None of it made any sense. Still questions rang in his head and his hands held no answers. Still, he had managed to catch 5 fragments, and that is when he took notice of the shrine and the other figures headed towards it.
The fragments in hand seemed to warm and precious. Could he possibly just give them up? If it was what the Goddesses want, then how could he refuse?
With a shrug he headed off to complete his task.

First the goddess, and now she was here. Where was here? Her eyes scan the area for a moment, trying to grasp as she came to be here. It wasn't the room she entered before, that much was for sure. Lifting a hand, she pressed it to her forehead as she shakes her head "I just need to do as they said, that is all."
Looking up, she saw something gleaming which made her instantly advance towards it. As she bent down, it seem to reject her and float away. She frowns even more "What the?" her eyes narrow as she attempt to keep an eye out for more of these shards.
She wanted to know what they were.

It was like passing through a realm of peace into that of chaos when her vision cleared just enough to see where she had ended up. Jagged edges were met with the warm blinking lights of fragments. Her eyes adjusted enough to see... jumping?
Others like her with the glow in their chests had already assimilated it seemed and had been busy at work. A nearby fragment was snatched by another shadowed figure and she backed away just in time to be avoided.
"Is this what we're supposed to do?" She muttered to herself, a nearby fragment catching her eye. It didn't seem like the strong pull which had gotten her before, this wad different but she shrugged it off and reached out a hand to grab one, lifting her legs rather than jump in a defiance of being like others nearby.
Clearly her form was useless and she toppled over a jutted edge and fell ungracefully to the ground, picking herself up with a huff and looking around at others who seemed laden in fragments. A "hmph" sound left her and she began to stalk after another one.
"They can do it, I can do it." And that was what she was planning on doing.

Every time an idea went through her mind was as quickly gone as it had just entered. It wasn't very concerning to the girl as the fog closed around her, sealing her into the new area. It was with wide eyes she gazed at the peak of the Spirals and down to below. The entire area was a glow with... things she wanted.
No, things she needed - or at least felt compelled enough to try for them.
Others were jumping, bouncing even and Mel'ae was happy to oblige them. Was that the mission? The idea of the mission itself was unclear or maybe she had missed the point entirely but the floating fragments had caught her eye and that was good enough for her.
Taking a running start she bounced up to the nearest fragment, hand outstretched considering her small size. It was too quick and almost seemed aware of her attempt and darted away, leaving her to land and look confused for a moment. The appendages draping down from the sides of her head twitched a little and she zoned in on another one. She seemed content to have missed as it left to more opportunity to jump into the air again freely.
But the point was to catch them not just jump around, right?
Shaking her head she felt a sense of joy pass through her body and she skulked after another glowing light. "I'm gonna get'cha." She said, body twitching again. I have to... right?

"Sorry!" She mumbled to the figure behind her. This time, she was careful about where she used her sneak attacks. She managed to pull one out of the air, hoping she wouldn't drop it.

The fragments felt heavy, but she was too excited to consider them a burden.

And yet another one drifted by that was well within Vettey's reach. With a sharp intake of breath, she contemplated the notion of reaching out for it, all the muscles within her arm already poised and ready to make a grab for it. A couple more seconds passed and then it was way beyond what her own arm span could place within her reach. She cursed herself inwardly at her own inaction, her eyes narrowing slightly at the sight of the other who seemed to effortlessly add yet another piece to his collection.
"Good to know that I've not entirely lost my marbles here... but what's in it for you by giving me a hand in this?" There was always a catch. Noone ever helped another without expecting something in return. She had somehow always known this deep down within her very core.

They avoided her like one avoids the plague and Ayrie found herself in a dead-end of sorts, finding only one fragment had stayed in view. She let out a groan as to high it was and looked around to make sure no others were watching.
She thrust herself up enough and reached out and...
...fell flat on her butt. Again.
Dusting herself off she shook her head. She wasn't going to find any fragments willing to give themselves up here. Slightly aggravated but still on task she moved to another spot. Maybe if she could see how the others were able to grab them so easily she could learn a thing or two.

It was a solid leap and a solid landing and Mel'ae held one of the glowing bits in her hand, feeling its warmth rush through her. She hadn't even thought about the leap when she made it, but had a sense she'd be able to get one or two in that fashion.
She looked around for some possible praise or a hello but found none and shrugged. "Numbah 1." She said, looking for a pocket to stuff it in. Shoving it away she noticed another some ways off and with a glint of her eye was off again for another.

She crept around a fragment using her most silent method of attack, carefully placing her feet slowly on the floor, and then practically pouncing on it... Only to have it slip through her fingers. Disappointed, she reconsidered her plan. "Maybe it's not stealth or jumping, but by hoping it would come to you?" She wondered aloud. Using this new strategy, she sat down on the cracked stone ground and waited.

A word moved through her mind and passed again and all she could do was stare down at her empty hands as a feeling came to mind only briefly. Frustration. Nearby she noticed some figures were already carrying fragments to the shrine.
Gritting her teeth she looked at yet another trolling fragment had evaded her grasp. Maybe you did have to leap around just to have a chance. She shook her head.
"I can do this my way. I can complete this task." She muttered to herself. But was her way really going to work?

Climbing a nearby jagged edge the petite figure had made another daring bound into the air, coming down on a fragment and rolling on the ground to land. She sat on her bottom ungracefully but grinned at the second fragment held in her hand which glowed with the same warmth as the first.
"Numbah 2!" Mel'ae said, shoving it into the pocket with the first. This was the goal after all - she had decided - and she was going to get it done regardless of how much time it was going to take.
Dusting herself off she stood, patting herself down. "More!" She called out to the other figures around her, though she wasn't sure if any were listening. Then she bounded off in hunt for her third.

Just as Andie grabbed a fifth fragment, he bumped into one of the others. He looked over at her with a small smile. "Sorry..." he paused as he heard 'Sun' then continued, already dismissing it like the others. "...about that." He finished and pocketed the fragment.

Clearly they were conspiring against her. Ayrie grunted and groaned as she shifted her body around, another fragment slipping by her fingertips and fading away. This time she managed to land on her feet but stood there motionless for a moment. Her movements were clearly unrefined and not the way to go about this.
A jealous eye looked at others nearby and she sighed.
"Guess we try it your way then."

If she could remember what hopscotch was it would seem she was playing a good game with the glowing fragments. She bounded and skipped and another was being rolled into her palm as she came to rest near a particular large and jutting piece of landscape. It went into her pocket with no hesitation and she cast a look towards the shrine.
It wouldn't be much longer now and away she went towards her next target.

Copying the movements of someone nearby she moved back into a running start and took a flying leap into the air. With a strong grasp she wrapped her fingers around one of the fragments and landed, staring at it and rolling it in her hands carefully. It was warm, inviting though not entirely active, or at least this was how it seemed.
With her luck finally changing she stuffed it away wherever it would fit and looked to the next one. To falter now would be detrimental to her mission, to what the goddesses needed her for. In a huff and hurry she hurried off into another cloud of fragments.

Some fragments were craftier than others, or that was how it seemed to the small figure as she gazed at one who had slipped by her hand by a few inches. It hovered over her head and all she could do was look up at it. There was something calming about watching it flicker slightly and float away in a slow escape.
Her lips came together and she tapped her chin, looking back at it. "Okay, well try try again!" She said, and went back on her way.

"I don't know, I just thought it was the nice thing to do. If you don't want my help then I can go my own way." Errand didn't really mind helping or at least keeping the other being company. He wasn't in any rush really to turn it in.

Stumbling forward a couple steps, she whips around and narrows her eyes on him for a moment. Couldn't he look where he was going? No matter, she crossed her arms as she nods to him "Don't worry about it..." not once making eye contact as she continues to look for the fragments.
There right at the his feet, she bent down to pick it up and it too vanished. Balling her hands up, she was trying very hard not to scream "You have got to be kidding me." then she saw he picked one up, so it only made her feel even worse "How did you manage to grab that?" she points right to the shard in his hand.

Unable to stand it anymore, Vettey made a frantic grab for the next fragment that drifted temptingly close and came away with nothing. No fragment. No voices. "It is. I guess you can... stay if you don't mind."
She sounded semi apologetic when she spoke to Errand, a somewhat deflated tone in her voice as she waved her arms in the air and made a sound as if to vent her growing frustration with the lack of progress with the fragment situation. "Name's Vettey. So... should I refer to you as Errand or Van or... Ugh?"
