Vyntyr Health: -2 Stamina: -2 Attunement: 27
It was no good. She was locked out. She couldn't focus anymore. She sighed and allowed herself to stop trying. To accept the fact that she was done resting. There was just no other option. She opened her eyes and tried to be mindful of what had disrupted her ability to focus. It was definitely that thought; what was the source of the taint that follows me? She sighed. She was normally careful about thinking about that, but she'd just drifted too deep into her meditation. She'd let her mind carry her places where she normally treads lightly, and she'd been bitten by the beasts that live there. Vyntyr measured her breath and tried to decide where she would go next.

Vyntyr felt... Full. Her body felt like it was brimming with energy, and she knew that that energy would not last long. So she decided to take advantage of her moment of heightened focus and move further into the rock garden. A large stone sat in a stone trench, designed to keep it from running too far away. The young girl took a breath, summoning up the excess of power that fought against the bounds of her body, and allowed it to gather in her outstretched palm like a gravity well. She pushed her hand forward and willed the energy forward, feeling the massive rush of Force power leave her as it raised her skin in gooseflesh, her robe fluttering as the wind was disturbed by her Push.

The stone didn't so much slide as fly. It hit the other side of the long trench with a crash and Vyntyr was worried she'd broken it. Upon closer inspection, it was still fine. The ones who'd designed the garden had known what they were doing. She exhaled and bounced a little, giggling. It had been incredible to focus that kind of energy. It wasn't often that she got to cut loose like that, and knowing that she had that kind of potential was more than a little exciting. She felt herself shaking slightly, as she saw how far she'd moved the stone. Oh yeah. She could get used to this. Taking up a position on the other side of the stone, Vyntyr aimed to push it back to its starting position.

The stone didn't so much fly as creep. It hardly seemed to want to move, and Vyntyr had to wonder if all of that extra energy had managed to overpower her initial attempt. She sighed. It felt nothing like that first attempt, but it didn't feel bad; she enjoyed the expenditure of Focus, the simple act of burning through her Force power made her happy, so she didn't have anything to complain about. Hard work made her happy, and the harder she worked, the more she would be able to expend those massive amounts of energy. And the more she expended those massive amounts of power, the more accustomed to those works she would become, begetting even more impressive shows of Force. It was an unending cycle of power begetting power, and it was somewhat intoxicating to think about.

The stone didn't so much creep as... not move. At all. Vyntyr's focus had been elsewhere, and the power that she'd gathered up had trickled out as such a rate that not only did it feel utterly wrong, but it failed to stir the stone an inch. Vyntyr hung her head. Wow. Way to go, Vyntyr. Get your head in the game. She took a deep breath to steady herself and willed her attention to be more wholly on the task at hand. Okay. Let's do this. She raised her hand and gathered that ball of power again, willing it to remain together until it struck the target, this time actually moving it. Or so she hoped.

This time, the stone didn't move. But for a completely different reason. Vyntyr had felt the mighty rush of power, but it had felt... Wrong. Or right. Gloriously, incredibly right. She had felt the power rip from her fingertips and strike the target as a solid ball of energy, instead of as a wave, and the stone had wobbled from the impact, but had not slid but a few inches. Instead of pushing the stone, as had been her intent, she had accidentally punched it with the Force. She could see a small circular imprint in the face of the rectangular prism of rock, where the Force had impacted it, and she examined it closely as she pondered over the uses for something like this. The masters instructed them that hurting people using the Force was a dark thing to do, but surely there had to be a use for a hard-hitting attack like this.

She figured that a powerful attack like that would be useful against inanimate objects, or even droids, even if they were not supposed to use it against sentient creatures. She nodded and began to gather the last dregs of her power to send the creeping stone back to its starting position so that she could take a break. She really needed to work on her stamina. She was almost entirely spent after just a few minutes of work, and she just didn't care for that. She wanted to be like the masters, capable of working all day long and still being able to go strong. She wanted more power. To be a better Jedi. To be a better student to the Force. A better youngling. She focused on the feeling of the last of her energy flowing over her skin and gathering in the palm of her hand. She released it with relish, feeling blissfully empty.

Vyntyr (1d20+4 vs 10) Health: -2 Stamina: -2 Attunement: 0
Vyntyr was drained. Blissfully, wonderfully drained. She took a deep, steadying breath and left the rock garden to meditate and refocus her connection to the Force. She felt her connection to the Force growing every day, though, even if she did not have the greatest stamina yet, and if she kept this pace up, she imagined herself becoming a powerful force to be reckoned with in no time at all. Vyntyr took a breath and sat down, crossing her legs and allowing herself to focus, ceasing to be herself and beginning to be a part of the Force. An interconnected point of focus for the power that rippled and flowed all around her.

Vyntyr's mind began to clear and she began to focus on the important things; how she was going to gain power when she had mastered all that she was allowed to learn. She figured that at the rate she'd been going lately, she was soon to run out of new things to hold her interest, and she worried about what would happen when she had reached the limits of her self-taught explorations. Of course, it was not entirely self-taught. She was being instructed by masters and knights who took their time to instruct the younglings, but she was greatly inhibited on the subjects of her studies until she gained a master herself.

Of course, she knew that no one could ever truly master an ability as a Jedi; there were always new secrets and new fields of study to explore, but she knew what she was worried about; eventually, she would reach a point that her own limited knowledge was merely not enough to continue learning on. Endless hours of practice would yield abilities that were, while impressive, nigh impossible to improve. She needed to practice, yes, but she wanted a master to teach her the true secrets that the Force had to offer. She figured that the next step to becoming an apprentice was fairly obvious.

She needed to not only grasp the fundamental powers of the Force, but to show this mastery to those who held the power to nominate her for the Trials. She needed to show off, she guessed, would be the best way to put it. To make herself known. Like that Mirialan boy did every day that he practiced, although maybe not quite that desperately. She should focus on bettering herself, but perhaps her private training should branch out into more public displays of ability. She needed to masters to notice her, and to recommend her for advancement. She was old enough, now, for the Trials, if she proved herself worthy. That's all that was required, then, was to prove herself worthy.

That was it, then. She needed to make herself known. To network herself out to the masters and those in charge, to position herself to be considered for the Trials. She began pondering the best way to do this. Of course, there was combat training. Many younglings sought the open conflict of the droid training arena to force themselves into the eyes of those in power. Vyntyr considered this for a moment. But as her focus was not necessarily on combat, she didn't know if that was the best showcase of her abilities. There were always the many games and tournaments the Jedi would put on throughout the year, but, again, Vyntyr's focus was not on combat, and she worried about her body's drawbacks defeating her prematurely. There were tournaments of push-feather that she might excel at, though her knowledge of Force Push would require a lot of work to be competitive with some of the more experienced initiates. She frowned and opened her eyes, deciding that she would continue working until she had found some way to make herself stand out.

Meditation for attunement (no roll, because it's just training, she doesn't actually want the extra points.)
1
It had been a few days past, and Vyntyr was still no closer to finding a way to make herself known to the rest of the Order. So she decided to meditate on what she needed instead. She woke and dressed with only one purpose this day; to go into the meditation chamber and not come out until she'd figured something out. And it sounded like a plan. She took a breath and stepped out through her dorm door, making a beeline --or as close as one could make through the winding corridors of the academy-- to the meditation chambers, where she found herself a spot and sat down, crossing her legs and closing her eyes. She took a deep breath and attempted to find a focal point to start her mental journey. What did she need to begin?

Meditation for attunement

What did Vyntyr need? What was it that she wanted to accomplish, short term? If she started small, the seed might grow into something that she could use. Vyntyr needed stamina. She wanted to exercise the Force as naturally as she breathed, and to accomplish this, she needed to immerse herself in its power. To trust herself in its essence until she became one with it. This meant meditation. It meant practice, every day, until she achieved the level of proficiency that she craved with every fiber of her being. Until she was one with the Force, and power coursed through her veins instead of blood.

Meditation for attunement

It wasn't like she didn't know that her cravings were not exactly in line with the Jedi teachings, but Vyntyr saw no harm in them. Jedi were not supposed to crave power; instead they were meant to pursue balance. She didn't have to be Grandmaster of the Order to know that she was meant to conquer those feelings in pursuit of inner peace, but if she could channel those urges into something good, wasn't it worth it in the end? She assumed so, and made sure to measure her excitement in public. To temper and restrain her feelings, that others might not know them.
