It wasn't that she had been bothered by the gesture; grabbing her to move her out of the way was sweet. It was just unusual, because typically Amarus did not receive those kinds of gestures. It probably had a lot to do with how cold she could seem, sometimes; and if not cold, a little war-oriented. Anyway, she didn't think twice about it, just stared at the remains of the wall. Jacking hell, she needed sleep.

Amarus tried to follow his line of sight to see if perhaps that was where his incense was. "Oh? Is it still burning? If it is, I'd like to see what it smells like and how it turned out," she said, leaning over again to see if she could identify it, if it was still alight. Ideally, it would be, since the fire hadn't taken that long. Had it?

Amarus yawned, covered her mouth with her hand and tilted her head, bells ringing.

Awesome xD Looks like Faussi had a much more serene experience than Amarus OTL Amarus, wry u suck at these things = A= Anyway xD; If the incense is still burning she'd totally follow him back and fall asleep there for a bit orz

"It wasn't burning too quickly a moment ago ..." He stepped over to inspect his station, before waving her over with a grin. "Not even half-used, make yourself at home."

He took a seat himself a bit further to the side and out in the open, crossing his legs beneath him. The room seemed very warm and cozy with all the scents mingling together, and the familiar (if unexpected) smell of charred paper made him feel even more at home.

XD Yes, only thanks to some lucky dice rolling. I'm sure Amarus will conquer something eventually <3 Faussi hasn't been doing too well with his training either though ^^;

It was day two and Raziel walked in, thinking he had at least done somewhat well the day before. There wasn't really indication that he hadn't done well. Or at least not yet. Listening to Invictus's instructions, Raziel was excited to actually light his incense today.

He stood up and walked over to the little screened off area. Today Raziel wasn't so concerned about focusing and was just kind of going along with whatever happened. He set up his incense like he was instructed and returned to where Invictus sat to light his punk. At first the darn thing wouldn't light, and Raziel began to scrunch his face up in confused irritation. At the last possible moment before an eruption of rage, the punk finally lit.

Raziel carried it carefully back over to his area, making sure to guard the paper walls from the fire. As he kneeled down, he thought to himself how silly it was to have paper walls when they were playing with fire. He would have to ask someone why that was later on.

He leaned over, lit the incense and then kept his face extremely close to it. He was watching it go rather slowly at first, then all of the sudden much faster. Because he was somewhat nervous, Raziel was breathing heavier than usual and very quickly got a lungful of the pungent smoke.

ACK COUGH HACK is all that could be heard in repetition coming out of Raziel's area.

Amarus smiled back in return when he waved her over. At least she could forget that she'd just incinerated her own assignment by mooching off his nice environment over there. On her way out, she looked at the Fae whom she'd seen a lot earlier at the Lotus Pavilion through the hole in the paper she'd scorched. "Sorry about the smell, hope you get used to it," she apologized.

That said, she walked over to Faustus' incense. At first, she knelt over to inhale the scent. "Hey! It's not bad," she said, as if she was surprised; she winked at him. That done, she yawned again, and from her position on the floor she merely sprawled out on her side next to the incense, pillowing her head on her arms, and watched it slowly burn.

And promptly fell asleep.

The smell of their incense wearing off too quickly, Wylfenne was still lost in dreams about the battlefield and their victorious self in shining armour (actually, *his* male self as using their other impersonation would be much fun) when a voice from behind the burning paper wall caught them completely unaware. Were they actually addressed to? And what should they do? Should they pay no notion? Should they try to play it out all nice and polite? Should they get up and introduce themselves?

While they were desperately trying to figure out what should be the best course of action, the creature who addressed them disappeared behind yet another paperwall. 'I will..' - said the fae slowly. Was it disappointment in their voice?

Willow was having a horrible time focusing, there was nothing calming, and even as much as she tried she was having an almost impossible time concentrating on what she wanted. So much so she was starting to shake a little, eyes tightening in pain... and fear.

Finally the smell of smoke and fire caught her attention, her eyes snapped open. She was looking around, her eyes were burning. Taking a sleeve the tigress tried to wipe her eyes dry. She shook her head and stood up, leaving her incense where it was she walked over to Invicitus, she looked a little shaken up. Pausing to give him a bow of respect hoping he wouldn't be mad. "I-I'm sorry I can't do this right now..." She said softly trying to keep a somewhat straight face and not to crack, though it felt impossible she didn't need to break down in class though. "If you have time I'd appreciate if we could speak outside of class."

She knew he had to be irritated at the fact students were setting the paper on fire, but she felt the need to be excused, "I-if there's not another assignment today may I be excused, sir?"

((Rolled an 8! Things turned out fine~))

So now it was time to actually use her incense?

Now was her chance to figure out how it turned out, she supposed. Were things mixed well? Had she picked proper scents? Was the lesser amount of charcoal really the right way to go? Was the great amount of bonding agent really the right way to go? It all came down to this, surrounded by paper screens in the middle of the classroom, people around her surrounded by their own small paper screens and little incense mixtures from the day prior. This would certainly be exciting, she thought, eyes dancing over her mixture from the day prior. If she had done as well as she thought she had, this would turn out great. Perhaps she could get Invictus to direct some of that attention over to her.

Please do not set anything on fire.

Yes, fire would be bad.

Fire would be very bad.

These paper walls almost seemed to be tempting them to set things alight, something which made her brow quirk in curiosity. Was he trying to bait them? Certainly, he couldn't be doing this intentionally; there was no way he would want to purposefully set fire to their surroundings. Why didn't he choose a different walling material, then? Well, then again, it so happened that the paper walls fit the aesthetic of everything else. Maybe it was just part of how they used incense? An interesting thought, anyway, one that was soon discarded in favour of picking up the object that Invictus had referred to in his speech as a punk. A punk? Well, that was a silly name, she thought, letting the word roll over her tongue, as muted by the surgical mask as her whisper was.

People like Serafina were never meant to be quiet, and perhaps the surgical mask over her mouth just made that clearer. If she was quiet, no one could possibly hear her, not a word she was saying from her lips... her lips that were far-too-wide, far-too-showing, perhaps in a way that still chilled Serafina to a small extent, bothered by her own appearance so deeply that she didn't quite know why...

But enough of that.

Up with a small flame the punk went, illuminating her little area. Carefully, she touched the punk to the incense, closing her eyes for a moment and hoping it would take as proper.

And, after a tense few moments, it did.

Soon, the scent wafted from the incense. Indeed, it was a rather spicy scent, accentuated by the cinnamon and nutmeg she had decided to place within her own mixture. The bay was a pleasant undernote she caught, even through the surgical mask, that made her sigh with a distinct sound of pleasure. Yes, this was going well. She had done this correctly. Who knew creating incense would be so easy, so calming... so annoying on the wrist... Her wrist was still sore.

Ignoring the urge to shake her wrist out, she closed her eyes, doing as she was told--visualizing. She needed to visualize. She needed to wish for what she wanted. Luck? Not in particular. She had enough luck for one unlifetime, she thought, with the way things had been going today. First, the successful dance. Then, this delicious scent? Spicy, just like her in some ways. Attention-grabbing, perhaps with the best news, the best information ... yes, that was what Serafina wanted.

Fame. Power.

She wanted all eyes on her, all attention on her, enamoured by the words she said and the charms she laid upon them, ignoring any misfavours she may have had for the opportunity to speak with her and find out about everything and everyone she even knew remotely about. She could see it now, surrounded by ghouls and boils on either side, asking her to if they could know more, asking her if they could spend every waking moment listening to her words and attending to whatever she needed, telling her whatever she needed to hear, praising her voice and how ghoulishly beautiful she looked, with not a mark on her face or skin, only marks on others, only tarnishing others, bringing them down with the news that only she was able to learn, through her growing network of those she knew, those who worshipped her every step.

To be honest, she absolutely loved the image that came to her head, completely losing herself in it despite the chattering that was going around, and despite the flames that had caught on some of the other papers walls. They did not particularly concern her, for once, not while she was lost to the world in the fantasy where the gossip of one person setting paper walls on fire wouldn't matter--she would just have someone else tell her, and then toss it on to everyone else in a glorious story for many to hear, many to process and understand in awe of her ability to tell so many amazing stories, stories they would have never expected out of others at all and how could they possibly do something so stupid? It was something completely unknowable, not understandable, and it was something that made them want to listen to more of what she had to say, hear more of her beautiful words, see more of the beautiful way her eyes twinkled whenever she had something new to say.

And everyone would love and adore her.

And no one would ever dare leave.

Yes, that was the most important note.

No one would ever dare leave.

Sepheran inhaled deeply the relaxing scent offered by Invictus from his stick of incense. The basilisk boil could only hope that his was going to turn out alright, after all he did have a little trouble yesterday, but he was sure the stick would hold together...at least he hoped it would.

When Invictus finished his lecture Sepheran went to find his place like many of the others who had went to find their spots. Taking his incense he did his best to set it up like Invictus had, when he finished he carefully lit his stick. Sepheran was ready to sit back and take in the smell when the cries of fire from his calssmates made him pause... unfortunately it was when the smoke from his incense was rising making him inhale far too much and sending him leaning back in a coughing fit.

Cough.
Coughchough.

Sepheran did his best to clear his throat of the smoke, but it was harder then it seemed. Still he wasn't about to finish just yet, he still needed to visualize. Trying to think through the coughing fit he did his best. What I want to gain...the power to protect those I care about.... Still trying to focus while he hacked was really difficult...but at least he hadn't set his on fire.

Oh, would you look at that? Lou wasn't late for class today. AND he brought his incense kit with him. For once, the boil kept his mouth shut as Invictus explained what they needed to do and how. He honestly didn't feel like being beaten to a bloody pulp by someone he knew was much stronger than him. At least, not today.

Paper walls... Surrounding flames? This sounded like a disaster waiting to happen.

... Which made the boil grin. Some people just liked watching the world burn, after all.

The vampire took his place after the lesson was turned to class work, nervously eying the candle. Not a huge fan of flames. Nope. One wrong move and his body would combust.

Though... It appeared this time he just got lungs full of smoke.

COUGH COUGH SPUTTER. Why was he even breathing in the first place?!

After Lou finished his coughing fit, the boil wrinkled his nose and attempted the assignment one more time...

Which went surprisingly smooth. After the incense was lit, smoking, and burning at a steady pace, the vampire folded his arms with a smug look and leaned back. "Yep. It's good to be me." Even though it was just incense... At the very least, he hadn't lit anything on fire.

Oh, now what was that about visualization? Uh. What did he want the most?

Psch, Lou didn't have to think about that too hard! The boil closed his eyes and pictured the thing he wanted more than anything else: bitches.

Lots and lots of bitches.

Which somehow graduated to Xiu in a bikini.

Okay. Either lots of bitches or Xiu in a bikini. He supposed either was fair.

Mercy lit one of her punks on fire, as Invictus had just shown them, then she calmly lit her incense on fire. She set the punk down, forgetting about it already being on fire. She closed her eyes and tried to visualize luck. She had always been unlucky, causing accidents and messing things up. For once she would like to be very lucky. However, the fire from the punk was slowly crawling to an available source to burn. It took a few minutes before the fire reached one of the paper walls surrounding Mercy. She remained unaware still, trying to smell the scent and visualize her luck.

It wasn't until the smoke from the accidental fire found its way to Mercy's nose before she opened up her eyes. She looked at the fire crawling up one of the walls. "Oh noes!" She had to put it out fast. "FIRE." She hadn't meant to shout it. She just needed to find something to put it out. Water. Thats it. She needed water. She grabbed the kit and emptied it out. If she could put a spell on it, she'd be able to turn it upside down and water would come out of it. She whispered a few hurried words to it and acted like it was a bucket, promptly swinging it to get the water out. Success! Her spell worked as water splashed onto the wall, or was it someone else. SHe wasn't too sure, but at least there wasn't a fire anymore.

((I think I rolled well enough to not need to roll. If I didn't have someone attack me in texts or something. QQ))

Junko was happy again. Her incense had survived the night! Now to just see if perhaps it would be okay. She was curious how it would turn out when it came time to light and burn it. Please be okay...

The incense lit, Junko sighed deeply and closed her eyes. What did she want to gain. Money? Well, of course. Everyone wanted money. But she'd gone this long without having much money; it wasn't necessary for happiness, only for buying clothing or materials to make said clothing. Food wasn't even necessary. Luck? She was okay with that. Success? She did fine...fame?

Junko's eyes snapped open and she gasped quietly, her hands clamping over her mouth. She..she didn't know what she wanted! She was happy with her life, right? That's what that meant? Oh, no! There had to be something she wanted! Something! Anything! Her friends. She wanted her friends, she wanted the safe. She wanted...she wanted strength.

Strength like Riley...

And Lizzy.

And Seiji.

And Invictus.

She calmed almost immediately, sighing quietly and smiling again. Yes, that was what she wanted to gain. Strength. She wanted to be strong enough to protect her friends, to not be so weak that they would feel the need to be overly protective of her as some had been in the past. Junko heard voices and--did she smell fire? No. Just ignore it. It'd be fine. She couldn't let herself lose this feeling.

Goopy held her stick and walked up to the candle. She felt a little nervous. She didn't really feel confident around flame. Flame and intense heats always seemed to be problematic with her ectoplasm. As she got closer, she sighed with relief that the candle's flame wasn't too intense and didn't make her start liquidating on the floor. She had been standing towards the back of hte line to watch everyone else. She just went along with things, mimicking the way others would do it. With a deep breath, her trembling long arm reached the incense stick out to the candle.

((i rolled a 9? i don't see what the 9 says to do... so maybe i should wait for clarification?))
