Chad gritted his teeth as his Nincada was picked up with a psychic power and there was nothing he could do. What was worse was that the woman was calling him a barbarian for wanting to battle.
After Nincada was slammed into the ground, Chad watched as it struggled to its feet. “Leech Life on Elygem!” Chad pointed to the Elygem, to which Nincada launched itself with bared fangs ready to sap the life that it had just healed through the use of its technique recover.

Serah adjusted her glasses and was practically drooling as the Snivy evolved into Servine. She wasn’t even aware that the Nincada had managed to beat her Elygem into it was swinging its arms around. “Oh no! Elygem!” Serah watched as the tornado of leaves came in towards the Elygem. “Use Light Screen!” Although it wouldn’t be able to nullify the damage from the Leaf Tornado, it could be greatly reduced.

The light screen formed around Porygon and Elygem and once it did, the tornado of leaves bombarded Elygem, causing it to fall over. “The combination of Light Screen and Calm Mind is a force to be reckoned with in terms of special Defense. I do believe it is because my Pokémon seek vengeance for the comrades they lost to the minds of both of you.” Serah pointed to the Nincada and shouted a command to Porygon, “Use your Tri-Attack!” Porygon launched a beam from its mouth that was a combination of light blue, yellow, and red colors all aimed at the Nincada.
“Elygem, use your Shadow Ball on that Servine!” Elygem launched a sphere made of a dark purple color at the Servine.

Chad watched as his Nincada managed to get a pretty decent amount of HP from the Elygem before it realized and pushed him off. “It’s using Light Screen.” Chad knew that Nincada could get past the light screen since most of its attacks were physically based.
After being commanded, Nincada barely side-stepped the beam of different colors coming towards it before being commanded to do something else by Chad. “Use Leech Life again on Elygem!” Chad watched, a bit concerned for his Pokémon since using the same move twice in a row could be risky.

Elygem was bitten by yet another Leech life, probably restoring that darn Nincada to full health in the process. “Not good!” Serah adjusted her frames and was a bit cluttered with idea before she realized it was a bit too late to perform a technique since Porygon was now glared and Elygem was being wrapped by that pesky Servine. “Elygem, Use Calm Mind and Porygon, aim at the Servine wrapped around Elygem and use Ice Beam!”
According to her calculations, Elygem’s special defense was increased dramatically so even it was hit with Ice Beam, it’d still be okay enough to pull off another recover before it was attacked again, and if by chance Porygon’s Ice Beam did hit, then that would mean that Servine would be facing a nasty Ice Attack.

Porygon charged for Ice Beam, but it took a lot longer than usual since its paralysis was taking over its body. Ultimately, it did launch it though in a beam of light blue light towards the Servine constricting Elygem.

Chad watched as Servine took the hit, a bit worried that things might not be going the way he had hoped for since Servine was fast, but some techniques were just faster. “It’s that technique Recover. It would’ve been knocked out by now, but-“ Chad shrugged and decided to turn his attention to Porygon for the time being. “Nincada, use Metal Claw!” Nincada’s claw turned into a metallic color, and once it did, it launched itself at the Porygon with the hopes of delivering a powerful steel-based attack.

Serah sighed as the Servine’s tail was frozen. It had been getting the most of the heat from Serah’s attacks, but that was only because she figured it was the tougher of the two, well, of Nincada and Servine. “You all are behaving as animals, trying to team up to take down an opponent, that’s called bullying.” Serah quickly made her Porygon use protect to shield off the metal claw before evaluating what she should do now.
Her Elygem was unable to block the attack, for the Servine uncoiled, it deliver an attack with its tail, causing the Elygem to faint before it could use recover. “Oh no! Elygem, your defeat will not be in vein!” Serah held up a pokeball and withdrew her Elygem before sending out another Pokémon, a Hoothoot.
The Hoothoot was instantly ready to take any commands given. “Hoothoot, I need you to use Air Slash on the Servine, and Porygon, you use Ice Beam on the Nincada!”
Hoothoot swung its small wing in the air and a force of wind raced forwards towards the Servine. Porygon launched a beam of light blue light directly in front of it, hoping to hit the Nincada with a powerful force.

Chad watched with slight relief that only turned to worry when he saw what the next Pokémon Serah used was. It was a Hoothoot, a flying type. Most moves that Nincada used won’t end up working if that’s the case. “Alright then, we’ll go after Porygon. Nincada can’t do much against Hoothoot.” Chad pointed to the Porygon who was launching a string of ice towards Nincada. “Dig underground to dodge the attack, and then use dig on Porygon!”
Nincada didn’t have time to nod in understanding before it was already underground and the string of ice was blasting where it once stood. It quickly traveled underneath the ground and was just about to attack when suddenly Nincada resurfaced, eager to cause some damage.

Serah adjusted her glasses as she thought about her next plan of attack. It appeared as though they were throwing all their attacks at Porygon, meaning that Hoothoot had an opening to attack again, and since the Light Screen was still in effect, Serah didn’t worry too much about the Leaf Tornado and Magical Leaf. “Hoothoot use Reflect!” Hoothoot hooted and a veil made a different material coated itself around Porygon and Hoothoot. “Porygon, use protect to block the Nincada’s attack.” Porygon created an invisible layer that blocked the oncoming attack from Nincada just as it jumped out of the ground.
Just as it protected itself from the skill though, it endured a couple blows made by the Servine. “Now use Recover Porygon!” Porygon’s body began to glow a faint hue, healing itself during the process. “Now Hoothoot, finish up the Servine with Air Slash once more!” Hoothoot swung its small wing once more into the air, hoping to land a final blow on the Servine making it one out on both sides of the field.

Chad had to think quickly about what to do now. Since the technique he just used was ineffective, Chad paused for a moment and thought about what he was going to do. Ultimately, he decided to perform a much accurate attack. “Alright, use Aerial Ace Nincada!” Nincada threw itself at Porygon as it recovered, hoping to strike it with a powerful attack.
