Adore was highly amused to find her brother hiding behind things he was most certainly allergic to, just like everything else in the swamp. Savouring a deep whiff, she said with a small lazy smile: " not feeling too good today, Ail darling? Your Friends seem to have landed you with a troublesome cold."

As the market slowly but surely marched on towards the end, the customers came faster and faster and Prevail found himself doling tokens out in all directions as he fielded questions. This particular Acha buck had a lot of them, and Prevail couldn't say he'd caught them all - or heard them right, anyway (Did he really hear, "Do they switch colours when you're not looking?") - but he couldn't miss his last statement, as a bloom was tucked behind his ear. "Oh," he breathed - then flushed, "why - thank you, you're very kind."But that was a mere moment in a rushing stream, and soon he had to snap back to business, nodding and smiling at the many bouquets. "Oh, no, it's lovely," he assured a gentle green doe, smiling gratefully at the same time at the many repeat customers he was glad to see the faces of - "oh, that is so sweet!" he exclaimed at the flowery Acha who returned again and again, this time flourishing a pretty bloom that he said reminded of the three - and later, "ah yes, it does look very much like you watching the sunrise! I am glad."Then it was back to smiling and nodding and "beautiful!"s - as well as one "good luck with that," to Every Rose. "Yes, very good," to another, "so very lovely!" to another yet. Even though some of the customers were a little bewildering to him - like the Kiokotes with the interesting horns, were they related? - their interest and delight delighted him, and his heart swelled with the poetry of it all. Truly, flowers were wonderful, and Kin more the wonderful!
Until Illumination came over, anyway.
"Oh dear," he paled - though not quite as pale as Take the Watch, for some reason, "yes, we shall finish up and clear off as soon as we can - we'll hide if they come by." Join the flowery Acha in the pile of remaining blossoms, perhaps. Charm did not care much for flowers.
Ail, on the other hand, was beyond paling. His last nerves had long been frayed away - he was pretty sure his tendons were following now - and he had to deal with these...these rascals.
"They're called get out of my face," he growled at Wild Green Stones, even as he stomped out the last bouquet that big, cream Kiokote had presented him."Oh, thank goodness," he huffed as his twin came on the scene, "never mind this bothersome hayfever - there's a big cream lug, a Kiokote, I think he's got me confused for you. I'm sick of everything and especially sick of him, so take my place for a moment, will you? I'm going to find some water to stick my face in. And watch out for that teal fellow with the curved horns. He's annoying too."
He didn't wait for a reply.

Tropic gathered the very last of his herbs and placed organized them. They weren't his best, but they were the last of his batch and he hoped it would be good anyway. He cheerily turned them over and smiled tiredly. The event was just about over, and called for a nice long nap! Thumbnail:

"I've never tried making a bouquet before." Flowers didn't grow well underground in caves. Ornamental mushrooms were another story. "How does this one smell--I mean, look?"

Even with all the packing up (and hiding) rush, Just Prevail could not help but keep thinking back to that one bouquet he just could not get out of his mind. The most mismatched bouquet he had ever seen in his entire life. His eye twitched mildly just remembering the sight of it. Of course, the stag who had assembled it looked a most distinguished gentleman who'd know a thing or two about flowers, seeing as they seemed to sprout from him, and he'd collected other perfectly lovely bouquets before - perhaps it had just been a fancy, perhaps it had been a clever statement. Nonetheless, something deep in Prevail could not leave off the thought, and when he spotted the gentleman again, he quickly begged one of the strange animals the Totoma had tamed off Take the Watch (a clever one, one Watch had before noted had a knack for sorting out like items when directed), and slipped over to the stag. "Pardon me, dear sir, I believe this belongs to you," he said, because he was too polite to say your bouquet really disturbed me, you might need the help, and quickly scurried off, leaving the pet in the stag's care. anemosagkelos Congratulations! He'd been lingering for most of the event around the flower booth, inhaling the perfume of sweet blossoms, and keeping to himself. Although he'd been sure to keep a friendly air up should there be anyone in need. He'd been mildly surprised that no one spoke or sought him out. And as the booth was closing and the event was over, he should be going on his way. Still he lingered. It wasn't until the buck approached him, a polite "Pardon me, dear sir, I believe this belongs to you," that he had a reason for doing so. Although a pet was not the reason he would have asked for or guessed at. Anyway... "Thank you!" he called after the buck then turned his attention to the pet. "Best find you a home, little one. Come on then," he commanded softly as he left. Jun D Colorist preference: morphy, corn Recipient: Huni Pi Given by: ane
