[attacking]

Scanning the battle, Nebi caught sight of a group of clansmen taking on one solitary human. One of the humans with the creepy weapons. Growling, Nebi jumped into the fray, picking up a weapon from a fallen clansman and using it to help her fellows kill the human.

Kemnebi felt excited, hearing the screams, feeling their fear, smelling their blood and knowing she had conquered one of the enemies that were attacking her friends. The thrill of the kill surged through her and she looked around for another enemy. A strange clattering sounded behind her, but she didn't know what it was or what it meant.

[attacking]

Her scan of the area had her noticing how the clansmen were operating. They were picking off the weaponless humans first, taking out the cannon fodder and whittling down the number of enemies to fight.

Kemnebi caught sight of one such human. He wasn't fighting or even running away, he was simply sitting there, cornered. One of her allies was just sorta staring at it, not killing it, but scaring the human out of it's wits.

Remembering her own death and how scared and pained she had been, Kemnebi moved in and killed the human. One stab of her weapon through the human's chest brought him down. She didn't get anywhere near the satisfaction she'd gotten when she'd help take down the human with the weapon, but he had still been an enemy.

Feeling almost...guilty, Nebi stepped back and turned to simply watch the rest of the battle play out.

After dying, and coming back again, Raziel had to lean on his hand against a wall to stand straight. He was rather dizzy from the whole thing. Although, he thought to himself, he really ought to be used to it since almost all field trips seemed to involve dying and then rematerializing later. Why did he sign up for these things again?

After the open field with the random battling humans, this more organized form of battle seemed a welcome change. Raziel didn't have much time to take in the surroundings and get his bearings before a group of humans found their party. For this first encounter, Raziel chose to stay close to the wall, waiting to see exactly how the events would unfold.

It wasn't long before he heard a disgusting noise. Like nothing he'd ever heard before. It was the sound of a nearly dead human gurgling on his own blood, trying to die, but failing at doing it quickly. The monster almost felt bad for the human, but didn't make a move, and as quickly as he had started to feel guilt, another creature came over and quickly killed the human.

The second encounter of a group of humans brought something special. Some of the humans carried weapons that seemed to glow. Raziel knew of these humans, but not enough to really be able to be effective. At first he stayed near the walls of the tunnels, just watching.

As he watched, the humans were doing well against his Four Clan teammates. It wasn't long before some of the Four Clans members were dead at the hands of the humans. As this happened, Raziel's blood began to boil and he leapt out of the shadows, attacking the humans.

Of course this rash choice of action left Raziel with some serious cuts.

The small battles and encounters were getting worse. More blood, more death. Raziel had taken to staying out of the battles for the most part, but he couldn't help that he was getting worked up by the bloodshed and loss of life.

Again, his group came across some humans, some of which possessed the glowing weapons. Again, some of the Four Clans members died from these terrible humans. Again, Raziel flew from the shadows to attack the horrific opponents.

This time he aimed for the eyes, trying his best to claw at them with the daggers. At the very least he could blind the human, then what good would they be at fighting? It would make it nearly impossible to win a fight against someone with sight. Once again, this course of action got Raziel riddled with wounds. Throwing one's body at a human with a weapon never really ends well.

Willow stood stock still listening to what was going on. She was frowning, ears flickering. It took her a while to notice her attire had changed. She followed wordlessly watching as she moved. Unsure if she should assume this a vision or reality. It was getting harder and harder to decipher which was which.

So far the two recent deaths she experienced both felt real... it didn't matter the real answer, but there was something they were suppose to do. Something they came here to learn. Willow's tail flickered as her nose wrinkled when she saw what they were fighting. It was... Willow held back an angry hiss.

Hunters, she growled mentally.

She wasn't sure who was going to be slaughtered here but there was no mistaken in this. Something was going to end up dead here.

She walked carrying the weapon she had, at some point been giving. Almost lamenting she couldn't use her natural form. Pausing when she heard a strange gurgling noise. Her head snapped towards the noise eyes narrowing. Human. She took her weapon and swiftly ended their suffering. "Nothing deserved to suffer." She muttered, the memories of blue fire flickering in the back of her mind.

Willow paused watching the slaughter. There was a pause, What if I'd never ran into the hunters?

Another noise caught her ears, as she looked around she noticed another human. Standing there she considered her options before swinging and ending their suffering. Walking along she wasn't sure what was going to happen She was halfway sure she should be watching but to sit and watch something suffer.... it wasn't in her heart. Not some human that hadn't done anything to her, or red, or her kind. If it'd been the hunter with the scythe or perhaps the ones with the guns that would've been different.

It was different in the previous location as well. They had attacked her. It wasn't she was attacking them.

How many of these people were actually hunters? She spared another glance towards the human she'd just gave a quick death to, in order to end their suffering. Willow felt stinging in her eyes, she wasn't sure, she couldn't be sure. There was too many variables, normal humans there'd be no way she'd want to kill them, perhaps put them out of their misery if they were hurt really badly.... Scare them otherwise... but Willow sighed. She didn't know what was really going on.

Hunters.

A chill ran up Xiu's spine at the sight of the weapons clutched in the humans' hands. They were...their job right now was to eliminate Hunters? Truth be told, the baku wasn't sure what bothered her most: the eliminate part or the Hunter part. Despite what they did, the act of killing a human was still not something that sat well with the baku. On the other hand, though...they mercilessly killed and used Halloween creatures all the time. That, and Xiu was still certain that these scenes weren't real, but...

Jack, it was this moral dilemma thing all over again.

As the soldiers rushed forward to fight, Xiu chose to hang back for now, her expression uncertain as she watched the others fight. Nearby, a group of soldiers had moved in to surround a single human. She found that she was unable to tear her horrified gaze away as the soldiers all closed in on this one human like a pack of hyenas. Without any hesitation, they brought their weapons down on the human, their attacks relentless. While Xiu felt a little sick at the pained shrieks and screams of the dying Hunter...

Xiu shuddered. As uncomfortable as it made her, she had to admit that the Fear radiating from the dying man...felt nice. She clutched at the front of her shirt, finally managing to divert her gaze from the act of violence that was occurring right in front of her. It seemed wrong to enjoy the Fear, but she meekly reminded herself that she was a creature of Halloween. It was...natural for her, right?

And then the noise stopped. The baku pressed her lips into a tight line, her expression grim as the Four Clan soldiers moved away from where they had been gathered to reveal a bloodied corpse sprawled over the ground. He had been no match for the Four Clans.

When Xiu turned to glance in the direction of another battle, she found that the tides were completely reversed. Whereas she had just witnessed a group of Four Clan soldiers defeating one Hunter, she was now watching a single Hunter defeating small waves of soldiers that rushed towards them. It would have been impressive had it not also been so terrifying.

Xiu was not foolish enough to think that she could take this particular human down by herself. If trained soldiers could not do it, how could a petite ghoul who had little training in fighting? No, she was certain that it would be best if she were to stay out of that Hunter's way. Although...

...Could they...could they see her? Her eyes widened slightly as the human turned to look at her, and there was only a moment of hesitation before she turned and head off in the opposite direction, pushing through the soldiers and Hunters.

Xiu was here to observe, not to fight or die.

The gurgling noise stopped her in her tracks.

Xiu's face grew pale as turned very slowly to face the source of the noise. Sprawled on the ground a few steps of her was a human--a dying human. The deep wound in their chest and the blood bubbling on their lips was a clear sign that they only had a short while longer to live...and yet, at the same time, it was clear that they were still very much in pain.

...Should she...?

She wasn't sure if it would be crueler for her to end this human's suffering or if she simply left them to die. Timidly, she took a few steps closer to them, her arms pulled in to her chest. As she moved into their line of sight, she could see their eyes shift to look at her. There was no fear in their eyes--it was clear that they already knew that they were about to die.

Xiu took a deep breath, and then crouched down beside them. She eyed the wound, and then the look on the Hunter's face. She could do this much, at least. With a quivering hand, she lifted one of her blades. "I'll make it quick," She promised.

In one, swift motion, she brought her weapon down.

The world went white once more, but instead of another bright and lush day, they were in the dark. A cavern of some sort, but not natural. It was too straight and perfect to be just that. As to answer him, a train flashed by, it's lights flooding the area around them, and the many other horsemen there, to show another set of leaders. Calder was upset he didn't see Chiron, and he noticed that the armor wasn't the same as before. Instead of bronze shields and glimmering armor, this was different.

As the high pitch of the train went by, Calder listened, but was rather lost on what was happening. Like before, they were dressed for battle, armed, and directed up ahead to face yet another mass of humans.

But this time it was different. These humans weren't the same. The glowing assortment of weapons and cloaks said otherwise.

Hunters.

This was different. The simple fact that these were Hunters and not just angry humans changed Calder's attitude. There was a personal anger here, and he gripped his weapons tightly.

When the call came to attack, Calder went with the rush, and met the Hunters. The first charge was unsuccessful, as he wind up dodging back, evading a long spear and a saw that was headed his way, winding up nicking him here and there about his arms, legs, and side. These Hunters seemed stronger than the others he met.

((Attacking))

Calder was getting nicked more than he was inflicting damage, but as he fought, he grew more and more aware that these Hunters were very well trained. They weren't out to capture. They were out to kill. No, to survive. It seemed they too could be just like those other humans.

The words of that one Hunter spoke to him as he was captured by Seeds, knowing he would die.

He wanted them all dead.

Nearly cut too severely, Calder backed off and moved into the shadows of the cavern, hiding as he circled around to find somewhere to attack.

((Attacking))

His importunity showed himself, and he moved to attack a Hunter whose back was turned to him. One good stab and he would be either greatly hurt or dead. While he moved closer, trying his best to be stealthy but quick as to not let his chance slip away.

Which it did, in the form of a large blast of blue light. Blue meant bad in all languages, as he was learning quickly from the past, and he jumped out of the way, pressing against the wall in the shadows as he shield his eyes and held out his weapon.

Willow stopped when she noticed shadows dropping and attacking humans. Unarmed humans and Hunters. Her ears flicked back, eyes narrowing.

The clans were a double edged sword, if they were killing humans what would sustain them when the humans were gone? Halloween needed fear. However, Halloween couldn't live with hunters around. Willow stood by watching the clan members killed by those with weapons.

There was an unmistakable fine line, but where was the stopping point? Of course, in a way, Willow could rationalize that the hunters were using the normal humans in order to hide from the horsemen. Perhaps, this was unavoidable collateral, in terms of the unarmed humans.

Either way, Willow had no intentions on helping the horsemen with that battle. Those hunters weren't her problem. Though the tigress had no problem ending lives that the horsemen left to suffer she had no will or want to get herself killed.

The smell hadn't been so unsettling as the noise of the train. Olivia found her ears cupped by her hands the moment it went whirling past them, her eyes closing instinctively as it picked up dust and debris. She almost missed major parts of the conversing clansmen as a result, now only picking up bits and pieces as curious words were dropped.

Hunters. She vaguely knew what those were. They were bad, they harmed those of Halloween. Olivia couldn't help her eyes growing wide as small connections began to fall into place and they were herded to yet another task, clad in peculiar uniforms as they had been in valley where they had died before. She looked down, noticing she had a blade in hand. The ghoul held it a little closer as more pieces began to fall.

They were going to be fighting again.

And soon enough, there were footsteps thundering down on them. Just like before, humans with odd weapons. The clansmen held them in the shadows, seeming to instruct them only to strike at the right moment.

Here and there, so many of her peers struck down humans right and left. Olivia remained in the safety of the shade, hoping her pale skin wouldn't be a beacon in the darkness as she watched the slaughter and carnage around her. A human fell right in front of her, but to her surprise she didn't move back further against the wall. Oddly, she moved a little closer. Watching and staring as he gurgled and bled out from the inflicted wounds. He didn't notice her, his eyes seemed unfocused and then they went out like a fading light. The body of the hunter stilled and was no more.

He looked to frail laying there, his life taken so easily. Olivia turned her eyes away from him and silently moved through the shadows to another spot.

Quote:

81- 100: You hear a strange gurgling noise - there is a half-dead human lying on the ground, injured. You walk over towards them...
WATCHING: You watch as they close their eyes and finally stop struggling. Humans are so frail....
