The strings wrapped around her made it hard to maneuver and it was effecting her ability to wield her scythe effectively.

Put who to rest? Wasn't he just waiting to go on a tour? Suddenly he was sitting before a door, and two figures were motioning for him to enter.
What was happening? What was real and what was fake? He touched he door and entered.
Strings, cobweb like, wrapped Alexis whole. Alice started her spiel, but the harpy was decidedly distracted with getting free.

It was slow going but Cadence let a small grin slide on her face as she manged to slice though four of the strings that where binding her.

Peyton opened her eyes, expecting to see a hospital room, and found herself nowhere familiar. She waited for fear to roll in, and when it didn't, she waited instead for the mind numbing pain from her leg to consume her again. When it didn't she frowned, and she tried to sit up, only to find she was already standing. There was a door in front of her, and figures standing beside it, strangers, unfamiliar, accusing.
She frowned at them, a crease forming between pale brows. "None of this is my fault." She hadn't asked to be dropped into a dream world, she hadn't asked for anything! Except...
Except that she had. In one way or another. She had asked for many things. Safety, happiness, content, peace. All things she had asked for directly or indirectly in one form or another.
So acceptance pulled a sigh from her lips, and she begrudgingly acknowledged the point the pair were trying to make.
In the end it was just another task. One more mission she had to undergo before she could go home. One more series of objectives that must be completed before she could actually wake up. Peyton understood missions. She understood carrying out orders. It was what good soldiers did, and she was a good soldier.
She had not experienced Alice in her time spent in wonderland, so she did not need the reassurances that the NPC would be alright. It didn't matter to the Sun. Cold, but true. If Alice was a program, if she had been messing with her, with them all, then all Peyton needed was to know where she could find the NPC.
Through the door. Alice shyed away at her presence, and she looked so scared.
Scared as Peyton had felt in that hospital. Watching that monstrous hand crashing through the floor, grabbing Kostya, squeezing him. Scared as ht e dainty Sun had felt as she'd tried to free him and every hit hurt her ally as well. Scared as she'd felt when it's attention had shifted and it had pinned her to the floor, pressing down, crushing her, breaking bones, rupturing organs. Crushing killing.
-"Not now.
She jerked, shaking out of the memory, the dream, the vision, whatever the ******** it was. She shook it off and she called Warrick to her hands as her focus narrowed down on the dark figure across from her. Alice wanted her to stay with her forever.
Well she just couldn't do that.
Warrick's blade slashed though the strings, snapping them, until only a few remained.
8/10 strings cut.

He continued slashing and hacking at the damned thing until...something broke and suddenly he could see....nothing. He was back in his dorm room with the minipets - both of whom were peering at him over the edge of the beanbag with unreadable expressions. Mawz growled, Mr. Snappy joined in for a bit...and then they both curled back up, ignoring the Grue and his crazy-pants antics.
Weird.. He'd...thought Wonderland was over. Wasn't it over?

She was no one's puppet.
With a snarl the dainty Sun had sliced through the two remaining threads, freeing herself.
"I'm going home," she insisted, half growling as she advanced.

Alex wondered what was worse: Being trapped in a web, stuck in a dream state, or having a million beetles nibble at your toes. He picked beetles. So all in all, things were looking up.

"Cut the strings, break free."
Inoke... And Ceres. The last thing he could remember clearly was that the three of them had just broken free from the monotones. They had battled back enough of the grey, mutated creatures to escape with the sole survivor of the attack that had happened before their arrival; the charred, mostly dead hunter (?) that had warned them in just enough time...
Just enough time...
At some point everything went black and from the blackness arose a door.
It was a door that he had seen somewhere before; a door that had meaning and memory. A door that contained...
Alice.
His heart skipped and fear tried to take hold as his eyes darted to the shadows writhing at her feet. He was certain that he knew how this would end; another death, another resurrection, but no. Something was different this time. Something had changed.
This time he had come prepared. He was not alone. He had a weapon. He had his weapon and he wasn't about to go down without a fight.
"Darth, are you ready?"
<I was born ready.>
"Good, I'm glad. Let's do this. I want to break free." More than anything, and all he had to do to achieve that was fight.

She felt her body drop lower as the large chunk of the spiderwebs broke apart, leaving her with the remaining strings to deal with. It should have been easy for her to pull away from her bonds, but these strings were much stronger than they looked.
"Just... one... more..." She aimed her wand for the last time and fired.
Then she dropped to the floor, finally free of her restraints.

Zombies and ghoulies and monsters, pak shet, is all Joy can think as she runs through the Deus compound. A million thoughts buzz through her mind, and yet her mind returns to one word and always that one word: Awake.
She's awake, isn't she? Although who she is, Joy can't tell. Is it herself? It must be because, because well, this feels too real for her not to be. This can't all be a dream, can it?
But so was Wonderland, she reminds herself grimly.
