"U-Uh... I-I don't really know." Dragon murmured to the question and looked down at his fiddling thumbs. What did he like? He couldn't tell. Most of his time he spent alone, and he always hated that. He used to play and fly on top of his pet dragon Dog, but... "I... like animals." Dragon mused slowly and looked at Elisia carefully, wondering if she'd laugh. "E-Especially dragons. Oh! I like milkshakes!" he finally smiled, remembering his very first taste of one. It was the first human food he ever had that he could keep down, and it tasted amazing! So sweet and cold... It made him wonder what other human foods and drinks tasted like.

Well, I could make your room look like a dragon's den and paint a dragon on the wall... Nah. I can make the bed the dragon," Elisia started with a raised brow only to briefly shake her head at the confusion. She then started up on sketching out the design of how she was going to remodel his bedroom with the space given. Glancing briefly back up at Dragon, her brow raised slightly. "What about sports? Art? Instruments? Cultures? Puzzles? Riddles? Plants? Fashion?" she asked after a moment's hesitation.

"Oh! N-No, I just used to have a pet dragon when I was, umm, younger." Dragon insisted with a waved of his hands. Although he had to admit, the idea of his room designed that way seemed pretty amazing.
"Umm... I-I don't play sports, a-and they look too confusing for me." Dragon murmured while nervously pressing the tips of his index fingers together. "I-I only know about singing, and that's because that's how I met Lurtz, s-so I guess I like hearing people sing." The rest of the suggestions were like an alien language to the young man. Puzzles? Riddles? Fashion? What even were those? "Do you play any instruments?" he asked, wondering if the musical talent ran in the family.

Our dad made the girls choose two musical areas to study among other things. Lurtz was forced into learning nearly everything he could besides free will," Elisia responded calmly as finished sketching out the design for Dragon's room. Flipping back to her design of the livingroom, she started back on her previous design. As if recalling something, her hand stopped and she glanced back over to the boy. "I'm going to have a lot to teach you... Here. Until I get done with designing this apartment, you can flip through some of Lurtz's old sketches. You might like some of them considering they have dragons and dragon riders in 'em." With a slight flick of her wrist, the sketchpads that were thrown over her shoulder earlier stacked themselves neatly in front of them. "Enjoy learning a little about your friend and remember he has words written on the backs of some of those images."

Amy Lee? Who was that? Did that mean she sang really well? Dragon glanced at Elisia then at Lurtz then back to her. He bet the entire family could sing well. What would they sound like if they all sang together?
With the sketchpads appearing before him, Dragon blinked out of his thoughts and looked at them. All of these were drawn by Lurtz, huh? How much time passed between each sketchbook? Were there some from his childhood? Reaching out, Lurtz picked up the one at the very top and opened it up, gazing at each picture intently and reading the words on them.

I rarely ever caught him drawing in his little sketchpads so it's just my guess based on the way he wrote and drew. That one, for example, was our garden when he was about seven. It's been remodeled several times since then depending upon my mother's mood... Let's see. Oh yeah. That was when we learned the wedding was called off and he was about nine-ish. He'd only met the girl once and she was as sweet as can be to him, liking him even with the cold nature of his real personality. Once the wedding was called off, he just seemed to become a recluse until after our dad changed him and he actually fed for the first time. You can tell 'cause his handwriting looks depressed and so do his words. 'I close my eyes and drift away over the fear that I will never find a way to heal my soul. And I will wander 'til the end of time torn away from you. I can't go on living this way, but I can't go back the way I came. I want to stay in love with my sorrow, but, God, I want to let it go'. 'Long lost words whisper slowly to me. Still can't find what keeps me here. When all this time I've been so hollow inside'. His words can be so depressing during this time that you've flipped it to. What part I didn't really understand was 'blame it on me. Set your guilt free. Nothing can hold you back now. I can't change who I am, not this time. I won't lie to keep you near me and in this short life, there's no time to waste on giving up'. It could be to our father or mother or to someone else, but I'm not completely sure," Elisia said rather calmly although she seemed to hum the words scrawled on the back of one of the images with lines scribbled through it. "The only thing he's ever repeated on the back of a few of his images, this one included, is 'bound at every limb by my shackles of fear, sealed through lies through so many tears. Lost from within, pursuing the end, I fight for the chance to be lied to again. You will never be strong enough. You will never be good enough. You were never conceived in love. You will not rise above. They'll never see- I'll never be- I'll struggle on and on to feed this hunger burning deep inside of me. But through my tears breaks a blinding light, birthing a dawn to this endless night. Arms outstretched, awaiting me. An open embrace upon a bleeding tree. Rest in me and I'll comfort you. I have lived and I've died for you. Abide in me and I vow to you, I will never forsake you'. I didn't get some of the points in that, but I get the feeling he feels like our parents didn't really want him and I don't argue that. I already have too many siblings as is and I'm man enough to take my father's place when he does die. The other children are rather bothersome in my opinion, especially with his brain and how it works. For an elf-turned-vampire, he is extremely dangerous and can be very cold about things and the fae aren't terribly evil people unless my mother actually came from the Unseelie Court to which they are."
xXxXx"I'm neither court, Elisia. I was a wild elf which means I wasn't overly nice nor overly cruel. Wild elves are like blood elves in the art of survival of the fittest. I just didn't expect him to get the full workings of a wild elf what with how nice I was when he was an infant. I coddled him until he was four and yet he makes all of my daughters look like saints," Tahlia responded icily before going over to Lurtz albeit behind the couch and fiddling with his hair with a slight scowl. He definitely needed a better haircut than what her husband gave him. Such a pain...

Dragon looked at the pictures, reading over the words. He wondered what that lady Lurtz was supposed to marry was like to make him write such kind words. She must have been incredibly pretty and kind. "What happened to her?" he asked and looked over at Elisia. "Why aren't they getting married anymore? Did something happen?" His eyes flickered to Tahlia when she spoke, but his attention quickly went back to Elisia.

"She's refused to marry many purebred vampire noblemen's sons since then, but she doesn't really need a husband with how well she's been running her father's businesses. As for why the wedding was called off, well, that would be because Lurtz was born as an elf. Vampire noblemen are very specific about how pure the bloodline is the higher up in class the nobleman is. There are many classifications of vampires such as the living vampire, royal vampires, purebred vampire, halfbred vampire, changelings - or those of another species changed into a vampire -, bloodbonds, vampiers, royal crusiniks, purebred crusiniks, halfbred crusiniks, soldier class crusiniks and the Tyviniers," she started to explain before flipping back over to a blank page in the sketchpad in her hands. As she got to one, she started doodling out what looked like a ranking chart. Once she finished with that, she started writing down the names of these things in a specific order. "In the world of vampires, we have a system that ranks these various kinds of vampiric entities. At the top of the list is the royal crusiniks followed by the purebred crusiniks, then royal vampires, living vampires, purebred vampires, soldier class crusiniks, changelings, vampiers, bloodbonds, halfbred crusiniks, halfbred vampires and then finally the Tyviniers. Crusiniks are a more advanced kind of vampire and the natural predator to the regular vampires. Vampiers are vampires who have a tick about them that make them have to obey any vampire or crusinik that has fed upon them. We're still unsure about why, but they do. The rarest type of vampiric being you'll ever cross is the Tyviniers seeing as it was discovered many centuries ago by a small coven who changed an elven musician. After some time, however, and through a lot of pain and agony, he reverted back to his elven form instead of remaining one of the undead. There's only two known beings in existence who've ever had this issue; Tyvinda Evenstar, the wild elf musician, and Elrik Hunett, a half-faerie, half-dark elf doctor."
xXxXx"Based on their ranking system, Lurtz is considered a changeling since he was born an elf. His fiancée's parents refused to let him marry her because of this. They would've been fine if he'd have been a purebred vampire like his sisters or a living vampire as that would be going up in status in their bloodline. Unfortunately, since he was of lesser rank, they called off the wedding as he would taint their bloodline with his rank. Vampires are petty creatures who only wish to get more praise and better status than they already have in hopes that perhaps one day their child will marry into the royal family. We tried convincing them to keep the wedding prepared for he was a dangerous changeling, but they refused. Lurtz has been blamed by his father ever since for being the black sheep that ruined his chances of rising in rank," Tahlia concluded while brushing her fingers through her son's hair without him so much as twitching. He was indeed sleeping like the dead as he said he would be doing and that made his mother smile slightly. It was the only time he ever seemed at peace.

There were more vampires than he thought. Dragon nodded numbly when Elisia explained to him the hierarchy of vampires - his focus drifted occasionally due to his weakened state - and he scooted closer to look down at the diagram she had drawn. He studied it closely until he was given the answer to his question earlier. So Lurtz couldn't get married to that girl due to his bloodline. That wasn't fair. People shouldn't be denied their feelings because of what they were. Still... Dragon lightly clenched his fists on his lap. Was Lurtz still in love with that girl? If he was given the chance to be with her, would he take it? Dragon bit his lip. He felt as if he had swallowed a rock whole, and he wasn't reacting well to it. He assumed it was because of his body reacting to the loss of blood, but he knew deep down it was connected to the possibility of losing his only friend.
Fortunately, Tahlia's voice snapped him from his thoughts. He lifted his golden eyes to watch her stroke her son's hair and listened to her talk about how dangerous said son was. That was beginning to be a primary theme of sorts now. Lurtz was apparently a very vicious and dangerous man, but he just couldn't imagine him like that. Of the time he spent here, Lurtz was the kindest he had met. Yes there was the time at the wedding where he had surprised him with his strength, but he wouldn't cower in fear every time Lurtz looked his way.
"Is that why Lurtz's father always treats him like that? Because he can't rank up?" Dragon asked Tahlia after a moment.

He should've gone with another living vampire if he wanted to be sure he could advance in nobility. Why it was his only son and just him that was born an elf, however, I don't quite understand. There was a fifty-fifty chance on all of them and yet he was the only one," Tahlia sighed lightly as she finally stopped brushing her fingers through his hair. Glancing at Dragon, she flashed him a light smile. "He could use some friends who can help him see that life isn't one giant war. And don't worry about the girl, kiddo. She's already forgotten all about him. You won't be losing him to anyone 'cause he has no one because of his father telling him that friends were a waste of time and to only speak when spoken to. Do me the favor of showing him the world outside of the obedience drilled into his head and away from the art of war."
xxxxx"Dad will kill him if he does any of that. He's just supposed to be a bodyguard for the royal family," Elisia argued only to flinch slightly at the glare her mother shot her. "Not if he's broken the chains that bind him. He's a strong boy that just needs a little guidance from someone who is kinder than we are. Then we won't have to worry about having to reset him and putting him through all of this stress." "Right... Good luck, kid. I'm glad I'm only going to be around until he wakes up."

"She... forgot him?" Dragon mumbled. The way Lurtz talked about her, or more his family, he would have thought the feelings were mutual for the girl. Was she actually one of those girls that smiled and talked kindly without actually acting that way? Images of two women appeared in his mind as he thought about that: the girl he had a crush on so long ago and his own mother. Both of them smiled at him and promised him good things before ditching him. That kind of thing, it was unforgivable in his eyes. There was nothing crueler than false hope.
"I'll... I'll try my hardest to help him." Dragon vowed to Tahlia, ignoring Elisia's comments. His still golden eyes went back to the sleeping male. "He'll be asleep for another day or two, right?"

She can tell you how many men she's had try marrying her, but can't tell you any of their names. I'm glad you'll help him to the best of your ability though. You're such a sweet and gentle boy after all," Tahlia hummed in a rather cheerful voice only to lightly place a quick kiss on top of the darker haired boy's head. She wasn't completely horrible, but that didn't mean she actually cared about much. Brushing her fingers through Dragon's hair, she pursed her lips slightly in thought only to ruffle his hair altogether. "Both of you boys need a haircut. I swear women were merely created to go telling the men "you're doing it wrong". I can teach you to sew, work on a vegetable garden and how to make milkshakes from scratch... Oh and probably longer if we let him. I wouldn't let him sleep for longer than a couple of days though. He'll be fine with the regular six-to-eight hours of sleep humans go on and on about after a couple of days of nonstop sleep."
xxxxx"Then I'll teach him how to cut hair along with the hunting and defending himself. Once Lurtz is active again, however, you're going to have to ask him to teach you things," Elisia sighed while closing up the sketchpad in her lap. Finally, she was done with her sketches and could hand them over to professional remodelers. Poking Dragon on the side of his neck with a nail, she flashed a slight smirk. "Don't get so moody about him having been forgotten by an upperclass vampire. Vampires do that. We flirt, we tease, we feed and we forget those of lower class or merely those who don't get the option of living for a long time. We're one of the most vain and selfish creatures besides the succubi and incubi."

Dragon closed one eye when his hair was ruffled. He opened his eye and looked back and forth between the two women, a smile escaping his lips. "I'll do my best to learn every single thing you offer." he said with determination in his fire red eyes. He slowly got back to his feet - wobbling a little from the fast movement shaking his mind - and looked back at Elisia. "What're the succubi and incubi?"

It's not just a rock, but a whole motherflippin' mountain," Elisia almost seemed to groan after having facepalmed. This was like talking to a toddler about photosynthesis. Couldn't she just wake Lurtz up and make him explain it to Dragon? "He's still very young, Elisia. Relax."
xxxxx"Says you," Elisia hissed before tapping her fingertips together. How to explain this to the kid who obviously lived under a rock? How old was he anyways? Fifteen? Sixteen? "Succubi and incubi are demons that are very lustful. They're basically the same species only a succubus is a female and an incubus is a male. Either way, they enjoy playing with people's emotions and making them seem unlike themselves. Over time they steal energy from these other people and sometimes even their soul as that is how they get their nourishment. All of that energy and whatnot is usually traded for sex to which you'll come to understand they have no shame. Modesty isn't part of their vocabulary."
xxxxx"You sure you want to be standing up and moving about right now? You can keep resting if you want," Tahlia hummed sweetly while remaining leaning against the back of the couch. How her son was sleeping through all of the hair brushing, moving and talking, she wasn't sure. She knew he was tired, yes, but his brain never seemed to shut itself off so she didn't get how all of this activity hadn't disturbed his slumber. Was he even dreaming or seeing past memories or even experiencing what the vampire who'd changed him was experiencing? She still didn't get all of the rules of vampires and whether they slept or not.
