Tori quickly walked with the rest of them and quickened her pace just to keep up. Taking one last look to the outside just as they entered the cave and once father in that it was dark and she turned on her flashlight to see where she was going. Tori didn’t even know that it was going to be cold inside the cave or she would have better prepared. Oh well next time she would be as she shivered slightly. Quietly she followed while keeping her light a head of her.
She did have to wonder how one got an elevator in a cave she thought after she had calmed down her racing heart after the floor fell the first time. Once down on the lower floor and still cold, but she was trying hard to not pay it head. Once they had stopped again and watched as Caelius crossed the room that had arrows flying across it. Tori just sighed as she watched others cross it.
Once it was her turn she summoned her weapon and taking a deep breath she ran across not stopping for anything. Almost making it across without taking any damage Tori falters and one arrow hits her Fear Shield. Glad that it was just her shield as she gathered with the others that had made it across and waited to continue.

Ofelia slowly limped over to where Candace and Gale were, or at least she just strolled over and ignored how her body sort of tingled, and she grinned at the pair as they waited for everyone to get over and for the mission to continue on and become more and more awesome. "Howdy guys. That was pretty interestin', yeah?"
Rue did not approve of her choice of words.

It was dark, something which unsettled Sherry the slightest bit. She'd never liked the dark. It was also cold, but after the heat outside, it was almost welcome, for short time anyway. Picking her way with the others over the uneven terrain, Sherry was wary. She could could name a movie or two that started like this. And then their leader stopped.
A hallway of arrows? Really? And Caelius just...just Sherry didn't know what he did. But she did know it wouldn't be that easy for anyone else. That became clear from watching everyone who followed him. Summoning Armagnac, she stood to wait her turn.
When it was her turn, she took a deep breath and started running as fast as she could. For the first few steps, she thought she had it. Unfortunately, running with Armagnac summoned was not something she'd thought to practice much. While trying to keep the glaive from hitting the ground, from tripping her, and trying to keep it in front of her, well, Sherry somehow lost her balance. She didn't hear the individual whoosh! of the arrow, as there were so many others close by. She did feel the arrow, however, as it tore her coat and scraped against the back of her.
Still, she made it to the other side, slightly harmed, but not dead.

Vanessa gave a nod to Sydney, a small, perhaps encouraging half-smile on her face. "To be expected, really. Especially with the cirmcumstances of the text."
And then people were showing up, namely the Death Division Leader. Vanessa quickly picked up everything she needed, slipping them into her pockets. She glanced to Sydney, nodding to the other girl before nodding in Caelius' direction. It was time to go, apparently.
They moved through the caverns, the Lifer noting the walls and the hallways. She watched with a frown as Caelius showed them that this was, in fact, pretty much the definition of a 'Indiana Jones' Cave. All they needed were some huge boulders to come rolling down at them.
Vanessa watched as Sydney made her run, noting that she hadn't done too badly. Vanessa summoned Volt, gripping both hand-holds on the weapon. She watched others go through, noting the flight of the Fear-based arrows. Finally, she braced herself, waited for the most recent attemptee to get across, and then bolted for the other side.
She was making good progress, when Volt suddenly exclaimed in her head, in the form of a rushing wave of static, saying, :: AHHH IT'S A ROCK LOOK OUT ::
Of course, Vanessa had been looking. You know, up until the tesla cannon had pretty much channeled a broken radio station's frequency into her head. Then, in those two second she flinched from the raw, jaw-grinding sound, her focus was off the path, and it was just enough for her to trip on the rock. She recovered, but it wasn't fast enough to avoid one of the arrows. It grazed across one of her arms, but she managed to avoid the rest of the arrows after that.
Once she arrived at the other side and was out of harm's way, she looked down to her summoned cannon with barely masked rage. Volt was now kind of fearing for his existence.
All in all, not the best start to a mission.

Fini felt slightly bad for making the girl, who introduced herself as Tori, jump. Looked like some of the other trainees and hunters nerves were a tad on edge. Her own included. There was just something that was not very appealing about entering a dark cave. Especially if this...Caelius was the one taking them down into said cave. True she didn't know the Death Division lead personally, but word spread.
"I have to admit, I'm curious as well." She smiled at Tori, nodding and following her to gather the equipment they would need. Once she was sure she had everything, and that it was secure, Fini glanced back at the cave. "Are what they say about Caelius true then?" She whispered over to Tori before the man himself appeared and into the cave that all went.
:: This is pleasant, isn't it? :: Vashi mused.
:: It's cold, that's what it is! And cramped. ::
:: Are you complaining already? ::
Fini didn't answer, staring in shock as one by one they each had to run through the arrows. She shivered from the cooler air, summoning Vashi. A small part of her relaxed feeling the hum in her mind as her fingers curled around the sais.
:: This should be fun! Just run like some ugly boil is tryin' to grab your a**. :: He offered helpfully with dark humor.
"Here goes nothing..." She muttered, not at all reassured. Taking several deep breaths, Fini waited until she was able to step up and take her turn. Holding her weapon tightly and taking one more deep breath, Fini took off, racing across the area as quick as she could, putting all her faith in Vashi and his Fear shield. Except there was a moment of damn hesitation in her stride. Would the shield hold?
:: PRECIOUS, ******** MOVE! :: Vashi snarled viciously.
She moved alright, feeling the sting of arrows slice along her arms and hip. Fini cursed, not watching in front of her and found herself bouncing off of someone. At least she didn't fall on her a** this time. And it wasn't Gale either. But it was someone she knew.
"Bix! Uhh...sorry about that. Guess I should learn to watch where I run." Hopefully he wasn't...too injured from the arrows. Fini rubbed at her arm, giving Bix a small smile. She also wondered if the girl she'd met outside, Tori, had made it safely across.

Jerry had been content to ghost his way through the mission. After what had happened last time... yeah, he was not looking to draw attention to himself. Just go through the motions. Stay quiet and people would leave him alone. No fights. No bothering anyone. No drawing attention to himself. Just get the job done. This plan would have worked, too, if it hadn't been for what lay inside the mouth of the cave.
He hovered just outside as long as he could, breathing quickening. Finally, someone behind him had finally shoved him forward, and the blackness enveloped him like a strangeling, suffocating torrent of water.
He couldn't breath.
Just... just move forward. Just keep going. It was just... just.. .just...
A tight, terrified noise escaped his throat as he heard shouts and yells and odd TWANGS up ahead.
"Ohgodohgodohgod-" There was something in the darkness, there was ALWAYS something in the darkness, and he had been getting so much better about simple shadows and dark spaces but it was different when it was the light in your bedroom this was a mysterious cave filled with god knew what and oh god it was going to eat him- his first instinct was to summon his weapon, and the howler erupted in a brief moment of blessed green light, but even the dim glow from the bazooka's eyes and runes weren't enough to penetrate the inky blackness that had enveloped the trainees.
Someone shoved their way past him as he stood, frozen in place, his stomach twisting. His brain was swimming, eyes unfocused as Roar's screams in his head urged him instinctively forward. Jerry gave a distant noise in the back of his throat, stumbling forward after the rest.
It wasn't until he was stumbling through the field of erupting arrows to where the rest all congrigated in the darkness did he register the sharp pain in the back of his head.
Still only somewhat aware of his surroundings at that point, he juggled his weapon under his arm, freeing up a hand to tentatively touch the side of his skull and there was a dim pinching feeling as his fingers touched the arrow shaft lodged in.
"Fear Shields, save the daaaay~ Won't die with them in the waaaay ahahahahaa..." He wobbled, singing softly under his breath.
Well, it was a familiar, easy sort of madness. A stray arrow he could deal with. But they needed... they needed to get back out into the sun. Yes. Like. Right now. He gave the arrow a tug, but it was lodged in fairly tight. Bother.

The ground was just a bit cooler, after all they were in the shade of the trees- but the awful, awful humidity meant that, oh god, Robert's sweat was still on her face, and Reine rubbed furiously at her cheek with a sleeve, not even stirring when Clerise approached her.
She needed some time alone, okay, years of noogies hadn't gotten her any more used to this.. this.. disgustingness. Oh god. At least she'd wiped it all off, and just in time to see Caelius arrive. The life trainee picked herself off the ground hurriedly, inching closer towards where everyone else stood, and surreptitiously grabbed the items Sandy had set out. Tiptoeing, Reine tried to look past the other trainees to where Caelius was, she couldn't even hear what they were saying, was she missing out on information.. oh noooo, now he was moving on, towards the cave.
Maybe she should grab someone else and ask them for details or something. A worried frown on her face, Reine followed the rest into the cave, shivering once she stepped inside- it felt almost air-conditioned, what with the difference in temperature inside and outside. Pulling her jacket closer around herself, she checked the fear scanner on her wrist, relieved to see there wasn't anything yet, other than Caelius being cool, of course. Reine kept her eyes more fixated on the dot of blue light than she should have, and maybe tripped a few times on the uneven floor as she was walking.
By the time they'd reached the hallway Reine was slightly terrified, and also extremely impressed by Caelius' reflexes, so much so that she hadn't even realised it was her turn to move until someone shoved her forwards, and her legs only managed to start working justttt in time to propel her past the first arrow, and then the next ten, and then there was one zinging past right in front of her face.
Reine closed her eyes, screamed, and ran along the hallway until she crashed into something warm. Considering how cold it was, Reine might have wanted to cling on to the person's jacket just a second longer. Considering who it was, though, she might just be in significantly more danger than she had a few seconds ago. With a squeak, she detached her hands from the death division leader's coat and backed away a few steps before getting the hell away from him.
Worst way to start a mission. Worst.

Quote: 21-40: You manage to keep pace, but the last few arrows throw you off as you take a little bit of damage, but mostly to your Fear Shield. -5 HP When they needed to cross, and the arrows were flying every which ******** way, Before opted to hold back for a few moments to "asses" the situation. And by asses read: Stare with a complete and utter lack of amusement. Well, he supposed hidden traps were preferable to getting beaten down by yetis. As his fellow trainees braved the traps, Vanna mentally nudged her partner forward as he summoned her.
He took a deep breath and dashed forward. There was something to be said for having a weapon like Before's. It wasn't as streamlined as a sword, nor did it have the reach of a pole-arm, but it was versatile enough to act as a shield for most of the run. He had almost reached the end, angling Vanna this way and that per her instructions and successfully deflected every arrow that came at him! Except for the last leg when they were coming at him from behind. He slung Vanna behind him, except one arrow shot through the gaps with pinpoint accuracy and stabbed right into him.
Well his FEAR shield took most of the damage but the tip was strangely stuck at this spot just out of his reach. The wheel seemed to be hanging off the arrow like some weird hook. It didn't particularly hurt but it was singularly annoying >.>

Candace looked up when someone close by addressed her and Gale, giving Ofelia a wave until she noticed..how she was dress. Ugh Ofelia why. "It's something. How did you not get hypothermia, Ofelia?" She sighed, looking up to see who else had made it in. Her search stopped at Jerry. He made it. He made it okay. He was alive. Oh thank god! Oh, wait..there was an arrow stuck in him... in his ******** skull. She frowned, quietly excusing herself from Gale and Ofelia to wander closer to him. "Don't just pull at it, you'll only hurt yourself more. Do you want some help?" Candace asked softly, trying to stay calm as she leaned in closer to get a good look. She winced. "That looks painful.."

Ariane made the best poker face she could as she ran in after everyone else, weapon gripped tightly in one hand; she could hear the arrows being fired behind her as she did pretty well - until, in the darkness, she found herself almost tripping over uneven ground, and an arrow grazed her arm, leaving a rather deep wound as she recovered and continued her sprint down the corridor.

"It's fine fine fine," Jerry hummed, still sounding that breathless sort of close-to-hyperventilating as his eyes blindly scanned the darkness for any sign of movement that could be threatening. But it was all threatening. His brain didn't like it. "Like that time Aria stabbed Mr Gale and he was just fine at least I think it was gale but you know Fear Shields and all that and someone had a torch right? Are there any flashlights why don't we have runic flashlights or a spotlight or one of those boat lights that would be awesome those things'll blind you but I guess that would be bad are we done here yet can we go I'll just... just..." He already took an arrow. He wouldn't be so lucky if he was hit by more, Roar reminded him irritably as he hugged the cannon to his chest. That voice talking to him that wasn't his weapon sounded familiar but it was dark and his head hurt and he was currently debating between throwing up or fainting but settled for madly trying to hold on. There was a mission. In a horrible dark cave and oh god he wasn't here he was somewhere else... but his usual Happy Place just... didn't feel right anymore. His brain scrambled. A field of butterflies maybe. All tickling him. hahaha yeah that was pretty.

Yes, Jason had totally been there the whole time. Totally been following the group like a shivering wuss as they walked into the cave. And now he stood before a nice long corridor, filled with arrows going back and forth, ready to impale him the moment he walked into their firing line.
Yeah, he was totally screwed.
He didn't have time to analyze the situation, or to see if he could find a tile that would deactivate the arrows. No, he was only able to summon his weapon, and run through the corridor like a panicked madman, hoping he didn't get shot.
And run he did. He was pretty fast for a guy running with a sword. But then, he spent much of his time running away, especially from things that frightened him. But for all his speed it couldn't prevent him from experiencing a sense of deja vu, and tripping over a lose pave. For a moment he seized up in terror, expecting to feel the pain of arrows embedding themselves deep within him, but instead only felt a moments pain as a one grazed his arm. It was the best he could have hoped for.
Reaching the end of the corridor, he leaned against the wall to catch his breath and to calm himself down and then prepare himself for whatever else he would face.

"Jerry let me just...get it out..okay?" She bit down nervously on her lip, trying to figure out how to go about doing this. Candace let him ramble on until he mentioned flashlights. She offered him hers. Did he not collect his own? Oh dear. Well..she...she could go without a flashlight if it meant Jerry could have one. "Yes, yes. Now..uh...we need to get this out of your skull, honey. Will you let me do that?" Candace was keeping her voice as soft as she could.
Sure, Candace herself had just said don't rip it out but..there was a ******** arrow in his head. "I'm going to count to three. Just...just stay still, okay?" She waited for some kind of agreement before putting a hand against his head, the arrow between two of her fingers. Her other hand gripped the arrow. "One...two..." She then pulled it out with a firm tug, wincing at the sight of having just pulled an arrow out of Jerry's head. "Th-three..haha! Good news! It wasn't deep...s-so you..you should be okay..." Her hand was shaking as she tossed the arrow away, trying very, very hard not to panic. Oh god she just pulled an arrow out of someone's head oh god oh god oh god..!

It had already done its damage, and with the magic of the weapon's fear shield, indeed, the thing being pulled out healed instantly as though it had never been there. Even so, Jerry reeled, clinging to the flashlight with a desperate whine in his throat, but staring into the wonderful light only killed with little night vision his eyes had adjusted, and made the dark darker.
If he had his own flashlight, it was long forgotten in his panic, as it usually went with him in times like these. One day he would learn, but today was not that day. The light swung around, briefly flashing off his glasses before settling on Candace's face.
"Did it bite me? I've never heard of butterflies that bite," He murmured distantly.
But hey. He was talking to her now, at least. Somewhat.

The arrow was tossed away to a place it couldn't hurt anyone anymore. The urge to hug Jerry was rising. He was talking to her, he was talking to her and not being crue--oh...butterflies.
...There were ******** swallowed hard. Keep calm. Keep calm. "Y-yes, it did bite you. But Jerry, that was no butterfly. That was an arrow. Snap out of it, okay? You're doing it again. Not on a mission, Jerry. Don't do this." She looked around to make sure no one was watching before she pulled him in for a kiss. "Snap out of it, Jerry. I don't want to get yelled at for slapping someone again two missions in a row, even if it's for your own good."
