~*Radagon Mimuria*~

The third attempt failed horribly. The rope was too worn, and now just broke when he went to tighten the damn thing. Seeing how this rope was done for, Radagon went and grabbed some left over rope and sat back down at his seat. He was hoping a new bit of rope would help him, as that last one was full of bad luck. With a new one meant he could have a fresh start in a way. Relaxing a moment before Radagon went on to keep up with his work, he took a moment to think back when he father was on the verge of a breakthrough. He had gone from the nature chakra research to something a little more dangerous. He was attempting to create artifical chakra. Though he had been told not to, as it would only lead to a dead end, his father went on anyway. His research was to try and make a source of chakra that could be the source for a ninja in emergency's that meant he needed a different source to use. Not like a power pill, but a small vat of chakra that would be used instead of the users chakra. His father had first tried making a solution of chakra, like in a water form, that would be held in vials that would be used. This lead to a dead end, as his father was forced to put chakra into the water and store it, but would be unable to use that chakra for a jutsu, so he scratched that idea. Thinking enough on his fathers research, Radagon grabbed his new rope and went for another try to make a knot with the rope in his hand.

Loric continued panting heavily while trying to regain some sense of control over his senses. How was he going to manage to go after her in such a state, no matter what there was no way that he could get anywhere near that door without being berated with the most awful stench that he had smelt in his life. The thought occured to him to simply run back to the class and explain to Yoshi-Sensei what had happened but there was an issue with that. Before he had left the academy he had heard the principle tell them to simply ignore the strange things that were going on. Clearly there was something at work here that they were not meant to find out about, what would happen to his fellow classmate if she were to be discovered? Loric certainly didn't want to be responsible for turning her in red handed. No, there was only one honorable way, they would have to go after her and bring her back. "No we can't, she will surely get into trouble if we tell on her. We should go after her and bring her out, if things start to get troublesome then we will say something to sensei." Tilting his head up, Loric scanned the area for Miyuki whom he was supposed to be waiting for outside. Instead however he had saw her go zooming past him, obviously frightened by what ever it was that she felt inside that hall. After a few moments he spotted her sitting on the ground. "Miyuki!!" He yelled out, "You ok over there?" he questioned. Just then he noticed that there was another that had reacted to the event in the hallway in the exact same way as Miyuki had. It was Kuro, one of the boys that had helped in passing out the assignment materials, it would seem that he had been equally shaken. This was better actually, rather than go for it alone, they now had a group. Provided everyone was willing, Loric figured that their best course of action would be to go in together, and come at one person stronger.

To all those that were watching Shiro, they would see the young girl reach the door as a dark shadow hung over her and guided her into the dark room beyond. There the door would slide back close but stop just slightly ajar as if to beckon more to come and explore.

Hattori rolled his eyes at the teacher's remark, then returned to his desk to continue his studies... on knot tying. Hattori slumped in his desk and took the next rope into his hand. He started to tie the rope around itself, looped it around itself, and yanked the ends. He stared at the half-assed improvised knot for a moment, then tossed the rope aside. "I don't even knot what that was..."

The book was open to the chapter on the Celtic Knot. The students hand flipped a few pages, then thumbed a chapter back. Then another. Ooh, look... Hattori thought, eyes locked on the knot in front of him, The perfect knot for right now. The Noose Knot... The simple noose is identical in structure to the Slip Knot, except that the bight is formed at the long end. You can use it to catch small animals.

"This might actually be useful," Hattori said as he made a loop in the string. He made a bight, then a second one. With a quick pull, the knot fell apart in his hands, "Damn, I think I pulled the wrong end.."

Hattori pulled the kinks and knots out of his rope, then straightened it out on his desk, "Simple Noose, round two."

Radagon wasn't all too surprised when this rope wouldn't knot right either. Seemed he just had some really bad luck, as this rope just kept falling to a clump on his desk whenever he went to tie the bloody thing. Seeing no reason to waste energy getting mad at the inanimate object made of yarn and hate, Radagon took another moment to think back to his fathers research. Keeping his mind sharp on detail may help him in the future. His father had failed at making a liquid substance to use a chakra substitute, so now he was going to try an object that he could pour his chakra into and try to use that chakra from the object to fuel a jutsu. First, he took a wooden cube and then placed his hands on it to try and infuse his chakra into it. At first it worked, but then the cube cracked and fell apart. Trying a metal ball, it also worked for a bit, but soon the metal began to strain and break into pieces. But, he was able to make a small flame made from the stored chakra before it broke, so he was on the right track. Radagon hadn't really gotten into the research his father was doing, but he did read the journal of his fathers research notes to keep up. Now, seeing how he wasted enough time, Radagon grabbed his rope and began again.

Loric had been thinking of the same thing as Sanyo it seemed and decided that their class mate might get in trouble if they go through with it. She wondered though if Loric had seen the shadow that loomed over the other girl as she was whisked through the door. He might have missed it being overwhelmed like he was. It was clear that something more was going on. “Maybe it was a genjutsu…” she gave out the most obvious of answers while thinking further on it, “Or or… what if there is… a ghost!” Sanyo’s brain was in overdrive at the possibilities that could arise from this situation.

It was either a genjutsu user attacking the school, a teacher pulling a prank on the new students, or the worst thing, a ghost. “If it’s a ghost… w...what if it wants to suck out our blood for its’ bat minions?” She had some lore mixed up but the feeling of dread was still the same. “We have to get her out of there before she turns into a zombie!” She was a bit worked up but she couldn’t leave her fellow classmate to become a zombie at the hands of blood drinking bat controlling ghost that much was certain. “so are we gonna gather a ghost hunting posse to… punch the ghost in the nose?” Sanyo questioned all worked up on the idea that it was definitely a ghost, a ghost that now had a nose, drank blood, had bat minions, and made children into zombies down its’ hallway of darkness. She wondered though, could the group they gather actually beat such a formidable ghost? Would they actually have to go and get the teacher in the end and end up getting their classmate in trouble?

Hizen strained the two ropes by pulling them in opposite directions. This time, instead of slipping and the knot unraveling, the knot held and keeping the ropes firmly attached to each other. ”Yes. Ok. Time to make sure I can repeat that one until I’m sure that I’ve mastered it.” Hizen untied the ropes, being careful not to cinch the knot too tight and damage them in the process. Unfortunately, it was at that moment that his Mizu heritage chose to manifest itself again and the ropes froze solid in his hands. Surprised by both the sudden drain on his chakra and the ice in his hands, Hizen dropped the knot which proceeded to crack into pieces on his desk.

”Awww man… Why does it have to do that when I’m working on my lessons?” Hizen gathered the pieces together, discarding the ones that were too small to be useful and placing the others out on the desk to defrost.

”Gotta be careful. I can’t afford to do that too many times. This sensei doesn’t seem like the kind to understand accidents, and it seems unlikely he’ll be willing to give me too many more ropes.” Rummaging around in his kit for two more ropes, Hizen proceeded to start the knot again. Following the directions listed in the book again, Hizen looped the ropes around each other, and carefully cinched the knot down.

Hattori shuffled his hands through his hair and tried to think about what he did wrong the first time. The thirteen year old sifted through his thoughts and concentrated on the diagram on the page. Alright, so I made the loop, then I made a bight. Then I- oh, damn, that's where I went wrong. I totally looped the wrong way around the second time. As a result, the noose fell apart when I pulled it. Got it. This time, I'll bring it around the other end, it will hold tight.

The young Fuuma began his second attempt at the basic Noose Knot. He started off by making the loop, then followed up with the bight.Following the first bight, he made a second. Before pulling the string, he double checked his work.

"Heh. Almost did it again. Silly me." Hattori chuckled. He reversed the direction of the second bight, then put his finger in the holding loop. With a swift pull, the knot became tight around his finger. He couldn't help but think of trapping a rabbit, or better yet, another ninja, with this trap.

With this noose knot completed, he grabbed a piece of rope and moved on to another page. At this rate, he'd be out of there by nightfall!

Slowly Shiro's eyes opened and she let out a sound of disbelief she hadn't drawn any closer to the door, she was certain moving with her eyes shut would do it. Bou whimpered and sank down in his little bag his paws over his eyes. "Sorry buddy... I've got a feeling I got us into something, bad." Shiro states as she reached down and scratched him on the head Bou let out a quiet little yip in response one that clearly said 'no duh.' "Well I tried something sorta smartly, now to try the obvious-ly stupid..." she grumbles before lowering her stance her fingers touching the ground, something else was starting to bother her now. This was still in the school right? As far as she could tell it was, and she had heard her classmates some earlier, so why couldn't she hear them anymore now? Why didn't she smell them either? Something was really not right in this entire situation. She narrowed her eyes and focused on the door and nothing else. Plainly the answer to this was to get whatever was behind the door to stop doing whatever it was doing. So with a low growl "Okay, hold on Bou." Shiro states before she took off on all fours on a dead run for that door, she was certain she could run faster than the door could run away from her right? That seemed like sound logic to Shiro so she bolted for it. She could feel her hands and feet hitting the floor, each take off felt correctly like she was moving forward, but as she watched the door it seemed as if it was still just as far away as before. She furrowed her brow and poured on the speed she would beat a stupid door!

"Ugh........"Radagon said as he sat in his chair and leaned back as he placed his hand on his face, as once again he failed to make a knot. He didn't understand how it could be this difficult to make a damn knot. Some how, he felt like someone was laughing at him, but he didn't know who or even if it was just his imagination. He felt like he was just going to stop as he just couldn't understand how hard this could be. But, he'll keep going for as long as possible, as he wanted to get this over with. Thinking back to his fathers research gave him a moments bit of rest, as it was nice to just relax and think of a few probability's. After the metal ball test had partially succeeded, Radagon's father had tried using other material, such as plastic, glass, etc.. Though he gained little result, he kept pursuing the metal test. He theorized that the reason why metal was a good holder was how most kunai and other ninja weapons could hold a steady chakra use in order to increase the power of the weapon. Metal seemed to be a good use of storing chakra, but no tests could keep this theory alive, so in the end Radagon's father had put this project on hold till new research revealed more information. Now that Radagon had rested his mind for a bit, he went to try another attempt at the rope.

Radagon was in such a rage that he snapped his rope in two. He had enough of this string of rope, so now he got up from his seat and grabbed another rope from the back and then sat back down at his desk. He was now starting to get very irritated at this rope. He hated it, as he had yet to pull a knot off in awhile. Really, if this test was actually about patience, then he should have passed after the eighth attempt of failure. But no, the rope demanded more of his time, and now that last one was dead and gone. He wanted this test over and done with, but it seemed he was stuck in this forsaken challenge of death. This new rope seemed much better than the last ones, but Radagon made a silent promise to this rope that if it failed him too many times, he was going to stick this damn thing in his pocket, and once he left the school he would find a very nice barrel of oil, stick it in the barrel and then toss the blackened string of rope into a fire and watch it burn. He had enough of the ropes attempt to just make him mad. He was completly fed up with it. If only the teacher had assigned something easier, like book reading in a corner or something. Radagon then went on to try and fix this into a knot.

Apparently the threat of death to the rope worked, as the thing went into a knot easily, but the real question was how long till it began being a p***k to Radagon? Time will tell if this rope will live or die. Holding the knotted rope, Radagon stared at it, keeping the image of it knotted in his head. He wanted to make sure and try to remember to see if he could do this over and over again seven more times. He better, or it'll be roasted rope tonight. After he tried burning the image into his brain, Radagon went and began to pull the knot apart. This was such an easy task, and yet he knew that a few others besides himself had trouble doing this. Why could such a simple object such as rope be such a pain to everyone? And why was the rope being so damn hard? There seemed to be no answers for this, as it was just too stupid to answer, as even he had a hard time wrapping his head around this problem. Once the rope was once again ready to be turned into a knot, and Radagon was silently telling this rope the same death threat as before. Threatening a rope made Radagon seem insane, but then this was making him mad as hell, so what did he care.

The thought of what was happening around him was making him just shutter and parts of that unexplained fear creep up behind him once more, but he needed to know what was going on. If it was a Genjutsu then it was a good one, but if it wasn't a Genjutsu then it would be a good thing to learn from to make his Genjutsu effective once he started to learn them. Anything that could make someone flee without knowing was what going on would be good to use against a large crowd. This interest was the only thing that was keeping him motivated to even attempt heading back to that hallway, other wise he would have already started to head home. It's not like he had much to do at home now anyways, He'd be asked how things went on his first day and probably given some chores that were worse that were the minor ones that he did before he started the academy. It's not like there would be anything dangerous right? He knew that sound's shinobi ranks were still needing to increase, so they wouldn't let anything happen to the future shinobi right? Then again, from what he overheard from other shinobi in the village the testing for being shinobi was more intense then they could have guessed. Being pulled and pushed away from what he wanted to do, but eventually he figured that he'd go and figure out what was going on while getting himself more mentally prepared for what was happening now.

Radagon gave that rope a death stare for a while. It didn't turn into a knot and now he was being set back once again. Now he was going to give this thing one more chance to redeem itself, otherwise it was going to end up in a tar bath. How much longer was he going to have to deal with this. Radagon just slammed that rope onto the desk and leaned back in his chair rubbing his eyes, trying to calm down from the lack of reality this rope seemed to have. Radagon didn't even think his father had never had such a trouble with a project. And he had done some pretty weird projects from before. Once he had placed a massive amount of chakra into a bunny to see what would happen if he implanted some into a creature that didn't use chakra. What he got was a rather hyper bunny that died from a heart attack after pulling two back flips in its cage. Well, he found that animals with no chakra use couldn't use the chakra implanted in them, and yet it overpowered their natural systems to make them nuts and die from exhaustion. After that, Radagon's father rarely used animals in his experiments. Now, grabbing the rope once more, Radagon was going to try and force a knot out of this thing. Otherwise, he was going to take a break and relax before trying again.

"You know, since I did the Noose knot..." Hattori said to himself. He thumbed through some pages, then came to his target, "Ah, yes, the Slipknot."

Silently, the student read, The slip know is identical in stucture to the Noose Knot- which I just made- except that the bight to be inserted is formed from the short end, as apposed to the long. Oh- alright. That seems simple enough... but what do you use a slip knot for? Hattori skimmed the text a bit more, then flipped the page.

His eyes lit up for the diagram on that page, Oh, so you use it like a stopper, and you can release the knot easily by pulling the end. Simple stuff.

Hattori began his knot by tying the loop. He then prepared the bight in the short end, and tucked the bight through the loop. He held the knot with one hand, and the long end of the rope with the other, then gave a pull. The knot was complete!

Hattori wanted to test the knot know. He gave the short end of the rope a little pull, and without much effort at all, unraveled the Slip Knot. Hattori smiled, then grimaced, "Now I have to make it again, don't I?" Hattori bowed his head, then began rebuilding the knot meticulously.
