Fire works.

They brought a smile to the monks lips as Roland sat cross-legged in the shade of the pillars off to the side of everyone else. For whatever reason he had chosen to be apart for most of the gathering, watching the King laugh, Riley escorted about. It was peaceful, it was proper. It almost made the idea of what was to come less troubling, as if they hadn't just been told they would be fighting to the death.

At least, they where happy till the voice spoke again.

But it wasn't the King alone, it was all of them, they all heard the challenge and the offer. At once he was on his feet, robes flickering about him as he moved towards the king. Orders where being given out and he only paused for a moment to bow his head to her.

"I will go to the tower at once my King." Stepping backwards he quickly turned about and moved off through the confused crowd of onlookers seeming to fade away like the mist he so cherished.

The fireworks had been a nice touch, he supposed, giving them a moment of relaxation before this all began. But the moment was swift and fleeting as such moments always tended to be, the world melting into nothingness around them.
As soon as the world returned, Rosciel frowned in thought. The Silver kingdom was gone, its refugees no doubt spread across the other kingdoms. Having that happen to his own kingdom, his home was unacceptable.

As soon as his king said his name, Rosciel left with a nod of acceptance, first heading to home to quickly gather what supplies he might need and then on towards the Labyrinth.

West inhaled sharply when he heard it, all of his former emotion swiftly draining away in favor of a kind of stunned anticipation. He couldn't remember having ever heard The Voice before this moment, although he was still somehow certain he must have. It felt so familiar, more familiar than his own skin. Perhaps this was why he had been so curious about Riley and her secrets. Even if she only possessed a small fraction of this power in the form of her mindspeech, he wanted to know as much of it as he could.

Time dragged as the king and her advisors chose where the dreamers would be of the most use, and West tried to occupy himself by gathering up what remained of his pyrotechnic show. If they all survived this, at least they'd come back to a tidy garden.

When his name was called, the young man only paused long enough to take a deep breath before he was gone.

His eyes narrowed, his attention immediately turning to the voice as it broke into whatever conversation he may have continued with Gene. The tip of his lashed as he gave an angry growl.

The voice, so it did exist, or rather, something behind it existed. Who or what truly spoke to and controlled them he did not know, but he did not like nor trust it. The idea that they were all being used as pawns in some game angered him. How many would perish from this day solely for its amusement? Where they all to be simply wiped away as the silver kingdom and its citizens had been? Disgusting.

He would not allow the voice to win, it would not be his kingdom that fell or those he loved that perished.

And then there was silence, and all that remained were his thoughts, the lash of his tail waning and waxing as he dwelt on each thought, searching for the answers in his own knowledge. It was only when the king spoke that he allowed those thoughts to fade for the time being.

"As you wish."

A snort and a bow to his king, Sheridan lifted his glaive over his shoulder, turned, and took his path toward the tower.

Than had been a touch overwhelmed by it all. Swept up in the moment of his arrival to this new kingdom, a kingdom that, it seemed, would soon be his own through sheer lack of necessity. As the fireworks began, his good eye widened, whuffling softly in awed wonder. This...was beautiful...it seemed the passing of an age, and the beginning of a new one, and whether good or ill lay ahead....well it seemed mixed. The young man's experiences in the company of his new comrades just now seemed to brighten his outlook, and a shy smile slowly began to formulate at their antics. "Yesly, Than feels better."

Then the music began, and no matter its tempo, it seemed to roll out like a march, as though something were approaching, ponderous and unavoidable...and then the Voice rang out, and that terrible dread was made manifest. Than clutched his bruised hands to his chest, the subtle throb of them a comfort...the tiny youth growing pale and silent. He withdrew even further, caught in a maelstrom of emotion, as the gentle Queen spoke of sending them out...and for him, she had chosen the tower. "Than is scared..." a whisper, as Damien withdrew from him, but it was already too late, and the pup was gone.

"NO! NO!" There was a terrible burst of panic, the terror of being left behind in a place that might fall, that sickening, nauseating sense of becoming helpless. "Than will help!" He cried after those he was already calling his friend, a thrumming of passionate emotion towards the people who had been naught but kind to him on this, most terrible of days.

He did not want to go.

But he would for their sakes, and for his own...anything not to feel as though life itself had been snatched from these useless hands.

Blues followed his friend that moved away from him towards a few 'locals' it would seem. Spinar looked around for a little more excitement than tea since Rosy was close he didn't have to worry about losing her anytime soon or so he thought. A step was taken then paused and his foot put back to the ground as a blast of music started up for a moment he was considering this to be part of the red kingdoms celebration but then things started to go and he knew this wasn't the case at all.

The Voice.

The Voice was talking to him, them? Glancing around much like the King it was easy to make out that it wasn't just him hearing. Listening carefully he bristled slightly at the warning of serving the King or else. Serving the King, Spinar wasn't to keen on the idea but well it was much better than death. A sigh escaped his lips and he moved a hand up to bush through his silver locks. With a quick look to Rosy to catch and read her features he turned his attention back to the King.

The speech that was delivered to them was simple and to the point he snorted to himself but then again that was how he liked it besides there wasn't much to say as he knew there wasn't really a choice. Glancing to his hands he curled his fingers into his palms for a moment of reality. War. Well at least he was able to do something different besides going to market. A bitter laugh sounded when the King came back with assignments. "Valley.." The desolate lands, corrupted by tainted Miasma, certainly exciting. Looking up about the time Rosy approached he grinned slyly and gave his friend a wink, "I'll do my best then..." A chuckled sounded and he nodded to the other silvers before making his way to the correct portal.

Clyde returned to the Red Kingdom, feeling somewhat pleased with himself. However, the place seemed a little lonely as everyone else is still away on their respective missions….Welp, more food for him. O H O

Jayden had remained silent for a while. Listening carefully to "the voice" and to his king's orders.

He closed his eyes for a second making sure to let it all sink in, before he would give a slight nod. "As you wish my king.." he spoke to assure the king that he understood, before heading to the valley. He was a hard worker, so when he was asked to do something he would get busy without a single complaint.

Quote:
A silent young man, he was a young tailor, and a hard working one at that. Dressed quite colorfully, he mite appear to be quite silly or not very serious, but the truth was quite the opposite. He was very serious and always silent, doing what he was told without a complaint. He was very hard working and determined. He wouldn't let anything bother him, he always would stay focused on the task at hand.

Mot heaved a relieved sigh as he returned to his own Kingdom, away from falling columns and toppling towers. He'd done his part. Now, he just had to wait.

He cast a friendly wave to a fellow returnee who seemed to be standing by.

And just like that, he was gone.

Everyone was, after the Voice had spoken. To her, the Voice seemed nothing more than an old friend whispering in her ear - but she'd never heard it before this moment. It was simply familiarity over the type of speech, that rang with her. Still, as she watched everyone surge out to protect the King, Riley hesitated. This was the moment. She looked down at her feet - shoes, with Terra's help. The change had already begun.

She took her first steps forward, but often looked back. She was not that strong.

Now back in the Red Kingdom he took in a deep inhale pleased when the delicious scent of tea and celebration filled his lungs and not the smell of various unknown odors like in the Valley. It was good to be back. Noticing a few others had arrived back as well he gave a nodded grin of acknowledgement to any of those that cared to notice him before taking up a seat in the garden to catch his breath. For now all there was to do was wait and that's what he would do. Even if he was one of the few first to return Spinar felt that he had done his own part as well given he wasn't exactly part of this kingdom, yet.

Everything happened so quickly. Evan had just gotten his bearings than the King herself had appeared, welcoming him and his fellow refugees. Trumpets sounded as he opened his mouth to blindly pledge his allegiance to this foreign kingdom, overwhelming his senses and stunning him into silence. His heart fell as the Voice laid out its ultimatum. No sooner had he gotten to this new land than he was tasked to fight for its survival.

Such was life, Evan had learned. He squared his shoulders as the King gave her orders, taking one last look around before turning and heading towards the Valley.

The youngest stone lion came in with a box over her head. "My King! My King!!" Terra yelled--only to flush as she realized how loud she was. And even brighter red as she realized the queen wasn't there. "Oh, um--"

She had a box. There was no one there to open it for her. It was going to DRIVE HER CRAZY! She brought it down and stared at it. She shook it. She gnawed on the edges of it. "Why. Won't. You. Open??" she demanded.

Then she saw the man eating all the food. And stared.

Clyde nodded at the Qilin while his mouth was still jammed full of food. Turning back to his food, the stone lion suddenly shuddered. He could have sworn someone was just staring at him...
