Rota decided to go out and hunt some more deer to get the venison he needed for his Dire Puppy. He went into the woods and hid in a bush, keeping eyes and ears out for the being he needed. He waited for about a minute before one began to leap past him, and that is when he jumped out from the bush and tried to strike it down as fast as possible.

Rota burst out of the bush, hefting his mighty blade Abyssian. He swung his sword at an acute angle upwards from his left shoulder to above his right, not only cutting off the escape route of the stunned deer, but also its head for good measure. The corpse stood for a good while before it finally toppled over in death. Rota looked at his blade, and there was no blood on it. It seemed to have devoured whatever gore and viscera had clung to it. He was proud of this blade. It was his baby. His Masterpiece. That being said, he still brandished it in front of himself defensively, since he knew that creatures could return to consciousness more angry than before.

When Rota was satisfied that the deer would not stand back up, he carved it with the knife, thus bursting it into shards. Rota jumped back into the bush, awaiting the next deer to amble by. It took a while, but eventually one did to nibble on the grass. Rota waited more, shifting his grip on his blade so that he could thrust forward from out of the bush. He was determined to keep the streak alive of downing deer in one hit. He did NOT want to have to try and prevent one from successfully running away. The less it new of its impending death, the better.

The deer looked at the bush and walked up to it, tenderly nibbling the leaves. That was when Rota's eyes hardened in determination as he took that moment to lash out. He thrust Abyssian into the center of the deer's chest, pinning it to the blade by its sternum, ribcage, and lungs. He could feel the heartbeat of the deer beat twice in shock and then stop. Rota wrenched the sword from his victim and watched it slump to the ground. He kept close watch of the Deer, not wanting to deal with whatever hell beast arose from such an innocent creature.

Rota was once more convinced of the deer's inability to rise from the grave after such trauma, so he carved the spoils and the body burst. Since he knew he was able to kill from his hiding spot, he was able to stay there, just waiting for his prey. He continued to wait for more deer, and after watching the habits of Boars, Bunnies, and Bears he saw another Deer. He had to wait for it to come closer so he could Kill it as quickly and painlessly as possible.

The deer came close, moving past the bush, and that was all the opportunity that Rota needed. He held Abyssian Horizontally and plunged the blade deep into the chest cavity of the Deer, slicing its ribcage in two. The Deer did not have enough time to recognize that it was dead before it was dead. it slumped over in front of the bush that The demon swordsman happened to inhabit, and he waited for the body to move. He had gotten lucky so far, but there was only so long that luck could last before it ran out.

Rota waited and waited, and no resurrection in sight. He carved the latest victim, and watched the body shatter. He liked that he had this convenient hiding spot. It allowed him to lurk in the shadows, being far more sneaky than you would think a man using a sword the size of Abyssian would be. Spitting in the face of expectations was one of Rota's favorite pastimes in that way. So Rota sat and waited, his favored blade just waiting to get another stab, for the next unwitting victim to his hunt-a-thon. he decided though, that this would be the last Deer he would hunt right now. That would give him plenty of meat for now. He watched the last deer come into view, and it was an amazing Buck, just glorious 5-point antlers, well shaped, and a lot of meat on its bones. He awaited its approach.

Rota waited for the Buck to get close, and cocked back his sword past his left shoulder. If he was going to end this, it would be with a bang. With the rustle of the leaves, the deer knew something was up, but didn't know what yet. That was when Rota leapt out of the undergrowth straight at the stunned deer, and slashed it horizontally at the base of the neck, taking its head clean off and it slumping onto the ground. The body slumped to the ground shortly after the head did, and Rota stood waiting for the deer to get back up again.

Rota watched the Buck intently, and was almost convinced that it had died. And then it shifted. Rota jumped back in horror as he watched the severed head sprout four arms from the stump and scuttle along the grass to the stump of the neck hole on the main body. He heard the sickening crunch as the head used the arms to screw itself back onto the main body and then fuze itself to it. The deer grew the size of an Elk and its eyes and mouth seeped with its own blackened blood. The antlers on its head grew in size and spread, 13 points on each antler and all of them were barbed. The hooves of the Buck were cracked and dessicated, yet cut to a razor edge and the pelt was matted and wild.

This was more horrifying to him than the Rage Boar had ever been. At least there the Boar had already been a savage, bloodletting, territorial beast hell bent on killing and maiming all that came across it. This was a previously peaceable creature that had been turned INTO that via vengeance. Rota gripped Abyssian close and prepared for one hell of a fight. If he could, he needed to end the fight quick. He was not going to get hit by this thing. Time to bust out his recently learned technique.

Rota's legs from his knees down began to glow with a white light as WTB (What The Buck) charged the demon with its savage antlers. Rota jumped high into the air, his cloak billowing with the air pressure as he vaulted over the horror charging him, and he proceeded to drop straight down on top of it, his blade pointed down at the ground, the flat of the blade facing him. He landed on the Savage monstrosity with a sickening crunch as he severed its spine halfway down its back and staked it into the ground. It let out a bestial roar as its bundles of tendon and sinew couldn't keep the midsection of the beast together and it separated, its front half sprinting briefly before face planting into the ground and the back half slumping shallowly to the ground once separated. He backed away slowly from the carnage he just caused and held out Abyssian EXCEEDINGLY defensively once more. He didn't know if things like this could get up for a second time, but he was NOT going to chance it.

It was back to the mine again with Rota. He needed more coal and iron that he didn't have. Sure he had SOME, but more can always help. Besides, if he was going to start light smithing on top of everything else, he would need more quartz. Though Light smithing seemed to be a lot less resource heavy than his other varieties. Rota took off his cloak and walked to the main path of his mine, deciding to give that section more love than he had given it in a while. He set down his blade and took out his pickaxe. he felt the wall a bit, and could feel something good back in there a ways, so he hefted the pick and went to work.

Rota was surprised he had only obtained usable stone to start off with. It used to be customary, but now it just felt weird. He had gotten complacent with the endless bounty that the mine had been presenting him lately. He remembered how tough it had been to even get one coal for his own use back in the day, and it brought a smile for bygone days to his face. He refocused himself and set about his work again, striking the stone with his plethora of hard earned talent.

That was more like it. A Mother Lode was close coming after that initial tradition. Rota wondered how long he would be at this particular mining session, or what his goal was going to be. He ultimately decided that whenever he thought he had a sufficient amount then he would stop. That had to be the deciding factor. He knew he had over 20 coal in his reserves...Maybe 40 like last time? He wasn't sure.

Not a mother lode, but the coal was appreciated. Rota slid the usable coal and stone off to the side as he continued his work. He really did need to find a use for the metric butt load of stone he was gathering. It was ludicrous how much stone he had since he was required to mine so much to be an Artisan. He chuckled to himself. he could finally call himself that. He had made Abyssian, a Weapon that was peerless in quality and wholly unique. He was sad that such a fine weapon had distracted him from making Alyx's sword and shield, but hopefully he could rectify that predicament. all he needed to do was gather more materials and he could smelt and smith even more. He needed to perfect his craft so that he could repeat the phenomena with his blade. Alyx deserved that level of quality.

More isolated coal. Coal veins were never a bad thing in Rota's opinion, it was just weird to see this now. His Mine had given him so much bounty before, and now it was just giving him coal. He didn't know how to feel. On one hand, he was glad he was getting what he needed. it was almost petulant to expect more than that. On the other hand, He had been getting far more than this far faster before. It was an odd dichotomy. Rota favored the first hand approach, thanking his good fortune that he was even getting this much. He continued his work in his mine.
