"In theory yes, assuming the tents work like the bags," Lin nodded, "I've had really small siblings that hid in those bags on more than one occasion and Senka who likes to hide when you're around does too. She's a cat, so that behaviour goes without saying."
Senka was only out when no one was looking, maybe all the traveling had mellowed the cat out, or she just preferred not to be around so many people.
"But the best person who would know is Miyuki she designed the tents and had done some of the bags. The older ones were from when she was little, but the newer ones she did herself."

Kyrie nodded. "Good. Then while I'm gone, I'd like you to experiment with one of them, see if someone can be inside it when it's packed away. If it works, maybe we can simply have most people in the tent and in a bag and get in the city that way."
She looked around. "Uruloki!"
The great red dragon turned towards his mistress, then came and knelt next to her. "Yes?"
"We're going to Dekra." She climbed up onto his back. "And fast."
She settled in at the base of his neck, then turned to the others. "Anything else before I go?"

Lin shook her head, "Nothing that I can think of, I'll tell Miyuki since this is more her territory than mine."
Just because she used the bags didn't mean she knew much about them. Though Miyuki would certainly be interested in the possibility it could present if this worked.

Kyrie nodded. "Good. Anyone else?"
The others shook their heads, and Kyrie nodded again. "Good. Then I'll be back shortly. And Mari, Mathias ... try not be a bad influence on the others."
She gave them a meaningful look. Mathias glared back at her, but Mari just laughed. "Go on. We'll be here."
"Good." Uruloki leaped into the air, wings spread wide; and in a moment, he and Kyrie were gone.

"Come on," Lin was amused by Kyrie's last warning, "Let's get back to the others and ask Miyuki if that's possible or not."
She had to wonder what Kyrie meant by that though, though it was clear Mathias didn't appreciate the teasing.

"I'm going to go help my family finish packing," Arphenion said; and he headed off towards his house.
Mari and Mathias however came along with Lin.
"What did Kyrie mean about space in the tents?" Mari asked Lin curiously as they headed back towards the children. "A tent is a tent, is it not?"

"Well.... we would have to set up a tent and bring you inside to explain, because I don't think I could explain it very well," Lin admitted, "Let's just say you can't judge some things we own by the outside."
She doubted Mari would believe her unless she saw it for herself. Or at least until Miyuki opened her mouth to talk or explain the tents.
Miyuki saw her mother coming back with some others and waved.

Andarien glanced up when Miyuki waved and saw Lin and the others coming towards them, and he smiled weakly and waved with just a few fingers. He wasn't feeling quite as nauseous anymore, though he was still feeling quite weak.
Lancaeriel and Wren were also there, and the two had been in deep discussion with Chesnet (with Lancaeriel doing the translating). When Lin, Mari and Mathias approached them, however, they stopped and turned towards them.
"So what's the verdict?" Chesnet asked them.
"Dekra," Mari replied, ignoring Mathias' scowl. "Kyrie's going to see if Tsara has room for us and is willing to take us in."
Chesnet didn't look too happy at the thought, but he simply nodded. "It's going to be fun getting in," he commented thoughtfully.

Miyuki nodded at this, her ears laid flat against her skull. To be that close to where the General was, that didn't sound fun at all. Her thoughts though were interrupted by her mother.
"Miyuki, Kyrie wants to know that if an object or a person would stay in a tent when it closed if it would still be there and perfectly fine?" Lin asked, deciding to get it out of the way now.
Miyuki ears perked up and then realized very quickly what Kyrie wanted and nodded at.
"Oh yea, granted it's not made like the bags, but better than that, because the tents are simply an entrance to a bubble that was created in a different dimensional plane. Most would think that hard but planes have different rules than our own and the idea of making one into existence isn't that hard. It was just hard constructing what would be inside, using the tent as a template made it easy. I had hoped you know to make a moving home but a home is a different layout than a tent and those two ideas really clash and I never got around to doing that, but it would make a great mobile hom-"
"So yes," Lin cut her daughter off before she went into her own little world.
Sometimes, she was just as bad as Shiro.
Miyuki nodded, "Yes, the person wouldn't even know anything has changed. Senka never did, left some bedding and packed her up on occasion knowing we would unpack at the end of the day. Actually now that I think about it, Senka had gotten into one of the tents shortly after we put them up, she's probably still in one of them."

Mari, Mathias and Chesnet all looked confused, but Lancaeriel looked thoughtful.
"So what you are saying," she said slowly, "is that if we were to all go into a tent, and the tent were to go into a bag, then one of us could simply walk into the city, open the bag and tent wherever it is we're hoping to stay, and we would simply step out and be completely undetected?"
"I like that idea, if it means I get to sleep for a bit," Andarien murmured, closing his eyes. He was still pale, though he was no longer sweating.

Miyuki nodded at this, "After all the tent entrance is what allows a person to move from one... I guess space to another. No one would suspect that a tent that is collapsed and packed away would hold people."
She paused and then added a bit wryly.
"Though, I wouldn't want them searching one of the endless bags, the impossible amount of stuff in them would weird them out and call attention anyways if they decided to do bag searches."

"I doubt we would have to worry about bag searches," Mari murmured thoughtfully. "The soldiers do a very good job making sure no one has things they're not supposed to have, so they wouldn't have to worry about people bringing things into the city they shouldn't. I think they're more worried about things being taken out of the city, to be honest."
"Our fault," Mathias offered with a grunt. "Taking all those weapons and armour."
Mari smiled faintly. "Yes. And I'm wondering ... there may be a way to have us enter the city without any question at all. Provided, of course, that Tsara agrees to house us for our stay ..."
She trailed off thoughtfully and looked towards Arphenion and Dae'er's home.

"What are you thinking?" Lin asked.
Since it sounded like Mari had a completely different plan than the one that Kyrie had thought up.

Mari glanced at Lin. "It is well known by the General that Arphenion and Dae'er live out here. He has more or less ignored them since he took their firstborn son, but he does keep an eye on them. If as Kyrie suggests we make it look as if our homes have been destroyed by dragons, then it would only make sense that they would decide to move to the city to live with their last remaining family, even if she is closer under the General's eye."
She shrugged. "I'm merely suggesting that Arphenion and Dae'er could carry us into the city and to Tsara's house without suspicion. That is all."

"Ah...." Lin understood and nodded, "Why does he keep a close eye on them? I mean besides taking their firstborn, which is a bit odd to begin with."
It sounded like something out of a twisted fairy tale.
