Leo was glad to feel the familiar hand in his as he was being lead to the couch; the man was right, Leo could smell the light sprinkle of dust but it was an okay couch. "Oh it's okay, she just startled me a little bit. She doesn't say much does she?" he said, noticing that the girl hadn't said anything to him, not a hello or even her name but Leo wasn't too worried about it. Leo took off his jacket and couldn't help but sneeze again. "Bless me...." he mumbled to himself as he rubbed his nose. "So...how old is your sister?" he asked curiously.

"She's my age, so... sixteen," Samuel replied. "She doesn't speak due to... reasons. I don't suppose you know sign language?" The corners of his mouth lifted as he witnessed Sasha handed Leo a towel to dry himself off with, a smile evident on her face at the presence of a new guest. "She seems to have taken a liking to you. At least there's one thing to be thankful for about these apartments..."

Leo perked up a bit at the mention of sign language. "Actually, I do know a little bit. I learned a little when I was a kid before I lost my sight. Is she deaf?" he asked, it would be slightly ironic since he would have no way to talk to her but she seemed like a sweet girl. Leo felt something slightly fuzzy on his arm and when he touched it with his opposite hand he found it was a towel. Leo moved his hand to whatever the towel was attached and found a hand, he assumed it was Sasha and gave her a smile in thanks before he used it to dry his hair off.

So, the kid is smart. "Yeah, she's deaf, but she isn't very sensitive about it," Samuel answered. "She was kinda born with it, but we've gotten used to the whole thing." Sasha smacked her brother on the head as if he had said something that was too personal. She obviously didn't appreciate someone they just met knowing about something so private.

Leo could relate at least a little bit to Sasha's predicament. He got a little worried when he heard a smack. "I-is everything okay?" he asked, standing up in case someone was injured but it didn't seem like there was many distressing sounds. "I lost my sight about a year ago....it was tough trying to figure out how to live after that. As you can see I still don't have this down yet." he said softly, sitting on the couch and hanging his head a little. For now he would keep the death of his parents a secret.

Samuel rubbed the back of his head, though he was used to this by now. "Everything's fine. It's just a sibling thing," he said before he heard Leo's story. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that... I guess that's why your brother was giving everybody the death glare at the diner. Do you know how hard it is to try to be the happy and loud waiter with that kind of face of impending doom?"

Leo let out a small laugh as he imagined his brother's 'death glare'. "I couldn't imagine. But you played your part pretty well, you actually kind of startled me a little but that's okay. Where did you guys move from?" he asked curiously, wanting to learn more about him. Leo thought if he got to know Samuel well enough that maybe when the man was working he could come over and keep Sasha company.

"We moved from not too far away," Samuel said, not mentioning the loss of the homes of him, his sister, and his friends. He would have described their homeland, but a couple of identical-looking, blonde-haired people walked into the room. At first glance, one would assume they were twin brothers. "Smoothies done!" said one of them, his cheery voice similar to Samuel's diner voice. "Oh? Who's this?" The newcomer twins now faced Leo, simultaneously walking over to him and stopping right in front of him. "Yo! My name's Chase!" "And I'm Cherry!" said the previously silent one, who actually has a more feminine voice. "What's your name?" "Back off, you two. You might bother our guest." Sam and Sasha pushed the twins away and gave Leo a little space. "Well, you kinda know their names now," he said to Leo, a bit embarrassed that this had to be their first impression.

Leo continued to listen to Samuel but they were interrupted by a couple of booming voices which made Leo jump. Their voices were so loud he had to cover his sensitive ears. Leo was glad that Sam and Sasha made them back up, he uncovered his ears and smiled a little, this house was so lively. "I'm Leo. I live a couple doors down." he said softly, shrinking into the couch, almost hoping to disappear.

"A couple doors down? So, that was your boyfriend who greeted us a few hours ago?" asked Chase. "It's such a shame! He's quite hot!" Cherry commented, imitating a swoon while her brother caught her falling form. She immediately got back up and pinched Leo's cheeks. "This one's still so adorable!" "They're brothers, and would you two shut up? He looks like he wants to sink into the couch!" Once again, Samuel had to push Cherry away. "Why don't you two get the smoothies?" he suggested, to which the twins saluted and walked back to the kitchen. "Sorry about them. They've been like that since we moved here. Well, Chase has always been hyper, really. I swear his blood is made of soda."

Leo blushed brightly as yet another person, or two rather, guessed Ash was his boyfriend. Where were they getting this information from? He hated it when people touched him on a whim, mainly because he couldn't see it coming. He wanted to smack their hand away from his cheek but that wouldn't be very good manners, and besides it wasn't like they knew he didn't like being touched, so he cut them a little slack. Still, with all of the attention on him he felt uncomfortable. "It's okay....I'm just not used to so many people in one room. I'm having a hard time keeping track of whose footsteps are whose." he said softly, trying really hard to keep his manners. "Do all four of you live together here?" These apartments were awful small, it was hard to believe that all four people lived under this one tiny roof, especially when two of those people were really hyper and all over the place.

"Yeah, we're all sharing this apartment, but it's no big deal," Samuel answered with a shrug. "This place is the only place we can afford to stay in that's near our school, and we would rather not look for two separate apartments. It's small, but we used to have tree houses, so we can adjust." He took a look at an old, rusty clock, checking a time that he cared nothing about. "Do you plan on going back to your apartment sometime soon? I'm sure your brother is worried about you. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he went out looking for you."

Leo perked up a little at the mention of his brother, he knew he should probably get home soon but he really didn't want to face their previous discussion. Though, it was just like his brother to become so worried that he wander the streets nearby in search of him; his brother searching for him in such terrible weather, he couldn't let that happen or continue if his brother was already looking for him. "Yeah you're probably right. I should probably get going...I guess." he said softly as he stood up and sighed. "I'd like to hang out with you guys some more if you wouldn't mind. Maybe we can have a welcome party in the parking lot when the weather isn't so bad?"

Samuel smiled a bit. "Of course we can hang out again. It would be nice to have friends here," he said, preparing to lead Leo to the door. "Ah, make sure you get a smoothie before you go." As if on cue, Chase ran out of the kitchen with two cups of watermelon smoothie, shoving them into Leo's hand. "Say 'Hi' to your bro for us, okay?" he said quickly before racing back to the kitchen.

Leo would have protested but there really was no room as two cups were shoved into his hands. He looked down at the cold glasses and smiled a little. "Thank you but I think I should only take one glass, I need an extra hand so I can feel my way back to the right apartment." he said regretfully but he hoped they would understand.
