"Hmm a hint about my wish... Well right now I have just about everything I could want... So the only thing left is what you want" She smiled up at him, "Even if I don't know what it is, I still want you to get it." Once again she squeezed his hand. Then thought some more, "I don't know... Just hasn't felt the same... maybe it's just my food poisioning, which I thought people usually got over within like 24 hours. Just different, and I've never really known you to keep a secret from me before. I mean I assumed you didn't tell me everything, but something so big that it's what you want most right now. I have no clue, and I don't know if it's just that I haven't been paying attention... or that we are slipping apart..." She was cut off by Chris.

Chris shrugged "well yea because i mean people grow apart when they get older...and also peoples partners dont tend to like the others childhood friends" he stated before hearing what she said "thats not really a hint...thats what you wished for..meaning it wont come true now..." he sighed "you should wish for something you want...perhaps wish for a guy to take you out on a date like this in the future" he said, still believing the purpose of this was for her benefit and not both. "well...its just more a secret that id rather keep until the right moment to tell it..because if i dont say it at the right time...it might push us further away" he said. "and were not slipping apart...not that i know of..i mean...were both...happy right?"

I want you to be happy, and if whatever it is will make you happy then I want you to have it." She told him, now staring at him instead of the stars. She sat up and turned to face him, her back now to the ocean. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." She was looking him dead in the eyes. "I don't want to force you, especially if you think me knowing will drive me away. Though I couldn't imagine anything that could ever do that. No not even our eventual partners. They will just have to deal." She gave him a smile, but there was a ring of honesty to what she was saying, "and of course I'm happy. I'm the happiest I've ever been when I'm with you. It's the only time when I don't feel like something is missing, the only time I feel like I'm really at home." She didn't break her gaze. "Are you happy?" She asked, her heart hurting to have to even ask that question.

Chris just looked at her as she started her full gaze at him he wouold son sigh "believe me...if i tell you theres a fifty fifty chance it will not change anything...or it will do nothing but eventually push you away without anyone even realizing...trust me on that...and honestly its tough to make the choice" he confessed "of course...im happy...i mean there is something that to me feels missing...but like i said its just the secret that will fill that place" he told her "and your happiest when your with me? really?" he asked her

She wished for his wish to come true. and she thinks his secret is that he is tired of her XD dem feels Her heart sank when he said that he felt something was missing. All she wanted was for him to be happy. This stupid secret was keeping him from that. Then there was a chance the secret would push them away... "Wait... so the same secret that could push us away, is the same thing that is missing in your life?" Her face was serious and she felt like someone was stabbing her in the chest. "It doesn't have anything to do with me does it? I mean if there is something I am doing wrong, or if you just want some more space just let me know. And yes I'm happiest when I'm with you, but if it isn't the same I would understand. I mean we could still be close and have more time to ourselves.." The words were flowing out faster than she could think. "I mean it would take some adjustment, but I would be find as long as I didn't loose you. Please just tell me what I can do?" She begged him, it being the only thing she could think of that could fit both criteria. She almost looked to be on the verge of tears, something that didn't happen often. He could count the times he had actually seen her cry on his fingers.

Chris just looked at her "nonono...i mean what my secret is is what making me feel like something can be missing if it goes wrong, which in turn will make what is missing even bigger" he explained to her trying to not make her cry, he hated it when she cried. he would sigh "look....how..about....do me a favor...closeyour eyes and just listen to what i have to say...since telling you i have a secret literally made this worse..." he said rubbing the back of his neck "so...do you mind closing your eyes and just listen to what i have to say and not respond until im done?" he asked her figuring that at this point keeping the secret after she knows there was a secret wasn't helping because she was taking it the complete opposite direction.

Chris sighed and took a deep breathe "well...moment of truth" he thought before clearing his throat "well...to start off...that plank...and the promise....i actually remember it...well even without you reminding me a few days ago..." he said looking at the moon "and...honestly...to me what i feel missing is something trivial...to be fair...even if what i wanted...would not come true...i would always hope that we'd always be together even if it wasn't possible, and...many times it would automatically be a terrible time to even bother with the secret...as for example i think like 3 years ago.." he said, though if she remembered it would be during the time she was dating someone at the time. "so...as for..my wish...and my secret...its not that i want you to be...further away or anything..rather i want the exact opposite... rather more than just the opposite" he confessed still looking at the moon, he would remain quiet after that giving her th sign that he was done.

When he finished she waited a moment before she opened her eyes. She processed everything he said, going over it again and again in her head, watching him gaze at the moon. Her heart started to beat faster and there was the feeling in her stomach. "So..." She said softly, and hesitantly, "What you're saying is... that I'm your wish." She blushed and saying it out loud just confirmed what she had been fighting the past few days. "Heh, so that's what was going on." She murmured to herself, thinking through her next move. "I want to cash in on our other bet." She announced, still not entirely sure of herself. But if she was right, then everything made sense.

"y...yea...." he answered her question before haring her mention the other bet "um...sure...i thought you wanted to save it for a good one?" he asked her as he looked at her he of course was showing off a bit of red in his cheeks as it was embarrassing to him to even say all that despite it was not the words he would want to use. he looked at her wondering what her favor was going to be asked.

Chris rose an eyebrow "um...ok" he said closing his eyes "um...i know you dont really have your crush on me anymore since we are not kids anymore...but i cant forget it...and i actually still want to continue on the path that our promise and such" he said finishing his words.

She paused for a moment, "Keep them closed until I finish." She commanded, then took another moment. "You know... I had that crush for years, and the only reason I stopped was because I never thought you would see me that way." She took a deep breath, "I may have gotten rid of that crust, but... Chris" his name was light on her lips, "I never stopped loving you. I was just too thick headed to see it... The guys I dated... were just a distraction. I wanted to feel that way again, but I couldn't. Not with them. I didn't want to admit it, but over the past few days it was coming back... I tried so hard to deny it. I didn't want to put myself through it again... So I convinced myself I had food poisoning or something, but that wasn't it." She paused for a moment. "You mean the world to me." With that he could hear her move. She sat up on her knees and pressed her lips against his. "That is my response."

Chris listened to her, it seemed they were both dense when it came to their felings but what he didn't know was that she was dating others because she didn't know what to do. after he heard her talking he would feel her lips against his, which surprised him but when she spoke again he opened his eyes to look at her red cheeks showing clearly on his face "I've...always loved you as well...your..just always a free spirited person i figured you wouldn't accept my feelings" he confessed to her before holding onto her hand tightly "i wouldn't want anyone by my side than you...and thats the truth" he added before he would try and move in himself to kiss her on his terms if she accepted that he'd be happy if not he would wonder.

notmywill2242 She blushed even more when he kissed her, but accepted it kissing him back. "While we are being honest." She said resting her forehead against his, "I never wanted to be Best Man, I just never thought..." She giggled and held his hand. "If I had known it would turn out like this, I would have gotten you to take me out a long time ago." Her smile reached from one ear to the other.
