Yin wanted to lunge at and attack the boil, seeing him freeze up, seeing the opportunity right there. But the same bit of Fear seemed to be affecting him as well. He found himself quite unable to move, and he hissed at the hunter. He was enraged, but he still noticed that a reaper and a ghost were assisting him.  He was definitely in the wrong place, as something in the room changed causing his fear shield to fall. He shifted back trying to avoid too close to the center any longer. Rikki ducked the swing as the hunter began to choke. He was almost compelled to ask if the dude was alright, but he swung his weapon instead. And completely missed. Danny felt the FEAR wash over her again, like a wave over the sand. She immediately fell on one knee, her muscles seizing up and refusing to work. Jack why? WHY?
The hunter took a swing at Rikki and her heart just about leapt out of her chest with fright. Her eyes quickly flicked over to Roch too, but he was on the ground just like her. Jack. JACK.

Was this what it had been like during Red's battle? Taryn felt like there were fewer Hunters here, less death... still, there was the unknown variable of the runes, of the FEAR that seemed to erupt in and out of this room. She gave her classmates a cursory look, hand clutching the bloody wound at her side.

[Moving to TILE 3.] A sound akin to something solid snapping in two rang out, and Thackery pinned his ears close to his hair, hoping to dampen some of the noise. It didn't help much, but the noise was the last thing he really should be worrying about; there was some sort of pulse, some kind of force, weakening him substantially. Startled, he gasped for breath, trying to regain composure. The fighting continued around him, and he pressed onward towards the center of the room, hoping that he might be of some use there instead. He moved again after a few moments but it seemed as if his arm was singing him a song of pain again and it felt like every part of him was cramping up severely making him unable to lunge into a next attack comfortably. He wasn't doing so well. The place was in a mess. It had been quite some time since the hunters and halloweeners had clashed, but this wasn't a reunion the ghoul had been anticipating. Questions as to what the hunters were doing here and what exactly was going on would have to be answered later. But for now, she was to fight.
For the first time, she was completely frustrated with how practical Cybele's lessons were here – no usage of FEAR ... that was ridiculous. It took a while for her to chance upon a small stone that looks as though it had crumbled off from a rune tablet, after which she threw it at the hunter nearby. It missed. There were so many new faces amongst them now ... The ghost fell to his knees. The slimer was struggling as he kept himself up and together. The features on his face seem to disappear, lost color as he was using most of his focus to keep the rest of himself off the floor. His eyes moved from the hunter, and then to the other students. He tried to open his mouth, and say something to them. But couldn't. He was gritting his teeth, as if he was holding his jaw together on his face. Sigh. When the strange (and vaguely creepy) zombie rushed forward to defend the girl she and Wilson had been targeting, even with Caelius standing by and watching, Eva clearly faltered. It was one thing when they were mercilessly attacking her friends, and it was another when they were defending one another like that.
"Look, you attack my friends, I attack you. That's all there is to it, okay?" She lowered her weapon for now, grimacing. Her body was aching from the damage she had taken, and she had everyone around her to worry about as well. Otto was in bad shape, Jude looked like his shield was barely holding up, and Gale--
There was a moment of panic when she realized that she couldn't see the blond boy anywhere. Where was he? Could he be...? No, no no no, she had caught a glimpse of him before!
And then there was a presence beside her. Eva's eyes widened as she turned to face the figure, only for her stiff shoulders to sag in relief at the sight of Gale, safe and sound. "Thank god, I thought..." She trailed off with a grim shake of her head. She remained silent as he helped tend to her wounds, reaching forward with one arm to give him a quick hug.
"I'm not going anywhere," She promised with a small grin, drawing back, "Not if you aren't. Be careful out here, Gale."
