Atticus eyes widened at Mirai's request, she wanted Charlotte back, it may have seemed like a simple request, but that was not true. "Mirai, Charlotte is in Death City, surrounded by not only demons and kishins, but Divine's personal guards and some of the Blackwings. Even if we could get to her Condo, we would still have to face them all, even if we manage to beat them, there is still Divine, Noira and Scarlet." Atticus sighed, "It would be impossible to get her back unless we beat those three. There must be some other request that you have?" he asked. Atticus wanted nothing more than to get Charlotte back as well, after telling her to never give and continue fighting, he would be the one to break and he let her down. It was clear that she was disappointed in him, judging by how she reacted during the battle. "However, with Shira's plan, I am sure we can get her back, just not right now, but I can assure you that Divine has made sure to keep her and the child safe. Even though he may not look it, he cares for them and you."

Atticus probably would have doubted Divine's intention as well, if he were in Mirai's shoes, but she has not seen and heard everything that Atticus has. "Mirai, you may not believe me, but Divine has been suffering from all of this." Atticus recalls hearing Divine and Charlotte speak to one another, through one of he portals that Divine had conveniently left open. "He is suffering so much and it is tearing him apart. Even now, you should be able to sense that his power has been weakening over these months." Atticus stood up and walked closer to her, "I'm not asking you to forgive us, just to understand us. Even now, we are still your family." he wanted to hug her but he did not know how Mirai would react to it. He and Divine terrorized her and the citizens, they've killed thousands of people and caused many more to become homeless, what they've done is unforgivable, Atticus knew that.

Mirai's energy level would spike for a moment when she heard this. She clenched her fists together as she stared towards the water "So what? This is tearing him apart?" she asked "He should have thought this over then. I could care less about his feelings now. He never considered mine or mother's from how it seems." she said, obviously holding a lot of anger. "I warned him... I warned him not to do this... after seeing Eric's memories I thought I could prevent him from being so stubborn so then he could go on another path and we could be a family." she explained, continuing to not look at Atticus. "I was wrong though. He got my hopes up by actually acting like a father should at one point. Then he kicked me repeatedly when I wasn't looking. And when I was down? He continued beating me further." she said, pain in her voice though she refused to show it on her face. "If Texas was dead... I probably would have gone off the edge... He said I wasn't his daughter just because I didn't join him and kill. He took mother and my little brother or sister away from me and the last thing I saw of them was him holding a blade against her stomach. He tortured you and all of those other things and you are wanting me to understand him reasons?" she asked, looking over at him eventually "I can't." she told him with a somber expression "I just can't do that... I want to but I don't want to be knocked down again, brother."

Atticus sensed the spike in Mirai energy, he knew she would probably react like that and who could blame her. Hearing her, Atticus' mind was brought back to the future as well, he was there alongside Eric, he knew what was supposed to happen, he knew more than Mirai. "Mirai, you should know more than anyone, that Divine chooses his own path. He does not let fate or anyone else decide his future. He knew what would happen if he continued on down this road and yet he never once looked back." Atticus spoke as if he admired Divine's will and defiance. That was truly what made Divine a being to be reckoned with, his perseverance and unwavering will, he refused to let even fate guide him. "Do you honestly believe that he meant those words? That you weren't his daughter anymore? If so, then why are you still alive?" he asked her. "Why, after all the opportunities he had to kill you, are you still breathing? Mirai, you and I both know, Divine could have killed you or Texas at any moment during that battle." Atticus looked down at his sister, her somber expression causing his heart to break, "Look at me." he commanded, "No matter what happens, I will be there to keep you from falling. I will be the one to help you get up each time, so please, I beg you, let me back into your heart."

Mirai frowned slightly "Still... Whether he meant it or not... it makes no difference as to how much it hurt hearing that he didn't consider me his daughter." she said. After hearing Atticus finish what he had to say, she stood there silently for about a minute or so. Finally she moved towards Atticus rather cautiously before wrapping her arms around him in a hug.

Atticus smiled as Mirai approached him and then hugged him. This is what he wanted all along, she might not have forgiven him, but she at least accepted him as her brother and that was a step in the right direction. Moving his arms, Atticus placed them around her shoulders and hugged her tightly, "Mirai, from now on, I will be the older brother that you deserve. I will be there whenever you need me. I won't make you feel so alone anymore. This is the promise of a lifetime and I will never break it." he told her.

Atticus stared down at Mirai as she oh so innocently threatened to break his neck, if he broke his promise. Smiling, Atticus placed his hand over her hair and made it all messy, "Don't worry, I am not that weak anymore. I have you, Shira, Michi and the others all by my side this time." he said as he looked towards the area where Texas and the other girl were, "So, how has things been with him?" he asked. Atticus still did not like the fact that Texas, was so close to Mirai. He knew of Texas' perverted way of thinking and if he tried to do anything to Mirai, then he would have to kill him.

"Fine." she replied "We have been training a lot... that is it though. Atticus could hear it in the tone of her voice and see it in her eyes, Mirai was jealous or rather upset, that Texas was spending time with another girl. This was what Atticus didn't want to happen, Mirai is still his little sister, so seeing her look like that, didn't sit right with him. "Mirai, do you like him?" Atticus asked, right out of the blue. Before he does or say anything to Texas, he wanted to know Mirai's true feelings towards the boy and if it turned out that she indeed liked him, then Atticus was going to have to act like a "real" older brother.

"Unless you are trying to avoid this whole conversation altogether." he added before raising his hands to his mouth, "If you won't answer me, I guess I'll just ask Texas if he likes you." Atticus teased, wanting to see what Mirai would do. Of course there was the small chance that she really was oblivious to his meaning, but then Atticus would just have to explain to her.

Mirai sighed and glanced at the ground "Texas is one of the first people I met outside of your team as well as our family..." she started "For a while I have been really bad at communicating with other kids... like I can't act normal around them for some reason. Because apparently somethings I like doing in my time, many other girls don't want to do and guys aren't interested in. Texas was the first one I was able to act normal around. He was also the first friend I met... that and without him I probably would have flipped out and went on my own rampage." she explained "I might like him like that... I am not sure how that feeling is supposed to feel like though... I don't want him to know that though." she told Atticus as she glanced up at him "I don't want that to ruin our partnership. He seems to like this other girl he is with right now anyway so I wouldn't want to get in the way of them if I do like him." she said. After a few moments she laughed and scratched her head "When it comes to other things like fighting, I am fine... not stuff like this though..."
