Servine's plotting had come to fruition. Directing the Aron, the pair of them sniffed out a piece of metal, yet not any metal, a Metal Coat just perfect for evolving Scyther and Onix. That is, if Nolan ever caught either of those - just a nasty bug or a dirty rock snake. Servine, feeling quite proud of herself, nose in the air and a superior smile on her face, lead the way with the Aron following behind, gnawing on the steel. Coming up to Nolan, she yanked the Metal Coat out of Aron's mouth and handed it to her trainer with Aron saliva still dripping from it. Her face turned to find the Luxio. She was going to mock Valor, yet he was already preoccupied with playing with Tsuki - all for the best. Servine still felt that she had done her part. Now Nolan had his three items. "We should go back to Blyse. Then you can revive your fossil, and we can get our stuff from the Mart. Post 259 Tsuki: 10 Tsuki's eyes screamed playtime, soon beginning some Pokemon version of tag. To answer Nolan's question, Chael showed him the rock. "What is several million years old, had gone extinct, and has turned into a rock? Fossil Pokemon." he answered, putting it in his bag carefully. Now he had another reason to go back to route one. "A Ranger huh? Aren't they allowed only one Pokemon and are given this weird stylus thing?" Chael asked, unfamiliar. He had lived in the city, not so much near a forest After the whole fossil thing, he started to dig some more. "THAT's a fossil? It just looks like a dirty rock. I mean, yeah, I thought an Oval Stone was just junk, but that is a rock." Valor was in pokemon heaven with his new best friend. Tag was his absolute favorite game. It was hard to believe that less than a week ago that Valor was just a Shinx who never heard of the game before, and in order to play with Snivy and Magikarp, had to be taught the rules painstakingly. Nolan smiled to himself, distracted a moment by happy memories. "Oh, I don't think Rangers do that. I'll ask Lukas about the stylus, but he certainly has more than one pokemon. "Huh... I didn't expect to see you here so soon. Either your gym battle was a success and you're just stocking up on supplies or it ended in horrible failure. I'm personally hoping for the former." said a familiar voice. Des walked over towards the two boys, Blue trotting by his side. They weren't that hard to find, considering they were making a lot of noise talking in an otherwise silent ruin, except for the random Pokemon cry. "Find anything interesting out here?" 60

Nolan was taken by surprise when Des showed up. He didn't expect the Ranger to just appear so soon. He hoped he wasn't being stalked - a vain thought, but a real fear. That would be very, very awkward to know when he had taken a leak earlier behind a tree on their way through Route 2. Valor wasn't bothered in the least and forgetting that it was his turn to tag Tsuki, he bounded over to Blue, whipping that star-tipped tail back and forth playfully. He strutted and held his head high, trying to entice or otherwise provoke the Ranger's pokemon into the game of tag. "It's the former, sir." Nolan happily reported. "Chael and I got our Bullet badges, slept the night, and now we've come this way to for some supplies. I wanted to buy TMs to replace some bad moves I let my pokemon keep." Not forgetting one reason why Des had left, Nolan couldn't wait very long before he had to ask, "Chael just found a fossil. Did you get your Aerodactyl? Can I see it?" Nolan glanced over just as Aron started to waddle away from the group. He did, however, stop worrying when Servine jumped from her perch and waltzed after the little Iron Armor pokemon. Both pokemon were tired of standing around while their trainer visited with other humans, and they went searching for their own kind of treasures - delicious food. For Aron that meant any iron or metal to chew on, and for Servine, her diet was much more traditional. She did think she was the brains of the operation, and after a quick scolding, reigned in the Aron to help her search for berries, edible leaves, and maybe some roots. Of course, only once she promised the juiciest ones for the Aron. Yet the Ruins was very much lacking in the terms of food, and it wasn't long until the duo had to walk farther and farther away until they no longer heard the voice of their trainer. They found food, not that long after, all piled together, gathered neatly. But not by Nolan's pokemon, yet by a team of wild birds. What they found was a nest of Natu. Aron and Servine exchanged glances, yet neither was concerned. Aron already thought himself invincible, and the Servine knew she was much more trained than a bunch of scruffy psychic birds. They were the perfect team. Tally-ho, they charged, scattering a few of the Natu napping by the nest. The only ones that were left were the ones that would fight. Servine already got a nasty Peck and another used Night Shade, scaring Aron. But then the two countered with a Metal Claw and a Slam. The scuffle got intense, with Servine quickly dodging as she lured the birds in close to Aron, who used his claws to take them down. When all was said and done with, Servine flicked her tail and the last Natu flew off. All the food was now theirs for the taking, for them to gorge on, and perhaps bring back the leftovers for the others. Gage sure did get around, but not in the dirty way. When he emerged from the cave, flicking his sunglasses back down to shield his eyes from the bright afternoon sun, he stopped before he got three steps out. Houndour was growling low in his barreled chest, warning Gage that someone was ahead. The funny part about getting around was that Gage recognized every single one of the trio. Three on one didn't seem like fair odds, and who knew if suddenly they had a problem with his trading deal. Skirting around the mouth of the cave, Gage went right back inside to find a second exit. They sneaked by a few Dwebble vying for the rights of an excellent rock, clipping their claws at anything that came close. And Houndour was even silent that time, understanding that his trainer was sneaking away. Although, he would rather fight. Those puny humans looked tasty and soft. Post 260 Tsuki: 11 "Oh hey, where can we revive fossils here?" Chael asked that one guy. Seriously, nobody had told him his name yet. Still digging, he found an old tooth. Checking his Pokedex, he learned it was a Deepseatooth. Evolves a water type. Oh well, he already had Argos. Speaking of him. Feeling evolution, the Croconaw ran behind a building. Moments later he walked back, still a Croconaw. Nolan might not tell Chael but that man might. Fear giggled to her friends expense. Tsuki, however, saw Gage and gave chase. The moonlight seemed to be making him more observant. That's weird since he was to be an Espeon. That scary guy looked fun! Ok, the Soothe Bell might have made him a little too happy. Then he left! Oh man, he'd find him. And do he started to sniff te ground, trying to catch his scent. Eevees were foxes which was a canine. And dogs, who had excellant noses, were canines too. So either he would prove an silly fuzz ball or a freaking genius. "Ah. Congrats." said Des with a small smile. "I suppose a celebration would be in order, but you'd probably want to have a bigger one once the journey's over." Blue watched Valor for a bit, fighting the urge to play tag with the other Electric-type. He instead sniffed around, looking for treasure. Should he find something, he would give it to Des. Yes. Because they both loved treasure. Treasure was good. Using Odor Sleuth, the Pokemon did pick up an extra couple of scents. Familiar ones. He barked at his Trainer. Des glanced over at the Manectric and sighed with a smirk. "Alright, I'll trade you. Go take this message to that person." He took whatever the Discharge Pokemon found (a Water Stone. It was a stone, but not the one he wanted) and slipped an envelope into the wolf's mouth, who then trotted off after Gage. Des then turned back to face Chael and Nolan. "Right, you wanted to see her." he said, plucking the ball from within his cloak. "Come on out." The Aerodactyl formed from the ball, standing on a couple of rocks to stretch her wings before letting out a ferocious roar, exerting Pressure on all those around her excluding her Trainer. She was just recently revived, so he thought there would have been some taming involved, but it seemed like instinct still had a role in her nature. Heh... excellent. She'd still need a bit of taming. "She's a little behind in terms of the rest of my team, so I'll need to use a TM or two to balance her out. And yeah, you can revive fossils at Valerian's lab." he said, noting that the Croconaw ran off only to return a short moment later. Was it fighting evolution? ((The note reads: Keep a lower profile. You're starting to draw too much attention to yourself. I'm not saving your a** if you ******** up and can't move around freely anymore. On a side note, congrats on giving the kid a Pokemon he's afraid of in the trade. It was a good move. 8D - unsigned)) 61

Nolan didn't say that much more, excited about the Aerodactyl, and now it was his turn to have his jaw drop. Chael had gotten excited about a rock, but of course he had every right to when it could turn into one of these things. Of course, Nolan wasn't suicidal and made sure that Des was always closer to the Fossil pokemon than he was. (Let her eat her trainer first, Nolan thought, and then maybe I can capture her.) He only had to fight the temptation to go try to touch the Aerodactyl's wing. "Her? So she's a girl. You couldn't tell just by looking at her, heh. How soon do you think you can fly with her?" Nolan was seriously interested, and he brightened up just like a little child at the thought of soaring through the sky on a dinosaur. Now he wanted to see if he could help the Ranger anyway to replay him for. "I own Acrobatics, Return, and Flash Cannon. But I plan to buy Bulldoze, Thunder Wave, and Swords Dance really soon if you could use any of those too." Chomping, slurping, and filling their faces, Servine and Aron pigged out on all the delicious food that the Natu had gathered and lost to the tougher trainer-owned pokemon. Stuffed within minutes, Servine leaned back and rubbed her full belly. Aron was having some trouble walking without his belly scraping along the ground. The Grass Snake let out a loud belch, then rolled back up to her feet. 'Now, to the human.' She ordered curtly. Aron didn't even seem to mind being ordered around because of the wonderful ideas Servine had about stealing food from wild Natu. He urped, then started to nudge the leftovers over to the bit of trash cardboard someone had left. Down at the bottom of the nest, a Leaf Stone sat once covered by the twigs and Natu feathers. Servine picked it up, looking it this way and that way. Sighing, she was disappointed it wasn't as pretty as a Thunder Stone or a Water Stone, and with a little toss, added it to the pile to give to Nolan. Aron looked up at Servine, and with those sky blue eyes questioned if they were ready to get back already. He was ready already for a good, long nap. Servine nodded, and the two of them dragged / pushed the cardboard to bring it back.
