Jaromila felt his nuzzle and knew it was his way of telling her he was alright. She looked thoughtful, trying to think of how they could call them, since he would need to be able to tell the difference.
"What if you use a different form of mother for each one of them, Haides. Like call one Mom and one Mama. Or maybe you could call Serenity Mama S,"Jaromila suggested some possibilities.

"... That could work." A little embarrassed, Haides added, "I already call Serenity 'Fairy Godmother'." It was just how he pictured her. "It's just that... when someone asks me about my mother, I don't know which one to mention."

Jaromila thought about that for a minute, trying to think of what to tell him.
"I think they usually are referring to Serenity when they talk about your mom, Haides. Most people do not know your birth mother, so they will usually consider you Serenity's son. Which, in fact, you are, just did not come from her womb,"Jaromila spoke.

"Guess so..." Haides sighed, closing his eyes. "... Thank you." He hesitated before lightly resting his head against hers. "Talking to you... it helps."

Jaromila nuzzled his head gently and smiled softly, glad she was able to help.
"You are welcome, I am glad I am helping you feel better, Haides. You are actually showing me more of the world yourself, things I have never really seen myself or understood completely,"Jaromila admitted.

Haides didn't smile, but seemed serene. She was... really something. "Likewise. You help me understand things that I don't comprehend... and help me learn things about myself."

Jaromila thought it was really nice to have someone who seemed to connect so well with her.
"You know, it is strange to think we just met yesterday and already act like we have known each other a long time. It is almost like we have known each other since we were blankets,"Jaromila spoke.

"Yeah..." Haides thought for a few moments, then spoke. "Maybe that's what Beta meant by you two being different types of best friends. Beta and I are close because of our history. But with us... we just... clicked. In just two days, we've learned so much about each other that it's as if we'd been together as long as... or maybe longer than everyone else."
"Soul mates," Beta interjected quietly, though her voice still made Haides stiffen. "You and I are best friends. You and Mila are soul mates."
Haides blushed, and muttered, "I knew you'd find a strange term to call us."
"Uh-huh... that's 'cause we're best friends..."

Jaromila nodded to Haides's words, thinking that was exactly how she was feeling. It felt like they had known each other a long time, even if it had only been a couple days. When Beta spoke, she nearly jumped, then she blushed lightly.
"Well, it is not a bad term actually. It does seem like we are soul mates, does it not?"Jaromila asked.

"Y-yeah but..."
"It's embarrassing for me to say it. But it's ok, 'cause you know it, and Mila knows it, and nobody else is here." Although Haides didn't say anything after that, Beta spoke as if responding to him. "I won't say it tomorrow! That would be awkward, even for me. Everyone would give me funny looks!"
Haides nodded, closing his eyes.
"If you're tired, then go to sleep, silly." Beta had a long pause before continuing. "...You can talk when you wake up!"
Haides just huffed and opened his eyes again. He didn't want to fall asleep...

"Yes, that word will stay between us for the time being, until we tell our parents or they figure it out themselves. If you need to sleep, it might be a good idea to do so, Haides,"Jaromila spoke.

"Don't wanna," Haides grumbled, leaning into Jaromila as his eyes slid closed again.
"She'll be here when you wake up, so go to sleep, Mr. Stubborn Colt."
Haides mumbled something else, but it wasn't audible enough to understand. He could feel himself drifting off, despite his desire to stay conscious.

Jaromila watched him starting to fall asleep, guessing he was too tired to fight it anymore. She would have covered him with a blanket, but she didn't have one.
"Poor thing, he was really afraid I would be gone when he woke back up. I suppose he must expect that kind of thing, though he really should trust more,"Jaromila whispered.

"He lost his brothers and sisters like that," Beta said quietly. "When he fell asleep, they were all there, but when he woke up..." She yawned, resting her head on the soft grass as she continued. "But that means you're really special to him. He wouldn't worry if he didn't care."

Jaromila looked over to him and knew Beta was right, he must really care about her.
"Yes, and I will do everything in my power to get him to be a bit more trusting. No one should have to live like that, worrying that the people they care about will disappear on them,"Jaromila said sadly.
