Miyuki opened her mouth and the closed her. She thought about it for a moment.
"I suppose I could sent some time aside between lessons...."
But it was clear she wasn't really convinced. For the first time in her life Miyuki had full control over her own lesson plans, and she had already planned it out. She wanted to get her penmanship skills good enough to fully study the art of runes, she had magic lessons and she wanted to show to Alessea how grown up she was and improve on her fighting skills by herself. There was also the idea of perfecting her magic sensing so she could tell people apart and now training her new pet.
Honestly there Arda may have more hours in a day but there was never enough hours in a day. There were things she just wanted to try.
"But how would I meet people?"
She had already been to all the major shops, she liked looking in them to note how styles differed from country to country. Sure, she supposed she could go into the market, she hadn't quite seen what sort of food and spices were often used compared to say the Eastland (they were two different deserts after all).

Daeron shrugged. "To be honest, I haven't been around here enough to really say. But maybe, instead of going only to shops when you have business there, just go around and see who you run into. There's nothing lost in trying. And if you don't want to go by yourself, then even just going to the city with different people - like you are now, going with Iorlas and myself - will bring you to different places, with different perspectives. Your parents always have so much to do that they can't just dawdle anywhere. We on the other hand have been here for quite a while, so we can stop wherever we feel like it."
He smiled at Miyuki. "Tell you what. If you see anything that you'd like to stop and take a closer look at, or see anyone you'd like to talk to, you just say so and we'll do it. We're not on a schedule, other than letting Claress know as soon as possible about your growth so that she and her husband don't have to waste time making smaller shoes for you. We can take as much time as you want. Think of this as your time. We're just here to help you along."

She nodded at what he was saying. It did make sense, she was on her own time now. Really she didn't feel the need to do what her uncle was suggesting but she was willing to give it a try.
"Okay, I'm not quite sure what I'm doing, but okay..."
She did like looking at things so it wasn't hard to perhaps stop and look at a few things after she got her feet measured again.

Iorlas giggled softly and took Miyuki's arm. "Don't let him overwhelm you," she murmured reassuringly. "He's very good at doing that to people. Just relax and do what you feel like doing."
She grinned at Daeron, her eyes sparkling brightly, and Daeron gave her an exasperated look.

Miyuki giggled in turn at the look on her uncle's face. He certainly seemed exasperated.
"Let's go to the cobber's first and get that out of the way then."
Since at least for that she knew what she was doing.

"Right. Off we go, then."
Daeron seemed a bit put out that Iorlas was taking Miyuki's side, but Iorlas' eyes were still sparkling, showing that she knew he was only pretending. She let go of Miyuki's arm and instead slipped one arm around Daeron's waist.
"Don't be a grump," she teased him, nudging him with her hip just hard enough to push him off balance.
He squawked with surprise and stumbled, but by the time he got his balance back, he was also laughing.

She grinned at that, glad that her uncle wasn't as upset as he appeared. Really she did understand what he was getting at but, honesty it was alright with her. If she got to know more people then she got to know more people, if she didn't well... it's what happens one one had to travel a lot.
Eventually, she spotted the cobber's shop up ahead.
"This is the one," she motioned to them.

"Go ahead, Miyuki, we'll follow," Iorlas assured the girl.
Daeron stepped forward and held the door open for the other two. "After you, ladies," he said, bowing low for them.
Iorlas just laughed and ushered Miyuki into the shop.

Miyuki pattered into the shop excepting to see Claress to be manning the shop, even though she also knew Claress' husband could be easily the one to be running it today as well.
She took a breath in of air filled with the sent of leather and polish. She hoped this wouldn't cause them too much trouble.

Neither Claress nor her husband were behind the counter when the three entered, but instead a small boy, only a few years old, was sitting atop the counter. He was busy polishing a leather boot that seemed almost as tall as him while he was sitting, and his hands, nose and bare shoulders were shining with the polish as well. He looked up from his work with the bell above the door tinkled, and his dark eyes flickered back and forth between surprise, suspicion and excitement.
"Nana!" he shouted, turning to call for his mother through the door in the back of the shop. "People!"
Daeron chuckled softly. "A crude, yet effective way to get someone's attention," he winked at the others.

Miyuki giggled at that, she thought the boy was really adorable. She waited for Claress to come out. All the while reminding herself that she would have to switch tongues.
It wasn't until the boy called out in high elven did Miyuki remember that, that was the main language of use.

Since Miyuki was the one who had business at the shop, Daeron and Iorlas kept back and engaged themselves in quiet conversation. The little boy on the counter, after he had shouted for his mother, went back to work, his tongue stuck out of the corner of his mouth in concentration, though he kept glancing up at Miyuki curiously.
It was only a matter of seconds before Claress appeared in the doorway, a faint smile on her lips. Her gaze first rested on her son, but after a brief second her eyes flickered over to Miyuki.
Her smile widened, and she bowed low to greet Miyuki. "Welcome back, your Highness," she said warmly. "How may I be of service?"

Miyuki had to admit, she wasn't use to people bowing like that to her. It felt... a bit strange, even if she knew logically why Claress was. Still, she smiled anyways and nodded in return.
"I had a growth spurt earlier this morning, so came as soon as I could to have my feet re-measured. I'm not sure how much bigger they became...."
She hadn't checked her feet, she was still getting use to the height.

Claress straightened and eyed Miyuki, her eyes filled with surprise.
"I wondered if there was something different about you," she murmured, "but I saw you so briefly that once ... please, take a seat." She motioned towards the stools. "I must get the paper with your measurements from last time, I shall return momentarily."
While she headed back to the other room to get the paper, the little boy on the counter stopped polishing the boot and stared openly at Miyuki in silence. He had noticed what his mother had called her, and he was surprised to learn that such a strange-looking person was royalty.

Miyuki did as she was told, taking a seat on a stool and setting her Eevee on the stool beside her. She really had to think of a name soon, calling her Eevee in her head was a bit awkward.
As she looked up from her pet she noticed that the boy was staring at her. Like he just got a surprise, which was strange because she was sure he hadn't be staring before.
"Yes?" she asked with a smile.
She figured maybe she just didn't notice before, she noticed how unlike Amon Darthir, Nauros or even Cara Galadhon, people here were more likely to stare.
