Another awesome gift was girlly stuff to pamper myself. It was great except some of those nice smelling things also drew the bugs to you. Needless to say I had to be very careful when and where I wore it. It was also a great lesson in sharing and not hording things. Someone sent my peanut brittle and I saved it till we got together at Christmas. Well, by the time I opened it (even thouth the plastic was still on it) some critter had eaten all the peanuts out of it. We all ate it anyways cuz sweets were very rare.

We had cream cheese flown into our village once and I thing it was like $12. But it was so worth it.

Strangely, cultural shock coming home was greater than living overseas. There you expect change and everything to be new and different. When you come home you are shocked cuz there are so many choices in the stores. People waste water and resources and it horrifies you, you want to shake them and say " Don't you realize...?" I was relieved to not have to stand in line in the sun for hours every month to pay my phone or utility bill when I lived in an African city. Good and not so fun times.

My regrets are that I didn't stay in touch with people I met overseas. Even a once a year letter to keep in touch would have been nice. That way if we travels again, I could go visit them and they might come visit me. Like my house help in Africa. He was a great guy with a sense of humor. I learned alot from him and we were friends. He showed me how t dig chigger out of my toes with a thorn. He was made Chief of his village so he trained a young guy to take his place but I have wondered about him and his family for years.I am not even sure if he could read and write?

princess, I read your profile and wondered where abouts you are from? I noticed you are a Christian. So what is a religion? My group also claims it is not a religion, but it supports alot of rules and expectations to be a respected member. I need to be in this group so I play the game, but I think they are just like a religion. If we act like Jesus, then we would not lean on gays and people, like you said, who are born different. Does your church embrace gays as a lifestyle or as a disease? Do you believe Jesus died for the whole world or just those he chose to save? Maybe we can answer these on a different forum or pm me. I accept new friends,

Goldiepirate hey Ambros if I am offending you with all my crazy posting....let me know. My perspective was that I was working for the gold offered in the contest after I made the appropriate polite conversation. I do not wish farewells cuz I find them depressing and I would rather say till we meet again. It's a bumping thread and you could spam all you want. That's what people do in these competitions. Anyway, I know you've been wanting to win the competition, so I sent you a trade with the 20,000,000,000! Enjoy! Farewell.

I haven't done one in a long time. Can I bother you to resend that trade. Did you get any useful advice from your other thread?

Ambrosia, I tried to put a heart charm in our trade but it looked like it put all of them in, So I didn't know how to take them out of the trade, so I pushed cancel and voila, it did just that. I am still interested in the gift and happy I was chosen. It would have been nice to get to chat with you more about your new adventure too.

Thanks again Ambosia that is about the amount I have been able to accumulate in all my years on Gaia. I never was that good at making gold but I just saved it well. Night night and off to bed or bonne nuit
