The waitress looked at the picture on the ID card, then at him, then back. "Uh huh... Yeah right, Ahmed al Makhabar. I'll get you a water instead."
The waitress set the ID card down on the table, which had a picture on it of an arab man with a full beard and turban, looking nothing like Morimo. Afro-sama laughed again, patting the table.
"Descriptions are very important. You can't just make a simple action, like handing a waitress a fake ID card, without narrating what the card actually has on it. Otherwise, it could be anything, and you would be powerless against it because you failed to depict it beforehand."

"Hot sauce? Yeesh. You can keep all of that."
Unsure of if his new student actually understood his first lesson, Afro-sama moved on. He pulled a thick, leatherbound journal out of his jacket and set it on the table, pushing it over to him. Inside the journal would be a pen.
"For your next lesson, I want you to write what your surroundings look like. Be as descriptive as possible."

Afro-sama reads over the text, rubbing his chin in thought. After a moment or two, he states, "Well, it's a start, but I've seen worse."
He closed the journal and slid it back over to him. "Keep this journal. Wherever you go, I want you to describe your surroundings. Think of it as practice. Surroundings are another important factor, because it's important to know what is all around you, to you and to those who are travelling with you. Do you understand?"

A thin bamboo rod slides out of the right sleeve of Afro-sama's jacket, sliding into his hand, which would then thwap Morimo over the top of his head very sharpy. "Watch your tone with me, student. This is the easy way of learning, but if you'd prefer the hard way, I can oblige you."
The waitress returned with their drinks, handing Afro-sama his coffee, and Morimo a glass of water, giving him a smile.

Afro-sama's eyebrows knit close together. Thankfully, he still had his glasses on. He took the napkins from Moriko's hand, slapping it away and wiping his face off himself, then his glasses. "Don't worry about it. For now, focus on your lessons, because soon you are about to undertake the one thing that every roleplayer must undertake in order to become a better character."
He paused for dramatic suspense, then said, "Your first quest!"

Afro-sama thanked the waitress, and she walked off to take other people's orders. He sipped his coffee, sighing contently, then set it off to the side, looking Morimo in the eye.
"Failure is not an option. You will succeed, no matter how long or how hard you have to try. Your quest, and you have no choice but to accept it, is to travel to Durem. In Durem, you will find a salon, and in that salon is a hairpick. It is not just any hairpick, though. It is a magical hairpick. It is located in a vault underneath the Salon, guarded by gods know what kind of monsters and the like, for this is a one-of-a-kind hairpick, which Vanessa neither sells nor intends to sell. Retrieve this hairpick for me, and I will take you on as a full student.
You will not be alone in this quest. There will be others who will aid you, but you must meet them and befriend them first. For this, you must have confidence in yourself, and your abilities. It is guaranteed that there will be some kind of guardian protecting the hairpick, so you will need all the help you can get. Take my rod," and Afro-sama set the bamboo rod he had earlier thwapped him on the head with, "It will help serve you on this quest. No matter how hard you strike with it, or how hard it is struck, it will never break. Return to me only once you have the hairpick in your possession."

He sighed again, but conceded. It was a simple request, afterall. "Very well. Do what you must then, and when you are ready, go. I will be waiting here for your return. For now, you are dismissed."
