(( Cruz: Food Tables w/ Axel ))
Before he had a chance to engage, the frei was gone. He was still transfixed on her as she left and only Axel's call of his name snapped him from it. Cruz turned back to the woman, his eyes still bright, wide, and curious, but his mouth finally caught up and tugged into a smile.
"It's okay," he gestured lightly with the hand filled with pamphlets, "Nice to see you."
He wanted to question the identity of the frei she'd been with, who he now saw was floating with Luka further down the tables, but the woman dove right back in. Cruz gave a low chuckle. "Good. Been good. 'Nita's in the kitchen helping. I'm--" the croc gave a quiet grunt and plucked out one of the pamphlets, then held it out to Axel, "--also helping. You get one? Everyone's supposed to." His vocabulary still wasn't especially large, but Cruz spoke a great deal better than he used to. He had more words at his disposal to get across his ideas and feelings and speaking was a lot less frustrating for the croc, though he still preferred physical conversation and body language to anything verbal.

((Cesc --> Meli, Zul, Eth; Shep --> food tables with Trox. Food roll: Shep 25/70, Cesc 29/50))
Shepard's eyebrows went up as he peeled another crawdad, listening to the pilot's explanation. "Ex-NHL hopefuls? Geezus, gonna get the s**t kicked outta me. But I'd rather it that way than bein' bored with it, eh? Gets the blood flowin'."
He took a bite and reached for another plate, piling the torn-off shells in one trash plate instead of heaping it on his own. He set it on the ground between him and Trox, should the other man also desire to toss his trash onto it. Taking another sip of beer, Shepard glanced around. "There's not any other Raevans that I know that play. We got Rhede -- he's part of my fam, he's the pink-haired guy with the antlers over there. Reks -- I don't see 'im here, but he's the one that plays goalie. There's a few other Raevans that're pretty athletic, though. Zul over there, the one with the three horns, he's good and strong, might help out if we needed numbers. Not sure about the rest."
--
Cesc was oblivious to any thoughts that might have passed through the heads of Zul or Melisande. As Zul greeted them with compliments, the corners of the stag's eyes crinkled in laughter, and he bent forward to half-hug the demon, clapping his hand on Zul's shoulder before pulling back. "You are too liberally kind as always. And you look wonderful, but I cannot say that anyone should look otherwise in Ethiriel's presence."
As he spoke, he pressed forward again, this time gently taking Eth's hand and pressing the knuckles to his lips, soft and gentlemanly. "Ethiriel, I wish I'd done as Zul did and dressed lighter!"
He floated back then, making space in the circle and returning to Melisande's side, his expression bright and easy with pleasure. The stag nodded a few times before replying to Zul. "Yes -- Melisande was good enough to sign us both up. Are you both going to play? Ah, and have either of you been to see the baskets they prepared for us? It seems they've tried to do their best to make sure we could all feed. I'm fairly certain I saw baskets with your names on it." The goodness and thoughtfulness of the deed brightened his eyes and rune as he spoke. He only wished there had been one for Melisande...

((Pasha -> Cesc, Zul, Eth))
Pasha lowered her eyes modestly at Zul's kind words, both of his opinion of her character, and of her appearance. Her smile was small and genuine, eyes bright when she lifted them again. It was still amazing to her that Zul's attentions were so kind. Eth seemed quiet, and the Muse matched her, content to let the gentleman speak and soak in the feeling of their companionship. She watched Eth's face, curious, as Cesc pressed a kiss to her hand.
At the mention of the baskets, however, Pasha glanced back towards the tables. "There is also traditional food! Some of it is very creative…Wasa has made a creature entirely of fruit. Even if you're not one for solid dishes, it smells wonderful." She wished there were more stimulating activities for the young female Frei, but surely Zul's company was more than enough. She met the Demon's eyes for a moment and smiled again, reclaiming Cesc's arm gracefully. It was a shame Rivener couldn't join them, it was the only thing missing.
Almost the only thing.

((LuLu : Arts and crafts table l Wasa ))
LuLu offered Wasa a warm smile and a tilt of her head, "I would enjoy that." She then eyed the grouping of snails. They were lined up in ranks tidily like a small army. "I can also bring something for you to enjoy." Perhaps then their exchange would be less one sided. The sigel was feeling satisfied; however, creating pipe cleaner minions was doing nothing to fill the human's belly. "If you want to eat," She motioned with a snap of her thin wrist to the buffet line that was beginning to clear out, "Please, do not let me keep you." The words were also directed at Lala across from her. "You have done plenty to feed me." Her wings flapped with a brief thrum of energy.

[ Luka >> Food Table | Tag: Isobel, Tatiana, and Revontulet ]
"I figured as much. A lot of people have been busy, Elai as well." He said with a smile, following the Chameleon's hand to spot the all too familiar figure of Axel near who could be Cruz. "I've been well. Isobel, I want you to meet Revontulet and Tatiana." He said as he gestured towards the appropriate Raevans as he said their names.
"Ren is a good friend of mine, a sweetheart. And Tatiana is a new Raevan I've met today." The Satyr's eyes glimmered curiously as they settled back to Ren's face on full attention before shifting back to Tatiana. "Pretty? No, I would prefer something like handsome. I'm no Ren afterall." Snickering, the Frei reached up to brush the Aurora's bangs out of her eyes.
"A pleasure to meet you Tatiana. And, really? Well yes, it's controlled but I don't think it'll stay tame much longer. We can get pretty out of hand."

((Henry –> Cafeteria; Mordekai, Anita, Duncan, Ronan | Ethiriel -> seating; Zul, Cesc, Melisande))
As soon as the name was mentioned, even if not by her own mouth, excitement became apparent on Henry’s face as he finally recognized her voice. ”Anita! Oh man, wow! It’s great to finally meet you!” he said, his voice louder than intended. He eagerly shook her hand with vigor before releasing and crossing his arms at his chest.
However, with a laugh, Henry reached forward to catch the lighter open palmed. Once the connection was made he showed it by tossing it back into the air and snatching it before it could fall further than his shoulder. ”Thanks!” he exclaimed, chuckling again before hoisting his grill onto the counter and burying the bic into his pocket for later use. He turned at about the same time to see Ronan at the mention of fish.
”That looks great!” Henry called, finally addressing Ronan though he never caught the name. ”There’s no way all of this food is going to get eaten!”
--
As Cesc came forward, Ethiriel’s smile softened lightly as she tilted her chin upward in recognition. She caught Melisande’s scent mixed with his natural musk – another pleasant surprise. Zul was the first to greet them with words, and as the two spoke she kept herself silent as to not interrupt. It would have been rude, even if she had also been addressed. She, of course, never rose to the occasion to offer them both an embrace as she couldn’t locate them, and she hoped that she was not seen as rude indeed.
”Agreed; it is wonderful to meet with you again as well, Melisande. And Rhedefre… a pleasure as always.” Ethiriel said calmly, her eyes lightly fluttering as her hand was lifted to meet her friend’s lips; to which she removed her hand from Zul’s with a gentle tap of her finger. She reached up for the stag’s face and once met, she floated forward to give him a kiss to each cheek.
Had Melisande reached for her, she would have offered the same courtesy.
”It pleases me to hear of their greatness,” she said in regards to Zul’s gushings. Ethiriel had, so far, taken a liking to both Melisande and Cesc – and knowing that, in Zul’s eyes, they were well received brought on just as much liking. ”Do not worry, Sir Rhedefre… surely you dress for yourself rather than others. You must not worry about me. And no, sadly I will not be participating,” she continued, reaching back for Zul as she drifted, though one hand remained on Cesc’s shoulder until she could feel the warmth of the demon’s hand.
”I am afraid I bear no appetite,” Ethiriel admitted, her expression faltering. Keeping up appearances was harder than it used to be—

(( Zul → Seating with Ethiriel, Cesc and Melisande ))
The demon waited in silence as Ethiriel was greeted, smiling a little to himself as he watched the three interact. It warmed him, tugging at his pride that three of his precious individuals got along so well. Of course, he'd had no hand in their upbringing or personalities, but it still was a comfort that those he wished to keep close were of a positive sort.
"I've no intent to join the games," he echoed the Tea Frei's sentiment, extending his hand to gingerly accept hers, drawing her back to himself when the greeting had passed. "And I've little hunger as well. Perhaps later." Zul was not a public eater, even less so to his natural food, which he was certain the basket was full of. It made him uncomfortable.
The strange flicker across Ethiriel's face was not lost on the demon, his own expression tightening slightly. Inwardly, he wondered if he'd need to Have a Talk with Henry and the care of his ward...
"There are many new faces," he commented idly, glancing again towards the tables. "Both human and Raevan. I think there are less that I know than I don't." Which was surprising to him, given where his Guardian worked.

((Wasa - Craft Table | Lulu => Buffet => Seating | Meli))
Wasa's eyes followed the quick gesture of her hand towards the buffet table. There were many more offerings since she last look, not least of which was the pile of freshly boiled corn and crustacea threatening to spill over the edge of the table. "I suppose I should take a gander..." The sweet slosh of fruity flavors in her belly craved something savory to sop up the sugar. "I'm glad you enjoyed my, uh, 'cooking.'" She stood and brushed her hands on her skirts to free them from the little bits of fluff from the pipe cleaners. "I really do hope you'll come by someday. I'm sure you can find me" She pointed back to the building to indicate that the Lab staff could point her in the right direction.
She made her final parting motions, smiling at the Sigel and gathering the snails in a neat little barrack on a paper mushroom. With her crafts out of the way, she made her way back to the buffet table and made herself a proper plate, grabbing several of the offered foods. Almost the mod-podge of foods she made special room for two of Pasha's strawberries, a light and dark, a plump carrot muffin, and a half-cob of corn from the steamer pile.
Looking at the tables, she found Melisande grouped with 3 others she could only assume were other Raevans from the presence of horns and wings. Cesc, to be certain, and two others she did not recognize. Hoping to catch her attention when available, Wasa crossed her view and took at seat and the nearest table to eat. She picked up the corncob first, her teeth nibbling delicately until a single kernel was dislodged. In this manner she moved her way down the line. This was going to be a long process.

((Cesc --> Zul, Meli, Eth, Wasa | food: Cesc 31/50))
"Don't cheat yourselves out of a snack," said the stag agreeably, his smile warm and easy. He had not missed the flicker of discomfort in Ethiriel's gaze, and he knew from where it came. But he did not mean to prod at her lingering depression. She had come to be buoyed, he thought, to be lightened by the moods of those around her. And though she may sting from being separated from her previous guardian, it was impossible to miss that she was now far more social than she had been before.
When they met, she'd told him. She didn't get out much. She had wanted to see a little through his eyes, damaged and depressed though he was then. Now she was lightly tanned, and clearly adored by more than one. Cesc believed in Henry. In time, Ethiriel would be well.
"I've been impressed with their resourcefulness. I almost didn't tell them I feed on dawn so as not to put them in a quandary, but I did, and they gave me this." Cesc continued, holding up the small white bead, his eyes bright and pleased. He lifted it to his eye for a moment, as though making sure it was still 'full', and then passed it to Zul, encouraging. The eye he'd held it to was slightly brighter than the other for a brief moment, and his rune glowed gold beneath his shirt.
To Ethiriel, in explanation, he continued. "It's a bead that's somehow full of dawn. You can see the sun just starting to rise in a lovely view, soft greens broken by traveling gold -- and somehow it is not a video! I can actually feed from it. I am not sure how they did it, some magic, perhaps. All I can say is that I'm beyond impressed."
He turned then after he spoke, looking around himself. "Yes, I see what you mean. I know some, and have met some today. But there's more humans here that I haven't met, actually. Surely they aren't all guardians...? Ah -- and there's Wasa there, looking at us, actually -- hello, Wasa!" Cesc lifted a hand to her, waving.

((Pasha -> Zul, Eth, Cesc, Wasa))
She'd missed Eth's look, but noticed her friend as she passed. Pasha waved at Wasa as well, not wishing to disturb the Artist's meal, but eager to introduce her. "Wasa! When you're finished, come meet my friends?" She called the invitation out with a smile, flowers big and bright at her temples. It was obvious the Muse was enjoying herself, and having Wasa here made it all the better.
She glanced at the speck of light fading in Cesc's eye, and her smile dimpled. It wouldn't do the same thing for Zul, she knew…but that didn't keep her from watching the Demon as he turned it over in his hand. An idea came to her, suddenly, and she glanced at Eth with wide eyes, waiting for the girl to take the bead.
It was worth a shot...

Wasa swallowed a line of kernels as mid-glance as the two familiar Raevans acknowledged her. She waved back and then gripped the edge of her tray. "I... I don't mind coming over now if it isn't a bother." A mouth full of food was a good way not to go off on a random, nervous tangent in front of all of Pasha's friends. She poked the corn on her plate to hide the neat little lines of bare cob before shifting seats.
In her new spot, she nodded politely to the rest of the table. "My name is Wasa, like they say. Is everyone having fun so far?" She peeled back the wrapper of one of Lulu's carrot muffins and spread it flat around the pastry before breaking it into quarters and popping one in her mouth.

"Yes!" She was having fun, and the day was getting even better as it progressed. The Muse gave Cesc's arm a gentle squeeze.
Pasha opened her mouth to introduce Zul and Eth, but recalled the scolding playfully given to Cesc by a Frei not more than an hour ago. Instead of speaking up, she made sure there was room for Wasa and gazed for a moment at one of the quarters of carrot muffin on the woman's plate.
She wasn't much for sweets, but that looked delicious.

"Two beers an' we're steamin' 'em, got it," Mordekai responded. He managed to run in and out of the kitchen to the patio to grab three, four bottles of beer just in case, then doubled back to continue helping with the search for Old Bay. Unfortunately for them all, there was no such luck in the kitchen, and he leaned against the kitchen counter in quiet defeat.
"Aaaah, 'course they don't got it here-- I'm gonna have t'go t'the store, s'like a fifteen minute drive from here," he looked back at the main cafeteria area to find that Duncan was nowhere to be found, "s**t, I gotta tell Duncan befo' leavin', though... where's he gone?"

(( Anita: Cafeteria w/ Henry, Mordekai, Ronan ))
Henry's greeting and response was appreciated and Anita was just as excited, but there was so much to do! She would have to talk to him properly when they weren't cooking. Just to be absolutely sure, once Mordekai was back in, Anita double checked everything. The necessary seasoning was nowhere to be found and she let out an exaggerated groan, slumping forward and crouching on the floor.
"Man, I feel bad sending you out but they're not gonna taste right without it." Anita chewed her lip, then glanced up as Mordekai started looking around. "Oh--" hopping back to her feet, she collected one of her braids over her shoulder and ran both hands along it, "Wasn't he on the phone? He's probably out in the lobby." Shrugging her braid behind her once again, Anita propped a hand on her side. "If you wanna go grab it, I can hold down the fort for a while." She scoffed and nodded toward Henry and Ronan, who seemed to be handling their respective food prep just fine. "Not like they're gonna get into trouble."

((Cam – Laz (roll for food) || Trox – Shep (roll for food) || Tatiana – Luka, Ren and sorta Isobel - ROLL HERE)) “ ‘s bettuh than bein’ named aftuh a flower, h’spose,” Camille said, lips around a bit of crawdad, regarding the horned Sigel cautiously. He paused at the question, furrowing his brows and nodding resolutely, “Yup, resurrected four days aftuh death.”
Camille was stuck, going over the words in his head. They were trapped there. Like everything else. Tiny times font seared behind his eyes. His grandmother never should have sent him to Sunday school. He shrugged and sat down slowly, Prosthetic not hinging like it was supposed to at the first go- making the process difficult. He needed to help is along, hand gripping the joint and nodding as Lazarus sucked the head of the crayfish. He smiled in response of the exclamation. “Yeah ,y betchur bottom dollar it is. Soaks up all the spices and juices real nice. Love da’ par’. If y’ge’ yer thumb in there y’kin scrape th’res’ ou’.”
He felt a hell of a lot more comfortable sitting down, propping his chin on his hand and eyeing the small groups and cliques having formed around the space. Lazarus’ question dragged him back to the Raevan and he smiled, eyes squinting slightly in the sun. He took a deep inhale and rubbed his right thigh, willing the muscles to relax now that there was no more weight on them.
“Oh me? H’m from America. South ‘f Baton Rouge in Louisiana? M’accen’ is proper Cajun it is,” He scrunched his nose, “H’ know it’s hard t’unnerstan’. Tryin’ to talk like normal folk here… Y’from th’lab like Tatiana, too?”
He reached across himself, grabbing another crawdad and breaking into it, eyes focusing on Laz.
--
“Well! Yeah but c’mon. Anyone that plays hockey in college is an NHL hopeful so don’t take that too far now. Some are good, others aren’t. It’s a good hodgepodge. Let me—Here,” Harrison delved into his cargo pocket, pulling out a small book labeled ‘memoranda’ and tore out a small piece of paper writing ‘Harrison Troxel, Harrison.TroxH@g-mail.com, blackberry: (189) 349-2121‘ followed by the practice times he frequents, “You give me a call, bring your gear. You can try it out. How does that sound?”
He gave a large grin sliding the paper over before rolling his shoulders and reaching for more food, “Blood flowing indeed, we normally leave practice and grab pizza and beer at a small pub a few blocks down. It’s fun. Old man camaraderie. Hope that won’t cramp your style.”
He glanced down at the plate, nodding and moving his shells to it, nodding in thanks as he finished his bite before moving back to the topic at hand, “I mean, I see nothin’ wrong with just blasting an email to the listserv or whatever,” He shrugged, licking his thumb and glancing around the room, “Make a small evening out of it. And to anyone who’s interested? Set up a time that works for all. Yenno? Worry about numbers and strengths after. Not that I’m about to treat all the Raevan’s like children. Tatiana came out and quickly put me in my place about that one.”
He snorted, thinking back to what a firecracker Tatiana had exploded out as. She maintains the intelligence and wit. Impossible to think of her as a young daughter. Some of the Raevans though? They were definitely still kids in his book.
--
Tatiana paused, giving Luka a paused look, squinting her eyes slightly and regarding Luka once more. Handsome was a different type of physical appeal all together. At least in her book. Something more bold, sharp and dashing. While the Satyr was definitely dapper, she decided that he lacked the qualities of rugged and smooth all at once. Trigger, a handsome dog, Harrison, a handsome man. However Belle- a pretty dog, Camille, a Pretty man…. Nope. Luka was wrong on this one. Pretty opposed to handsome.
“A tuxedo, a shorter hairstyle and darker colors. Handsome. However, you are light, flowy, soft. To me those are the qualities of pretty- both of you sparkle and maintain a delicate elegance,” She nodded, tilting her head with squinted eyes, “But. If you prefer it, since both adjectives reside in the realm of beauty. I will substitute your word for the meaning of mine. Although I hope it’s not due to social constructs regarding words for specific genders.”
Tatiana explained herself, tacking the last part on in cautionary means, “But the pleasure is all mine. I assure you.”
The Frei looked to Revontulet, then to the rest of the party, “There’s a Raevan ‘food’ table. Should we go investigate?”
She asked, eyes locked on said table, the question directed to both Ren and Luka- and even the fourth Raevan that joined their party. She made sure this was evident with a passing glance to each of them.
