It was...interesting to see a promotion, let alone one that came directly from Metallia. Huntite watched as the Lieutenant became a Captain then looked over at Benitoite when he spoke up. After a warning like that he would have to look into the Rift more and learn about it clearly. The Lieutenant gave a nod at the order to stick close, already having planned on it so it wasn't a hard ship to follow. As they were moving over to the area they were meant to gather before setting out, a furry missile caught his eye in time for his arms to come up and catch Katya. He absentmindedly gave her a few ear scratches before realizing that might not have been the polite thing to do to a Guardian and lifted her so she could climb to his shoulders if she wished.

CAPTAIN PROUSTITE
"Ow," Proustite winced as Moonstone's captive, leaning towards her and sideways to lessen the pain of the yank at his ear. She was shorter than he was, but not by much, and the bend in his spine compensated for that distance to give him a sort of crippled look.
'You are going to the Rift to serve Metallia as you've been ordered.'
"Really, I think I'd be more useful above ground. You know- ow, ow, ow, ow, ow."
He went where she led like a dog on a leash, wincing all the while, arms stuck out awkwardly at his sides around the same time Tourmaline was promoted. As a man who fancied himself both a performer and an artist, Proustite could appreciate a good show. He hollered out his appreciation, still bent over and in pain, and managed a little clap. His ardour was genuine. Metallia pleased his heart as much as she frightened other parts of him. He was suddenly, inexplicably, in love with her. Like-- yes, good, more lightning please. Let's have public punishments and executions next.
'It is an honor to be beside you, Moonstone. And?'
"Hmmmm?" Titan's question tugged on half of Proustite's attention. He cocked an eyebrow and rubbed at his ear once Moonstone had freed him. It was a moment before he realized what the giant had asked of him, and not until after the form that Metallia had taken vanished into thin air. "Proustite, technically. You can call me Jack, though, Schwarzenegger. And I'll take you up on that ride if she says no."
He thrust a thumb in Zircon's general direction-- and then, as an afterthought, took a step away from Moonstone in case she decided to hit him, or pinch, or pull on another part of him.

Corrupted Valeria
She had been watching, listening, frozen in her spot thanks to the source of their power...and the source of all chaos? The fact that the darkness had been trying to take a form, sort of, was something out of one of her younger siblings nightmares - like the boogie man she'd heard about. It wasn't a term back in India but it was one here she had come to learn of from her little siblings and nieces and nephews. This was what nightmares were made of...and she was a part of it, so she really felt like going home for a moment and pretending this part of her life didn't exist. If she could just pretend she had never been corrupted, never had a hand sink into her chest. But no, it was rather unavoidable wasn't it.
As to options were laid out she turned her focus toward the slowly forming groups watching as whole groups of friends headed off together, and she felt rather left out. She knew no one really...what to do? She was going to be alone no matter what decision she made.
It was without much thought, as she was just a low level senshi and had no friends in any group, that she headed off to the right - to the Rift.
It didn't take long for Jet to catch sight of an angry Aquamarine stomping his way towards him. Then again, when was Aquamarine not angry? Jet scowled miserably at the other Captain as he approached and stopped before him.
While he didn't hate Aquamarine as much as the other seemed to hate him from time to time, he did get frustrated by Aquamarine's constant piss poor attitude and always blaming him for being stuck in the Negaverse in the first place. It wasn't all that bad, Jet thought, despite having been kidnapped and tortured. And beat up by Senshi and Knights. And exhausted all the time because he had work on top of Negaverse stuff so he never got to sleep and for some reason the Negaverse insists on not compensating them for their time, which would do wonders for motivation.
Join the Negaverse and never have to worry about a normal day job again! sounded better than We will kill you and your family if you don't do what you're told. <******** you..." he grunted, lifting his sleeve to scrub at his nose once more. "If you resent me so much, then go away," he suggested, realizing how immature it sounded, but also not really caring. He opened his mouth to elaborate, but paused when he heard General Cinnabar calling both he and Aquamarine over.
He could see the others that surrounded her. A little further away, the Corrupted Senshi he'd worked with before, who was now an Eternal. Jet felt the hair on the back of his neck raise in frustration at himself and jealousy over her accomplishments. He was still only a Captain, and he only had himself to blame for it.
Of course he didn't want to ignore a summon from the General who had saved him and Aquamarine, and thus had his loyalty, but he was also sick and not at his best and was probably going to be judged harshly by the others.
A voice spoke to them before he had the chance to approach Cinnabar with Aquamarine possibly in tow, telling them about their mission. They were looking for something Metallia needs? Of course he would be sick during this time.
"We're going to the cave," he told Aquamarine, sniffling as he made to follow Cinnabar and the others, although at a distance so he wouldn't sneeze on anyone.

Captain Zircon
"I think I know precisely what I can say to you," Zircon retorted sharply, her eyes flickering away to follow what Wolfeite had seen. Her body froze when she heard Metallia call after one of Labyrinthite's officers, turning slowly to find his face in the crowd. What had the lieutenant done to earn the ire of chaos herself? The captain watched with a mixture of horror and curiosity as the other officer stepped forward, and she held her breath as Metallia delivered...a promotion? To this fresh lieutenant?
Zircon clapped politely as the lightning and dust settled around the newly minted captain, though at best she wore a blank expression to hide the dark coils of jealousy that wrapped around her ribs and made it difficult to breathe. Why had she been passed over once again, less favored than some new recruit? She had served Metallia for six years, six hard-won years carved from blood and bone and starseeds, but still it was not enough. Zircon made her quotas, she came when called, she followed (most) orders, what could she possibly be missing? It was a small mercy that the new captain fell in line with some other group--that way, Zircon could peacefully brood in silence without constant reminder of her shortcomings.
"Moonstone," she greeted the other captain, letting her lips twitch in a polite smile. "I feel better about our odds already." Her right quadricep was already beginning to burn from being the favored leg, but she dared not rest her weight on the prosthesis, not with Metallia watching and the burn of the perceived pass-over still heavy on her mind. She would not look weak. She would prove them wrong.
Zircon blanched when Titan spoke, though she found herself surprised by the calm velvet of his voice, thick like fur but just as soft. He couldn't have known the danger he could put her in with his proposition, but her eyes flickered wider nonetheless, her breath catching in her throat. "I can stand on my own, thank you," she responded curtly, glancing back at the swirling form of Metallia's silhouette. Proustite's comment earned him a withering glare, but the moment their queen's presence left Zircon let out a soft exhale, putting a hand on one side. Dangerous as it was, Titan was right; her strength was better saved for the fight ahead.
"Once we get to the stairs, perhaps," she admitted darkly, beginning the long and arduous trudge. Once they were away from prying eyes, she supposed, it was as safe a plan as it would ever be.

Captain Aquamarine
Aquamarine rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest when Jet cursed at him, giving him a look to show how completely unimpressed his was by Jet’s response.
Really, he didn’t hate Jet. Well, at least not as much as he often made it seem. If it weren’t for the whole Negaverse thing, they’d probably be on much better terms, but Aquamarine was full of the utmost loathing for what had become of his life, and he needed someone to blame for it. It was Jet’s fault that Aquamarine was caught up in all of this. Even Jet would admit that from time to time, so it wasn’t as if Aquamarine didn’t have a reason to cast blame.
Aquamarine didn’t go away. He stepped up beside Jet and stood there during Metallia’s spiel. He kept his arms tight over his chest, glancing at Jet out of the corner of his eye every once a while to judge his reactions. Naturally Jet’s sense of duty won out over fatigue, which meant Aquamarine had no choice but to tag along.
Sometimes he wondered why he bothered. He might be stuck in the Negaverse, but he wasn’t being forced to do much else aside from show his face and make the barest of efforts. Jet took care of most things for him, so Aquamarine really had no reason to go with Jet if he didn’t want to, except that Metallia was issuing out orders. Even though Aquamarine felt nothing for Metallia except a vague sense of wariness, he didn’t enjoy the thought of being lectured or punished for not following orders.
So… barest effort it was, then.
As everyone began splitting into their groups, Aquamarine followed Jet over to the group that included General Cinnabar.
At least they weren’t going into a potential crapshoot without a strong presence in the lead.
Exiting to cave.

Super Dia
She watched in surprised silence as her friend was summoned forward by the Great Leader herself. It had taken her by as much surprise and bewilderment as it seemed to have affected the Lieutenan-- no -- the Captain.
As Captain Tourmaline returned to her side and nudged Victoria, who had stepped closer towards their small group during the promotion, Dia did her best to present a smile, despite being a forcibly strained one. It was good that Tourmaline had been promoted. Really. Yes. Terrific. Fantastic.
So then why did she feel awfully jealous of her companion's shining moment in the sun?
"Of course you can come, Victoria." At any other point, she would have referred to him by sweetie or darling or even a nickname, but the time for congeniality was gone. "The more in our party, the safer we'll be, right?"
Giving Grendel another absentminded stroke along his spine, black stilettos turned and made their way towards the Labyrinth's entrance.

Lt. Serpierite
To her credit, she didn't seem perturbed by Wolfite's obvious stare and assessment. She was used to her fair share of stares. No doubt, she might have come off as incompetent or weak. She couldn't dispute that, knowing there was a great deal of work ahead of her. A faint smile graced her lips, forcing herself away from these critical thoughts. "Are you coming with us, then?"
His question drew her attention away from the adorable feline, now taken hostage by that annoying pink-hair senshi. Surprise took over her features, having expected to be ignored.
"Might as well." She gave Wolfeite a genuine smile. "No matter which I choose, the path is life-threatening, right? Than I'd like to choose a path with a little bit of heart rather than none." And by heart, she was referring to Wolfeite. Little bit was very relative. He might not care about her, beyond a stranger. But he had at least caught her when she fell. So even if it came down to the worst case scenario, somebody might think about her rather than discard her without hesitation. To be honest, she didn't have very many friends due to her reluctant nature to participate in the negaverse..Her eyes belied that she didn't have a very good impression of the ruthless organization. But she wouldn't say such a thing aloud, especially when Metallia was so close by.
Captain Moonstone - Exiting with Prou, following Zirconsmol birb
Proustite was lucky that she didn't twist his ear off, for the sheer amount of stupidity he was showing in front of the other officers - and Metallia. She would have happily killed him for being ridiculous before their Lord and Master, but it seemed that Metallia had other things in mind and payed Proustite no attention, reserving such things for two others. A lieutenant promoted, her superior praised.
When Tourmaline was called out and advanced, Moonstone's lips curved into a genuine smile of pleasure, though inwardly she - much like Zircon - could not quite help feeling a pang of jealousy. She'd been serving for years, could barely recall a time when she hadn't served Chaos, and had lost so much while doing so...but she was still only a Captain. It's what I deserve, it's fine. Someday, perhaps.
Titan and Zircon's welcome kept Moonstone's expression slightly less dour, until Proustite opened his mouth again at which time it hardened once more. Idiot. But he was smart for an idiot, or at least capable of learning, as he stepped away from her reach in anticipation of a blow.
"Titan. Zircon. It will be good to fight with you." Proustite avoided punishment, but Moonstone let it slide - he would get his soon enough. The Rift was not kind to wastrels and gadabouts, and while she was fairly certain he'd survive, she was also as certain he'd end up being thrashed, thoroughly. Of their small group-within-a-group, the pale-haired bomber-jacket wearing captain was the first to set off, her obvious discomfort sending prickles of curiousity and worry through the dark-haired woman.
What happened, friend? Were you badly hurt by the Order? You were captured, I remember... Moonstone said nothing but started to follow her limping friend - they were friends, weren't they? One of the few that remained to the Haida girl - snapping her fingers at Prou and shooting him a look that said plainly that if he did not follow, it would be due to his legs being broken.
Titan, she was certain, would follow as well - he'd offered to carry Zircon, he was a good soldier. He was also reliable and did not need a babysitter partner.
Okay, so Prou was reliable too, but in other ways. He had potential, or Moonstone would probably have asked him to be turned into a youma. And Wasgo liked[/] him - that counted for something, right?

Super Victoria - Exit to the Labyrinth with Dia and Co
He looked a little curiously towards Dia as he waited and then finally an answer, he was nudged by Tourmaline and smiled softly. Thankful they'd let him join.
"Yes, safety in numbers!" He was mentally thinking at least all they needed was someone slower than themselves. After all he'd been watching enough TV that told him, the slowest person was the last one lost. "Hopefully, even though it's serious, we can have some fun with the adventure?"
The Russian was totally on board for making this trip fun. He'd noticed the cat that Dia was stroking, He'd wait to see if this was one of those talking cats, as he obviously hadn't noticed prior to current, being too wrapped up in watching Metallia and figuring out where to go.
Cavansite listened to all that was going on, and honestly, the woman’s head was spinning a little at all of the information that was being presented in such a short amount of time. First thing that mattered to her, and the thing that mattered the most was the fact that Painite was tightly holding her hand. Oh yes, that was the most important thing, and no matter what, she was going to go through all of this with a wonderful warm feeling in her chest, yes indeed she was.
The next thing that the captain noticed was the awe inspiring form of absolute…absolute…chaos that was suddenly before them, talking to them, yelling at them. Upset with how they had failed her in some…invasion? What invasion? Oh well. She would figure out that information later, she was sure…but for now, they were all being tasked with something. Missions. Special missions to do something…
She had enough presence of mind to hear that Cinnabar was going to the cave, to retrieve a crystal…interesting…though when Painite also mentioned that she would be going to the cave, Cavansite grinned. “I think going to the Cave will be a great choice, General Painite. Of course I will follow you, we’ll find what the um…the boss is looking for and it will be wonderful.”
The captain couldn’t help but wince when another agent was struck by lightening, and wondered idly for a second what the girl in pink could have done…but then she saw that the agent was now stronger. How interesting! This was going to be an interesting day, one that was going to be much more interesting than the day she was supposed to have had…grading papers. Yuck. Captain Cavansite is heading to the Caves!
