Post 2

There were times that Nimueh wished his children weren't so competitive with each other, or at least didn't fight so much! Sighing softly as they butt heads over games, he glanced over the crowd suspiciously, unhappy with how crowded it was. Thankfully, as tournament fights were now underway, a good portion of the crowds were siphoning off towards the arenas. He wanted to watch Callum's fight to support him, but at the same time he didn't want to have their children exposed to the violence - not to shelter them, per se, but because it wouldn't be pleasant for them to watch their father fighting and potentially being injured.

He didn't see Callum approaching until Ygraine called out for him, at which point he perked up and swung around, beaming in relief as his smaller partner came bounding up to them.

Even as Ygraine bounded to him, cutting Nimueh off from a proper embrace, he was able to lean in and kiss him in greeting, before leaning back to let the two little ones crowd around Callum in greeting. He slackened the ribbon for Ygraine, just incase Callum picked her up, and held it at the ready to pass over. "Ygraine..." He called, frowning at her, but he didn't correct her further. "Dancers or games, we're still deciding." He filled in, smiling at the sight of his family all together.

Shalvesta
Post 1

It was strange to see so many foreigners here in Oba, and yet at the same time it was a kind of relief. Ten years had passed since the war, but after floating from tavern to tavern, and seeing the sometimes harsh greetings passed out to foreigners, it was really something to see so many different peoples mixing together for what was just innocent fun. With her hand propped against the hilt of her sword, Shalvesta watched the crowds, thoughtfully, her lips pursed at the myriad of faces.

Bar fights and mingling with rougher, more violent crowds had left her wary of such a mass of people, expecting some sort of brawl to arise at any given moment, but it seemed as if the violence in the arena was enough to quench any blood lust, and for now the tournament was proceeding without any outward issues.

There were faces here, occasional flashes that Shalvesta almost remembered. A pale face and blonde hair that reminded her of the wind earthling that had healed her on the battlefield... a set of eyes that haunted her, a shade too similar to Mash'al's. A face that- wait a moment.

There was a woman across the field, by a line of concession stands, speaking with what looked from here to be a shifter woman, despite the dark color of her hair. But the Oban woman... that was...

Naevius. Nowadays she was a princess, wasn't she? Distantly, Shalvesta remembered their conversation back on the battlefront, settled in a tent at the Oban camp. The admission that she was a beast tamer, and her offer to help. Over the past decade Shalvesta had thought of her rarely, but often she forgot about that first meeting... and instead all she could think about was how the war had been lost. Naevius had been kidnapped, taken hostage by escaped northerners, and Shalvesta had been helpless to stop it. If that hadn't happened, the new king never would have surrendered and... and...

And what? Over the past few years, Naevius had always been a guilty memory on her conscience, but there she was, happy and healthy and chatting with a foreigner. In retrospect, Shalvesta wished she had sought her out and been the friend that Naevius had asked her to be, instead of withdrawing and hiding herself in the underbelly of Sulburi for the past ten years. Inhaling sharply, the swordswoman took a few steps towards her, but then stopped and shook her head. She was having a pleasant enough conversation, and any company Shalvesta could offer was ten years too late. Deciding against it, she took a step away, but continued to watch, just for a moment, just to soothe her own whirling thoughts.

Uquin
Post 1

It had taken years of begging but, with the tournament going on, Uquin really had no reason to continue denying Padma this excursion. However, after his embarassing loss in the tournament, Uquin was unapologetically grumpy, and even his peppy daughter couldn't perk him back up. His own abilities had numbed the sting of the whip slashes well enough, but when he heard a voice calling out for salves, he looked towards it, and finally detoured, unable to sate his own curiosity. Initially, he thought it was an Oban booth - and, in that case, the chance to sample foreign techniques had been enough to tempt him. But at seeing a shifter woman behind the table, he frowned, disappointed.

Be that as it may, if she was here it would still be a good idea to sample her wares. "What would you recommend for wounds from a whip?" He asked, his voice coming out gruff. It didn't seem like he was asking her so much as quizzing her. She was, after all, a younger healer, and he wondered if she had skills he didn't that he could learn from.

Folding his arms, the auburn-haired leaf earthling waited impatiently.

Padma
Post 1

Padma didn't know what she had been thinking. All this time, with her father's skill at healing, she had nursed the idea that he was an impressive fighter, and that in the ring he would decimate his opponents with his magic. In reality, either because of bad luck or because he was a physician, not a battle-trained healer, Uquin had lost. He had lost so horribly and so quickly that he had descended into a land of prideful pouting, and Padma had known to avoid any mention of the fight or else be subjected to his unhappy grumbling.

When he suddenly veered away, Padma turned and quickly tried to follow - only to bump into someone, hard, in her haste to catch up. "Oof-- I'm so sorry!" She yelped, hands held infront of her, shooting them her most innocent smile.

[Anyone want her to bump into them? It's ok if not, she can keep moving ]

Aayanna Post 3

She nodded with a smile. She hadn't seen any of the exiles herself, but she had heard of others running into them. She was happy she hadn't, especially since she had heard more then one horror stories about them. "Imagine if more of them came. I'm not even sure if the island could contain the ones here, and I'm sure there are more out there..." How many more she wondered.

When asked about why she came Aayanna smiled brightly. "I intend to come over here again, to teach the mainlanders the ways of the God and Goddess. I'd like to help enlighten them." Not everyone agreed with this, but it was her calling and she wasn't afraid to talk about it.

Ziel
Post 3

“Well, she’s with father and well…” Ziel shrugged. “I did, she knew I was going out to find Masika.” She didn’t know that V’demhe was going to be here; otherwise her mother probably would have come to speak to her. “I can tell you where she is though if you want.” Ziel turned and squinted a bit before pointing. “Right there,” Unbeknownst to her, it was probably not all too clear where exactly she was pointing or if she was even pointing at Alassiel. “Have fun!” She called when V’demhe left to go for her match.

“Interesting stuff!” Ziel said, “so how’s everyone?”

Alassiel
Post 3

“I wonder where Ziel ran off to,” Alasiel said as she looked around.

“I’m sure she found Masika, you don’t need to worry.” Z’ran squeezed his wife’s hand gently.

“I know, I know,” she frets lightly. Still, she wanted to know where her daughter was at. There were a lot of people here and well; she just didn’t feel completely safe with her Hybrid daughter just walking around. “I’m just going to go take a walk around and see if I can’t find her.”

Z’ran chuckled. “You worry far too much about her.”

And she did worry about her daughter and that was because she felt Ziel was far too open with others.

Karothdra
Post 3

Even with all the looking, Karothdra was unable to find Nera. She didn’t fully give up on looking for the white haired noble, but she did give it a small break to go to one of the food stands and pick up some meat on a stick. She didn’t want to eat something too big or greasy as to not hinder her stomach in the upcoming rounds, so this little fire cooked lizard would be the perfect thing. So, lizard in hand, Karothdra went off again into the crowd to look for Nera. She couldn’t have run off too far.

Niadra Post 3

Phaedra? She had to think for a second on the name, but after some thought she shook her head. "No, I do not know a Phaedra. But I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has sought you out. That means my eyes don't device me. I traveled with a troupe for many years, so I'm often pretty good at picking out a worthy merchant from the crowd."

She nodded. "I'd love that, any kind of spices that aren't from Tale I'd love to have." She said laughing. Nyiim loved her food, at least he said he did, but if she could bring him something different she was sure he would've be very happy.

Solari
Post 3

Solari headed right for the infirmary where the other combatants were. Some had extensive injuries, others did not. For her part, she simply wanted to disinfect some of the wounds and patch herself up. So without waiting for a nurse, Sol found the appropriate herbs and got to work on her wounds. She bit back a yelp of pain from the sting of the open wound mixing with the plants before bandaging the whole thing up. A nurse stopped by asking if she needed and help, which she declined and sent her on her way. There were others with much more pressing injuries than her own.

Aseara
Post 3

“I wish you luck then,” Aseara said as a large smile grew on her face. She gave Itotia a sideways glance, eyebrows shifting up and then down. Oh she simply could not wait to prey all the details out of Itotia on this one. For starters, where had she met him and how long had they known each other. At least he seemed very polite and well put together, but it was the fact that he was a Shifter and not another Yaelian that really got Aseara curious. How long had it taken for them to warm up to each other? Quite a while if she remembered correctly, so she wondered how she’d befriended the Shifter so quickly and what was his secret.

Ilyra Post 3

She squeezed Dya's hand when her sister touched her hand. It was hard for her to remember sometimes that Dyakida was blind. She was just so talented and capable, nothing like you would assume a blind person to be. "That's true. I'll come after my fights, to help with all the customers." She said with a nod. It was always good to have an extra set of hands, plus then she could keep an eye out for any thieves.

"Actually I think mom might be fighting... Or at least soon. There are quite a few sisters, and all of them have your weapons. From the little I've seen they've been killing it." she said proudly. She was always happy with her sisters won, and even more so when they were using weapons made by Dya.

"In a little while. I'm eager to do so though. I think I can do win."

Draven
Post 3

Draven gave a grin as the younger hybrid took a bite from the sweet cake before taking it from his hand to devour it. "Just leave me my fingers." Draven teased before he eyed the young prentice that was considered a sister to him. Dem had taken him in when traveling, not even listening to his nonsense about sleeping out in the wild when she offered him a roof and a meal. He couldn't really say no, as much as he had wanted to. "I had to get Regale settled outside, I don't think you would want the large Janarim sitting here scaring everyone out of their wits." While it would have been a comfort to keep Regale close, in a place like this it was best he stayed at a distance.

When Masika introduced him to one of her friends he nodded before sitting back to much on one of the other cake he had picked up. He watched Dem leave for hre match, his was listed after hers with someone on his own tier. From the shadows of his hair, the dark green and ruby eyed Keldari poked her head out and licked at the air. Raising herself up a bit, She reached forward to peer around, her tail still coiled around Draven's arm and over his shoulders.

"Masika, when it's my turn to compete, you will have to watch Nile." Draven said as he rubbed his hand down the trembling coils, the Keldari easing into the noise and sights. The movements of others making her a little uneasy. Draven now thinking it would have been best to leave her with Regale, but this would be good for her, the Keldari couldn't stay in the saddle bag forever. "If anything she will just coil up in your lap and sleep. She was fed earlier so she didn't stress too much and throw it back up."

Itotia Post 3

She didn't really react much to his response, but she felt a slight urge to smile a bit at his behavior. For some reason, she never really noticed how modest he was until this moment, mostly because he seemed so insistent to get into her space and become a semblance of a friend. Was she so blinded by her unnecessary fear of mainlanders that she didn't realize such behavior. Itotia took a moment to look at Kresimir in an entire new light, before catching Aseara's look. Any sort of hint of a smile fell as she eyed Aseara's expression with a bit of trepidation.

Oh great, just what she needed, a curious party.

Turning back toward Kresimir, she nodded slowly, "I am sure you will do just fine, and I wish you luck in the tourney."

It was simple without much fanfare, but it was much more than the slight hostility she greeted him with last time, and it was clear she considered him more than a stranger (which she most likely would have ignored).
