"It seems the corruption runs deeper than I thought," Jasmine said when he was gone. The thorns on the rose were digging into her hand but she didn't notice the blood.

Neil remained quiet as he left. He placed a hand over Jasmine's hand that held the rose that he gave her. He told her "Relax your hand some." He took his other arm and put it around her shoulders.

Jasmine did as he said. She was silent now, working out a plan to stop her brother. She knew she'd probably die carrying out any plan but she had to stop him...and her mother for now she realized just how twisted her family was.

Neil let her think as he stood there for a few minutes. He then slowly pulled his hand off hers and said "You should probably want to get rid of that rose." He cut a quick glance back towards the alley. Doesn't seem to be much here. "You want to look over the scene or head on to the mortician?" he asked as he brought his eyes back to her.

Jasmine let the bloodstained rose fall to the ground. "I...need you to do some research on the earlier murders," she said slowly. "Meet me tonight at the usual place I go, okay Neil?" She didn't want him to know her plan.

Neil rose an eyebrow to what she said, he asked "Any question in particular you want an answer to?" He could tell that she was cooking something inside her head. He just hoped that she wouldn't do anything that would get her injured or killed.

Jasmine looked at him. "I want to know how he's still alive," she said. "Take Avarice with you, please Neil? He won't like where I'm going."

Neil thought a moment before saying "All his kills have been women. I do not think that he will go after me. You are who he is more likely to go after." His mind was already trying to piece together the puzzle that allowed him to avoid death.

Neil mumbled under his breath to low for her to hear "I hope so." He looked to Avarice and said "He won't be to happy about being stuck without you." He could already throw her a few theories about why he was still alive, but he need to check into a few things first.

"Jasmine, I love you. I know that you do." Neil said as he looked at her. He wanted to say more but he could not get himself to say more. He knew what she said was true, he just wished that it wasn't so.

Neil shook his head and said "Saying anything more will not change what has happened and what will happen. Besides you could figure it out if you truly tried." He bent down and patted Avarice on his head and shoulders, he had his eyes on Avarice.
