Really, really hard not to start spouting off excitedly.
"That's all you need to do," she said with a little nod as Room #177 eventually came into view. Exhaustion had slowly nibbled away at her as they walked, and the idea of curling up in bed was growing harder to deny--even though the bruise would make rolling around as she did have consequences. Thinking about it made Stormy yawn, which she tried to cover up. "It'll be easier once we're on it and it's not in your head only--things always seem scarier when they're ideas instead of being concrete, you know? Like what you imagine is in the dark versus what really lies there."
Although . . . given what they were, it probably wasn't as good an example anymore.
Stormy paused once they reached her door. "Thanks for coming along, Gale," she said sincerely, squeezing his hand before sliding out of his grasp. "I know it was a little rocky in the beginning, but it was very awesome of you do practice with me and stuff. Even if I did lose the fruit fight," she added with a little smile, "it was really fun. I can't wait to see what you'll have planned for next time!"

Gale, who was watching Stormy carefully, did not miss the yawn, which made him both smile, amusement twinkling in his eyes. "I'm a little nervous," he said hesitantly, and slowed to a stop alongside her, pivoting around to stand in front of her instead of beside her. "I just don't want to disappoint you, you know?"
He reached out and took her other hand as well, lacing their fingers together before she pulled away. "Hopefully our date will be as successful as today was," he said, and leaned forward, pecking a kiss to her cheek before letting go.
"Now, go rest, sleepyhead."

Her smile grew wider at the kiss, again like a little burst of energy to help her flagging body. "You won't," she said simply, if decisively. She thought to explain, but . . . perhaps enough words had been used today. And she had to save some after all for their date! "And the date won't be as good--I bet it'll be better~"
Stormy hesitated briefly again, because she was reluctant to have the day end--like she was coming down from a sort of high and needed another hit, just one more. But she took a breath and swallowed it down; smothering in the early stages was a surefire way to damage the relationship before it really got off the ground.
"Will do." She smiled and touched two fingers to her temple in salute. "Same to you whenever you decide to lay down. Text me if you need~"
And with that, she quietly opened the door and slid inside with as little noise as possible in case Nevada was napping--which she had guessed correctly. Her bestie could probably sleep through a tornado, but it was always nice to be courteous nevertheless.
Stormy joined her in snoozeville not ten seconds later, more drained than she realized by the day's events.
