Sorry if this has been answered before, I'm back on gaia after years of being gone. But my question is: When/will the Golden Catch have the items changed out for different items? Its a really fun game that I enjoy playing so I would love to see changed periodically.
We are planning an upcoming gold shop update, but might put some items in golden catch.

I do miss playing a lot of the games, but I think Java stopped working for me and the website.

We will be putting in efforts to revamp some of the games in 2020, though we had built many games in the past so we won't be able to update them all.

My goal is an update like the December one, monthly. But depending on my own personal schedule (as i do the recolors for it as well as picking the re-releases) we may see a month not get an update, but I'll be doing my best.

What is going to become of Gaia Fishing? I know a lot of browsers are turning away from Java, ie Chrome. Fishing is based entirely on java, right?
Also, the game hasn't seen must support lately and I was curious if we are just waiting for it to die off.

We are converting Towns to HTML5, then Fishing will follow. The old games run on Flash platform and the new games will run on HTML5 which is Javascript based, and that should work on all modern browsers moving forward.

I understand Flash is the biggest problem with games and I cannot offer a constructive solution on how to fix it. I just wanted these concerns to be heard by the ones who have the ability to make a change.

Flash games had been a big topic of discussion for the past year and we do have plans to port the most popular games onto HTML5. We are starting with Towns and will have an HTML5 version soon. Probably fishing is next, and we will go down the list to see which games should be ported over. Unfortunately there are other things such as events and site maintenance that preceded the priority for migrating flash games, but we are working on it.
With flash ending this year, have you considered making the most of your time in remaking games by turning them into the holiday events this year?
For example, the Summer event could be on Fishing 2.0, with achievments for certain tasks during the event (and new achievements over all for the game), and prize grab bags that can be fished.
We will start working on Towns ASAP, but I do love your idea of making Fishing the theme for this summer event. Thank you!

Can I just say that I love that golden catch got updated last month or so and really hope we get to see more in the future. It's sooo nice to have quality recolors for gold. It gives me something to spend my gold on!

Happened the same as the time before items changed .
Golden Catch isn't dropping all rollers again , meaning that not all the items are being granted .
It seemed to be better earlier on when the items were first changed , but I noticed over time , the same ones are granting over and over now , is there a similar bug that is here that the same as last time ? That wasn't looked into before me thinks .
Hmm, the system uses a scheduler to rotate items and there seems to be a problem. Will need to do some debugging. Sorry about that.

We're starting with Towns 3 and Fishing, then we will move on to other games. I don't think we can get to the majority of them as we have over 13 games and features that are in flash, but we will try to cover all the major ones.

Will Slots get a revamp? Or will there ever be a Slots V2 within the next 10 years? o: What about a scratchcard game? :D
Slots is a bit higher in priority than some of the other games, though we'll probably gather more feedback as we come close to releasing Towns 3 and Fishing 2.

What happened to Fashion Fray? I thought it had a lot of potential and then it just disappeared from the face of the earth.
Fashion Fray will make a comeback. We're wrapping up the storytelling game as it's part of the upcoming Valentine's event. Fashion Fray will have a comeback soon after with new prizes.
That seem to be one game that kept having trouble loading. I'll make a check on all the flash games right after ATS.

We fixed a couple of issues over the weekend. Towns 2 should be more stable now and the zOMG servers should not have connection issues anymore.
As soon as we get the Bootsnake server back up, we will open a 4th server to increase stability for zOMG.
Games that run on the old sushi server seem to be unstable still, will go do another round of testing later today.
We are working on Towns 3 now and it should be more stable than flash based Towns moving forward.

Last week we were given two servers Angelic and Demonic but still having issues connecting to servers. Will you guys be switching out of the "sushi" servers anytime soon?
When we change fishing to HTML 5 we will also change the server code to not use Sushi anymore. The sushi servers should be shut down a long time ago.

i know plat has a couple soft caps - posting, profile comments, and i believe polls which is fine, i think having a soft cap is good!
however, i think each game should have its own soft cap as well. because if youre globally capped, there is literally NO reason to play ANY game. especially on platinum.
LK on platinum is useless, everyone has to switch back to gold to earn anything and the flash games i doubt have been updated in like a decade to fit anything
i think while the global cap is otherwise fine each game should have its own soft cap, especially when you remake the games because itll actually be an incentive to play because you can earn and because itll have a soft cap like posting in forums, you can still earn without going super crazy with it.
otherwise when you re-create the games or re-launch them, theyll have short winded hype cuz people cant bloody earn anything. if we are putting our time and effort into a game, we should get something. so please, let gaming have their own soft cap on plat. instead of falling under global. including LK
Thank you for the suggestion. I'll look into how we can split the daily cap so that rewards from games are still meaningful even after platinum is earned from posting.

Is revamping the games (including towns and such) to work on a platform that is not flash a priority? I really feel if they weren't broken, people would play them and kickstart having people come back - hopefully.
Yes, converting current flash games to HTML5 is a priority for us, and Codemonkey is back making Towns 3, and other games after this. Progress had been slower than we'd like but we definitely want to be able to play some of these games on future browsers as well as on mobile devices.

I apologize if this has been addressed before but if so I missed it.
With the impending discontinuation of all adobe flash support at the end of the year, is the staff planning to convert the older games such as fishing and jigsaw over to HTML, or are we looking at those being discontinued along with flash?
Right after Towns 3 we will be re-working exiting games starting with Gaia Fishing!
Is there any ETA on when slots will be back in operation? Someone said a while back there were tests done and slots in particular (and one or two other games) had broken servers and there was work being done to make them functional again
Sorry my last attempted seemed to have failed. I will check on the server again later this week.

Sorry the server had been acting up. I'm starting to think that we'll have a new version before the server is fixed.
Any plans on making the Jigsaw screen larger? Even with my eyesight, I have trouble with the smaller pieces. Additionally, would there be a possibility in getting an increase with the rewards? This question applies to all of the flash games.
Jigsaw needs to be redone, but it is a tricky game to do. I might have another picture puzzle game to put in its place while we are redoing the games.

why does it take forever to connect to games especially fishing? There have been times where it has taken me 5 hours too connect by refreshing the page a lot of times , but i am able too connect faster in a few times refreshing at a friends house. Is this a connection issue?
This sounds like an odd problem. It's hard to say for certain but it could have been some firewall or safety programs which block the traffic for games such as fishing which uses a different port number than what is used for web browsing. The flash game server shouldn't have issues connecting to some users versus others.

Thanks for bringing back Switch'em! I've missed this game and I love seeing it again. However, it has me (and a few other achievement hunters) wondering: will the two Switch'em achievements be coming back now, too? It'd be fun to see those return, especially since there don't seem to be any achievements with this year's Easter event.
It was a mistake to make the game tie in with Facebook API in hindsight. I am not sure if we can get it up and running easily as their API had changed a couple of times already.

I totally feel like Chucklefish stole this from Gaia. lol But I find fishing in Stardew a ton easier than on Gaia with just the clicking mechanic than the movement mechanic, probably easier on mobile too ?
