I read Spider-men, which was a bit interesting. It was mostly a gimmick to try and pull in people who liked the main universe into the Ultimate one, but a decently done gimmick. Still wasn't enough to get me interested in buying those books. All I ever cared about in the Ultimate stories was the Peter Parker/ Kitty Pryde relationship in that universe because I have an unhealthy obsession with Kitty. ...I have yet to finish reading the last X-Force run, but I'm nearly finished and I've quite liked it. I can't say I'm well versed in any other X-Force runs, but I liked seeing them taking Angel and Apocalypse the way they did. The ending with Deadpool, which I have seen, was fantastic I thought. You still get the bat-s**t crazy Wilson as always, but they actually gave him some emotional depth for once instead of being the cooky cartoon character. /wall of text Also, found this thread on reddit about writing dialogue which I thought was interesting: http://www.reddit.com/r/writing/comments/160n20/how_to_make_meaningfulgood_conversation/c7rla7a

Uncanny X-Force was not badly written by any means, but the plots just never really stood out for me, and in general there were just too many things that I did not like, mostly in the characterization department. Psylocke has never been more utterly boring than she was in Uncanny X-Force, and while he lasted Fantomex was nothing short of a Mary Sue(this did not necessarily start in UXF, since he's been a Mary Sue for a while, but UXF did nothing to deter this) to the level of Kira "Jesus" Yamato, and AoA Nightcrawler did absolutely nothing for me. Overall the plots were just huge disappointments, but I'm most disappointed because I am a pretty big fan of Rick Remender, and to me this was just a dark spot on his resume otherwise filled with near flawless titles(I highly recommend his runs on Fear Agent and his Punisher titles to anyone).
And yeah, Wanderer, that would be because in sharp contrast to Daniel Way, Rick Remender actually knows how to write Deadpool

While I don't not wanna play Deadpool, I'm a bit worried. The game looks cool I guess, but it doesn't really look like anything too special or anything beyond an average third person shooter really. And while High Moon Studios has done a fantastic job with Transformers, aside from that abysmal movie-based game, it's still gonna be a licensed game by Activision, which are almost universally bad, especially when it's a shooter. Moreover, it's a Marvel game(which are, again, almost universally bad), and the last time I was excited about a Marvel game they dropped X-Men: Destiny on me, and that was easily one of the worst X-Men games I've ever played. There's also the fact that the whole thing just seemed super rushed, even for Activision. But the part that worries me more than anything? The whole thing is being written by Daniel "I like to completely ruin beloved characters and series beyond recognition" Way, and that pretty much destroys any hope that this will be a memorable game for me.
Eh, hope for the best, but expect the worst, I always say.
I just really really really reeeeeeeeeeeeally wish Daniel Way and Activision would just go away. >.>

I can name only two Marvel games that IMO have been good. Those are Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. With Radical Entertainment at the helm they managed to release a successful and fun Hulk game. And Marvel: Ultimate Alliance was just what I wanted: a superhero RPG where I could swing around as Spider-Man and web people in the goddamn face while Wolverine clawed the s**t out of people and Iron Man launched missiles in the distance. That being said, those are the ones I think are good.

I've played plenty of Marvel games that were good, there just aren't many of them in this or the last generation.
Off the top of my head the ones I can think of are: X-Men Legends I and II (both of which are precursors to Marvel Ultimate Alliance, which borrowed the engine from these games, and they are excellent games in their own right; I personally prefer the first one's story over the second one, but the second one damn near perfected the gameplay, so I love them equally) X-Men Origins: Wolverine (As terrible as the movie was, this game was just damn fun) Marvel Ultimate Alliance (the second one was a huge step back quality-wise) Capcom's Marvel fighting games (this includes the Marvel vs. Capcom series, though MvC3 and UMvC3 were disappointments compared to MvC2, though they were by no means bad) Konami's X-Men arcade beat 'em up The Punisher arcade beat 'em up from Capcom(my favorite game of this genre ever) Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man 2 Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (IMO, this is the superhero game that every open world superhero game needs to strive to be)
Moreover, games like The Punisher(the shooter from 2005, which was made by Saints Row developers Volition) and Captain America: Super Soldier were at least decent, and certainly enjoyable if it weren't for a few glaring hiccups(most notably Captan America's brevity and reliance on quick time events).

...i like the new baman 52 crying (friend let me borrow a stash of the comics. i was able to read batman/nightwing all the way to the beginning of the joker. now i wanna read catwoman/batgirl/batman and robin(got up to around the league of owls)
@order the comic i haven't read but ultimate spider man from disney? i feel like its dumbed down. when i watched them go into a 20 sec explanation on the spider-sense i went stare on the other hand i only saw the pilot and the thor episode so i can't 100 percent judge. maybe it'll get better.
spectacular spider man on the other hand was up there with the animated series and was good as hell. ended on a big a** cliff hanger, and they introduced kletus for a small second...and then it got discontinued sad
@fallen ultimate destruction was the s**t and marvel ultimate alliance is beast. have that bad boy on mah 360 smile and yeah@ lindsay number 2 was a step back. i still wanna play x men legends 1 and 2. got stuck on both early in the game:/
but another spider man game i liked besides 1/2 for playstation and spider man 2 for ps2 was web of shadows. The voice acting was meh but that gameplay was too sick. switching between suits, launching web blasts mid fall, breakdancing on the walls(yes there is an attack like that, works good too lol), etc.
@Selena...to answer your question yes i was a bit scrooge-ish for xmas lol(a bit late ikno. didn't really have much spirit as i thought i would have but still had a cool time with family.

The Bat family books are some of the few New 52 books to still be worthwhile(along with that I'd say Frankenstein, Demon Knights, and I, Vampire were pretty good). Although Catwoman was hit and miss for me, and as good as the current Batgirl book is, I'm still not over the fact that they gave Barbara her legs back, since to me she was always more interesting as Oracle than as Batgirl.
Ultimate Spider-Man just doesn't feel like a Spider-Man show to me. It feels like Family Guy if it was aimed at 6 year olds(although an argument can be made that Family Guy is aimed at six year olds in the last couple of seasons, and I'd be inclined to agree wholeheartedly). To me Spectacular Spider-Man is the best Spider-Man cartoon ever made, with Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends in close second. I personally never liked the 90s Spider-Man cartoon, but I can see why others would like it, especially for nostalgia's sake.

I had Ultimate Spider-man for gamecube, but I can't remember whether I liked it because it was good or because you could just free roam web-swing around New York like a boss.
Spectacular Spiderman is definitely my favorite spider-man cartoon ever. Galloway's character design alone is just so perfect it makes me want to cry.
And the only new 52 title I've really kept up on is Aquaman because no matter what family guy says he's cool.

Aquaman is ******** awesome; anyone who's ever picked up a comic with him in it knows this(the guy kicked Namor's a** for ******** sake). Family Guy and other shows like that only ever make fun of the Super Friends version.

Seriously, the first issue of New 52 aquaman is one of the few DC comics I actually own that aren't hardcover volumes or whatever. So perfect.
AND New 3D rendered Pokemon Game in a new region (that seems europe based) WOO
