He knew better than to pursue the topic and merely nodded. "Count this as your alarm then. Invest in some coffee."
Jack gave no recognition at all that the woman had touched him. The recent Sahara mission had given him ample time to practice hiding his more conspicuous reactions (such as undesired touching). "No," he replied, his eyes trailing after her and catching the Life insignia as well as her status on the coat. Shark in the Life division, what a surprise. But at least he'd get to watch her swim about.
"You look like you do," he added to Finn, seeing the way his eyes had widened with recognition. Jack's tone clearly was asking for more information, but it appeared he'd have to learn more while on the job.
After Caelius's rousing little speech, Mark's subsequent explanation, and a quick survey of the premises, he made his way towards the halfway mark of the flooring hopes of avoiding a crowd around the closer ones. "Which job do you feel like doing?" he asked Finn while on the way, as if a zombie apocalypse was just another job surrounding minipets and their poop scooping.

The Noemi sandwich was pretty awesome, he was super glad that Cee didn't object and in turn didn't feel offended when the black haired girl decided to peel herself away. It gave him the chance to have the small Mist all to himself after all - really, it probably would have stumped most people to realize they weren't actually dating or anything with the amount of affection he was displaying upon the girl. And really, he didn't object to the arm clinging at all (not like he was going to go anywhere, haha) and her introductions of him to the rest of the merry group. Milo simply grinned like an idiot and waved to each of the faces he didn't know.
(In the midst of all this, Konstantin would have gotten an overly friendly wave his way).
The wait for the mission briefing and portal jumping didn't seem too long to him, in the least, not with the company of friends and new faces and all that. But when it did seem to get moving, he stuck close to Noemi as he now tended to do and followed the rest of everyone as everything got explained on the other side.
Milo spared a glance downward at the girl clinging to his arm. It was pretty obvious what one person would be going with him on this, "Anyone else wanna come with Noemi and me? Or are we gonna rock it ourselves?" Might as well ask.

She heard buzzwords like competence and viral infection and neutralize, but it was all the same song and dance to her. Not even the idea of getting infected and becoming some zombie-like patient zero creature seemed to phase her. That was the beauty of allowing herself to grow numb for a day.
Without a word she took Gale's hand and moved forward. Evan's was captured soon afterwards she she stoically kept her gaze forward, ignoring the very present pair that was Tuck and Heidi and the little group around them, her lips pressed together as if in deep thought.
Her only decision of the day would be spent on what cell they would start on. Everything else was up to them--that much was clear when she turned to face the two she had dragged, looking expectant for orders. Anything to distract her from what was crawling under her skin (three sets of wings and many legs) and through her head.

"Ya ya..." Finn made a waving off gesture, not wanting to hear about coffee when the other man was sipping on some right in front of him (and Finn definitely knew better than to ask if Jack would share).
As they moved towards the portal, Finn gave a short nod in response to Jack's question. "I think so. There was an encounter, on my promotion mission. If it wasn't her than it was somebody that looked exactly like her." He replied, shrugging his shoulders as he went through, finding himself in absolutely deplorable conditions on the other side (was he even surprised? Not really).
He listened rather attentively to the instructions, not batting an eyelash at what was expected of them, though there was some slight concern about the possibility of what they were dealing with being contagious. He remembered the last time he had been in quarantine all too well, and would rather not find himself in that position again.
Following alongside Jack wordlessly, pushing through the masses, he stopped with the other man outside of one of the cell doors. Pursing his lips for a moment, considering, he finally reached for the door. "Handling, I guess. You've been through enough s**t lately." It was a rare act of kindness from the one eyed moon hunter, "Though if you see anybody worth adding to our group come along, feel free to drag them in here to help me." He added on, before opening the door and stepping inside.
The...thing (he refused to think of it as a human right now) was chained to a chair. Not really all that alarming, considering that he had already made the assumption based on Mark's instruction that they could be quite violent. Biting and scratching? Finn felt like he could avoid that, though on instinct he brought his scarf up to wrap around his lower face, pulling it up over his nose as well, as if to keep out some kind of rancid stench (though really it just made him feel somewhat safer in breathing the same air that this creature was befouling with it's presence).
Moving up next to it, he eyed it warily with the only part of his face left exposed, before reaching out for one of the chains, working at it until it came free while making sure to keep himself from within the range of it's teeth.
Still, it faced him, and while he fought to ignore it staring at him, he couldn't help but flinch when he thought it was lunging towards him, though the dry rasping rattle that escaped from that open mouth certainly sounded more like a cough, and soon after red flecks sprayed out, peppering Finn's jacket and scarf which he was now more than thankful for wrapping around his mouth, the fabric acting as a shield against what had just occurred.
"Disgusting." Finn muttered to himself, loosing the chain and gathering it up into his hand to hold on to tightly.

Small teams of two to five Hunters. Un-oh. Nellie began to look a little flustered when people started breaking off into smaller groups as soon as first Caelius then Mark had filled them in on what was required of them for the task at hand. Contaminated Hunters? So they're supposed to go right into those cells and do all that with just their Fear shields to keep them from being similarly infected? It didn't sound like a very sensible idea to begin with but an order was still an order regardless of the risks involved.
Niffy had a point there. Nodding a few times to herself, the young Mist trainee looked around her for a bit, trying to see if there was someone who wasn't with any group like herself or someone who looked like he/she wouldn't mind terribly if she tagged along just for the duration of this mission.

[Cell 7] Current Group: Robert + Lucky
Before Mimsy could continue to persuade Robert that everything would be just fine - and, even more regretfully, before she could respond to Shu's message in full - Caelius finally arrived and began to speak. She turned her attention to him with the most impassive, unimpressed stare she had possibly ever displayed, and listened for less than half of the briefing before pulling her phone back out of her pocket to attend to someone more important.

Text to: Shu
I am here. I will take very good care of them. Should you doubt your safety, or find yourself in need of our company or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me!
Perhaps you will discover the solution to your missing words on the mission. You are more clever than you believe. If you do not, I will assist you in the time to follow. (:
Congratulations! I am very proud of you, as always.
Despite what appearances might have indicated, the words of the Death lead had not fallen on deaf ears, however. She felt much more comfortable focusing entirely upon him when Shu had not gone ignored, and began to connect the dots between the words she had passively absorbed and the words she was hearing now. This did not seem like a job for them. 'Virus' was occasionally a term used in the context of Insanity, but...was a global outbreak of such a thing truly a statistical possibility?
Her curious expression only deepened when she caught a glimpse of the box that Zoe and Oz carried between them. It was somewhat infuriating to be so obviously uninformed going into a mission of this sort, especially considering how nervous Mark seemed. For someone who she always perceived as quite confident, that was not the most appealing of appearances.
She took Robert's hand again, and glanced firmly at Lucky for several long seconds in case he had somehow gotten the idea that he was not coming along with them, then followed the other mission attendees through the portal, across the treacherous hallway of a building that was surely condemned, and finally stopped at the place that Mark indicated as the surveillance room. There was a noticeably stronger sense of attentiveness towards him than there had been towards the Death lead, and she nodded along as the information was explained to them - until he began to elaborate upon what was happening here. Coughing up blood. Bleeding from the eyes. Peeling skin. Eating other Hunters.
Another look was directed towards Lucky, though her expression was not particularly indicative of the reasoning this time, nor did she say anything about it. Then she turned towards Robert and licked her lips - in thought, probably - before exhaling a faint hm.
"All right," she finally said, just before the buzzer sounded. "I will provide navigation. The two of you will deal with handling. Should this require alteration for any reason, or should we find ourselves ill, we will act responsibly. In a manner that is responsible for us, and us alone."
If her words were not blatant enough, the pause that followed certainly was.
She stretched up to kiss the corner of Robert's lips, because this sort of affection was critically important in cases where one's spouse might soon have to decide whether or not to neutralize them, then ushered their group into their assigned cell.
Cell 7. Because someone clearly thought they were being humorous.
All thoughts of Lucky's eventual discovery, or their eventual death due to it, flew right out the window as he listened to what - in his mind - was a really super obvious scenario.
"Zombies."
He didn't know whether to be excited about it, or horrified. He just hoped he didn't die first - that would be something he could have never lived with.
Mimsy's promise - that they would be responsible on her terms, answered the question for him. His lips twisted into a proud, violent grin, and he leaned in when she kissed him, and dipped his head to kiss the top of hers afterwards. She always knew exactly what to say. Exactly what to do. And Robert was ready.
"You got it. Let's go handle us some ********' zombies Lucky."
He forced himself forward in front of them, heading into the cell first. The patient was just as he'd expected - in fact, it was a little more than he could have hoped for. The man was foaming blood, convulsing, and generally flipping his s**t.
"Keep all your hands and arms in the vehicle while the ride is in motion," Robert yelled out maniacally, as he pulled off one of the chains and held it taught. "It's gonna be a bumpy ride!"

When Cee greeted her, Heidi looked to her with a smile until she really got a good look at her, green eyes quickly scanning up and down on the woman before settling on her face again with a brand new smile. For a moment Tuck would feel her hand squeezing his within an inch of its life, but only for a moment. "Hi! Not much, just responding to the text sent out, and then I saw Tuck so I wanted to come say hi!" And. Not leave. Yup. "I went to an outpost in a forest, somewhere in Europe." She shrugged. "It was nice! I'd go back, I think, I love forests and stuff like that." At first Heidi didn't even notice Tuck had raised her hand up until he kissed her knuckles, and her shoulders lowered slightly as she relaxed beside him. She didn't realize she'd tensed up.
Oh! Someone was speaking up! Heidi turned to Noemi and..Milo! "Right! Nice to meet you, Milo!" But..what was..? "You okay, Noemi?"
Things finally picked up, the Death lead arrived, guiding everyone to..
...Oh no.
Tuck's hand received another squeeze. "Zombies again?" But hey..teams of two to five, right? "Sooo..the five of us can just be a team, yeah?"

All things considered, everything seemed orderly. His Highness even gave more information than Otto would come to expect from the man. The only thing that put him off was the Death Lead's tardiness. Normally he'd be the first one there.
Group work was of course the bane of Otto's existence. He despised working with others. However, he had no choice.
Looking for someone tolerable and level headed, he set his sights on Sasha. The young man shuffled his way over, his arms crossed unhappily. He liked Sasha, but Hell he was not in the mood for any sort of social or work related interactions.

Tuck watched Stormy and Evan leave. His mouth opened as though he wanted to call out to them. Something twisted in his chest a little, but he said nothing. Did nothing. It was time for business, not time for bullshit. Maybe they could talk later, or maybe they wouldn't, and that would have to ******** be okay, too. He felt like a ******** up, he felt like a piece of s**t, and he felt angry. At himself, at the whole ******** situation.
"Ain't no sense in ********' standing around with our thumbs up our asses," Tuck growled, breaking free from Heidi. "You either gonna follow me or you ain't, but lets get this ********' show on the road, shall we?"
Tuck glanced at the group, each person individually, a hard set to his jaw and a sort of bleakness in his eyes.
"Who's stayin' and who's leavin'?"

"Otto, darling, it's been too long," Sasha grinned as he approached, taking his grim expression with a grain of salt. She paused to straighten his jacket (which was straight, but she wanted to touch him) and even went so far as to lean in to press a kiss to his cheek - all without his permission, of course, because Otto was and always would be one of hers.
She scanned the area again and caught Lawr's eye, crooking a finger at the man. Come, her expression read, lets play.
"How have you been, Otto? Well, I hope?"

Rep had expected it to be something terrible they would be dealing with, of course he did. But he hadn't expected it to be zombies. He'd watched enough zombie movies to know that when you shoved quarantine disposal in the hands of complete ******** morons that s**t went horribly wrong. And hunters, as a whole were complete ******** morons.
This could only go well.
Still, orders were orders and when divided up into teams, Rep took the most obvious buddy in the history of ever and decided to pair up with Harrison. He figured at least working with Harrison reduced the chances for dire ******** to as low of a percentage chance as he possibly could.
He hoped the cells were big enough to summon Tracey in, if push came to shove.

When America spotted him, Lawr gave her the faintest of smiles before listening to their collective briefing.
When it was over, the Death hunter glanced from Sasha to America and back again thoughtfully. His instincts said he should pursue the redhead through what was to come, and possibly aid in her misfortune, but an unfortunate factor was that she was accompanied by Kostya and Peyton both and likely (in her ignorance) would end up working with them rather than him. Neither would tolerate his presence most likely, for obvious reasons. There would be other chances, chances when she was alone and not flanked by the inconvenience of minders.
In the meantime he had other, fascinating places to be. He made his way over to join the dark haired Lifer and noted Otto by her, giving the other blonde man a toothy smile. "Howdy pardner." he said, and it was far from welcoming.

A text from Caelius was enough to have Hanna up early and fretting over the best mission attire, but an additional one from Jack had her out the door even faster, fussing over an errant piece of hair that had slid loose from the bandana folded into a headband slid back into her hair. The lighthouse was such an ambiguous mission detail. Did this mean more desert? Or would she return to the creepy room with Alice? In either case, Hanna was sort of curious about it.
A feeling she would likely come to regret later.
When she arrived, Mark was just getting there as well so she decided to hang back on the edges, eyes searching the crowd for familiar faces. (Finding Jack was easy, with the massive height and all) but she saw flashes of others: red hair, a tiny blip in the crowd where someone incredibly short must be standing, layers of coats upon coats.
Decontamination? It brought a prickle of paranoia to Hanna. She had been contaminated and then burned from head to toe before. But her general confidence made her believe that she did not possess the sort of weakness that would make her unfit for the mission. Mark's instructions left a lot to be desired, but Hanna grasped the basics.
It was the whole "divide into groups part" that had her head awkwardly swiveling, wondering where to go. Nobody wanted to be the last kid picked for soccer, or for, you know, decomination. She spotted Jack and crossed to him, glancing down at his coffee. "Jealous of the coffee, though not sure I have an appetite now," she said. Finn had been near him before, but appeared to have gone in.
"Is your group still forming? I think sticking near a Life would be best, if this is some infection."
Plus, Hanna kind of liked being around Jack, for whatever reason.

Sasha's fussing was tolerated, namely because he liked her enough to allow it. He'd gotten fairly accustomed to manhandling thanks to his relationship with Maebe and Cami.
"Well enough. Keepin' busy." He assumed the same of her.
Laer's appearance was met with a seething glare from Otto. He did not like the idea of keeping his back exposed to this man. This man he'd shot in the head last he'd worked with him. Lawr had a tendency to come off as backstabbing and unscrupulous. That was the day Sam had died. It was a dark day to recall on a mission day.
"Hi." He replied snippily.
Looks like this would be the dream team. At least it fell into the minimum amount of members required.
