Their aegis was endogenous, the ability to see the darkness-- it coursed through their veins, pulsing, unyielding.

With every arrival into the dungeon, Mimsy gained experience. She gained the upper hand, and she'd be victorious at some point, whether or not the dungeon wanted her to. Eventually, she'd make the rules.
This time her coat was tied around her waist, Svensyl already summoned to meet the shadow that emerged.

This dungeon was some sort of metaphorical journey, she'd decided, waiting for her pendant to bring her back here.

But here they were, together. Mimsy beside him regardless of how awful ti was.
Because the friendship we've wrought is stronger than any other I have ever had.

Every shadow they defeated, every maze they navigated, every trap they managed to pass, they left bits and pieces of themselves there.
