Aodhfin snarled at Mkazo. "calm yourself. we all need to be united instead of divided or we will fail miserably." his tail lashed about more as he had grown rather annoyed with Mkazo at the current moment. he now was stalking off as he fell into step after those who were already walking. once this was all over and done with, he was going to be way more than happy about it being over. ears pinned to his head, he was likely to continue his gruff silence as he kept an eye on the group around him.

Morag half smiled at Elcca in return, covering any reaction she might have had to Mkazo's barbed words. Yes, she was injured, and thus far, had not shown a great aptitude for... well, really anything. It could be that her over protective family had every right to act as they did, that she was next to useless in a fight and only a liability... but this time, her conviction was so strong, she felt his insult slide right off her back. She was out to prove herself, and there was nothing he could say to stop her.
She gave him a look over her shoulder, her tail twitching. "I might be missing an eye, but again, I tell you that my claws are still sharp... and unlike you, I was born here and the fire is in my blood. Why don't we get on with this mission and find out what's in yours, hmm? My eye will heal, but you can't regain what you've never had." Her voice was low and decidedly civil when she delivered her retort.
"Besides..." She said as she turned and paced away after the others. "I'm not the one bitching about the mission."

Though Azulon was far from a kind lion, he couldn't help but find Mkazo's behavior rather ridiculous. Sometimes he could see the value in a good insult, but there was a right time and place. This just so happened not to be it. Still, at least he had accomplished making them move, and the dark red lion was content to begin to move once again. He made a quiet note to be impressed, or at least surprised, by Morag's resolve, having earlier pegged her as quite a bit weaker than she was showing to be.
So to the desert it was, then.

There had been so many voices, so many talking in and out of turn. Mwako'damu sighed as Kooka watched from atop his shoulder. Kooka looked to mwako'damu.
"Desert?"
"It seems that is our way now."
The bird tilted his head. "I will stay."
"You don't have to, to risk overheating, I know you and heat don't mix all well sometimes."
"But friend gone without friend is not good mix either," Kooka said with a nod, settling his grip on Mwako'damu's shoulders. Kooka would not leave his friend behind, nor Yoan, new friend, either.
"Sides, Kooka can see lizards better that you lot from sky, I help when food neeed?"
Mwako chuckled and nodded, "yes, of course, if you wish."
"Kooka wishes, yes."
The bird then became quiet, settling into a light sleep.
The desert would be brutal, so were the nergui, but it seemed like they had no time to waste.

He was starting to feel irked. Turning back to the group, Serkan stopped walking. "Less talk, more walk!" He motioned with his head. "We find shelter for day over this way, if walking night. Or we walk day?" It was a rather important question. The Firekin were used to the heat of the day, and the Hongshan were beginning to acclimate to it. Or at least, Serkan was. But that didn't mean traveling in daylight would be better.

Mkazo's eyes blazed, and he snarled silently as he stalked after the rest. She wanted to talk about fire in the blood, did she? Stupid b***h didn't know a damn thing about his bloodline. He was tempted, oh so tempted, to surprise her with the fact that he was no mere rogue, but fully half Firekin--much more than what most born outside of the lands could boast. And the other half? He'd lay a wager on his mother trouncing this snippy thing any day...if he didn't do it first. But for all she seemed to have forgotten it, this was no time or place to be bragging about family trees and bloodlines. He could wait.
