Gammu was at work, distracting the hell out of the egg-thing. Gamma leaned into the pole and bent it over, then with a twist, brought it around in a winding motion. The metal pole would rend and twist apart from the base.
Gammu fired. Gamma's new club finally pulled free from the ground. One end, a light. The other, wrought steel barbs; jagged metal from Gamma's efforts.
Moving along the backside of a building, Gamma brought the eight foot pole to his shoulder and waited.

They wanted to play?
Mouth opened on mere instinct. Something was coming, was it tasty, would it feed, were they food, and other thoughts circulated. None of them really all that intereasting.
Its mouth was a bit slower then the bullet. For a freakish little fact - not that much slower to expand and then contract again. The bullet did manage to vanish into that dark abyss beyond those teeth. Problem is - it also completely owned the right eye tooth. It was gone - period.
Null was not pleased. No sir; definetly not pleased.
This became oh so obvious when it started to - for lack of better word - dance. At least that is what it looked like. Anyone with knowledge of children would not miss it for a temper tantrum.
Anyone without knowledge of children would totally not miss how the entire boardwalk started to shake violently. Nor would they miss how the entire wooden flooring - which was strong enough to hold a horse and hundreds of people - exploded out from under the creature.
This part of the way was platformed above the sea - right on the beach - up high on a rise so people could watch the ocean. Below the walk was the beach itself - shadowed under the wooden way.
Wether or not Null meant to go down there was questionable. But it fell anyway - wings and all - through the ten by ten hole it had just created. Not all of that going down.
The shockwave would blast sand, some store carts, and peices of wood everywhere in a circular radius. All of the effects reached no further then thirty feet - the damage very light there.
Down in the shadows beneath the boardwalk the creature quickly scurried across the sand to get out from under its hole. Intereasting things seemed to happen with it. For one the nostrils appeared to be...shining slightly. And the bullet holes from earlier were starting to steam.
Mysterious it was...

Out of range of the queer responce Gammu took a second to respond. With the system of pumps in his leg armour the pile driver slammed down into the board walk, Leaving a small hole while propelling him into the air. Landing the opposite side of the hole the monster had created he switched to motion sensors and fired another sabot round at the egg shaped creature.

Gamma heard the crash but it was too far after the SABOT round for that to be the cause. Gammu moved, launched himself into the air after the beast.
Gamma peered out and noted the hole and lack of an egg. Gammu was heading for the hole in the boardwalk, so Gamma went with. Creeping along the boardwalk as quiet as he could, readying his giant spear.

Null did not like these people. A fact that became even more solid as a nice clear hole appeared in its gimp right arm. More like its hand was pretty much gone. Totally not cool...
The creature would bleed - yes. A sickly black that poured out kind of like oil. It noticably bubbled as it impacted the ground. Also like oil - except the kind that would eat you alive probably.
It had only two responses - one slow and one quick. First it let out a sound much like a seagull screech. At this point it was under the boardwalk - out of sight of the hole.
Which it promptly turned back around to face. The glow from the vertical slits of its nostrils lit up the shadows some - revealing a vague location of where it could be.
Chances are - unless they could see through the board walk - they would miss its action. Both wings folding forward in front of it. Good speed on the move as they folded around and around each other like string. Or perhaps more like a funnel.
And promptly began to spill a blinding glow all over the area around the egg. Whatever it was doing - it was quite bright. The body was pretty much hidden behind the wings fold of wings save the beady azure eyes peering over.
It seemed pissed.

Gammu dropped down through the opening. Switching over to night vision the light beneath the board walk was amplified and gave him a steadily clear picture of what was happening.
His riot sheild infront of him as he landed in a crouch position his sensors swept the area, looking for the target. The odd shaped was picked up and the signal relayed back to Gamma.
Aiming up another shot, this one a cluster munition, Gammu pulled the trigger and let the projectile fly through the air, the distance being covered in less then a second before it flew apart to create a storm of flying metal.

Gamma watched the boards under him carefully. There was a massive heat signature over a general area- too hot for an exact point. Something down there was really ******** hot. Inside his HUD Gamma received an IFF signal and relayed positioning.
Gamma was basically using Gammu's eyes. Well, eye anyway.
With some careful movement Gamma found a spot above the egg. As the shrapnel shell exploded below, Gamma leaped into the air. On the way down he stomped the planks and they gave way to the force. Midair the lamp post spear came about to nail the egg neatly in the top of the 'head' jagged side first. Gamma would land just behind the egg once that pole scrambled the egg.

The cluster coming towards it and a threat soon to come from above. It did not really recognize either as much. Just an annoyance from the munition and the lamp post was nonexistant at this time.
And then everything seemed to come to a head as Gammu came down and fired. It was kind of like a timed really reaction. Null wasted no time in firing right back with all it had. And what was this weapon it was firing?
For best example - some bugs have a long needle-like extension from the area where a nose would be. Using his wings Null had basically just created one of these. And that was the source of the glorious white glow that surged with warmth and pulsated with energy.
Energy which was forcefully expelled from Null's new 'snout' in a big way. A 'big way' as in it came out of that barely five inch hole like a massive explosion - blinding intensity with the light. Moved with the speed of a bullet and ate most of the flying shrapnel from the ground.
Laser beam - no question about it. Pretty wide one too. About three feet circular - not even a prism to it. This would cut, piece, and burn if it hit. Unless the armor was specifically made to stop this kind of attack.
The second that beam left its snout - Null was gone. Not of its own free will mind you. More like the detonation of energy sent it tumbling over and over in the opposite direction - barreling into Gamma like a cannonball from hell with wings flapping all over with their razor edges.

The land had made Gammu fall and his shield had bedded itself into the sand. The shield made of the same material as his armour was far thicker and denser. It had none of the frailities caused by shaping armour to fit a body to its structure. It was in the simplest sense a slab of the same material Gammu carried around for added protection. The beam struck it and Gammu was forced to lean into it, bracing himself. When the attack was done a shallow bowl had been scorched into the surface.
Gamma was in trouble, but there wasn't much he could do at the moment. Letting for of the 40mm is slid into the stow away position as he took the TMC out. Moving foward he waited for a clear shot, the shield before him at all times.

Something went wrong. Instead of pinning the black egg to the ground with a pole, he was gut punched by something. A flash, and something hit him just about the waist orbit.
Once he hit the ground something was flapping around. Instinct took over has the HUD cycled to nightvision. As a reaction to a flailing limb Gamma wrapped his arms around both of the wings. A clinch from behind, if these were it's arms. With each arm wrapped around a wing, leading the hands to grasp the wings at the base; the stem against the egg.
Being pinned to the ground wasn't fun, so Gamma lifted it by the wing bases and slid a bent knee up under the egg. With the egg held in the air Gamma was in a good position to tear the egg's wings completely off.

No! Traped! Touching, holding, embracing, and perhaps molesting! Bad!
So it was not the smartest creature ever. Instinct had a wonderous way of doing things. If Gamma had seen the destruction earlier he might have noticed something...
Its wings were quite flexible. By 'quite' it means more as in those things could bend just like arms could. Big thing here is that they were much bigger then a person's arms. This allowed it almost full range of motion beyond the regular.
So either Gamma could let go as they flipped back and in from either direction - baring down on his sides with their scythe like edges - or he could release. Unfortunately for him the chances of them ripping off were mixed - it would take a massive amount of strenght and they were quick. Probably a choice on wether he wanted to be stabbed from both sides or not - if he could dodge at all. Up to him.
In the mean time - on the Gammu side - the thing was pretty much screeching like a seaqull again. Teeth gnashing and sliding up and down like razor incizors as it 'wrestled' with its opponent.

((SUPERWONDERTEAM POWERS ACTIVATE! FORM OF.... Me posting first.)) Gamma rolled the beast onto the side; pinning one of the wings to the ground with Gamma's weight alone. The other, the left wing, was up towards the air. Releasing the right wing and allowing his weight to hold it there; strangling around behind him. With a grasp still on the left wing he prepared an arm bar. Gamma held the wing a bit further from the shoulder, as it were, while an open right palm jabbed just beneath the left hand.
The open palm would strike and then continue force; pushing the wing bones one way while his left hand pulled them another.
It was crude, sure, armbars are generally used on elbows but with Gamma's strength he was likely to create a new elbow.

As he came up he placed the TMC away, close combat was the name of todays game. Just as Gamma was grappling Gammu was up close; grabbing hold of the right wing his heavily armoured right foot came up, the strengthen boot then came crashing down in a stomp into the side of Null where the wing connected with the main body. Seconds after which a back hand b***h slap of doom, his left fore arm with shield attached crashed into the monster.

'Pain! Pain! Pain! Pa-'
It was a pretty solid mantra. The thought bridge between it and him became just a bit thinner. This was wrong and bad and awful...it had to stop.
And so it started up the most natural defense for a creature of its shape. One that should have been seen coming from far away. Black charcoal flesh literally pulling away from the skin as if molten - though the form still held as the body seemed to pull.
Then they started to grow out of it. Sharp and pointy objects that could not be mistaken for anything but spikes. Not instant growth mind you. More like they expanded out gradually as if there were no end in sight. At least ten embedded into the sand and earth to hold him, no It, there.
And if Gamma insisted on hugging it...well...maybe close range combat was not such a good idea.

The wings snapped. Held together by only tissue as the bones inside were no longer whole. And now; spikes. Coming out of the shell. Luckily they didn't all at once impale Gamma, because that would have just pissed him off.
The first hint was the pressure on his chest where a spike tried to pierce the armor. Lacking the speed for now it just started to push. Gamma rolled with it, rolling into a crouched stance, but still rolling. As he moved to extend his legs for crouching, Gamma seized the crippled wing from the sand. In a whiplike motion from Gamma's momentum he pulled the wing and hoped to swing the whole egg like a flail and slam it into the sand on the other side so it was neither facing Gamma or Gammu.
