"Wow, that was fast. " Faraday remarked as he unhooked the cord and then retrieved his pokedex as it was spat back out. He looked it over a moment before snapping it open, feeling Dresden’s head shift to look at it as well.
"... So, what did you do exactly? It doesn’t look like much changed. " He remarked as he browsed through the device. It seemed exactly the same as before, same screen, same appearance, same display format; what was different?
"I told you I wasn't changing that much." Addison remarked through the call, her tone seeming to suggest that Faraday redirect his gaze to the call at hand as opposed to looking the device over. Dresden had beat his trainer to the punch on that regards, staring intently through the screen at the familiar face. The man adjusted his gaze as well.
"Well…?"
"A pokedex is a powerful tool. It has a unique ability to read pokemon that you’ve specifically captured in more detail than just ones you’ve encountered in the wild." Addison started to explain. "For example, you can check the moves of your own recorded pokemon and the data you collect is also shared back to the professors." Faraday’s head was bobbing along as he listened, trying hard to look interested. He was at least half-interested though he was certainly no tech-savant. He understood enough to work his gadgets and device but any deeper and he became boggled.
"Okay…," He remarked after a longer than normal pause. "Basically, I just tinkered with how the pokemon reading works so that you can track your pokemon through your pokedex now. It’ll be better in the long run and less conspicuous." Addison wrapped up her explanation is as few words as possible. And for the most part, that was enough to re-peak the man’s interest. Gaze shifting back to the device, he browsed through it until he found the aforementioned means of tracking, noting the device pointing right to two little blips in the pokemon center. A little more browsing and he noted another blip hovering outside the town on the routes outside. That was probably Calcifer. Good to know.

Entering into the small town of Oldale, Eon was fully ready to simply pass through, though her plans were halted when suddenly, Origin, the Tyrunt released himself. The recently revived half-dragon was very curious of the world, as to be expected. Eon watched as he wandered off to inspect various objects around them. "Origin... Come on we need to get moving." Eon protested, approaching the dragon with a hand on his head. He glanced up a moment, paused in thought then casually walked in the opposite direction Eon had motioned. "O-origin!" Frowning, she turned towards Luffy, who simply shrugged his shoulders. "I guess we really don't need to get moving, but... Origin, just don't wander to far." Eon instructed.
During her search of her bag, Eon had come across a few objects she hadn't remembered packing away, likely gifts from the family she'd stayed with. Most of it seemed useless to her, so likely it was just a means to earn some cash. It just so happened this little out of the way town actually had a Pokemart. "I should do some shopping while we're here. You know... for essentials. Luffy, can you stay with Origin?" Luffy nodded, floating away to join the dragon in it's search for new things to investigate. With Saga, Eon headed towards the Pokemart.

Finished with her shopping in no time at all, Eon returned to the town's streets to find Luffy and Origin not to far away. Luffy had done a fine job keeping Origin out of trouble, much to Eon's relief. She felt like this little one was going to be more like a child then anything else. It made her fear how Sylph, her Anorith was going to act as well. Though, it made her fairly curious. What was so special about these fossil Pokemon? Origin, though she hadn't seem many of his kind, seemed completely normal. childish perhaps, but normal nonetheless. "How is everything?" Eon pondered when she approached the two. Origin turned quickly, pushing his head into Eon's legs, while Luffy informed Eon of the Tyrunt's various reactions to various things. "Interesting..." Eon eventually replied, running a hand along Origin's head. "Well, I've gotten everything we'll need for future endeavors, so why don't we set up camp for today and set off officially for Petalburg tomorrow?" There was a whole day to do exploring, and neither Luffy, Origin or Saga had anything against the idea.
Shortly later, Eon had set up her tent, and formed a makeshift pit for a fire they'd light up later in the evening. For now, it was just time to relax or explore. Releasing her entire collection of Pokemon, Eon formally introduced the four new additions to the rest of the team. Giving them their respective Nicknames, each Pokemon gathered with another to talk or explore or whatever suited their fancy. Eon in the meantime went back to her bag, intrigued by some of the items she'd found within. She'd entirely forgot about some of them, others she was sure the family from Pacifilog Town had given her. "Letters, and this... It says 'Junior Explorer's Kit' Whatever that is." Eon set both to the side. "And what is this exactly?" Holding up a clay figurine, Luffy floated over with a grin. 'I know what that is!' He proclaimed. 'It's an Incense burner, but not just any incense burner!' He seemed far to excited over this. Though knowing now it was an incense burner, the urge to burn something came to mind. Setting it down over the makeshift pit, she noticed there was already something inside. Pushing in a bit of dry grass, she quickly asked Aki to light it up. At least Aki's puny flame was useful for something. Unknowingly though... Eon had just triggered an event she may or may not come to regret.

At first nothing happened. The incense wafted a refreshing scent of burning grass and fruit, so it was calming really. Eon felt her bag move under her head, and when she looked down she found Origin, head first inside it. His large head was almost as big as his fossil had been, but more so Eon was startled, and quickly began to pull her bag away from the dragon. Once she managed to free it from Origin's head, she noticed one of the Tm's she'd obtained clasped in his maw, a second later... it was gone. Like a blink of an eye, it vanished. He hadn't consumed it, rather it absorbed into his scales. "Origin... Sheesh, what did you just use up?" She pondered, reaching into her bag to pull out the Pokedex, only for her hand to grab one of the egg-shaped stones she'd also collected. Origin suddenly grew excited, and practically climbed over Eon to get to the stone. Once he did,swallowed it hole. "Origin!" Well, his esophagus seemed big enough to handle it... hopefully that wasn't going to harm him.
Her worries for Origin's insides were quickly put to the side when suddenly the ground began to shake. As if an Earthquake had suddenly struck, Eon quickly collected her things, pushing herself closer to Saga, who'd risen to her feet, head arched so she could hear around them better ."S-" Eon wasn't able to finish that sentiment before a giant Onix flew from the ground, opening a giant hole where the fire pit had once been. The Incense burner flew into the air, falling own upon the hard shell of an Aron. Eon found they were quickly becoming trapped at all angles by various Pokemon... all rock-types. 'Oh, so it was that kind of incense. Neat.' Luffy chuckled, his mood light given the circumstance they were in. "They've completely boxed us in... how are we-" Her gaze fell upon Origin, facing down an Aron. It leaped forward, Tackling Origin, who quickly brushed it off and playfully enacted his new move... Earthquake.
As the ground shook once more, Luffy called upon his Esp to lift Eon and various team members into the air, saving them from having to deal with the shaking earth. Saga had leaped into a nearby tree, strongly resisting the fact that all around them the earth was buckling. This sort of devastation... Eon hoped it didn't reach Oldale.

Disturbed by the earthquake, the Onix that originally had erupted from the earth released a loud roar, furiously snapping at the mid-air Eon. Origin quickly put an end tot his, having dealt with the Aron, he turned his attention on the Onix threatening Eon. Rushing forward the dragon bounded into the air, slamming his feet back onto the already broke soil and enacted another Earthquake, this time taking out the giant rock snake. Luckily it appeared of the abundant Pokemon, there had only been one Onix. Behind Origin a bold Rhyhorn began to charge towards the dragon. "Origin, behind you!" Eon called. She could see really well from the air. Surrounding them were many Pokemon, all of the Rock-type variety. Not all of them were even native to Hoenn at that. The Rhyhorn and Onix for example, but amongst them were also some Pokemon Eon couldn't even imagine had existed. Her Pokedex was getting a work out today. "Dwebble? Carbink? How odd..." But what was odder was the lack of fossil Pokemon. If she was such a big fossil magnet.. why weren't any showing up? She'd likely argue with herself that it's because their known as fossil Pokemon for a reason. They were extinct, but... Undine was a special case. She'd yet to figure out Undine's origin.

Another rock-type quickly crossed over to the upturned Rhyhorn and aided it back to it's feet. With a disgruntled huff, the Rhyhorn retreated back into the woods, Eon watched as the other rock-types seemed to follow, though, most seemed to simply vanish into thin air rather then vanish into the thick brush. Luffy quickly let Eon down on the ground, where the amnesiac soon discovered the incense burner had actually been crushed. "They looked like illusions just now.. but how could an illusion crush this?" She asked holding up the small reed that still burned lightly. Luffy floated down, shrugging his shoulders. 'Who knows, those Incense things are odd.' He replied. Eon glanced up, arching a brow at the feline. He seemed to know something about these things, but rather than ask him she'd simply avoid them for the time being. Whatever the case, she turned quickly to find Origin sniffing at the ground.. as if looking for something. "They're all gone, Origin." Eon called over to him. Standing up she looked around their camp. The campsite was a complete bust, but luckily the tent still seemed in good enough condition. "Well, there goes my camping trip." She chuckled. "Let's pack everything up and start heading for Petalburg."

Faraday spent another minute or so fiddling with the pokedex and its newly acquired function, getting a feel for the application once more. It wasn’t much different from what he’d used on his Xtransceiver, though it was better incorporated and less apparent. Not that he’d ever had trouble before, but it was wise to do what he could to keep his cover.
"I’ve got to admit Addi, that’s some impressive work-" He started to comment, a sharp huff from the other side of his device halting his words. The older man’s brow furrowed just a bit as he looked through the screen at the agitated expression of his contact.
"Don’t. Call me ‘Addi’." Was the curt remark he received. Faraday’s head tilted in a sort of apathetic fashion, an eyebrow quirking. It was a bit of a slip up on his part, but they’d worked together long enough that he couldn’t help but think she’d be used to it by now. It wasn’t some terrible pet name after all. "Riiggghhtt… sorry then." He remarked, putting the pokedex back into his bag. His coat was still occupying a majority of the space in there and he was really hankering to put it back on. He’d have to refrain for just a bit though. What a pain.

Dresden gave a little huff once the device was put away. He knew all about the little gadgets that Faraday made use of. It was practically a requirement for him to have a clue for himself; you never knew when Faraday might go missing and it’d be his duty to put together a recovery team. Not that he’d had to yet but… there was always a chance with the man. Leaving him to his business, he hopped back down to the ground, wandering his way over to check on Murphy, who had moved from digging around in the plant pot to trying to squeeze under one of the seats to search.
"I’ve removed the application from your Xtransceiver already, so it won’t work any further. I also updated information from your Pokedex." She remarked. "For now you’re apparently Matthew Dixon?" Faraday gave a smile as he noted the look. "Good, good. You’re always on top of things aren’t you?" He shifted a bit, glancing at Dresden and Murphy. He still needed to find Calcifer. "You said you had something else for me? I’m thinking I know exactly what it is, hm?" Addison nodded, fiddling around on her computer once more. The transporter on the PC fired up and a split second later a new pokeball was found resting on the platform. Faraday couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face as he retrieved the ball, rolling it in the palm of his hand.
"She has all the things you asked me to give her. They’re sturdy too so they should last a while, though I should hope you don’t need to use them too often. And if you do, preferably not for magic." Her tone sharpened as she spoke the last line. Faraday rolled his eyes, the grin remaining though. "Did you have any plans for the Mudkip? Or is she just another one for your tricks…," Faraday gave a frown, redirecting his attention from the pokeball to his wrist; he really needed to stop shifting his gaze around when in a call. It was a level of rude, though his mind was racing with all the potential ideas. Something Addison had said broke his focus though. With a frown, he gripped the pokeball. "What was that?"

"… I said did you need me to do anything for your Mudkip, or did you have other plans for her…" Faraday gave a curious gaze. "Oh…? It’s a girl?" He’d never been the best fact checker on that kind of thing when it came to pokemon, if Dresden was any indicator. The brunette on the other side of the call gave a heavy sigh, a hand rubbing at her face. "Yes Faraday… it’s a girl."
"Ah well, that doesn’t change a thing. Good to know though." He remarked, putting the newly acquired pokeball on his belt as he glanced back at Murphy. The name wasn’t changing; he had said he was sticking with it. "But no, not at the moment. I still need to see what she can do and all. But if I get any ideas, you’ll be the first to know." And he certainly would too, but at the moment he didn't really have any ideas concerning his newly acquired starter. He was sure though they would start springing forth like a fountain once they'd traveled a bit. That's certainly how most of his ideas game to fruition, that or they existed well before he had a pokemon in mind to assist him. Either way, Murphy would find her place, he was positive about that.

A few more minutes and Faraday had finished up his conversation, the grin that had previously occupied his face now reduced to a thin line of displeasure. Apparently, his first task was not reconnaissance like he had been hoping, but rather to get his first gym badge. Exactly why this was important was beyond his comprehension, less because of the need and more because it was a waste of his purpose. Sure, he was undercover as a trainer but… really? Was pulling the whole journey thing that necessary?
Still until he had that badge in his badge case, he’d be receiving no further information on potential investigations. And while he was aggravated, the detective would do what was needed of him. After all, he knew better than to expect any kind of instant action while undercover. At least, not with such a simple cover. It was still a bit of a disappointment though; one he would just have to learn to live with. Luckily, with a little work he could probably have his first badge in no time. In fact a quick check and was able to note the type of the first gym leader. Roxanne with rock-types. Perfect. Murphy would do well against the gym, Dresden would be his back-up. Perfect! He’d be on to doing important things in no time.

With his technological needs handled and no reason to use the pokemon centers other services, he started to head out a hand waving through the air in the direction of his pokemon. "Come on you two, let’s get a move on." He called as he stepped out the door; Dresden perked up and ushered Murphy away from her under the chair to follow after their trainer. The Mudkip chirped curiously, blinking and quickly skipping after the man. She attempted to do what she’d seen the Buneary do early, trying to jump her way up onto Faraday’s shoulder. Unfortunately, she lacked that natural boost that came with a jumper’s nature, instead softly smacking her head into the back of the detective’s leg. Faraday paused at the feeling to give her a curious look.
"Mm?" The man paused, a hand swiping some hair to the side. "What’s up, Murphy?" He inquired. "Mud! Mud mudkip!”" She gave a shake of her head to wiggle off the recoil from the bump. She tried to jump again but failed, colliding with her trainer’s leg again and tumbling over again. Faraday tilted his head a bit curious at the attempt. Was she trying to hitch a ride? As if on cue, Dresden hopped up and took a perch on his shoulder once more, eyeing the mud fish with an observant gaze. "What’s the matter?" Faraday questioned.
"Mud!" Was the response he received, an expectant look crossing the mud fish’s face as she looked between the Buneary and Faraday her tail wiggling. Faraday gave a thoughtful ‘hm’, giving a soft smile. Offered a hand out, Murphy glancing between it and him curiously. He gave a little jerk of his head as indication for her to hop up. "It’s fine. Dresden gets free rides all the time, what’s one more little body?" He heard Dresden huff in his ear at the remark. It was true.

Murphy’s eyes seemed to shimmer before she quickly shuffled her way up his arm and right into the one spot he was familiar with. With a bit of a commotion she plopped herself down the top of the detective’s shirt, flipping about so her head poked out the top with a gleeful little cry, much to her trainer’s surprise.
"Well now, I take you liked my introduction, hm?" He joked. Murphy wiggled again. "Mudkip~!" She chirped approvingly, prompting a smile from Faraday as he got back up to his feet, Dresden still eyeing his new occupant with less than an amused look. "Alright then. Let’s get moving you two." Both pokemon gave little indicators of agreement and without any further hesitation, they started to move along.

Ari wasn't necessarily sure what she was doing, but she knew it wasn't what she left home to do. She could just see Adrian shaking his head at her in disappointment. Well, not so much disappointment....More like disapproval. Alright! This was it! Ari had a goal in mind, and she'd be damned if she let some lazy spunk keep her from it!
