Lily
Lily listened to Nalyne and thought about what he said. She took a deep breath and then walked over to him and pulled him into a tight hug. She was silent for a bit before she finally spoke. "It'll be alright, Nalyne," she finally said. "Everything will be alright." She forced him over to a couch and sat down, forcing him to lay down and place his head in her lap. "I'm so sorry that I gave you that sort of ultimatum, Nalyne. I didn't know what you were hiding, or that it weighed so heavily on you. I love you. I don't want you anywhere but with me." She looked down at him. "I'll go with you when you have to do it. You shouldn't be alone for that. But before we resort to killing her, is there any possible way for us to save her? Is there enough time for us to try to find any solution that will work?"

Nalyne laid back with his head in Lily’s lap and closed his eyes, suddenly grateful for her support no matter how he managed to get it. As she moved her fingers through his hair and stroked his face, he let her share a small portion of his burden. Not all of it, not with this one. But a small portion of it, yes. Enough that she could understand and possibly help him through what he would have to do.

“There was only one possibility that we could find, only one loophole in what he did to her. He was truly diabolically evil, Lily. If I could risk summoning him back to life to kill him again for what he’s done to both of them, I would do it in a heartbeat. If I could do it and turn him over to Ilea for whatever she wanted to do to him in return for the thousand years of torture and abuse he put her through, I wouldn’t hesitate to do it. But doing so means her death and I can’t do that to her…” he explained to her, his jaw clenching in anger only when he mentioned what he wished he could do.

But the whole thing only defeated him spiritually all over again and he seemed to deflate under the strokes of her fingers, as if only her touch were keeping him where he was, as if only her touch was keeping him from going slowly insane over the whole thing.

“There are only two ways of killing her now that Goh is technically dead. Ilea has created a dagger for it and will likely offer it to that damned wolf, David, she’s got as a bodyguard who should have Bonded with her by now,” another deep breath to calm himself down so that he could stay on track was required, “I’m the other way of killing her… I don’t need a special weapon, though my sword is capable of killing just about anything. I can simply sever her tie to this world and free her soul. She will finally be released from the stasis that Goh had her linked to and has been promised a place among my family, a paradise of sorts that she deserves,” he finished in a soft tone, revealing what his meetings with his father had been so involved with while they’d been away.

“As for the one way to save her… That way was supposed to have been David… Goh knew that only the Siberian Pack could have circumvented his plans for immortality, if one of their males fully Bonded with Ilea. In fully Bonding with her I mean Marking her as his Mate and taking her Mark in return. He would have to take her as a full equal and neutralize the Master/Servant bond entirely.

“When we realized that Goh was trying to eliminate the entire race of Siberians, we tried to save as many as we could. Unfortunately, my sisters only went for the females. I did the only thing I could. In the middle of a battle, an attack, a fight of some kind, I pulled one of the males away. I knew he’d survive, even if he didn’t want to. Goh could never know of our interference or every one of us would have gone up in smoke. A few of us literally. Gods of a higher caliber set up something pretty nasty that prevented any of the gods from interfering with him. At all. As in none of us could do anything to stop him. So what I did was as far as I could go in saving David.

“He survived and wound up with her in the end. I tried to tell him. I told him to watch her, not to watch over her. Everyone on the base has been aware that she’s fading so he couldn’t have missed it. It’s also been obvious to me, at least, that he’s got some kind of feelings for her. So how much further does he need to be pushed to fully claim her?!” another deep breath and he concentrated on the feeling of her fingers moving over his skin and through his hair, letting the contact calm him back down before he burned something.

“I don’t know what to do with these feelings, Lily… I’ve never felt like this… I cared for my family, yes. But I didn’t love them before. You changed that for me, Princess. You taught me to love, to really love and care… And now I feel like something inside of me is tearing apart and I don’t know what it is… What do I do with this? How do I do what I have to do with this inside of me? Help me with this, my Princess, because I know that I’m going to hesitate to do this, that I’m going to look into her dark eyes and not be able to do it and I’m going to watch her suffer until she dies and he comes back and it’ll all be my fault… Help me fix this…” he finally whispered to her softly.

Only with her could he admit this weakness. If anyone else learned of it…

Lily
Lily stroked Nalyne's face as he spoke, thinking about what he was saying. "Love hurts sometimes, Nalyne," she said. "It can be such a beautiful, wonderful feeling when everything goes well. But when you feel like something terrible is going to happen to someone you love, it's the most painful thing imaginable. If you can't prevent it, you start to feel powerless, useless. That's how I felt when you told me that Essy was dying and Ilea was running out of time. It was like something had sent my entire world crashing down. The only reason I was able to get through it was because I had you to help me. Having someone with you can help lessen the pain. I know I can't take it away completely, but I'm here to help make your pain bearable. Does that help at all?"

Nalyne listened to her with his eyes closed, her fingers keeping him grounded. He finally opened his eyes to look up into hers and reached up to stroke her cheek; suddenly surprised to find that his own cheeks were damp with tears that he hadn’t realized he’d started to cry. But he knew that he shouldn’t have been too surprised. Not with Lily.

“Only with you, my Princess… I hope you can understand what I mean by that… It’s not a burden I would have wished on you but it’s one that you’ll have to take on anyway…” he whispered to her softly, hoping that she’d understand that he was talking about his tears, about the fact that he was crying. After all, it wasn’t something that a being with his status could go around doing where anyone could see him doing it. It would be a sign of weakness, a way in to defeating him…

He was revealing to her that he’d found his weaknesses and they were a really big one… The way to his True Heart… Lily, his Princess and truest love… Esabel and Ilea, his nieces and dearest family… Those three were the way to his heart, the way to defeat him… His weaknesses… If anyone wanted to hurt him, to weaken him; all they had to do was hurt or hold captive one of those three… And heaven or hell help anyone that ever hurt Lily…

Truthfully, doing what he was going to have to do with Ilea was going to hurt him badly in more than one way. But he was going to have to do it and they both knew it.

He sat up and put one hand on the other side of her lap to effectively trap her where she was sitting while using the other hand to cup her cheek as he looked deeper into her eyes for a long moment, “You are ever a wonder to me, Princess…” he started and had to pause to give her very tempting lips a brief and tender kiss, “Your explanation helps, yes… It tells me what my problem is… But it also tells me a few things… First is that this is a Test set to me by my father. He doesn’t think I can do it. And I don’t think I can either… I don’t think I can look into her eyes and kill her, Lily… I’ll go and try to do it… I have to at least try, I know that. And yes, I do want you with me for that because I know I can’t do it alone,” he added, another tear moving down his cheek to join the others that he was now letting flow freely instead of trying to hold it in.

He was giving her what no one else could see, the truth of him, his true face, his true emotions, everything of him without holding anything back from her. Just as she’d asked for from him.

He finally let his head fall back and took in a few breaths to calm down before speaking again, “But there are about two and a half to three weeks to go before a final decision has to be made. I’m still hoping that blasted wolf grows a pair and does what he should have done weeks ago. Maybe then she’ll stop trying to make contingency plans…” he groused a bit, trying to get himself out of the crybaby routine that just wasn’t the usual sexy himself… Well, in his opinion… Truthfully, his genetics kindof insisted that he still be sexy, even when crying…

“Gah… We have to do something else here… Help me come up with something, Princess… Let’s poke fun at my lack of cooking skills while we send for something to eat… Let’s go through the stuff my family sent home with you… Tell me what you think of my insane family… Let me take you to bed and wear you out while we test out the new supports I requested put in…

“Let’s pick something totally distracting and a guarantee not to make me start up the waterworks again. At least you make crying look good…” he added as he got up from the couch and pulled her up with him, clearly finished with the drama portion of things.

Esabel lead them both to Lily and Nalyne’s rooms, but did pause by the kitchens long enough to order up a meal since she knew Nalyne couldn’t cook and Lily hadn’t had the time to learn yet. That done, they simply continued on their way.

Once there, Esabel did as she always did: she simply walked in without bothering to knock. Thankfully, the times she entered, she never managed to walk in on anything. That was either perfect timing or dumb luck. And with Esabel, it could go either way.

She walked into the main sitting room and gave them both a kiss on the cheek, “Lily, Nalyne, this is Lancaster. Unka Nalyne, Esabel’s powers went an’ marked him up. Need you to make it go away,” she told him simply then disappeared into the kitchen to go rummaging for a snack, “Now Esabel’s got the munchies…” she muttered to herself softly, leaving Lancaster with the leader of the Re and an earth-bound god that Esabel called her uncle…

Nalyne gave Lancaster a brief nod then motioned for the Harvester to approach him so that he could have a better look at the mark Esabel had given to him, “It’s removable… But it won’t be easy to do…” he said softly before narrowing his eyes at the Harvester a bit, “No… You two aren’t a match are you… Too bad… Well, we’ll just have to keep looking… Still, we are grateful to you for saving her… She’s very special to us, you see,” he added, one hand barely moving the air over his cheek and removing the Mark Esabel had given him, sending the energy back to her, “She and her sister, both are more than special to us in ways you cannot possibly imagine, Harvester… He made the worst in Hell’s Cradle look like a sunny day in comparison,” he finished in a soft whisper.

Almost immediately after that interruption came another one. This time in the form of Ilea, dressed in her familiar crimson leather from her haltertop to her low-riding pants that hugged every curve of her pale skin and had cutouts on the sides and showed off every silvery scar she had. The knee-boots with the stiletto heels certainly drew the eye to the way her hips moved with every step she made while the forearm-long gloves drew the eyes to her covered hands and made one wonder… But it had to be the silver daggers at her hips that were the kicker to her outfit; neither had any hilts, so wielding them could lose her a finger or four. The fact that she still possessed all of her fingers was a mark of her prowess with the blades.

Her waist-length dark hair was pulled back into a tight braid that fell down her back, revealing that even her face was touched by the silvery scars gained from her creator. But that face was crafted to be the alluringly beautiful to Esabel’s playful and wild beauty. Ilea was the kind of woman that walked into a room and instantly gained attention without ever trying for it or even wanting it. But she could play to that attention if she cared to, if she had to, or if she was ordered to do so by the right person.

Ilea paused in the doorway and took in the scene briefly with her crimson eyes then held up two sealed letters, “I just wanted to drop these off. But you’re busy, so I won’t keep you. I have work to do anyway,” she said softly, her voice like something that should have belonged to a heavenly being or something. Her voice wrapped around the senses and went straight below the belt unless one was prepared for it.

But she also moved like a deadly predator as she crossed the room to set the two envelopes on Lily’s desk then headed back for the door, pausing long enough to give Esabel’s dark hair a light kiss. In that moment, the resemblance was clear: they had to have been made by the same person, but with totally different personalities. It was strange to see but strangely enough made perfect sense.

Nalyne watched Lancaster as Ilea came in and left her letters then left the rooms again, on her way to the training grounds. He wanted to see the Harvester’s reaction to Ilea since it was so very obvious that he and Esabel were not a match. Then again, so very few got on well with Esabel…

From the kitchen, Esabel gave a happy sound and settled in at one of the cabinets and Nalyne just gave a heavy sigh before turning to Lily, “Princess… Can you get her out of Gin’s old poison stash this time? I told you we should have put a lock on it,” was all he said on that old argument as Esabel began to mix up another of her infamous ‘cocktails’…

Wulfric stood in front of the door to Lily's and sighed before he knocked, three heavy thudds and Wulfric poked his head through the door, he noted that there was a fair few in the room and just walked through, unconcerned at this point as to whether or not he had interrupted anything, his presence was going to be a a surprise and he was sure questions would follow, though unless his bloodlust simmered down he wasn't going to be able to talk for a while. One step at a time, Wulfric at least needed to make it known that he was alive and well... in somewhat good health apart from all the bullet holes and new scars he'd accquired while gone, the new scars showed even through his fur that wasn't covered by his armor, and the few bullet holes he had were still somewhat fresh and while not bleeding at this point haven't fully healed up yet.

Lily
Lily didn't get a chance to respond to Nalyne's request for a distraction before Esabel showed up with Lancaster. And then Ilea was showing up to drop off letters and leaving. Before she could say anything about that, Nalyne was asking her to get Esabel out of Gin's poison stash and saying that they should have put a lock on it. "I did put a lock on it," she stated. "Even infused it with my light to make it stronger. I guess it just wasn't enough to stop her." She moved over to Esabel and managed to take the poisons from her before she could do anything with them. "Essy, we've told you that you can't drink dad's poisons. We've explained why. I even locked them up. Please stop getting into them."

Lily looked over to the door when Wulfric knocked and entered. She looked back to Esabel. "Look at that, Essy. Wulfric's back. Let's go see him. You can give him a big hug." She didn't give Esabel much time to respond before she pulled her out of the poison stash and over to Wulfric. She took a good look at him and sighed. "I'll expect an explanation of things later. But I'll take a look at your wounds for now." She looked him over quickly, using her light to heal the bullet holes fully. She left Wulfric to deal with Esabel and then moved over to stand next to Nalyne. "This is just turning out to be an exhausting day."

Wulfric felt relief from the healing provided by Lily, his attention was fixed on her, he was uncertain how he would explain anything, he shuddered at the thought of what had happened to him, though he was still surprised that it had been six months, he'd been gone for too long and would have to make up for loss time, though for now there was not much that could be done especially with him still in wolf form. His left ear twitched slightly before he turned his gaze to the young Esabel and knelt down to get a better look at her, he'd been gone for too long and wanted to get a once over to see what has changed, he was limited due to the clothes but that could be remedied at some point later, he did a once over taking note of the everything, she was a tough one that was for sure make some wolves look like wimps when it came to pain tolerance, even his tolerance levels would only go so far before he succumbed but it was easier to handle as a wolf than as a man. satisfied that he saw everything that could be seen he remained knelling and simply lowered his head in shame, up to the last time he was with her he'd been prepared for anything and was honestly unsure how they got the jump on him so easily, but that was something he was going to have to find out as time permits.

To move things along....

Dameon Black

Nalyne nodded to Lily and just gave a shrug of one shoulder, “You know that unless we have someone watching her full time, there really is no way to keep her out of it. Thankfully none of it is all that strong or rare. I just kept the things I knew she was immune to in there when I moved it all. I put the rest somewhere else,” he said simply, still watching Lancaster. But he finally gave another shrug and shook his head slightly, “You’re free to stay here at the base for as long as you need to. You know where the kitchen is by now, the prison shouldn’t be too hard to find for one such as you should you need a different kind of feed, and we also have the Pillow Room available for any other needs. One of the slaves will show you to a suitable set of rooms,” he added as he led the man towards the door.

They were only interrupted once, when Wolfe came in. Nalyne decided to hurry the exit up a bit since he knew that Lily wouldn’t be able to handle the bloodshed all over her carpet and got Lancaster out the door and in the care of one of the slaves that would show him to a suitable set of rooms, with Ilea’s crimson leather-covered skin moving around a corner just up ahead.

Then he shut the door just in time for Esabel to notice Wolfe in her pouting after Lily pulled her out of the poison cabinet.

Honestly! They were going to have to move it again now!

“Puppy!” Esabel yelled out when she saw him and ran towards him, tackling him to the ground after Lily managed to heal him and Nalyne gave him just enough energy to be able to shift back.

After all, they needed answers about the attack…

They knew from Esabel’s wounds that the attackers had used claws more than bladed weapons, but no bullets had been used. That meant animals or constructs of some kind, but they weren’t anything that Ilea had recognized when she’d sewn up Esabel’s wounds. And only Ilea’s skills had kept Esabel from dying on them.

Speaking of which, it was apparently time to pull the stitches and staples from Esabel’s wounds since she was fully healed now thanks to Lancaster. Esabel, however, was too busy snuggling into Wolfe and trying to put kisses all over him to realize that he might not like her having Lancaster’s scent on her even if the Harvester had saved her life…

Nalyne pulled Lily back a moment to assess the situation and gave a heavy sigh, “We need to work out the situation with the Sandmen fast, Lily. We’re all much too vulnerable by ourselves. We need to work together. We need Allistair and Dev to get to work,” he told her softly, knowing that she could talk to Allistair better than he could. Allistair would take it as a challenge from him instead of as an order from her.

They did need the Alliance. Esabel’s wounds proved it. Ilea’s failing health proved it. Even if they managed to stop his half-brother’s returning, they still had to deal with Goh’s followers that were apparently intent on killing his nieces. And then there was Gurzil and his followers…

No, they needed the Alliance sooner rather than later…
PostPosted: Sun Oct 16, 2016 10:55 am

Lancaster watched the scene unfold with disinterest, now having removed himself from the situation.Nalyne offered to heal him, but the Harvester backed away and headed for the door. THat other woman who came by, Ilea... She looked promising. Much more so than Eabel, anyways. Silently, his presence vacated the room as he slunk away from the gathering, looking to find Ilea and see if she was more partial to sating her earthly and womanly desires with him.

Wulfric was taken back by the sudden tackle from Esabel more so from having her on top of him, he gave up trying to get up at this point and merely wrapped his arms around her and held her closely, relieved that he was at least back where he belonged. for a time he laid on the floor just holding onto her, but eventually he decided it was time to get up and though Esabel was very insistent he collected her and held her in his arms as he rolled over and got up from the floor. Esabel was cradled in his arms as he stood there and just looked at Nalyne and Lily and cocked his head slightly before he noted the scent of blood in the air, the smell of air was almost intoxicating for him, the lust for bloodshed was strong and his eyes showed it, but he kept the primal instincts in check as best he could while he held Esabel, and found it very hard to calm the wolf within him enough to change when the time came.

While he stood there Wulfric's ears perked up as he remembered something and growled slightly to get their attention, Wulfric looked at Esabel and gently put her down, he looked around the room and saw a table and walked over to it, glancing over his shoulder briefly before he started taking his armor off. As he shed his armor and gear more and more of the scars he acquired started coming into view, while Lily's healing touch did do the trick the wounds he'd already sustained were far from fully healing, most of the wounds appeared as if they were made as a reminder though outside of what he had to deal with he can't think of anything that could inflict such damage. though a wild night with Esabel would probably clear them up eventually he was content to show them and perhaps they could provide some explanation about what happened.

Nalyne watched as Wolfe removed his armor and looked at the scars with narrowed eyes. In the process, he motioned for Esabel to stand next to Wolfe so that he could look at the scarring pattern on both of them, holding Lily at his side so that she could look at it as well. Sometimes she spotted things he missed, after all.

On Wolfe, it looked like the claws were trying to go directly for his heart and throat, the rest of the scars showed where he’d tried to defend himself. But they’d basically tried to simply kill him and get him out of the way as quickly as possible

The real target had been Esabel. Her scars and wounds showed claw marks to every major organ, her throat, and even the arteries in her arms and legs. They’d wanted her to suffer before she died, but they’d wanted her very dead and had taken the steps required to ensure it.

If it hadn’t been for Ilea’s skills and knowledge of anatomy, Esabel wouldn’t have survived at all.

He finally looked up into Wolfe’s eyes as Esabel cuddled into her ‘puppy’ again, “Go with her, see to your healing and finish hers. The stitches and staples have to come out anyway and you can help with that after you’ve managed to shift back. We can discuss the attack later,” he offered, knowing that while Wolfe wanted answers as well, he wasn’t up to dealing with those answers just yet.

Besides, he needed to discuss them with Lily first. And his hand at her waist silently begged her to wait for demanding answers to what had attacked Wolfe and Esabel until after they’d gone to rest and heal.

When he’d asked for a distraction, he hadn’t intended to ask for all of this. Honestly! He’d really been hoping that he’d be able to get Lily to tackle him into the bed for a change…

Esabel cuddled into Wolfe, placing light kisses along each of his scars. She was completely oblivious to his current issues with blood and just wanted to get him some place that she could take care of him for a change. Of course, that place was going to have to be her room.

She only hoped that the slaves had gotten it all set to rights while she’d been out of it… It was a bit of a mess…

Nalyne knew he’d have to explain what he saw in their wounds but he needed to discuss it with Lily first before he said anything else. He needed her council on how to approach what he was thinking before he made a mess of it all by explaining too much.

“For now, you both need time together and Wolfe needs to finish healing. Better that be done in Esabel’s room where you can be alone simply enjoy being reunited once more,” he added then made a shooing motion for Esabel to help Wolfe on to her room. His armor could follow later; for now, they needed each other.

And he needed to talk to Lily…

Esabel looked up at Wolfe, “Let’s put you to bed, Puppy…” she said to him softly then made sure that his arm was over her shoulder as she helped him to her rooms.

When they were gone, Nalyne turned to Lily with a worried expression on his face, “In his time, Goh created many creatures. Before I came here I did my best to find and eliminate them all but there a great many of them, Princess. Those injuries remind me of two of the creatures that Goh made. One was a short-lived thing, thankfully, and only used during one of the wars he started up a long time ago. The second was nearly impossible to kill and I’m not sure that I got them all, there’s no real telling how many of the blasted things he made. They left wounds very similar to those that Esabel and Wolfe have. I say similar for good reason: I’m hoping that I’m wrong. They were a mix of feline, demon, and nightmare; they had blade-like claws and talons instead of hands, could run for days on end once they were set on a trail, they bite like vampires but with fangs like sabers, and were absolutely vicious when in a fight.

“The problem with the damned things was that they breed like rabbits. Finding every last nest of the things was nearly impossible but I thought I’d managed it.

“But their wounds don’t exactly match the ones made by Goh’s creatures, and some of them are resistant to your healing. That means that either someone found a nest and altered the creatures or…” he paused there, not wanting to say it out loud even though he knew that he had to.

Ilea’s condition when she’d come in to drop off the envelopes had to have been obvious to Lily, no matter how well Ilea was hiding it from everyone else. He knew the envelopes were letters detailing Ilea’s plans for what would happen when he had to kill her. He’d seen it in her eyes this time: she knew he would be the one to do it. Her crimson eyes had almost begged him to do it.

But he knew that Lily would be able to ‘see’ it now, that she wouldn’t be able to miss it now. Ilea was being drained and the process was getting faster as each day passed. She now only had a few weeks left at best and by then he would have no choice.

And now, there was this. The creatures that attacked Esabel and Wolfe had to have come from Goh somehow. Either directly or through a servant or something like that. Someone was intent on bringing Goh back and eliminating Esabel and Ilea at the same time. The connection between all of the attacks was nearly impossible to miss now.

They needed the Alliance now. They needed Allistair at work now.

Because they both knew that killing Ilea would be the hardest thing that Nalyne had ever done and there was every chance that he would fail in that task. He didn’t think he could do it… He knew he couldn’t do it… And Lily knew that as well…

In this, Ilea was the stronger one. She was already making preparations for that time. She was even making plans to keep Nalyne from having to kill her. She just had to find the right person to do it…

Lily was finally starting to relax with Nalyne when Wulfric burst into the room. She took in his appearance and quickly put the pieces together. The light around the room started to become more intense before she took a deep breath. "Talk quickly and tell me everything," she said. "There aren't many who would be stupid enough to try taking her. There are even fewer who could actually hold her and keep her from using her powers to escape. So that narrows things down quite a bit. If you can give us enough information, we can figure out exactly what we're dealing with and go in prepared."

the dark energy within Wulfric started to stirr slightly his sadness great but his anger greater "everyone is in danger, from the bond between Esabel and myself one word keeps coming to mind Goh..." the room stirred slightly, the shadows drew close as the dark energy within him stirred some more "she is alive but for how long is hard to say but i know where to find her, the mark upon her flesh is a beacon for me to follow" he let the cat out of the bag as he stood there his eyes changed his body not far from it, the dark energy coursing through his body gave him the strength to hold the wolf in for a moment but it was angry and it demanded blood as well as the return of the one he loves.

Wulfric knelt down as the wolf within him started to draw closer and closer "I was helpless once again to keep her out of harms way, had i not drawn upon the energy Esabel placed in a crystal i might have been more alert and able to respond to the threat" be paused for a moment the shadows drew closer and suddenly dispersed "there was no warning of their attack, no hint to suggest that someone had infiltrated the base, they came and they went unhindered, more than likely through the front door as there was no trace other than an item that was waiting for me when i left Esabel's room." his tears started to fall from his face as he remained knelt down...

His anger was beginning to overtake him the mark on his back glowed slightly brighter the dark energy reacting to his emotions his armor did little to hide the fact that he was bound to Esabel, but he continued "the images that Esabel has been sending me have been mixed up but from what i could see she is in some kind of throne room" he looked at Lily his desire to save her was obvious and would probably try something sooner than later.
