User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. "Oh!" said Optimist in reply to Trouble, her eyes widening as she re-evaluated her choices in light of that information. "I'm sorry - I must've not been paying attention."

Oh - oh, but voting was starting. Eyes wide, Optimist took in the discussion that was going on. A lot of the votes made sense - and they probably would continue to. To be honest, what Wintershadow said was making sense - there wasn't much to be gained from true speculation. Still, she thought it was more important that people try to speculate. That was the only way she stood a chance of catching anyone's contradictions out!

"This early in the game I hesitate to vote for someone who has been speaking up," she began, tilting her head at Arctic Waste. It made sense, though - a predator wouldn't want to be too noticeable. But still: he hadn't said anything damning, and there were plenty of kin hanging to the shadows far more than he. "Yet I hesitate to vote for someone who has yet to speak up today! There's still time." She frowned slightly at Trouble and Peep. Honestly, Optimist did have her opinions. She didn't want to waste her vote but she knew there was still more disc - oh!

Wintershadow had voted for Trouble. Considering, she tossed her head to the side. "I like your vote and - and - um, and Wolf Dream's best. Eyes of the Night didn't talk at all except to vote yesterday, which struck me as interesting." Still, at least he'd talked! And Trouble...just seemed like she was stirring up trouble. While she'd been right in saying she'd voted the previous day, the rest of her behavior was strange. It was silly to say she had suspicions, and then hurry to say that there were just a lot of them, vaguely! Especially since no one had anything to go off of. It seemed like she was trying to find substance where there wasn't really any, and her vote had been a little unfair considering Apathy had spoken plenty and still voted yesterday - and there was still plenty of time left in the day for the green doe to start speaking. It just didn't add up!

"But I think you're right, Wintershadow. I don't think voting for Lost Apathy makes sense at all; she might be unassuming but that has nothing to do with who's a predator...and she talked and voted enough yesterday." Optimist cocked her head and turned to Trouble. "I'm going to vote for Trouble, too."

Neither Nor gave a cool and entirely unimpressed glare towards Doubleback as she named them last before 'night' fell over their game. When their host described the mornings events the banded kin's ears twitched a little with interest. Well that was far more entertaining than just a simple 'she's dead.'. It seemed as soon as he was finished though, the herd was off talking over and around each other as they had the first time.

Neither Nor listened to snippets here and there as the kin around them tried to come up with a strategy. "I'd say that Wintershadow and Bare Trees are right as far as I'm concerned. It's too early to really be able to give a good guess as to who may be a wolf." Neither Nor huffed softly then took a deep breath.

"I will point out though that while voting went heavily in one direction last 'night' Doubleback was quick to try and single me out as a leader. A pointless move as up until this moment I knew none of you nor had any say in the actual discussion beyond my own vote. If anyone is 'leading' the voting. It isn't me." They turned to Doubleback.

"You were right. There was little explanation for why they voted as I did because one doesn't exist. I don't control their votes nor did I try to convince them to side with me. I wasn't even the first to point out the flaw in her plan. You just wanted an easy target."

Swamp Trees didn't know what to think when she woke to hear of Watch the Skies death. It was a part of the cycle, death and life. Always. She did her best to listen to what the others said, but it was an overload to her mind. So much to take in.

"To vote or not to. It is nice to see that the votes today are not as follow the leader as yesterdays." Her head turned as Wintershadow was voted on. That was the familiar buck's name. But now was not the time to be thinking on that. She had to think who was plotting as a wolf. Yet the talks and everything still didn't help her pick one.

Apathy waited patiently for Fire Made Flesh to begin, the sound of his teeth like four acorns scraped against a rock. She had been the one to do the scraping, of course; how else would she be able to see what was inside?

She hummed contemplatively when Fire replied, head cocked. Was his vote truly as simple as he'd claimed? Or had he specifically targeted Watch the Skies with the intent of using that as an excuse? It seemed like so much trouble; on the other hand, first impressions were crucial, and it made sense that a wolf would try to establish itself as innocent early on. But as Wild Sage brought up, the wolves were a group. How coordinated would they be?

Eventually, with a shake of the head, "Wolf Dream is right; there's too much that can be seen as suspicious. All I have is speculation, and not enough to risk the death of a prey. For now, I withhold judgement."

To go from spiel to neutrality was a bit much, perhaps; but what concrete proof did she have to go off of this time? She would watch, and wait, and see what came of it. As for the comment about his age, she left it be. She knew kin turned crisp and yellow when they were old (or perhaps dehydrated), like leaves. If he didn't want to be associated with that, it was his choice to make.

And ah, how the frogs have turned. "Unassuming, but noticeable. That means I'm famous, right?" she grinned up at Trouble, but said nothing more. It seemed too easy to vote against the one that voted for you, and she'd no desire to fall into the same predicament Fire did or let self-defensiveness control her. While it was true a few had voted for Trouble (and she would help Optimist with a mud disguise later!), it was still too early to tell, especially with the variability of names this round. For this, too, she would wait and see.

She turned back to Kiss, murmuring agreement. This was only a game, but it struck her all the same.

"What better time to smile, than at the darkest of moments?" she returned. Then, "Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Could I call you Dotty?"

Night acknowledged the speaking of his name with a nod. "It is a game after all."

Meeting the eyes that turned to him after his name was spoken, "I am Eyes of the Night," he said as an introduction. "Outside of this game, I am a wanderer of the swamp. I rarely encounter those that would speak with me so I am lacking in the skills of conversing in a group."

"I have listened to the reasonings put forth by others. While they all sound well thought out, they have not swayed me to view anyone as predator or prey." Glancing around, he added, "I'm afraid my vote for this day is random and perhaps chosen only by an inner whim. I cast today's vote for a doe who reminds me of flowers in the spring, Tipping into Madness."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Watch listened to Merry Wanderer describe the gory death of the two voted out and breathed out a heavy breath. His heart swelled with pride of this Acha he did not know. He wish he did, he wanted to hear their stories.

This whole ordeal was terribly exciting. Watch the Skies had the jist of it, Watch normally took his role as a narrator and story teller, never a character. How interesting it was to have your ending in the hands of someone other than yourself! Watch hid his excitement, however, feeling it would be misinterpreted. Instead, he moved over to Snake Flower and gave her a consoling brush of his tail and with a soft voice he addressed her, "It is only a game. Smile some, everyone agreed with you."

Watch had been too busy conversing with the pale doe to notice that the voting had begun, that was, until someone spoke his name. He was shocked, why him? "An arbitrary vote? Then what are all these random names spat into the wind for no other reason but a gut feeling?" He asked the Acha doe, "We have nothing to go on just yet. Forgive me for voting early and incorrectly while the rest just followed blind."

Watch sighed, he enjoyed being a character for once but it was quite stressful. But still he watched, and more importantly, listened. No one seemed to know who to vote for. He thought back on the doe he had voted on the previous round. What did she say that would scare the predators so much that they would kill her off? "What we should be wondering is why Watch the Skies was chosen, am I wrong? She is our only clue at this point. So. What did she do?" He asked.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The white doe besides her hadn't even introduced herself. "Well it is true that they could be framing him, but perhaps we should not overestimate our opponents just yet. It is too early in the game to say if they are capable of such things or not."

She mulled for a bit before answering Apathy and Fire Made Flesh. "Voting for someone who voted for you is not exactly the smartest thing. After all the majority of us are prey and I should think any normal prey would try to explain themselves and dissuade such a vote for the good of the group." Perhaps it was just the buck's nature that made him so aggressive, but his unwillingness to answer accusations brought against him twice was certainly suspicious in Doubleback's eyes.

Doubleback returned Kiss of Death's greeting with a small dip of her head.

She turned towards the buck with the odd tail. The green glow of Neither Nor's eye seemed quite angry. He did not take very well to being accused. "I gave my reasoning behind such a vote, though if you would like elaboration, I would be glad to try and explain it further. As for my own lateness, i was stuck in essay hell, it was a mistake on my part. I lost track of time."

"A no-vote could mean so many things, but as of now I think we'd best work with the only solid information we have. Watch the Skies was prey, she voted for Fire Made Flesh and she was killed."

((1. I think I got everyone that made reference/quoted me! 2. I dropped Doubleback's font color bc its so blinding, sorry for the confusion. T__T))

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. A chorus of voices was now chiming in. Optimist gave a soft little nod for Neither Nor, but quickly spoke up when Swamp Trees did. "I think you should choose to vote!" said Optimist. It didn't matter who Swamp Trees voted or - or, well, it did - but to intentionally refrain from voting stuck a little close to not playing the game, on this day. Unless perhaps she was holding judgement on someone?

She perked her ears again when Eyes of the Night began speaking - for perhaps the first time. Optimist could hardly remember Tipping into Madness but perhaps the vote would draw her into speaking, just like Wolf Dream's had done for Eyes of the Night. Still, his reason for voting was a little silly when he could've at least added to the speculation or mentioned that she'd been quiet, so she'd keep her eyes on Night yet.

She looked to As the Sun Burns as he finally began speaking. "I don't think Watch the Skies did much beside scold Fire Made Flesh," Optimist said. "But Fire Made Flesh seems like the target that the wolves would want us to pick." It might be that he was suspicious yet - he certainly hadn't been too exciting, at all. "I certainly don't think we should make votes arbitrarily, even now, though. We have at least a bit of information! Early in the game I think the best bets are quiet kin and kin with inconsistent reasoning." She paused. Of course, late in the game this would change.

Finally she regarded Doubleback and her bright, bright hair. "I understand your reasoning - and I think I wouldn't object to your voting for him! But as far as solid[ information goes, I'd say we have a bit more! As the Sun Burns also voted for Watch the Skies, if arbitrarily." She tilted her head. "I've already voted, but I'm more interested in him, because it seemed like he was making an arbitrary vote after others had made votes with deliberation." Of course, Fire Made Flesh was still suspicious - but she thought it was likely that he was just cocky and, well, immature. Between the bullying and the childish reasoning for picking Watch the Skies, he seemed silly!

Blooming had to think long and hard about this second vote. Though she didn't have much time left at this point! Most of the Kin who were speaking out made such good points about who they were voting for... She might have to wait until a few more speak their mind. Certainly they didn't have a lot of information to go on as of yet, but that information probably wouldn't come until later in the game either!
This was such a hard game to get the hang of. Most votes will be random, she was sure of that. But at this point, there was even less a point of not voting at all than there was on the first day. How could they possibly get rid of the predators if they didn't vote now! And such a terrible fate could wait any one of them in the night...

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Sun Sinks Down had misunderstood something, obviously, which wasn't a surprise with all the voices and opinions and bodies, frankly. She'd thought Wintershadow might have some extra insight, but maybe that was wishful thinking.

"It seems awfully obvious to me, killing off someone who voted for you. Too obvious, unless you wanted to give yourself away and if you wanted to do that, why not just confess instead of playing at all?" Others had said the same thing, but the suspicion kept getting voiced, and it just seemed wrong.

"But you're pushing awfully hard to make us believe that Fire Made Flesh would be that blunt, and I wonder why. My vote's for you instead," she announced, tipping her head toward Doubleback.

"I don't think she's pushing towards Fire Made Flesh at all," Giveforward sighed, "only stating a fact. He did vote for Watch the Skies."

She still thought that meant the wolves wanted them to target the dragon but perhaps she was wrong. Who knew. (Not her.)

She kept bouncing ideas and thoughts around her head but none made her feel ready to vote just yet.

"Me?" Nightingale squeaked. "You think I'm suspicious because I don't talk?" She trembled a little. "The truth is, I'm...just...really...scared...of crowds." Even the effort of defending herself made her blush, obviously, beneath her wispy pale fur.

"A-anyway...I think, there's no need for predators to vote for a kin who is already about to be removed from the running if they can cast suspicion on someone else...B-Bitter End was alone in voting for Story even as many other kin were voting for The Once and Future King." Nightingale paused to steady herself. "Her reasoning made little sense in a game where the roles are random. Other kin voted for other kin at the time, but they offered sound reasoning or chose at random. I will vote for her." She stared down at her hooves the entire time, uncertain about naming a kin no one else had selected.

End was perturbed, perhaps even egotistically wounded, that Story seemed to be so unfussed...but a true threat would not be so easily intimidated. As the game continued ruthlessly, she cast lingering looks at him as the opinions of others drifted back and forth. The names of those gone barely meant anything to her, being that there were still so many left. As she turned away, he - and Sleepless - remained in the corner of her eye. Once those around him started to fall, she would revel in the knowledge she was right, in a morbid sort of way.

When her name was called, her lips curled into an unpleasant, wry grin. "But of course," she said, looking the almost-pristine doe up and down, flipping the length of her hair out of her eyes. "Some randomly picked, because almost everything is random, of course - just as random as the prey that you pick to kill for your supper. As random as the fruit that falls from a tree that you decide to eat. Surely none of us are swayed by where we are, what we see, hear, or decide, impulsively. It's random. That's why a whole group of kin are voting as a jury, instead of trusting the decisions of one."

Her tone turned airy. "But I won't pick on a poor little doe that doesn't talk."

Perhaps it was his good looks, or the frequency of his voice, but whatever it was, End decisively voted for Wintershadow, pretending to continue applying some sort of logic: "Maybe it's the handsome one with the feathered white hair." She was not good with names. "He speaks quite a bit for a buck who seems to be uncomfortable with attention."

Blooming nodded at the voices once more. She decided that it was time to cast her own vote. Having listened long enough, she didn't want her nerve to get the best of her!

"I think I shall be voting Doubleback. The reasoning stated behind the vote seems sound enough to me when we have such little amount of information to go off of." Blooming felt confident in her choice. Even if it turned out to be the wrong one.
