Tariq + Louise chose option number 3

Tariq had been about to respond with something suave and sophisticated when they'd been transported. Standing up and brushing the dust off of his suit, he grumbles about how these spots would never come out. "Louise?" he calls curiously. "Are you around?

It'd be such a shame to have been separated so soon after encountering each other. She'd been so lovely and so charismatic! He'd felt a spark between them almost immediately. He sighs, a bit lovesick already.

"Didn't say I wanted to be on Bala Nor...rather not, actually." K'anpo pushed himself up to his hands and knees, then took his friend's offered hand for help to stand. "I just thought the blasted things were isolated there. I really hope we're not there. Though I did think that 'here' was shaping up nicer than 'there', until all this rubbish came about."

Dusting himself off, K'anpo took another look around. Pae everywhere, some splitting off, some milling about. Maybe some of the ones hanging around had some sort of plan. This was more their territory than the two Faunies'. "Capital idea, my friend. We shall keep an eye out for the blasted buggers, and maybe get some grip on what's unfolding here."

"What ho, chaps!" he called cheerily, waving his hand in the air. "Anyone know what sort of bally mess we've landed in?"

"Appears everyone's paired off, old friend. Come to think of it, that attractive filly isn't here. At least that I've spotted." Doctor peered around, observing the chaos. They really were all coupled up, helping each other. No one seemed to be injured or requiring assistance other than the kind some reassurances or sunlight couldn't cure. "Well then. Looks like they're all good. So erm, shall we investigate?"

He started looking in every little dark corner of this spot of the labyrinth, noting in particular that there seemed to be a lot of feathers on the ground. Feathers of all colors actually. "Interesting," he muttered to himself and kept looking.

"K'anpo, come look at this," he found something interesting on the ground that no one else seemed to noticed or if they did, they didn't think it important. He pointed to a few broken chain links that were half pressed into the dirt by a large hoof print. Doctor placed one of his own hooves in the print, noting the size and shape was very different. "What do you think? Boulgar? Heffalump? It's not like these other hooves around here."

"I said so much for a nice, quiet, romantic night huh?" He chuckled as he slowly got up. He brushed off his suit which was ripped in several small places and covered in dirt. He moved over to Nama and took his mate's hand, giving him a little squeeze. "We'll just have to make the most of this...And if anyone tries to touch you I'll break their legs." If there was one thing having a little girl taught Thaddeus was how to be protective. "Lead the way..I can't see anything in the dark."

"Hey, hey, don't be scared," says Elizabeth, turning back to Xanthea and rubbing her arms comfortingly. Somehow having someone to comfort made her feel less afraid. "It was a Halloween thing and I don't remember much of it," she says succinctly. "But I guess it wasn't all bad, I got Sodóka out of it." Suddenly she wishes her lupine companion were here with them. She'd know which way was safe.

"Looks like a bunch of people are going down the paths; if we wait, maybe someone will come back to signal which way leads out," she suggests, beginning to explore the brushy hedges surrounding them.

Fraise nodded as he asked her if she was ok with a sniff. She clung to him like her life depended on it. He was the only one she could rely on at this moment as it was.

She couldn't help but smile as he mentioned a sister. "You have a sister?...I..Don't have anyone..You're lucky." Her grip from him loosened as she took his hand, following after him as he called for his sister. The path they took was at least lit...But what was making that light anyways?

Dysmas shouted, "Woah!" as Silvana pushed him up against the wall. "What's going on?" he whispered to her, wondering what the reason for her actions was. When she got serious, Dysmas took the moment to stop reacting and just watch. The mists had risen and it was so thick that the water angel couldn't even see the girl next to him, he reached his hand out for her to make certain she was still there. Once Dysmas had felt something he lowered his hand with relief. The mist dropped, and the ballroom was almost completely empty. "What... where did everyone go?" He pushed himself off the wall and looked around in a panic. He looked to the teen beside him, she was still there, Dysmas smiled briefly at her. Looking around, there wasn't much of anyone here, he wasn't sure who her mother was... but what if she was one of the ones taken? Dysmas nodded his head, "Yeah ok, I'll help you. What does she look like?" the boy asked, thankful that his family members were all safe at home.

Twizzz frowned as the pudding was transferred from Yipes body to his. Ew, that was kind of gross. He loved sweets... but on his body? There was absolutely nothing to wipe it on either. Great. Before he knew it Yipes was running down the dark path. Twizzz quickly took off after him, not wanting to lose the faun in the dark. He was so relieved when he saw the faun reappear and drag him off. At least with Yipes being... Yipes... it was hard to be afraid right now.

Louise blinked and rubbed her eyes several times. She was certain that what had just happened didn't really happen, and this new place looked so drab. Louise had actually been standing right behind Tariq, since they had been dancing during the fog, they had reappeared right next to each other as well. So she tapped him politely on the shoulder when he called her name, "I'm right here, dear," she smiled. It was so wonderful that the gentleman had been concerned about her. "Hmm, this doesn't seem right at all." Louise told the male, her voice disappointed. She had been enjoying the dancing so much, but now didn't seem the time for it. Louise looked down the lit path, "Perhaps that is the way back to the ball?"

In the shadows, a dark figure watched the Pae'il couples make their decisions and split up, taking either one of the two pathways, or staying where they were to search for anything useful. She grinned to herself, considering the possible fun she could have here.

She didn't have to come along. She could have just continued to feed blissfully off that annoying pink puffball if she'd wanted to. But, when most of the lovers had disappeared, it was enough to shake her out of her blissful haze long enough to consider this new arrival. She hadn't quite figured out this woman's game, but...she liked her style. Best to keep watching to see what she had in mind for these driveling fools. And if she could get in some fun (and feeding) of her own in the process, well...Chrysalis considered it a win-win situation.

Having fed enough at the party already to keep her powers full to bursting for a while, she had found it a simple matter to track onto the magical signature that transported these imbeciles here and follow along unseen. Upon arriving, she shifted to a darker, sleeker form to stay hidden in the shadows and observe. Oh look, familiar faces! She grinned, slitted eyes passing over the pink princess and her shining white knight. Hmm...perhaps round two?

Oh, but so many choices! Still, it would be easier if they'd split up a bit first. Deceptions worked better with smaller groups...a lone pair would be ideal. Laughing silently to herself, she slipped off down a side pathway when no one was looking, set on mapping out the immediate area and preparing for any unwary passers-by...

Round 2
Part 1 (of 3)

PATH 1
RP Prompt for these couples only:
    Twizzz + Yipes
    Leitha + Cadessi
    Namaqua + Thaddeus
    Parvana + Aldis
    Atlantis + Twinkleshine
    Abhisneha + Aiolos
    Lust + Hoity Toity

====================================================

The only thing ahead in the dark is a sharp turn to the east, just after the dim light from where all the couples landed can be seen. There are no significant landmarks, and still no other light source apart from the full moon above. A chilly breeze has made it colder, and the moisture in the air is more evident. After rounding the corner, the couples who took this route encounter a fork with three paths.

Notable items along this path include a few rocks lacking distinguishing characteristics, several stray feathers (white, orange, gold, purple and brown) along the dirt as well as stuck in the hedge. There is also a small bottle with a little plastic wand (the bottle is half-filled with bubble solution), a a silver accented antique perfume bottle with only three drops of perfume left, squished grapes, and a small crocheted bag with three multicolored marbles and a tiny wooden butterfly inside.

4. It was only a glimpse, but if they were paying attention, the couples would have seen a faint glow and flash of a small female figure with large white wings and a golden glow turning the corner down the first path. The image would be gone with a blink. It could be someone reaching out to help the couples, or it could be one of Eris' traps. You decide to investigate.

5. The second path offers dim light at the end, and from where they all stand, the Pae'il will be able to see that there might be a large open area ahead. You decide to go this direction hoping the open area will provide better visibility for determining where you are.

6. To the left of the second path lies the third option. The path is lined with thorns that appear to grow thicker the further down the path they go. This is obviously an attempt by Eris to make you not choose the hard path, right? Or maybe she knows you are that clever. You decide it could be worth ripping your fancy clothes to find a way out.

Round 2
Part 2 (of 3)

PATH 2
RP Prompt for these couples only:
    Elizabeth + Xanthea
    Aquos + Princess Celestia
    Opal + Kane
    Thom + Amadorine
    K'anpo Rimpoche + Doctor Whooves
Shining Armor + Princess Mi Amore Cadenza
    Lillison + Lugh
    Nyx + Bnuet

====================================================

With so many Pae'il rustling around in the hedge, a large group of fireflies swarms out, surrounding all the Pae'il in the area, lighting it up like a spotlight momentarily. They look as scared as you feel. A few of them have decided to stick around and help, providing a light source as you navigate through the labyrinth. Maybe not all creatures were under Eris' control in this labyrinth after all.

However, many have fled, and you watch where they disappear to. A small hole in the hedge behind the group that was previously unnoticeable in the dark. A Pae'il could easily fit through the hole, if they crawled. And the fireflies lit the way. It looks safe.

You and the others decide to follow the fireflies, trusting in their "fight or flight" instinct to seek out safety. You prepare to head down the thin, long tunnel created in the hedge, your fancy party clothes won't survive the journey, but it looks like a promising lead to safety.

The hedge tunnel opens up to a larger area lit up with old fashioned wrought iron lanterns with candles inside. There are worn benches and a small garden full of dead flowers. It looks like it was once a beautiful place to visit, but Eris has twisted it into a horror setting.

Notable items in this dead garden include various rusted and broken garden supplies (none of which have the strength to cut through the hedges), feathers (gold, blue, purple, and yellow) scattered everywhere, 3 clay pots with large scratches on each, and an unknown liquid substance in one of them, which is clearly not water (do you taste it?), there is also a tea tray sitting on the edge of a birdbath, with a warm teapot, 6 cups, and 12 small biscuits, all fresh.

7. You decide to move on, noticing that there is a path heading west, with the same kind of lanterns lighting the way. It looks safe enough.

8. Upon investigating the area, a glint from something half buried under a dead rose bush catches your eye. You decide to dig it up in case it might be something useful (or valuable). (Each couple that chooses this option, please dig in your own area, finding your own item.)

9. This area feels safe. Someone is bound to come find you, right? You decide to stay here (for whatever reason) and let the others go on.

Round 2
Part 3 (of 3)

PATH 3
RP Prompt for these couples only:
    Terran + Moana
    Azure + Brandy
    Mo + Princess Luna
    Louise + Tariq
    Theron + Leilani
    Tocino + Navidad
    Fraise + Zoran

====================================================

As you get closer to the source of the light, you notice that there is a small box just hovering a couple feet off the ground, with a spotlight shining on it. It's almost impossible to see the source of the spotlight through the fog, but the air is clear around the box. It's very enticing considering the latch is open, as if someone wanted you to find and open this box.

The only notable items in this area are two feathers, a semi-transparent pink feather directly under the floating box, and a teal one a few feet away, stuck in the hedge. There is also a red silk scarf that looks like it snagged on a branch as you approach the box.

10. You decide it's a trap and decide to move on. There's a path to the north, dimly lit with no signs of danger along the way. That looks like the safest route.

11. What the hell, open the box!

12. You also decide it's a trap, but you want to try the path heading south, because you just feel it in your gut that is the right direction. That and knowing Eris as the Goddess of Discord (and Chaos), she'd likely light up the path she wants everyone to follow. You are clever and decide to head down the dark and dank path.

Elizabeth + Xanthea chose option number 8

After crawling through the thin tunnel and emerging into the garden patio, Elizabeth's dress is in tatters. The delicate fabric had been shredded by the hedges and crawling on the ground. So much for Amapola's hard work. "Sod it," she says, and takes it off, tossing it aside. It'd only get in the way anyway. She offers a hand to Xanthea to help her up, who'd been right behind her. "Might as well lose your dress too," she says with an apologetic shrug. Xanthea's dress didn't look like it'd fared much better than her own.

Elizabeth takes a moment to look around the "garden". "It'd be beautiful, all lit up with candles and fireflies like this, if it weren't all...dead." She looks to Xanthea. "Might as well look around for something useful." The first thing she notices are the pots with slashes. One's filled with liquid, which she smells and dips a finger into, but upon confirming that it's not rainwater, she shakes her head. "I wouldn't get involved with that if I were you," she advises.

Several soft movements catch her eye, and she realizes there are feathers everywhere. "Wonder what these came from," she says, picking up a gold one that had just blown across her foot. "Well, even if our dresses are ruined, we can still be fancy." She tucks the feather behind her ear. It glitters beautifully against her dark hair.

As she looks around for a feather to put in Xanthea's hair, a different sort of glint shines from underneath a rosebush. "Hey Xan, c'mere," she says, walking over to it. "Looks like someone's buried something here. Maybe it'll be useful to getting us out of here." She doesn't use tools, just scoops away the loose dirt from the buried object.

Amadorine + Thom chose option number 7

Amadorine smiled to Thom and nodded. "Yes, we should certainly see what we can find here." There was something about the other options that made her uneasy, and she knew to trust her gut. When the fireflies swarmed up into the air and the area lit up, she quickly used that time to survey on who had stayed here with the group, recognize several of those left to be faunies. Turning her attention back to the fireflies, she watched as many of them escaped through the hole in the hedges.

"Thom, c'mon, we should go after them." She glanced at him and grimaced. "Our clothes aren't going to be in the best condition after this." And sure enough, a few minutes later with them both through, there were scrapes and scratches up and down the Pathfinder's limbs... not that she really minded them.

Upon seeing the amazing, yet antique-looking garden set up, Amadorine couldn't help but shiver at its haunted feel; everything was dead, even the buds. No, no she did not want to stay here, not at all. "We need to go..." She whispered softly to Thom, her eyes resting on the feather, food, and pots. "We need to go now...." Everything in her body screamed that things shouldn't be trusted.

Thaddeus + Namaqua chose option number 6

Namaqua draws Thaddeus closer to his body as the air grows colder. The dark path had led them to an even darker area, but Nama can see fairly well anyway. A glint catches his eye, and he bends to pick up a glittering gold feather. "I wonder what sort of bird has golden feathers like this," he muses, holding it up for Thaddeus to look at too.

He shivers a little. Should keep moving. His sharp eyes catch a glimpse of a feminine figure down one path, and he frowns. The appealing path was usually the path to danger. Glowing maiden path, or thorny path? Definitely thorny path. "I think we should go this way," he says, tugging Thaddeus down the path with the briars. "It'll tear our clothes, I think, but we should be okay physically." He nods. "Maybe a couple scratches, but nothing serious." He smiles encouragingly.

As they begin to head down the path, Namaqua feels something squish between his hooves. Grapes. He picks them up by the stem. "What a waste," he says, clucking disapprovingly and holding onto them. He'd fish the seeds out when they found their way out of here and plant them once they got home.

He noticed the others who were still there with them, he noticed the newest race of pae, he really didn't know any of them nor truly anything about their race, he'd not yet taken the time to meet them.

Her words distracted him from his gaze and he turned to see what she was looking at. "Through there?" Thom questioned his eyes following her and the fireflies, he stopped at the edge of the hole and looked into it, she was right it was definitely going to ruin his suit. He stuck his hand in his pocket making sure it's contents were securely nestled into the depths of it. Then with a sigh and a deep breath he followed Ama into the hole.

The rainbowy male crawled out behind her and looked over her shoulder, his eyes lit upon each side of the garden. "Wow, this is truly creepy... Where are we, this is not the normal scenery I'm used to on Telrunya" he couldn't help but agree with his lady's feeling of getting out of there.

[Twinkleshine sighed, too tired to argue against rest, and joining him on the ground. She leaned against him; the cold air was becoming more humid, and the frigidity was creating puffs of smoke on her breath. As she looked to the sky, the clouds moved, allowing the silky silver rays to lightly illuminate the ground around them.]

She didn't see any others, but there were so many things scattered about, so many colored feathers. Had these come from the winged children of Venus? A chill crept up her spine as she reached for one, brown in color, and stared at it for a while. None of those had brown wings, did they? And among them she saw a small bottle with a wand inside. Every game needs a magical girl, isn't that right? This game, it'd be her. She reached for it, picking it up and holding it closer to her nose to look at. Pretty....~

Looking around again, she noticed that three paths had appeared, all within the immediate vicinity of their location. Was this a trick of the purple one? There was no real possibility of them just happening upon a fork like this, only noticed when some light is shed. How strange... Turning to look at Atlantis, she motioned towards them. "What do you think? Is this the next phase of the game?"
