What could be so bad...? he questioned, biting his lip. Chris shrugged, "I can't promise. But I'll try..." he nodded his head, giving her a small smile. "But, you don't have to... I mean... It's our second date." He grinned, lopsidedly. Ginny nodded in understanding. "That's all I ask for..." she said softly. She listened to Chris speak and this time shook her head. "I know... but... this is something that should be known as soon as possible..." So I don't get too attached before you bail... Ginny smiled sadly and felt the cable car come to a stop. Taking Chris's hand again, she pulled him off the cable car and paused on the sidewalk.

Ginny glanced up at Chris and silently pulled him along beside her. They walked right past the diner, crossed the street, and continued for a couple blocks before reaching the daycare. Ginny pushed open the door and slowly let go of Chris's hand as she looked around. "Mommy!" Ginny smiled and crouched down to wrap her arms around the blonde boy that ran up to her. "Hi sweetie," she said, kissing Alex on the forehead. Taking his hand, she stood up and turned to face Chris. "This... this is my son... Alex..."

He was surprised when they passed the diner, and even more surprised when they stepped into a daycare. A small, cute, blonde boy - with eyes like Ginny's - an up to them and Chris froze. A kid... he thought, eyes wide. "You... You have a son..." he mumbled, leaning onto his knees. "Hi... Ginny's eyes never left Chris as she watched for his reaction. He was obviously surprised, but other than that, Ginny did not know how to read him. He slowly got down on his knees and held out a hand to Alex. The little boy looked at him shyly and moved to stand behind his mom. "It's okay, sweetie. Chris just wants to shake your hand." Alex hesitated for a moment then smiled and took Chris's hand. "Hi! I'm Alex. I'm two!"

Ginny was genuinely surprised when Chris smiled at her. She was half-expecting him to walk out of the daycare instead of take the time to talk to her son. Ginny smiled shyly back, placing her hands on Alex's shoulders. "Why don't you go get your stuff ready, okay?" Alex nodded at his mom then hurried away to find his jacket and backpack. "So..." Ginny started when Alex was out of earshot. She glanced at Chris before looking down at her feet. "I probably should've mentioned this earlier..." OOC: On my iPod.

Ginny chuckled softly. "I don't know..." she admitted. "I mean... 'I have a two-year-old son' isn't exactly the best ice breaker..." She felt Chris take her hand and looked at him with a small smile. "I want to be honest with you... and I don't think keeping my son a secret would do either of us any good..." Hearing Chris's next question, Ginny looked at her feet again. "He left as soon as I told him I was pregnant..." OOC: Me too! Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to start it tonight since my sister has my laptop and it's much easier to do coding on that...

Ginny had to cover her mouth to keep herself from laughing at Chris's corny joke. He seemed to be handling the news very well, but Ginny hoped that it was not just an act until they parted. Chris continued to speak and his words caused her to smile. "I know," she said, turning to look at Alex. "He's my everything." Sighing, she watched her little boy run back over to them with his jacket partially on and his backpack open. Ginny chuckled and crouched down to fix everything before thanking the daycare woman for letting Alex stay late again. "Ready to go?" Alex nodded and grinned as he hurried toward the door. "You... don't have to walk me home if you don't want to..." she told Chris, glancing at her son so he did not run out.

"Lookin' good there, buddy," he grinned down at the bubbly blonde Chris looked up at Ginny, a small frown marring his face. He ran his finger down Ginny's cheek. "Of course I want to walk you guys home," he said and smirked. Ginny felt her cheeks begin to burn and she bit her bottom lip, turning to focus on Alex. "You're really sweet..." she said, finally glancing back at Chris as she slipped her fingers between his. "Thank you..." She gave a small smile and started leading the way toward the door. Once outside, she took Alex's hand with her free one and they all walked back to the apartment together. "Did you maybe want to come inside...?" Ginny asked as they climbed the stairs. "I just have to get Alex ready for bed... but... I think we should talk... Unless you have an early class to-" "You should come inside!" Alex said excitedly, cutting his mom off. "I can show you my trucks!"
