He turned his head away, blinded even by the slightest amount of light. He frowned as he pushed himself off the bed and into the toilet. The talk he had with Casey last night, the constellations, the hand holding. He smiled.

It took him a couple minutes to get ready and he stepped into his suit and tie. It may be something too formal to wear on a daily basis but it was something required for the man to wear:

One, to remain professional at all times no matter if he's on, or off his job. Two, it was something he was required to wear during his performances. And also, it's the few outfits he had in his wardrobe.

It was quite early in the morning, and he had decided to explore the rest of the city, to familiarize with the area. It took him minutes of walking, until he came to a stop in front of a relatively large establishment that was located off the coast of the beach. He assumed it's one of the hotels, and he slowly stepped inside. The doorman greeted him, and Camil nodded before he walked off. Perhaps he'd get some inspiration in this area, watching the stars gleamed off the surface of the moving waves. He'd have an excuse to spend the night here. He pulled up a chair and sat down in what seemed like a dining area, and he pulled his empty music sheets out. Yes, it would be easier to compose with a piano, but with his inability to hear, it made no difference. His hands ran swiftly across the music sheets, seconds turned into minutes, which slowly turned into an hour. There were people who stopped by him and asked if they could be of service but Camil, completely indulged in his compositiin and unable to hear, had unintentionally ignored the waiters and waitresses. Paper after paper, he discarded them. The melody was good however, it wasn't what he was aiming for. It didn't represent what he felt. Soon, the papers had started to stack upon the table, and he had started to run out of ideas. Frustrated, he breathed a sigh and frowned, leaning back against his seat.

No. It doesn't feel right. Nothing feels right. His gaze trailed towards the window, and gazed out at the ocean. He needed a time out. A break. Anything to get his mind off this frustrating matter.

It certainly didn't help that the storm clouds were rolling in, meaning that it would rain later on if the weather condition would grow worse. She had to carry an extra umbrella as well as her coat for added protection against the cold as she reported for work today. She might play Amadeus again once her shift was over for the day, but for now, even with the harsh weather, she had to go to work for money. Her next day off would be on Sunday, unless she would be called for duty on that day. With that, she had to endure the grueling tasks for today.

Because chicken and dumplings would be part of the menu for the lunch special, the ingredients for the stock had to be prepared early. And also, it would take hours for the poultry to be tenderized, as well as preparing the dough for the dumplings. Taking a deep breath, she rolled up her sleeves as she cut up the vegetables for the stock base. The batches would be huge, so the number of pots utilized for the cooking of the soup would be three to four, depending on the demand. She had only done soup-based dishes a few times, so it was a challenge for her, more so when having to taste-test multiple times for consistency. She then picked up the whole chickens and checked to see if they were any imperfections. The last thing that she wanted was a customer complaint simply because of the ingredients that were blemished, laden with spoiled spots, or left uncooked.

Once she was done with the initial preparations, she stirred the chickens and vegetables inside the pots until they were cooked partially, adding the herbs next, before pouring cool water until the level almost covered the meat, letting the base boil and simmer afterwards. She would have to check the progress occasionally since it would be a slow process. Indeed, patience was the key at this moment.

Seconds turned into minutes, ten, then came twenty, thirty. He breathed a sigh as he fiddled with the music sheets that were scrunched up and scattered around the table. He opened them one by one, stacking them atop another, browsing through the music sheets. No. There was still none. There's something missing. Something wasn't right. He frowned, folding the stack in half and holding it in his hands. His golden irises scanned the area, first laying eyes upon one of the waiter who was looking his way.

                                                                          "Cocky." "Arrogant."

His expression darkened and his dark mood resurfaced after Casey had finally made him ease up on strangers. Today, at the sight of the waiter, he was snapped into reality. Yes. There were still people like that around, people who judge before they understand a person's situation. How stupid of him to think that this city was filled with people who think the same way as Casey. Camil frowned and pushed himself off the seat. He stopped altogether and a familiar scent travelled into his senses. He stepped towards the kitchen and peeked inside from the entrance. It smelled familiar and he couldn't quite remember where exactly he had smelled this before. Refraining himself from startling to young cook, he spoke in a soft voice. "Excuse me.. may I ask what you're cooking there?"

While it was true that the stock would take a long time to cook, she should at least prepare another component for the dish, which was none other than the dumplings. The chef was now busy mixing the dough. Again, the batches would huge, so the quantities were enormous. In fact, the bowl that was utilized was the metal variation, the diameter suitable for that huge batch of cake batter. That would be a form of exercise if she would put it that way since the mixing arm will be mostly doing the work.

It was then that she heard someone asking a question about what she was cooking. She resisted the urge to squeal and turned her head, ceasing her task to focus on the male figure. Her green eyes took notice of the tanned-skinned male, with golden eyes surveying her activity curiously. More importantly, his mop of hair was brown, though a tint darker than his flesh. She could only assume that the person may be a customer who was waiting for the lunch special. With a giggle, she answered his question, rubbing her cheek sheepishly with the index finger of her free hand.

"Chicken and dumplings, sir. Good for the heart and soul. I promise you that it will be worth the wait." Though she was sure that the male would like to know more about her expertise in the craft, at least she was prepared to reply with a smile. After all, she had to retain her positive demeanor even with the hectic situation today.

He sniffed, still unable to grasp where exactly he had eaten this dish. It wasn't one of his mother's cooking, definitely not the kind of dish you'd find in the United Kingdom. His golden irises trailed towards the girl's lips as she began to speak. His eyes narrowed, straining to watch the movement of her lips in the far distance though he was still able to make out a couple of words from her sentences.

It's the first time someone had described food that way. Curious. "It'll be worth the wait." said the woman, and Camil is definitely looking forward to what she was preparing. Very curious.

The description that she had brought up about the dish was indeed straight out of the TV commercial. But still, what mattered was that she was condensing the narration for the sake of continuing work. She was about to cringe when his smile faded, but instead she went on with the happy facade. She had told herself not to be affected by the reactions of other people, a part of the resolution for the new year. So far, it was a small progress, but not quite there yet.

When the customer apologized for his action and mentioned abut his inquisitive attitude towards watching what she was cooking, she waved her hand in defense, attempting to fix the possible misunderstanding. "A-ah. It's alright. It was not actually the first time someone was watching me cook at this kitchen. I-it's fine as long as you behave and don't touch the food." She still recalled Syn being the witness of her previous work yesterday and she was glad that the other enjoyed the show. Solaris could only hope that the male would do the same thing, even if she hadn't known him that much yet.

What she said after, made him feel less guilty of his actions and his expression softened noticably, though he was still rather upset with the rest of the employee's attitude. The waiters especially. His eyes narrowed once more as she spoke, golden irises straining to see her lip movement. "I'd like to stay and watch if I'm allowed to. His golden irises then slowly trailed towards the waiters standing around gossiping. His lips curved upwards as he turned back towards the girl,

"I'm sorry to trouble you- would you mind speaking a little slower? I'll be able to read your lips that way. I'm.. deaf, as you can see." his hand reached up and tapped at the small device inside his ear. In that moment, from the corner of his eyes, he noticed how they had lowered their heads. Out of embarrassment? Out of guilt? He wasn't sure but it felt great giving them a taste of their own medicine.

"I'm Camil. I hope I'm not causing you any trouble."

At the male's statement about inspiration, Solaris blinked. Did that mean that he may also be into music and art like she could have guessed? The true answer would wait till she would get to know more about that guy, more so at this busy moment. The fallen angel would admit internally that he was a fine-looking fellow, with some quirks here and there.

When she was informed about his current condition, she couldn't help but feel bad for him. At least his honesty allowed her to adapt so that they could understand each other better. Her next words were gradual, the tone clear and crisp. "I see. Well, in fact, you are among the few others whom I have met with such... disadvantages." Syn had dyslexia and Mel was a mute, so meeting up with those people made her realize that she had to be patient with them. Perhaps she should at least learn how to use sign language, just in case she would get free time after her rehearsals.

It was then that the brunet introduced himself as Camil. She giggled. "Nice meeting you, Camil, and it's a nice name. My name's Solaris. And I have to finish the preparations for the meal. I'll let you have a taste of it when the dish is done. You are still welcome to watch if you want to." And with that, she returned her attention to her job. Her consent was granted to him as long as he kept a safe distance because etiquette was important. There would be a lot of time for them for such casual conversations.

He ignored it and simply focused on what she was saying. He wasn't the only one, he's not surprised in the least. There were people who suffered the same condition as him, Soleil was not an exception.

"Perhaps I'll meet them some day. Maybe they'd be able to help me." he answered. A song dedicated to people who had disabilities. A song of hope. A smile grew on his features and he returned his gaze towards her as she introduced herself to him. He was surprised at her comment regarding his name. Normally, people would think his name sounded feminine.

"Sol." He recognized the first word. It meant 'sun' in Latin. The word that followed after seemed to read "Aries". One of the constellation Casey had taught him the night before. "Sol..aries. Sola.. Solaris? Is that right?" he stated, searching her fave for any signs of confirmation. He hated names but then again, he felt lucky to learn yet another person's name. He wondered if she, too, was differerent from the rest of the people. He hope she is. She seemed kind.

"I think your name's beautiful. I haven't heard of it before." then again, he doesn't know a lot of names either. "Have you lived here long? What's this city like?"

The fallen angel was finally done with the dumpling mixture and was now checking on the soup. She had to make sure that the soup would taste good, so she kept several tasting spoons in her chef suit pocket. Of course, she had to wash them every time she was done taste testing the components so that there would be no contamination. It was part of the chef code that she had to remember all the time. After skimming with the metal spoon to remove the impurities, she utilized one of the tasting spoons and sipped after blowing. She nodded after letting the flavors settle on her tongue and mouth, but a little bit more seasoning would be necessary, so she added a tiny dash of salt and pepper onto each batch.

When Camil asked if the way he spoke her name was correct, she giggled softly. "Close enough, Camil, but you got it." While her name may be considered a tongue twister for the deaf boy, she was glad that he got the pronunciation correctly. With a little more practice, the way her handle rolled off the muscle in the orifice would be clearer. At the compliment about her name, she blushed faintly, voice shaking a bit but still audible for the other to hear. "A-Ah, my parents were the ones naming me with that handle, but I'm glad that you liked the name. It does have a certain ring to it."

She was about to go on with the second round of the taste test when the male asked about her life in the city. While still focusing on the task, she replied while ensuring that he would hear every word clearly. "Actually, I moved into the city almost a month ago. So far, living there was nice, and I have met multiple individuals who appreciated my music. Though I did screw up at times and I have to let go of some people who decided to part ways with me for good, what matters was that I have to keep on living to the fullest. Plus, the scenery at the beach was breathtaking." Though her new life at Soleil was not like a perfect orchestra, at least the notes were pleasant to her ears. It would surely get better as time would pass by.

The kitchen was soon covered in a strong herb fragrance as the young cook continued to season the soup. It smelled nice and it had started to make the man drool over the dish. His gaze flickered towards her lips as she spoke, just in time to see the latter half of what she had said. Apparently, he had gotten her name right after a couple of tries. At her statement, a smile stretched across his features. According to her slight shift in demeanor after, he supposed she was embarrassed by his sudden compliment. He, too, had gotten slightly embarrassed with what he had said earlier but he was thankful that she carried on with the conversation.

"It sounds unique. Thanks for your compliment on my name earlier, you're one of the few who. Normally, my name usually comes off feminine."

Piano? Violin? He didn't know but she had certainly piqued his interest. Overall, this city was alright according to her, which was certainly something that made him feel slightly at ease with his surroundings. The beach, she mentioned. Lune beach? Yes. The nightsky, the stars. Camil smiled. "So you play musical instruments too?"

She picked up another one of her clean tasting spoons and tasted the broth on each batch once more after giving it a few swirls. She hummed in happiness because the taste was just right right. As Camil mentioned on how his name sounded feminine, her signature giggle erupted from her mouth. "It's actually my first time hearing that such a feminine name was designated for a guy like you. But I'm not minding that. Besides, some names can be for both genders although the way they spelled diverged from each other."

She was now going to drop the balls of the dumpling mixture into the broth when the inquiry about musical instruments came about. As the green-eyed girl dumped each small piece with careful precision, her reply was heartfelt. "I do. In fact, I have brought it with me, but it's in my locker. It's a violin, a vital part of me that was one of the last pieces of my life back in Australia before I ended up here in this city." Her smile was faint as she continued on. "Her name's Amadeus."

It was another day at work at the kitchen. Going through the same routine, still wearing the same outfit except that this time, she was wearing jeans as well as cowboy boots for footwear. She had noodles for breakfast back home since the weather was cold and she had to give up flying for the trip in favor of the casual walk. Good thing it was just a light drizzle, though it would rainy as heck later at noon. Fortunately, the menu for today was fit to beat off the cold temperature.

It was none other than beef ramen, a noodle dish typically served in Japan. Right now, she had to make sure that the beef would be tenderized enough or else someone would complain of teeth being broken while chewing on it. Plus, the vegetables and the noodles had to be spot on as well. Indeed, it would be a busy day even with the nasty weather outdoors.

Grunting, he pushed himself off the bed and glared at the canines but he found himself falling apart when they gazed at him with their large hazel irises. He breathed a sigh and nuzzled against them before he headed into the bathroom for a quick shower. It was rather cold outdoors but it doesn't seem as if the dogs mind the temperature at all. Chuckling, he slipped into his usual v neck sweater and jeans.

"Come, we're taking a trip to the beach. How about that?" he asked, and the canines barked in unison, their tails wagging vigirously in return, excited to get their paws wet and sandy. Throwing in a few change of clothes into his bag, the man was ready to go. He caressed the locket Rina gifted him the other day, his picture frame was up on the table by his bed, a picture of both him and Rina during the Fall Ball were placed in the picture frame. Placing the leash on both the puppies, they headed out and throughout the whole journey in the car, his pets were barking and growling at passers by, and he was starting to worry if it was even a good idea to bring them along. After a long while at the beach and the two were finally tired, they entered Amour de la Mer, a place where Seth planned to spend a night at. A small getaway from everything, just his beloved puppies by his side. They obediently sat by the dining hall, the duo were fed in the morning and there were completely unwavered by the smell of ramen that filled the establishment. "You know what? I'll call you Asher and you, will be Iggy." he pointed at the male, then at the female dog. He placed his order, waiting for his food to arrive until the alpha male decided it was time for one of his little shenanigans. Without warning, it dashed for the kitchen, wondering what lays within that particular area.

"Damn it, Ash! Get your a** back here right this instant." he muttered, and it paused it its footsteps to take a small glance at its owner. Not before long, it continued on its merry way to the kitchen. Iggy, too, followed after. Panicking, the redhead ran after them, grabbing a hold of their leash before they managed to set foot into the kitchen. He picked them up, one around each arm. The duo, unamused, started whining in quite an annoying manner. Seth, knowing full well they were causing a hassle, had quickly apologized in their stead. An expression of pure frustration upon his features.

                                                                    "S-sorry about that-.."
