Ratchet found himself waiting in a very fine restaurant. The floors were a teak wood, with a bubbling fountain running through the center of the restaurant, looking like a stream with bamboo plants tastefully planted along it's length. Koi swam around inside and at the right angle the fountain held a flash of copper or silver; seems people often throw coins in the fountain for luck.
The booths were low tables one could kneel with cushions for comfort; for privacy, screens of real growing bamboo plants separated each booth from sight.
The counter was teak wood as well, and there were bamboo stools people could sit at while waiting for their food or for their to-go orders. It was right infront of the sushi area of the restaurant, complete with a clear case which held the fish and you could watch the sushi chefs work.
Behind the chefs was a MASSIVE Aquarium, with fish from all over the world swimming within; it stretched up to the ceiling from the floor and curved out of sight into the cooking area where more hot dishes were prepared. The aquarium cast a mottled blue light over the bar.
The walls were murled to look like a bamboo forest, and sumi scrolls displaying various subjects lined the walls and the place was lit by blue and green paper lanterns.
The other customers just stared at Ratchet as he placed his order; but upon hearing the name Miss Nigiri, the staff leapt into the action, immediately finishing up any orders and clearing the whole kitchen to work on the large order.

Finita nodded and watched her trusted assistant leave. She smiled at him, before grabbing the two tanks with the Mermaid and Cecelia inside. She pushed them towards the door and nodded for me to follow.
She pushed them to the elevator and somehow managed to push the tanks inside, but as a result there was no space for her or myself...
She peered in and squeezed one of her big hands between the tanks and the buttons, and managed to press the buttons she wanted before retreating from the elevator.
The doors closed with a bing! And I had already pressed the button for another elevator.
The two of us stepped in and waited as the Elevator descended down into the sub basement levels of the lab building.
Finita stepped out just to catch the doors closing for the other Elevator, and she pushed them back open gently, and she slowly fanagled the two tanks back out of the elevator.
Finita immediately took the Mermaid tank and vanished down a hall with it for about 10 minutes before retuning, alone. She smiled at us.
Now, ours is this way.
She started pushing Cecelia's tank, I followed after her.
The first room we stopped in was Cecelia's. Finita stopped th grab the tank by the handles as whatever was inside would not be good for the wheels of the wagon, and she hauled it inside; I followed.
It was a massive room, filled with hot moist air and looking like we just stepped from the cold white walls of a laboratory straight onto a tropical beach. The walls were a bright blue and sand lined this edge of the room, descending into a slope. The room was filled with water that came up to our toes, lapping gently at the beach.
Another large boulder stuck out of the water as well, a perfect place for the siren to wrap her tail about the rock and sing to her heart's content.
There was a small dock and a rowboat nearby, incase Cecelia wanted visitors.
In the center of the room was a small tropical island, complete with palm trees and tropical foliage.
Finita hauled the tank over to the shore and pressed her hoof up against the side.
Ready Cecelia?
I looked about in wonder. If it wasn't for the blue walls, I would have immediately thought we were in the Mediterranean!

The long her waited, the more he noticed the restaurant. It was charming and elegant. It looked very expensive though. Ratchet was a bit surprised at the restaurant's actions when he mentioned this was all for Miss Nigiri. Perhaps she was even more famous than he had realized? Taking a seat he waited patiently noticing the fish swimming around in the giant tank. Whimsical this place was, he wondered how many times the Kitsune had eaten here on a daily basis.
Maybe there were other powers at work here? Powers that he could never understand. When the food was ready, workers helped him carry it all out to his car. Several trips would be made back at the lab but it was alright. By the time Finita would be done showing the girls their rooms he would have everything inside.
Pulling into the lab's parking lot it was dark. Many of the other scientists had gone home that day. To Ratchet, this place was his home. Leaving his car he entered the building to retrieve a cart. Now stacking the food he made sure none of it fell onto the ground. He was glad there weren't any people around or else he would look silly pushing a cart full of sushi, cooked crab, and various other orders around. Hopefully this wouldn't be a normal thing. Though if they had the money to cover it all then it wouldn't be much of a problem.
Deciding that it was best to serve the women in their individual rooms he carefully wheeled the cart into one of the elevators and pushed the button. The elevator door opened, the ding echoing about the empty hall of the living quarters.
The sound of a cart being pushed came next and no doubt he would be heard. The first room was the Siren's room. Ratchet figured they would possibly go there first and was glad when he was right. The very thought of having to navigate through a labyrinth didn't sound fun. Noticing that his boss was letting the siren into her lovely tropical home he smiled at them all.
"Well it took a while but it's all here. Trust me, I checked about a billion times." he said with slight annoyance. There had been a few orders missing the first time so he had to wait a bit. Pulling various crab dishes from the cart he stacked them on the sand. The was steamed crab, cooked crab, sashimi crab, buttered crab, and there was a lot! How a tiny girl like Cecelia would be able to eat it all puzzled him a bit. Though he figured her drive for hunger would cause the woman to leave her tank faster than normal.
Cecelia waited with Celeste in the elevator, bored and not really having high expectations for her room. She guessed she would be going from fish bowl to a tank. Not exactly appealing. Not when she felt a yearning for open space. She was used to open spaces. More so than confinement. She was starting to really realize what she would be confined to here. Then she was wheeled to her room. Her jaw dropped and she pressed her face against the glass in front of her. "Room" was a terrible understatement. It was a crime to call it so simple a word. It was an underground paradise. A mansion for a siren. It was gorgeous and beautiful and utterly perfect. She blinked, swam in a circle and then gawked again. "Oh. My. God. Am I ready?" she gasped. "Get me out of this fish bowl. I want to tour my home!" She squealed with excitement. "Hurry, hurry!" She swam to the top of her tank, coughing the water from her lungs before pulling herself out of the water to hang on the edge of the glass. Water sloshed out of the tank and splashed onto the sand. Her hair dripped in front of the minotauress as she looked at her. "Are you sure you people are not magicians? This is...." She shook her head, at a loss for words.

Finita laughed loudly and picked Cecelia off of the tank and holding her, pushing the tank over and everything inside spilled out into the waters.
She laughed hard for a moment, tears starting to form in her eyes, until Ratchet came in with the food. She smiled big and settled the siren down on the shore, her tail in the water as he served the boatload of crab that Cecelia had asked for.
We're not magic Cecelia ... yet. It's just we work quickly. I've been working with this contracting company for a while now. And if I say I want something done fast, they do it quick. They had plenty of time to do both rooms while the others were working on the chamber for Silvia's ritual. Silvia's is not yet ready, it's about... halfway done. Mine should be done tho... hmm...
She looked over at Ratchet and smiled. Thank you... you always go above and beyond what is necessary for your job, Ratchet, even if it's rather uncnventional things you're being asked for.
She started to laugh again, at of the thought of how many assistant scientists are asked to get little 25 cent rubber balls?
I myself snagged a large white bag off of the cart as Ratchet came in; it had 'Miss Nigiri' scrawled on the side, and I could feel both cold, and warm things inside. I grinned wide, before looking around. Didn't want to have sand in the food...
The dock down the beach looked rather inviting, and I could dip my toes into the warm water. There was even a low table near the edge with some cushions for people to sit if they wanted-- with a spot so Cecelia could sit or lean against the dock edge if she so chose.
I started to walk over to the dock, carrying the large bag and hearing the gentle swish swish of the tip of my tail brushing against the sand.
Ratchet blushed at her comment. Shyly glancing off towards the island in the middle of the created ocean it was amazing how real this place felt. Cecelia would be happy here. The fake ocean was pretty deep and clear. Luckily the walls were padded to keep the sound of her songs inside. Ratchet's room was close to hers, and the last thing he wanted was to be kept up all night by singing.
Placing his hands in his white lab coat's pockets he turned his eyes to Finita. Smiling warmly at her he couldn't help but feel a little awkward around the woman now. She was..just so tall.
"W-Well I'm very grateful for you Finita. When I flunked college I wasn't sure what I was going to do with my life honestly. From the moment of my interview, to even now, you're still always so supportive. I just want to pay you back for it. I know, hiring a flunkie like me hasn't been that good on your reputation. You aren't the only one who hears the comments in the halls." he sighs looking down.
"I haven't become powerful like you all have become, but I'll do the best I can as Humanly possible. W-Well except for one thing that is....Finita, never ask for a glass of water when you're tucked in bed. I'm not very good at mazes and no doubt your room is a labyrinth." he chuckled at the thought. "Though probably I would now that I think about it. I just...don't want to seem like I'm in the way really."
With Finita he had known her a bit, but now Ratchet felt like he was starting to build a friendship with all the girls in the room. While sitting in the calming restaurant he let all of his fears and worries go. Now seeing his boss as a Minotaur, and the other girls as a Siren and a Kitsune didn't bother him.
"By the way, those are some impressive horns you've got there Finita. Though I bet they get in the way huh?" he asked. Usually he called the Head Scientist by her name when they were alone. Since he was with friends he didn't feel the need to use her title, unless she wanted to be addressed as so.

Finita scratched the back of her head, her ears wiggling.
Well, it's not like they're working with you, now are they? She said with a light laugh. You've done good work with me so far... I don't doubt that you will do your best. And remember... this isn't about power. This is for... She paused, an amused smile on her face. She looked around, as if someone else besides Silvia, Cecelia, and Ratchet was in the room. Her ears wiggled and her tail swished playfully. ...SCIENCE! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!She suddenly bellowed loudly, before doing a rather good mad scientist cackle. She stopped, grinning madly, blushing furiously. I've always wanted to do that!!
I was setting out my food on the table when I heard Finita's bellow and mad scientist cackle. I looked over and my tail flicked.
Trying to calming down now, the minotaur woman was still giggling. It's ok Ratchet. And a labyrinth? ...Of course. I''d rather have a forge!
The comment about her horns made her snort. she pulled off the pendent she had been wearing and she grew to her full size. The horns are mainly annoying when I'm trying to walk through a door. I have this pendent that makes me more easily move around in human sized buildings, but I still have to stoop to get through door. I don't like it much, it makes me feel like I'm being compressed.
I finally took a moment, after all my food was laied out, and I stood and called over to the three still on the beach.
Hey guys! There's a table over here incense you don't want sand in your food!I called to them, waving.
All this time, since I finished my ritual, I was thinking about what that red fox... my on incarnation's father, had said. I was playing chess... chess with what? And I couldn't tell anyone... who were my pieces? The people around me? I thought quietly to myself as I settled back down onto the cushion infront of the table. I waited politely for the others to arrive as I pondered this... puzzle.
Finita turned, her ears perked at the silver fox's call. She nodded, before collecting Cecelia's food and placing it all back onto the cart. She then pushed the cart over to the dock; Cecelia would most definitely want to swim her way over.
Cecelia snatched the boxes with a greed that surprised herself. She immediately opened it and counted her precious food. It was like winning the jackpot of food! She sat for a second just smelling it while the two scientists conversed. She was just about to grab a crab when Finita's voice boomed so loud that it startled her greatly. She pushed herself into the water in an instant, leaving her pile of precious food. Feeling silly for being so jumpy, she turned to go back. Finita was taking her food away! She didn't like that she was taking it at all. Or even touching it. Before she could stop herself, she uttered an irritated hiss. A hiss! Cecelia covered her mouth in shock. Then she blushed, slowly swimming back and forth, staring at the food that Finita was pushing in a cart. She quickly realized where she was taking it. "Sorry!" she called. "I have no idea where that came from." she explained, making it to the end of the dock. When on a place she was satisfied with(a very comfortable little place on the edge really), she grabbed a box of steamed crab off the top of the cart and gave Silvia a polite, if mischievous, smile. A steamed crab was in her hands the moment she opened her prize. Immediately, she broke off the legs and split the shell with surprising ease. She got the meat out whole almost every time. Snap. Crack. Slurp. Over and over until the remains of all the steamed crabs' empty shells were in a neat pile beside her. Then she was on the sushi. So engrossed in her meal was she, that everything else was ignored.

Finita turned her head and her ears perked and swiveled when Cecelia hissed at her. But she shrugged and continued moving the food.
Soon she had the food laid out all on the table. It was a fairly large table, end even the massive amount of food lay on the table like a feast for everyone.
I watched Cecelia swim right out and immediatly start breaking into the crab legs. I smiled, and picked up a dish.
It was clear why the people at the restaurant called me 'Miss Nigiri'. A good portion of my meal, almost all of it, were different kinds of nigiri; little slabs of fish on top of small molded sticky rice balls. There was so many different kinds all placed daintily on my plate in a colorful design. There was also sashimi in various forms and patterns, as well as two hot dishes.
And I felt hungry enough to eat it all.
Finita had ordered about half hot dishes and half sushi, in a wide verity of examples of Japanese cuisine.
I started to eat, first sampling a delectable Unagi roll and chewing it slowly. Finita did so as well, somehow using the chopsticks skillfully despite her big fingers.
As I ate I found my eyes being drawn to Finita's bag; a waterproof bag that she toted around the ritual book in.
Finita? I asked, after finishing a piece of Crab Nigiri.
Yes? She was eating a delicate piece of black cod with the chopsticks. She paused to look at me.
Might I borrow the ritual book? I am interested in... looking at it.
She put the food down and reached into her bag, pulling it out and holding it up. It was very thick, leather bound like an olde english tome. It had a raised relief for the cover, of a pair of gold slitted eyes like those of a cats staring at the onlooker.
Well, this is... that's never happened before...
The eyes on the book started to glow, until the eyes seemed to be completely concealed by the golden glow. She glanced to me, and I could tell from her expression that my eyes were glowing like that as well-- as well as my toy ball which was glowing next to my plate.
I was staring at it, as if in a trance again. I pushed my plate aside and yanked the book out of her hand.
The Book of Beacons... I said, almost as if I was looking at some holy relic.
Lying the book down and opening it, I stared at the first page... a page with letters my human mind knew little of what they meant or how to translate. But as I stared at the characters on the page, I grew to understand them due to my sacred nature. It was as if the page held not one block of text, but three, which overlayed in my vision in a way that was both confusing and both completely clear at the same time...
I picked up my plate and continued eating as I read... Finita stared at my eyes for a long moment, before glancing at me up and down... she saw that the single tail which I bore in human form was now slipping into all nine, blossoming from a single tail like a huge flower. They waved about like coiling snakes around and behind me.
Looking to Ratchet and to Cecelia, her face did not disguise her confusion. She then waved her hand in-front of my face, between my eyes and the book, only to have a silver tail wave her hand away...
Ratchet watched with slight surprise when Finita grew more! Gosh she was huge wasn't she! He had no idea Minotaurs were that big! Between her booming laugh and her change to her normal size he stood there a while dumbfounded. Silently watching as his boss was taking the food back from the Siren he jumped when she hissed, revealing a mouth full of deadly sharp fangs.
Of course what really freaked him out was how the girl was devouring it all. Cracks and snaps, crunches and sounds of stuffing delight came from her direction as she ate. Ratchet was now scared of the Siren. Was she still the sweet and timid girl he had met only hours ago? Heck her eyes were even slitted and she looked like a vicious predator gobbling down her prey without remorse! If that's what a true Siren looked like...he could only imagine what she would be like once her full powers were awakened. That caused a chill to run down his spine.
All the girls had ordered so much and was dwarfing the small bit of food he had gotten. Quietly eating he was doing this best to ignore the Siren's chomping and really wasn't paying attention to the Minotaur or the Kitsune either. He was sitting next to Silvia though and looked up when he saw glowing in the corner of his eyes.
She had nine tails now and her eyes were locked in the book of rituals. "Pardon? The Book of Beacons?" he asked raising a brow to the fox girl but figured she wasn't going to answer him because the girls eyes looked hypnotized. Giving Finita a shrug he figured it was best to leave the girl alone.
"So how many more rituals are left Finita?" he asked, out of curiosity mainly. Figuring it was best to strike up some kind of conversation.

Cecelia are at a steady pace, if a little fast. She barely looked like she was breathing between bits. Rather quickly, the boxes dwindled down to one. She was finally getting full and decided to enjoy this one with slow relish. It was then that she actually paid attention to the others. Finita and Ratchet seemed to be eating quietly, but Silvia was...increasing. She was reading that odd tome that the head scientist always carried. Her eyes were flowed and she talks were swishing around in every direction. She thought she felt a bit of heat coming from her. Cecelia quietly stuffed the last few bits in her mouth, and dragged herself close to the Fox. She was cautious but curious as to what she was reading. However she was too low to see something. Instead she lay down to bask in the extra warmth. "That was delicious. Thank you, Ratchet."
Lara was amazed at what was going on around her. It reminded her of all the stories the nannies and babysitters would tell her when she was bored or drifting off into dreamland. She wanted to know what this next girl was going to become. It was all happening rather quickly. Sooner or later it would be her turn and she wondered what type of creature she would become.

(OOC: @Angel: Your character will have to wait until tomorrow. xD lol because it's evening in the roleplay and everyone is eating dinner in the room where the Siren will be staying. >.>; You and fallen need to post more. razz )
Ratchet blushed shyly at the Siren's comment. Why was she looking at him like that when she thanked him. Getting lost in her eyes a moment he shyly blushed. "Y-You're welcome Cecelia. H-Have you had your fill?" he asked still surprised at how much she ate. This woman could pack it away!
It seemed she was also enjoying the heat Silvia was giving off? Come to think of it her body was a bit warm. Like mad she flpped from page to page as if she was in some kind of trance. Was she...alright? The chocolate maker hadn't been the same ever since she changed. Was everything alright? He pondered finishing the last little bits of dinner quietly.
Goddamn, Finita said. She's reading it like she knew the language all along, and I've had such a hard time translating it that I don't even know if I've gotten it all! She said, pulling on one of her horns.
When Ratchet commented on the name of the book she nodded. The Book of Beacons, yes. I don't know how the name relates to the subject matter... it's basically just a book describing the physical attributes of the various races.
After eying the Kitsune as she ate daintily, she finally said loudly; Silvia, can you read the book out loud for us?
I glanced up for the first time since setting my eyes on the book, before looking at Finita. Then I looked to Cecelia and Ratchet.
Would you all enjoy that?

Cecelia patted her stuffed belly. "I am indeed stuffed to the brim." she said, extremely satisfied." she answered Ratchet. She closed her eyes and folded her hands behind her head to just relax as she digested her very large meal. The kitsune was busy readying and the other two discussed something. She wasn't really paying attention until they said something about reading the book. Cecelia looked up at Silvia and pushed herself up into a sitting position. "If you wouldn't mind." she said, suddenly very curious. She peeked over at the gibberish written in the old tome. What kind of secrets were in there?
Ratchet gave her a kind nod. He wondered when her last big meal had been? Cecelia was an orphan right? Turning his attention back to Silvia he gave her a nod as well. "I'm actually kind of interested myself. After all I've spent a day watching normal women transform into mystical ones. I would at least like to know what's inside some, that is if you don't mind Miss Silva?" he asked crossing his arms.
For now he was glad the Siren was full. It appears she wouldn't be eating his flesh tonight! Hopefully! Oh this was silly...Cecelia didn't seem like the type of person to do that. Rubbing his eyes he sighed quietly. He would have to retire to bed soon. A week of staying up all night typing various reports was now starting to get to him. Ratchet probably looked fatigued anyway.
