The sensation of being pulled through a rift in space and time was not a comfortable one for someone that was wide awake. Thankfully, Sable didn't have to suffer through it for very long as she and Jin were deposited on a flat surface. Flat, red, and hot from sitting out in the sun for a while. Sable let out a couple of squeaks as she tried to adjust herself so that it was primarily clothed parts of her body in contact with the surface of whatever she was on. It didn't work perfectly, but at least it kept her from getting burned by the red surface. It was also enough to get her to focus less on the pain she felt from the heat and instead put her attention towards seeing where, exactly, she had ended up. It was solid enough to bear her weight, but beyond that, it didn't look like ground. It seemed to be rather high off the ground, but not so high that she wouldn't have been too hesitant to drop down unassisted if it weren't for the fact that Jin wasn't looking like he was ready to follow suit any time soon. Even though his illusions hid his injuries easily enough, the fact that the disguised zorua wasn't making an attempt to even raise his head was an obvious enough hint to Sable that something was wrong.
Merlin wouldn't be getting much of a response from Jin, but Sable certainly looked around when the clefairy's voice rang out in her head."I'm, um, alrihd. I guess,"she answered aloud in a voice barely above a mutter, not that she needed to. Merlin would be able to hear her thoughts loud and clear, although the amount of cursing layered underneath was possibly on the surprising side."Jin's nod looging so good, dough..."Again, the teen kept her voice at a mutter as she looked over the dark type, trying to find any actual injuries."C'mon, I gnow someding's up."That, along with a bit of gentle prodding, managed to get a groan out of the disguised zorua, at least. That was about it, though, and Sable sighed for a moment before checking his illusionary appearance's belt for his ball. She was sure he'd be pretty annoyed at her for it, but it was either that or try to shove him onto her board, and this was definitely the easier route for both of them.
With Jin recalled, Sable gave Aku and Honey an apologetic look."I ding I can ged down on my own, so you du ged some res now, ogay?"The two pokemon nodded at the request, so Sable recalled them, too. After that, it was just a matter of getting off the roof, which was a lot easier than it sounded due to the roof being mostly flat as opposed to at some sort of steep angle. Aside from the bits of stinging pain she felt from the cuts and scrapes along her body, it was no trouble at all for Sable to get to an edge and just drop down. Okay, maybe a bit of trouble, given she needed a three-point landing, but she didn't hurt herself in the process, so the teen stood up and made her way inside the pokemon center now that she was off of its roof.
Once inside, Sable made her way over to the counter within the building."Miss? Could I please ged dese pokemon healed?"the teen asked as she set the balls containing her zorua and gekkit on the counter."Of course! And you look like you could use some healing yourself,"the pink-haired nurse replied as she had the two pokeballs sent to where the pokemon within could be looked over. Even though the pants and cloak she wore partially covered it, Sable still looked rather torn up."Do you think you'll need any help getting yourself cleaned up?"Sable let out a brief, uncomfortable grumble at the nurse's question. It was a perfectly reasonable question, but it still made the teen uncomfortable."I'm sure I can ged mosd of id, and I've, uh, god a couple of people I can asg if I really need id,"she answered before letting the nurse get on with her work. The teen felt rather uncertain as she made her way to her room to get herself cleaned up.

Gavyn did not feel much like leaving the tree. There was just something so relaxing about being up there, especially after all that had happened today. With a light sigh, he continued to hug himself against the branches, barely a burden to them. He wasn't aware that something was watching him between the leaves.
There was a Florges adorned with bright orange flowers peering at the odd human that had appeared in the same tree she had. This was certainly not her garden. In fact, this place didn't seem familiar at all to her. But the boy... she could sense that he had many grass types, and had a feeling that he cared for plants just as much as she did. Perhaps it was fate that she'd find this boy after having suddenly been pulled from her garden. He ... certainly seemed silly, clinging to the branches like that. After a moment more of staring at him through the leaves, she quietly moved towards him, perching on a branch beside him.
"Flooor?"
Gavyn was easily startled at the sudden sound, the branches beneath him creaking a bit in complaint at his sudden shift. "O-oh... uh, h-hi there... I'm sorry... am i disturbing you?" Gavyn mumbled, embarrassed. Before he could feel too bad, he noticed the flowery pokemon shake it's head in a 'no' gesture. She then pointed at his bag, cooing lightly. The brunette was confused at first. He didn't even know what kind of pokemon this was, though it was quite pretty. After a moment, Gavyn reached to his bag, opening it. He had no idea what it was she wanted from him for a bit. "Floor flooor!" she exclaimed, seeming to have a glisten in her eyes upon spotting some pokeballs. "O-oh! Er... did you... want to join me?" he questioned, starting to catch on. The pokemon nodded vigorously, moving closer. He held out a ball, and she allowed herself to get sucked in and captured.
"That was a Florges you just caught. She's a fairy type. They are known as guardians of especially good gardens." Data stated from the pokedex.
Gavyn nearly dropped the ball in surprise as his porygon informed him on the pokemon. Jeeze, that was still really new to him. Having a strange device in his bag, speaking without warning. "Er... Th-thanks, Data..." he muttered, then decided to let the Florges back out. He wouldn't mind her company right now. The Florges seemed a bit happier now when it popped out of the pokeball, scooting close to her trainer. "You look like you have a collection of marigolds around you... Heh, i guess that would be a good name for you?" Gavyn commented, then questioned the Florges. She seemed to accept the name Marigold happily.
Merlin was glad to hear from the other two humans, though he found it a bit odd that Jin didn't respond. He found out why through Sable. And couldn't help but chuckle to himself a bit, as her thoughts had been filled with curse words. He hadn't expected such a thing from any female, but he supposed it made sense - so far as he could tell, Sable was certainly not an ordinary girl. "I'm not too far from the pokemon center myself. Uh, but Gavy is up in a tree." Merlin telepathically announced to the two humans. He looked over his shoulder over to the trees a little ways away, bordering Cerulean. "Gavy, are you going to come down any time soon?" the Clefairy called out to his trainer. "N-no." Gavyn answered quite briefly. The pink fairy sighed. "Aaaand now i'm not sure if he's stuck up there or just being stubborn." Merlin relayed to the other two humans.

Sable's confirmation of being okay meant that everyone was here. That was good, Darren could breathe a little easier as he made his way out of his room and towards the lobby of the pokemon center, explaining where he was so that maybe they could all regroup, but Merlin explained that Gavyn was in a tree, and possibly stuck. Darren giggled and nodded despite the fact that Merlin couldn't see him. "Alright well I guess there's no rush, since we need some time to recover. If Gavyn wants to take that time in a tree, then more power to him." Darren grinned. As he entered the lobby, Darren stopped by the front desk, handing Hercules' ball over to the pink haired nurse. Hercules had done well in the distortion world, save for that one wicked meowth. Darren had made sure to dress all of the mud fish's wounds when he could, but he was no professional like Nurse Joy, so it was probably best to have Hercules looked over. Once the water type was checked out and given back to him, Darren turned towards the doors, but then noticed that Sable had come in. He greeted her with a small smile but stepped aside, allowing her to turn over her hurt pokemon to the nurse.
Joy of course took the pokemon, though she had to comment on Sable's sorry state, insisting that she could use some healing as well, and asking if she needed help in getting cleaned up. "Oh, I can probably---" Darren started to offer on instinct, speaking simultaneously as Sable insisted that she could probably get most of it herself, Darren quickly cut himself off though, realizing the implications, and sheepishly he quickly turned away from the two women, stuffing his face into his pokedex to hide his embarrassment while praying to Arceus that his words had been lost in Sable's own. He was just eager to help, but anything Sable would have trouble cleaning was.... Probably not something she would want him helping with. Darren grimaced and bit his cheek. He really should learn to think before he blurted out his thoughts like that. He kept absentmindedly flipping through his pokedex entries, mostly Kanto in an effort to try and figure out what other pokemon he could find in the area while Sable got herself fixed up and battled Misty. Cerulean had a few pokemon that Darren hadn't caught yet, so he could probably busy himself with trying to find himself an abra, and a meowth, or maybe go get a fishing rod and test the waters by the---
Darren stiffened, staring at his pokedex in horror. "Oh no....." He whispered. "Oh noooooooooooooo......" He whined, suddenly quite upset. A legendary, a legendary pokemon had been right there above him, and he hadn't even so much as thought to scan it with his pokedex. He scrolled quickly through the Sinnoh section, but just as he feared, there was no recorded information on a giratina sighting since he hadn't scanned it. Darren's heart sank. When would he ever get an opportunity like that again? The chances were about one in a million. Now that he thought about it, the only proof he had of seeing that Moltres at the Tanabata was Sable's oddly angled picture. Darren hadn't managed to think to scan that legend either. Arceus he was awful at this. The wannabe professor drooped over the back of the lobby couch in dismay, pouting a bit in disappointment at his revelation.

Sable let out a light sigh as Merlin passed on that while Darren and himself were fine, Gavyn was in a tree and wasn't coming down. The wordalrightpassed through her thoughts as she recalled her pokemon.If he feels like staying up there, then he can stay there for a bit. If he's still up there by the time I'm done getting bandaged up, though, I'll go see about finding him and helping him down.As much as the teen would have rather gone to see if Gavyn needed help then and there, it seemed that her current appearance just made the poor guy flustered, so she figured it was better to avoid causing any problems and just made her way into the pokemon center instead.
Since she had landed on the roof of the building when the group was flushed out of the Distortion World, Sable didn't have to go far at all to get her pokemon brought in. She returned Darren's smile with one of her own, but soon got down to the business of turning her pokemon over to be healed. Of course, the nurse couldn't help but comment on the teen's state and question whether or not she could handle it on her own. Sable's first thought was to insist that she could, but as she did so, she heard Darren start to offer something before growing quiet and walking off. Hurriedly, Sable added on a comment on possibly knowing someone that could help before changing her plans a bit and following Darren over to one of the couches in the lobby. It wasn't a perfect choice from her point of view, but she at least trusted Darren enough that she didn't think he'd be a problem.
Sable didn't quite notice that Darren was looking over his pokedex when she tried to talk to him. Mostly, since she was a bit too embarrassed about her question to actually look at him."A-acdually, Darren... I was ginda wondering, since you don'd seem da dype du... Ya know... dry anyding, if you'd-"That was about as far as the teen had gotten before Darren let out a large whine of a "no." Sable was quiet for a moment, not noticing that the vocal complaint was due to Darren's realization that he had forgotten to scan a few really rare pokemon."...Nevermind..."she managed to say after a few moments."I'll... Figure someding oud and ged id done myself..."she said with some hesitation, although she was certainly loud enough that unless he was shutting everything out, Darren would be able to hear her clearly. With that, the teen started to make her way out of the lobby, thinking about how she'd go about getting herself bandaged up. It was easy for the most part, just requiring more bandages than she'd like. The upper back was going to be a problem, though, and if she couldn't get some help with it, she'd have to be creative.

Darren nodded a bit in agreement as Sable suggested that if Gavyn was still in the tree by the time they were finished up, they could see about helping the poor boy down. He and Sable met up in the lobby of the pokemon center so that they could heal up their pokemon, though as Sable and Nurse Joy had a short conversation about getting Sable's wounds treated too, Darren quickly helped himself out of the discussion, embarrassed that he'd even attempted to throw himself into that situation. Instead he decided to distract himself with his pokedex, only to realize how he'd made the critical mistake of forgetting to scan the Giratina, and not to mention the moltres he and Sable had encountered at the Tanabata, to his pokedex, letting out a whiny "nooooo" just as Sable approached him and started to speak. In truth he hadn't heard a word of what she'd said, but judging from her reaction, she clearly had taken his comment poorly, perhaps assuming it was directed at whatever she had said. "W-wait.... What?" Darren turned his attention to Sable with confused concern and jogged to catch up with her as she briskly walked out of the lobby and towards the overnight rooms down the hall.
"Sable?" Darren gently took her wrist in an attempt to coax her to stop and wait. "I'm sorry, that wasn't directed at you, I just realized that I forgot to scan that giratina when it showed up. I didn't hear what you said at all, or, notice that you had approached me and started talking until after the fact." He smiled sheepishly. "I mean.... That's the second time I've missed scanning a legendary now, since I didn't think about trying to scan that moltres either when we came across it, and I doubt that the professors would accept a photograph. Could you imagine if I could bring Professor Oak information on a legendary though?! That would be my ticket to fame, something to make me stand out to the professors, and now I've missed it. Twice. Ugh, I just can't believe how stupid I am.... These things don't happen every day, I really need to be more cognizant." He shook his head in dismay, then hesitated, realizing that he was being insensitive by derailing from the issue at hand onto his own woes. "S-sorry, the point is, my realization was just poorly timed, I'd be happy to help with... Whatever it was you were asking of me earlier. I just didn't hear you ask, honest!" He held his hands up defensively with a nervous grin, letting go of her arm.

Admittedly, Sable was a little miffed about what she had assumed was Darren's reaction to her question. ...Okay, that was a lie. To even claim she was merely "miffed" was a large lie. She didn't want to be too angry at the teen for what she felt was a stupid request on her part, though, so Sable tried to push down her own feelings of embarrassment as she briskly walked down the hall. She only stopped when she felt her wrist get grabbed, aware enough about who was doing the grabbing that she didn't tense up in response."Hn?"The teen wasn't surprised that Darren was apologizing for getting her mad, although she grimaced when he revealed it was poor timing rather than anything she actually said that caused the misunderstanding in the first place."Ah... Yeah, I guess I can see why you'd have dad reacdon... I guess I'd feel the same if I were you,"she agreed once Darren explained his woes, then wrapped an arm around his side briefly, a bit too short to get him by the shoulder. As soon as the teen recalled that she still had dirt and dried blood on her, though, Sable quickly pulled her arm back, immediately regretting the attempt at a comforting hug.
It was probably for the better, as Darren went back to apologizing for not hearing her original question. Right, that."A-agdually..."The teen couldn't help but rub the back of her admittedly-matted hair as she sheepishly tried to muster whatever boldness she had left from mere moments ago."I was ginda wondering if... Um... You'd be willing to sdop by my room in aboud... Oh... dirdy minudes or so?"It wasn't her best estimate, but if she was off, she could always ask him to wait outside a bit longer, couldn't she? Easier, is all..."It was, to the teen, a rather lame end to a horribly awkward question, and she found herself glancing downwards despite at least wanting to take his answer face to face. Regardless of what Darren answered, Sable'd end up heading back to her room to get cleaned up and hopefully get some steam in her. The hot water and air could help relax the pain for a few moments, and there would be plenty of time for getting an ice pack on the bridge of her nose after she got her other injuries taken care of first.

Darren felt somewhat relieved when Sable calmed down, accepting his apology and explanation, and understanding why he would feel the way he did. Though, when she wrapped an arm around him in an attempt of a one armed hug, Darren was taken aback a little, but ultimately he smiled and rested his head atop hers, hugging her back gently as well, at least until she pulled back. Darren honestly hadn't thought about her grimy state, just happy that she was here and well enough to even give him the hug. As she pulled away, there was a bit of dirt residue and blood spotting left behind on his jacket, but Darren didn't really seem to mind, dusting off what dirt he could–sadly he'd seen far worse–and mentioning that he would be happy to help with whatever she had been requesting of him earlier. Though, he needed to know what that request was, since he hadn't heard what exactly she had asked.
Sable repeated herself somewhat, asking if he could drop by her room in thirty minutes or so. "Okay, which one is yours....?" Darren glanced down the hallway and allowing Sable some time to point it out before continuing her explanation. It was a little hard to hear or understand what exactly she was asking, her nose was just so swollen, and it seemed to be worse than before, which was a little concerning for the brunette boy but he tried not to let it distract him. From what he could gather, she was going to try and clean herself up, though she... Had a hard dime with her bag-- no wait, hard time with her upper back. Now it was Sable's turn to get defensive, insisting that he didn't have to help if he felt too uncomfortable, since she could do it herself, it just took more time and a few tries to get it right. Darren chuckled softly, finding this side of Sable unexpected, but interesting and adorable. "Yes, I can see why that would be difficult. If you're okay with it, then I'd be happy to help. I think Gavyn would certainly appreciate it, since the faster we're done here, the less time he spends potentially being stuck in that tree." Darren grinned, attempting to lighten the mood again with a bit of injected humor.
As Sable left to start cleaning up, Darren waved her off, insisting he would be back around thirty minutes as promised. In the meantime, he made his way towards his room, throwing his jacket into the washer for now. It would take about 30 minutes for the cycle to finish, so he could use it as his timer, and when it was done he could put it in the dryer before heading to Sable's room. For now, while the washer started it's cycle, Darren moved to his bag to dig out Flynn's pokeball, hesitating before sending the charmeleon out. The large red lizard grumbled a bit, as if disturbed from sleep, but otherwise seemed fine, moving to lay his head in Darren's lap. Darren smiled softly, rubbing the scales on his starter's head. "Hey bud.... How are you doing?" He asked quietly. The charmeleon gave a large yawn, and Darren chuckled. "Heh, tired I take it? Sorry, I hadn't gotten to check in on you since...." He quieted for a moment, not really wanting to think about that Mt. Moon encounter. "Do you want to go back to your pokeball?" Darren offered, but Flynn grunted, climbing up onto the bed with him and making himself comfortable, though he was careful not to set it on fire with his tail. "Yeah, I suppose the bed's more comfortable." Darren agreed, laying down next to Flynn and quickly drifting off for a nap. Thirty minutes later, a ding rang out, waking Darren up to indicate that his jacket was done washing, and that it was time to head over to Sable's room. He carefully got out of the bed in an attempt to not disturb Flynn before moving his jacket out of the washer and into the dryer, starting the cycle and carefully making his way out of the room. Flynn was still sleeping soundly, and deserved it, really, so Darren didn't want to wake him. After carefully closing the door, Darren left his room and made his way down the hall towards Sable's, knocking lightly on the door. "Sable? May I come in...?" Darren called out, awaiting her permission before entering.

The returned hug had felt rather nice to Sable, but she wasn't about to admit that. Not at the moment, anyway. Instead, she ended up breaking off the bit of affection and went back to explaining what it was she actually wanted. Easier said than done, as no matter how much of a tough person she acted like, it was always awkward for someone to ask a person that they liked to help them with a troublesome location. Especially if it was across genders, although how much more awkward that made things usually depended on preferences. The teen broke off from the explanation briefly to point out which room was hers, but soon gave Darren the reason why she wanted his help. It really was awkward to try and bandage something up when it was on the upper back. She would have been able to deal with the wrapping up part, but as far as keeping the gauze in the right spots while doing so, that was far easier said than done when working alone.
Although Darren chuckled for a moment, he didn't decline what was probably an odd request to him. When he pointed out that Gavyn would probably appreciate anything that got him help faster, Sable also let out a chuckle."Dangs. I'll, uh, see ya in a bid, den,"the teen replied before the two split ways. Darren went off to do wherever it was he wanted to in order to eat up that half hour. Possibly a bit more, not that it mattered much. As long as he showed up and wasn't early, the teen figured that it'd be fine. Sable, on the other hand, hurried into her room so that she could get herself cleaned up. Although a half hour seemed like a lot of time, she did have a lot of scratches, scrapes, and scuffs to take care of.
Once she reached the room and entered it, Sable left the door unlocked while closing it since she figured it was unlikely she'd be in any real condition to answer it once Darren arrived. After that came the task of shrugging off her clothing, which was easier this time around since she didn't have to pull her boots off. The teen tutted at the state of her camisole before tossing the shredded garment in the trash, then pulled the pin off her cloak before tossing the rest of the clothing she had been wearing into the washer. If nothing else, it was one of the mild benefits of wearing mostly dark-colored clothes with no reds. Less worrying about having to separate things. She then made her way into the shower so she could get herself cleaned up while the clothes ran through their cycle.
Sable grumbled quite a bit once she finally stepped back out of the shower, a red-tinged washcloth in hand. Although most of the wounds had closed up due to the amount of time had passed, there were still some deeper gashes that had still been leaking a bit. On top of that, the process of cleaning out and off those wounds caused a few of them to start letting out trickles of blood again. Caution and gentle scrubbing only helped so much as a preventative measure. What was really causing the groans and grumbles, though, was the sight the teen saw as she rubbed some of the condensed steam off of the mirror over the sink. Although it wasn't bothering her as much now that the hot, moist air cleared things up a bit, she was able to see quite clearly how bad off her nose was from that fall back in the Distortion World. Admittedly, it wasn't as terrible as she had initially assumed, since she could see right off the bat that it wasn't at some odd angle. That meant it probably wasn't dislocated, or that if it was, it was only by a slight amount. A bit of light pressure applied while trying to clean out the scrape on the bridge of her nose also told Sable that it wasn't broken. A nice thing to know after dealing with searing pain. With a few whimpers, the teen accepted her current assessment of the situation and toweled off, drying herself as best as possible.
When she stepped out of the bathroom, the first thing the teen did was set aside the newly-dirtied pieces of cloth for when the first load of clothes were done in the washer. Sable wore one towel on her head, her hair wrapped up in it so that it could work at drying while she focused on other things, and carried a clean one on her shoulder, but the others, along with the washcloths she used, were set aside so that they could be taken care of. She then made her way over to her bag and grabbed some supplies from it. The teen had to push back the rolled-up hair as the towel fell in front of her face a couple of times, but before long she had what she needed. So, she brought a few rolls of bandages, some gauze, and a tube of ointment over to the bed in the room. Finally, she spread out the clean towel on the bed and promptly sat on it so that she could get to work.
For a while, all Sable did was put ointment on the gauze, place that gauze where it needed to go, and wrap up the areas with the rolls of bandages. Occasionally, she'd get done enough with an area that she felt like she was able to actually get something on. It still took longer than she expected, but by the time Darren was knocking on her door, she had already gotten the lower half of her body taken care of. She even had pants on! But she still wasn't quite ready, since she was finishing up with getting the lower half of her torso wrapped up."Ah! Ah, j-just a moment!"the teen hastily called back, sounding quite a bit less clogged up now that she had that shower. She still sounded stuffy, but not to the point where it was making her difficult to understand. She then quickly worked at getting the bandages pinned in place before taking care of what needed to be taken care of on her front. If there was any bit of fortune, it was that the area around her assets hadn't suffered quite as much as the rest of her body. Which was good, because she didn't want to leave Darren standing outside for another five minutes just because she misjudged how long it'd take for her to be ready.
Once the necessary spots were dealt with, Sable tried to come up with something that would cover her up while still giving Darren easy access to the places he needed to reach. She settled for grabbing one of the nearby pillows and hugging it close to her chest for the time being."A-alright... You can come in, now..."She didn't exactly sound certain, but it needed to be done, so the teen figured she'd have to endure whatever embarrassment there might be."If, ah, you need any more bandages or anything... There should be some more in my bag..."Not that he'd probably need much more than she already had laying around on the bed, but it would be better for him to know where he could find it ahead of time instead of needing to be told right when he needed it.

As Sable called out hastily that she needed another moment, Darren jumped away from the door as if it bit him. He hadn't started opening it or anything, wanting to play it safe rather than assuming Sable was ready for him. In this case, it was a good assumption given her reaction. After his initial surprise wore off though, Darren chuckled, moving closer to the door. "Hey, no worries, take your time." Darren insisted, a little louder than his usual volume so that it got through the door, but otherwise on the other side it probably sounded casual... Maybe. Darren wasn't sure, but he hoped it at least put Sable at ease while she scrambled to make herself decent. As he waited, Darren resisted the urge to whistle awkwardly, and instead settled for shuffling his feet and rubbing the back of his head as he leaned against the door. While her reply to his knocking had been frantic, she had sounded a lot clearer, not nearly as nasally and stuffed up as she had been before. Though, whether that was due to her minor panic, or because she had actually cleared up, remained to be seen. Darren hoped for the latter.
Eventually after much shuffling and muttering, Sable spoke up again, hesitantly allowing him entrance. "You sure? Heh. You sound uncertain." Darren laughed nervously as he cautiously opened the door and stepped inside, giving her time to change her mind, but since there were no further objections, he eventually he made it in and closed the door quickly behind him, averting his eyes a bit. Sure, she had a pillow, but that didn't really lessen the fact that there was nothing else. He stole a glance or two to check on how her injuries were doing, but didn't linger, not wanting to stare and make her feel uncomfortable. Her lower half was covered, so he focused on her arms and face. Her nose was still a swollen purple sight, but the swelling seemed to have reduced, which explained her clearer words. The scrapes on her arms were clean now and patched up, which meant all that was left now was her back, his job. As he approached the bed, Sable made small talk, mentioning that there were more supplies in her bag should he need them, but one look at the bed and Darren doubted he would need the extra supplies. "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind, but I think there's more than enough here." He motioned to the pile of gauze, medical tape, and ointment strewn across the mattress. "Let me wash my hands first, I'll be right back." He nodded, moving to the bathroom. He made sure to use lots of soap and hot water, cleaning his hands thoroughly before he came back and climbed up onto the bed.
Taking a seat behind Sable, Darren grabbed a tube of ointment and unscrewed the cap. "I... Want to apologize in advance if my work is sloppy.... I'm used to treating pokemon, not people." Darren said with a bit of a nervous smile, though Sable couldn't see it. He squeezed some of the ointment out onto his index finger and gently spread it across the various cuts and gashes across her back, being extra careful not to push too hard against the deeper cuts. He was certain she could handle it, but that didn't make the idea of hurting her any more tolerable to him. After each cut was covered in ointment, Darren applied gauze with a bit of pressure and taped it over. Some were easier than others, since there were a few that broke out bleeding upon being touched with ointment. Darren would tsk in disappointment and quickly wipe it up with the nearest available gauze, put on pressure, and wait to try again to apply ointment afterwards. "What happened here...?" Darren would often inquire to pass the time. Sometimes it would be an inquiry about one of the fresher cuts, other times an older scar, but each time an empathetic wince was audible in his tone, if not his general concern over her well being.
Eventually, all of the cuts and scratches were patched up, which left the issue of bandaging her upper body. Darren figured as long as he sat directly behind Sable, there wouldn't be any real issue. He unrolled some of the bandage and placed the tip high, aligning it in the center with the start of her armpit and holding it down with a thumb. "Why don't I just... Stay here, and pass the roll to you, and you can bring it back around to me...." Darren offered sheepishly, looking away and holding the roll of cloth bandage out to her left side.

Disgruntled, Cyrus entered Cerulean City once more. This day was turning out to be increasingly annoying. He decided that before anything else could happen, he'd head right for the gym. Opening the door, he cringed at that chemical smell that pools had. Gross. Argo perched on his shoulder as he walked his way towards the back of the gym to face Misty. Cyrus, as usual, had a bored expression on his face. "I'm here to challenge you. Let's just get it over with." Cyrus stated. He just wanted to complete this battle, take his winnings and find a nice place to stay the night. And treat himself after the hell of a day he has had.
The dark skinned male sent out his Rattata, Stow. Who was quite eager for battle, sporting a Choice Scarf around it's neck. It certainly gained a strange look from the gym leader. Perhaps she had been expecting something that looked more fierce, or had an obvious type advantage? She sent out her Staryu. "Stow. Thunder." Cyrus stated. Not like he had to tell the rat what to do - it was so eager to battle that there were sparks on it's whiskers before a large bolt of lightening was shot at the staryu. The golden eyed male smirked to himself as the Staryu went down. Who needed a pikachu when he had this rat? He was turning out to be an excellent partner. The rat chittered in victory as Misty returned her Staryu, sending out her Starmie next.
Once more, Stow was instructed to use Thunder again, paralyzing the stronger starfish. There were sparks jumping along it's surface, and it looked weak. However, the Starmie pulled through to hit the rat with a Water Pulse. Not only that, but the attack made Stow wobble a bit, and he tripped and hurt himself on his next turn. The Starmie used another waterpulse, but the next turn, Stow absolutely fried Starmie with another Thunder attack. And like that, the battle was already over. With hardly any effort, as well.

Her cream-haired opponent and his Rattatta were the clear winners, but they'd gone down fighting-- that was more than enough for her. "Great battle!" she complimented Cyrus as she handed him his rewards, her free hand planted firmly on her hip. "I definitely didn't expect a little pokemon like that to pack that sort of punch, but I guess that's my fault. Anyway, congratulations! You've won yourself the Cascade badge and HM Cut, plus Water Pulse." Misty smirked, "it's what Starmie used and, as you saw, it has the chance to cause confusion. Put it to good use!"

Sable chuckled sheepishly when Darren questioned the lack of certainty in her voice. She was sitting on a bed, topless, with nothing but a pillow to hide behind, and about to get help bandaging up wounds on the upper half of her body from a guy she kinda sorta maybe liked a lot. What was there to be certain about?"Regardless, it needs to get done, so I might as well just get it over with,"she replied, trying to sound a bit more bold than she actually felt at the moment. When Darren actually opened the door, though, she couldn't help but hug the pillow a bit tighter to her chest. Even though the teen obviously wasn't trying to look, Sable didn't see any reason to expose herself more than necessary. She might have been fine with him seeing her in a bikini, but things were a bit different then, too. Thankfully, he seemed to be focusing more on her arms and face, although that still felt a bit awkward. She had seen for herself how bad that landing was to her nose, although she still wasn't entirely sure what the full extent of the damage was. Sable made a mental note of going to ask Nurse Joy to take a look at it later. Preferably, after the woman had some time to look over the various people and pokemon she had to deal with. Sable and Darren might have had enough experience for first aid, but the teen knew better than to put off getting a professional opinion on her nose for too long. Besides, she was also going to need an ice pack, no matter what the diagnosis was, so she'd have to go ask for that, too.
Even though it probably wasn't necessary, Sable still felt like she aught to let Darren know where the rest of her supplies were in the event that she somehow misjudged how much she needed to bring out. She chuckled a bit at Darren's assurances that things would probably be alright."Yeah, sure. No problem. The water should have heated back up some by now,"she replied jokingly when Darren talked about washing his hands first. She didn't use up all the hot water, but it hadn't been a short shower, either. Mostly, it was getting all those scrapes and gashes cleaned out that had taken up her time, since while there weren't any that were too huge, there were dozens upon dozens of them. Okay, maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration, but only by a bit. Still, while Darren was busy getting ready, Sable couldn't help but hug the pillow a bit tighter. She was starting to feel less certain about the situation being a good idea. It needed to be done, though, so it'd be rather stupid for her to back out now.
Once Darren returned, Sable was more than glad to shift her position a bit so that the male teen was mostly facing her back. When he commented on the possibility of his own work being sloppy, though, Sable couldn't help but give a sheepish chuckle."Don't worry, there's not much difference... Well, usually."She had meant to reassure the teen, but a sudden thought made her tack on a qualifier."I mean, aside from having to brush the fur out of the way before applying the ointment... Or when trying to help pokemon like grimer and ditto..."She certainly hoped it'd be easier for Darren to bandage her up than to do the same to a grimer. It didn't take long for the teen to lapse into an uncomfortable silence, though. She stayed quiet as Darren worked the ointment onto her wounds, even though several of them stung. Occasionally one of them would make her tense up some as they began bleeding again, but the most any of them got out of her in terms of sound was a quiet grunt. To help pass the time, or simply because he was curious, Darren would question her about various injuries. Each time he asked, she answered, although for the fresher cuts, all she could really say was the same thing over and over, that she pretty much got stuck in the middle of a hoard of panicked spearow due to one of those portals to the Distortion World that opened up. The older ones, though, had a few stories behind them, but Sable mostly stuck with the basics unless Darren pressed for details. Mostly, what species inflicted what injury and a few tidbits about the situation itself, most of which boiled down to "wrong place, wrong time" when all other details were omitted, but a few were more work-related, like pokemon panicking while she was treating them and her not being able to get out of the way quick enough.
It took a bit of doing, but after a while all the scratches, scrapes, and gashes were covered in ointment. Now came the truly awkward part, the bandaging. They were both rather unsure of how that was going to work, but eventually, Darren suggested that they just pass the roll back and forth as they wrapped up Sable's wounds."Y-yeah... That should work, um, fine..."she managed to agree, hesitation obvious in her voice. After all, doing that meant having to abandon the pillow, which would leave her more exposed than she would have liked. Still, it needed to be done, and she wasn't apt to back out because it was awkward. It just... Took her another moment or so before she actually was able to set down the pillow and take hold of the roll of cloth. She quickly passed it back to Darren on her right side after wrapping it across herself, although she was also careful not to get the strip of cloth twisted as she did so. It would be just their luck to have to undo some of it just because something didn't wrap around all nice and flat. Back and forth, the duo would pass the roll, and although Sable herself had trouble thinking up any conversation topics, she would try to remember to reply to any comments Darren might have made.

Sable made a good point that whether she was sure about this or not, it still needed to be done, so she may as well get it over with. "Fair enough." Darren agreed with a light nod before insisting that he should probably go wash his hands with soap and water, which, according to Sable, should have heated up some by then. "Good to know." Darren chuckled, and eventually after giving his hands a good scrub down, he made his way back to the bed, getting behind Sable so he could get to work tending to the cuts and scratches. He apologized at first for how messy his work might be, considering that he was more familiar with pokemon than people when it came to first aid. Sable shrugged it off, insisting that there wasn't much difference aside from furred pokemon or amorphous pokemon like ditto. "Heh, yeah, I don't think I need to shave part of your head to get to the injuries on your back." Darren agreed. "And you aren't gelatinous, so that makes things easier." He chuckled, though after that part of the conversation died down, they settled into an uncomfortable silence while Darren worked, until he asked about some of the marks Sable bore. He continually got the same answer for the fresh ones, it sounded like they were all caused by floating through a flock of spearow, so he stopped asking about the fresh ones and inquired occasionally about the older ones, so long as Sable was comfortable answering. He didn't really press for details, asking mostly out of sympathy and curiosity. Sable had certainly been through a lot...
In the end, Darren finished patching Sable up, and it was time for the more uncomfortable part if bandaging her torso up. To make things less awkward, Darren remained seated behind Sable, and offered to just pass the tape back and forth. Sable agreed, though hesitantly. Darren would have found it cute, if the situation weren't so awkward. It took Sable a moment before she could actually work up the nerve to let go of her pillow, but Darren didn't mind, it was completely understandable, and he let her take her time to feel as comfortable as she was going to be with it, which... Wasn't much, but it was enough to set the pillow aside, so Darren quickly handed her the tape, wanting to make this process go by as quickly as possible, for both their sakes. He was so focused on just passing the tape and keeping it untwisted, he couldn't really think of any other conversation topics. Now didn't seem like a good time anyways, it probably would have just made things more awkward. Once they got her upper half of her torso covered, Darren was able to relax a little more. "I think that's covered everything." He murmured, tightening the tape a bit more before tearing his end from the roll and tying it off. "There... Haha, I guess that's a wrap?" Darren chuckled at his little pun, standing from the bed and moving around to Sable's front to check their work now that she was covered.
Giving a light nod of approval, Darren smiled. "Not bad for a daycare hand, if I do say so myself. Shall we go rescue Gavyn from a tree...?" He chuckled, offering Sable a hand up off the bed. When she stood though, Sable teetered from fatigue, stumbling right into Darren. The brunette boy took a step back, counterbalancing them both to keep them upright, holding Sable steady. "Woah..! Careful now..." Darren chided gently. He gave her a gentle squeeze, hugging her to him, relaxing a little now that he was sure Sable was secured in his arms. "Maybe you should rest a little more..." He murmured worriedly, easing her back down onto her bed.

"Yeah yeah. Whatever. Thanks." Cyrus commented in disinterest in what the red head was actually saying, taking his prize. He then walked back out of the gym, Stow scuttling after him victoriously. The rat eventually caught up, climbing up Cy's leg and crawling into a pouch, then popping his head out to observe the surroundings. The dark haired male shoved his prizes into his bag, counting out the prize money to try and figure out how much luxury he could afford with it. Should be more than enough for some decent comfort. He put the money away in a secure pouch under his shirt before looking around. Ugh. Cerulean City... He'd rather not stay here. With the stupid cape nearby, there was always quite a few young couples out and about. He might as well make his way back down to Saffron to find a place away from that sort of thing.

Eventually, the duo managed to get Sable's injuries all wrapped up and taken care of. It felt to Sable as if things had progressed slower than they really had, given how awkward everything was. The silence didn't help, either, but she wasn't sure whether any conversations, forced or otherwise, would have made that part better. Still, it was finally done, and the two were at least comfortable enough with Darren's work that Sable let him double-check to make sure everything was going to stay in place."Just as long as there aren't any loose ends left to tie up,"the teen playfully countered when Darren couldn't help but make a pun at the situation. It was a good one from her point of view, though, so he still got some chuckles out of her to go with his own.
With the teen's approval, Sable was ready to get going. Well, almost. Sable snickered a bit at the thought of Gavyn being held hostage by an evil tree as she grabbed Darren's offered hand."Sure. Let me just throw on a- W-woah..."The teen had been keen to get a top on and get going, but as soon as she hopped up from the bed, Sable's vision went black and the teen felt disoriented. Before she could recognize the dizzy spell, Sable felt herself stumble and start falling forward, only to land against something warm and mildly soft."A-ah... Uh... Oops..."Sable was at a loss for words as Darren gently chided her, which was probably just as well. Even though she was right against him, Darren's words sounded a little fuzzy, as did her own. Still, she trusted him to help, not hurt, so she stayed against him as he hugged her and let him ease her back onto the bed once he was done. Her vision was already starting to blur back to the way it was before he started to sit her down, but she figured it was probably best for her to take his advice."Y-yeah... Guess I was more worn out than I thought..."She hadn't noticed it much before, but she did feel rather... Floaty. The teen supposed that she was just too focused on her injuries to actually notice her other problems.
Sable chuckled sheepishly as she tried to let herself relax."None of those cuts were all that big... But I guess they added up as far as blood loss went..."she mused, her cheeks rather red from the awkward collision. They were red enough already that the rumble her stomach suddenly issued failed to make the blush deepen."...Riiiiiiight... I think the last time we ate was... Last night...?"That probably didn't help matters any. Neither did the fact that her nose was now shouting at her for landing face-first in Darren's chest. As if the teen didn't have enough to worry about.
