Ami noticed that Leon caught her eye, but chose not to acknowledge him. She would always put her duty over her own feelings. It just so happened that at the moment, destroying the monster that was demolishing their home was the PERFECT vent for her feelings.
The gun whirred and clicked, runes humming with power and glowing brightly as a beam shot out from the front of the cannon, headed straight for the monster. Ami was eerily silent, but her eyes revealed the glee she felt as the plasma ray ripped through the creature.
Finally the gun sputtered out, and Ami had to throw it aside. "Do you have something to say Leon?!" She was in the sort of mood where even a compliment would've sounded like an insult to her mother.

There really was no end to it, was there? She just couldn't think of a nice thing to say. All that kept going through her mind was something along the lines of <******** ******** ******** ********> As if the island hadn't been in bad shape already. Now they had this?!
"The hell is this s**t?!" She growled to any of the nearby Sun hunters. Who of course didn't really respond and only spat out what they thought about this new threat.

She didn't need Vashi to tell her twice!
There was a bit of confusion, and by the time she finally kicked some terrified fool out of the way, many of her fellows had already taken shots at the beast. Then there was a blinding light and some unsavory words were shouted out at the thing. And now she was stuck trying to figure out this stupid harpoon. "The hell is with this place and crappy things?"

Life Division"What." Mimsy had exactly enough awareness left to very gently set down everything she'd been working on before she just stared, face stuck in a look of confusion. It stayed that way until her phone vibrated in her pocket, indicating that it had finally turned on, at which point she hazily scrolled through her contacts and poked 'call' next to the first name that looked right. The letters were giving her a headache.

"So you are trying to say that lubrication is necessary?" The stoic hunter rebutted, adding his logic into the mix. And throwing one shirt back to Robert over the head, adding his own soiled one to the wadded up vomit ball. Somewhere in the heavens, there was a clarice wanting the power to shine a beam of light on the slighty blue tainted, sticky abs. But it was back to the rune matching. "yes Robert, unf away." he told the manchild and turned his attention away from one homicidal Ami. "No, i'm interested in keeping my testicles right where they are and functioning, thank you."

"This think is a piece of s**t!" Fini growled, taking aim and giving the harpoon a good kick. Of course this really only accomplished her foot flaring up in pain and some more choice words to pour out of her mouth.
Stupid obnoxious piece of equipment! She gave it another whack just to make her point.
Vashi just snarled, unable to do anything else.

They really weren't kidding when they had said you'd need to beat the harpoon into submission before it fired. Thank god she wasn't stuck with this as her weapon! It would be so embarrassing to tell anyone about it. She used the hilt of Vashi to smack it this time.

This was ridiculous. Especially considering she had a huge a** monster to worry about! Damn, but if these were the type of weapons they had to rely on, they were kind of screwed!

Chel had been sleeping. She'd actually been avoiding duty, so it was somewhat of a blessing. Somehow fighting monsters was a lot better than being punished for slacking off. Something which Chel did often, unfortunately.
Running to the gate, she'd already summoned her bow. "Aw ******** yeah, let's get this done!" she cried happily, ready and even eager to fight.
Then she was informed that no, no weapons. They'd be using harpoons. Really ugly, scary looking metal machines that Chel was not eager to use. She hated interacting with that which she wasn't familiar with. Sighing, she hopped up.

Yeah, yeah I got this. Chel did not have this.

Chel's thumbs ran over the triggers, pressing them down in rapid succession. She waited excitedly for the arrow to fire.
Nothing came. Was she supposed to do something more? She tapped the gun, which responded with a whirring. Ah, so there was a trick to it. She noticed some other hunters hitting their harpoons. Wow was the technology really so out of place here? Yikes.
