Alec raised an eyebrow (as best he could), his expression a sharp contrast to Natsumi's embarassed and flustered stuttering. He wasn't interested so mcuh in her newly-acquired taste for insects as he was with the mentioned name, one that he admittedly didn't recognize. Curiousity peeked.
"Newt'n?" He slurred and glanced behind him, finding a sufficient shallow spot to sit in where he'd at least be able to be submerged to his ribcage as a conscious effort to remain hydrated.

"Mm..." Natsumi nodded, shivering some as she continued to try and wring out the sweater. Atleast it wasn't too chilly... "Aa... He is the" She paused, trying to remember the word he had used. "Custodian." she nodded firmly, finally starting to calm down.
The reminder that Newt had gotten her started on all this was somewhat reassuring. It reminded her that she wasn't the only human here eating bugs. Plus, Alec's attention wasn't on her at the moment... So it was giving her more time to calm down and collect her various thoughts."He wears a mask." she then cupped her hands over her face as though she had a gas-mask like he had.
Of course she didn't realize just how wierd it might sound to say she had met a custodian wearing a gas mask in the middle of the night who then ate bugs with her.

Alec smirked a bit and raised an eyebrow again in a more exaggerated expression. A masked, bug-eating custodian? Assuming his definition of the word 'custodian' from memory was correct, the description of her new friend was painting a pretty odd picture. This "Newton" sounded like a real weirdo but then again, Natsumi wasn't always that great at interpretting thoughts into words he could understand. "Thas coo'." The teen nodded regardless, not wanting to devalue anything she'd said no matter how unintelligable it might have been at the time.
Lifting a hand out of the water to rub moisture onto his shoulders, he seemed to notice the fact that she was beginning to noticeable shiver. "Ye need dry clothes." The sharkboy said with a sort of chuckle, lifting himself up to amble out of the water and onto the shore. Perhaps it was time his mini-bath was over as well.

Natsumi seemed fairly releived that what she said had gotten across... Atleast she assumed it had. Though cool wasn't exactly somethign she was expecting, atleast he hadn't been confused by it. So she nodded, lowering her hands with a small smile.
She gave a soft laugh when he mentioned dry clothes, in one of those 'you think?' moments. "Yes... I do." she peered over her wet and slightly dirty clothes, having gotten nowhere in ringing the sweater out. She was thankful he had said something though, it gave her a polite out to get back home and change... Along with a warm shower. She paused to wait for him, since he seemed to be getting ready to head back she figured they would walk together. And hopefully there'd be no awkward hugging this time.

Even if Alec had somehow fully intended to leave alongside Natsumi a moment or so ago, he looked very unsure of his decision now. As Natsumi made to leave, he even looked as if he was about to sit back down on the shore of the lake. Something about the calm waters made him feel at peace for once since his horrendous change and he just couldn't give it up.. yet.
"A' d'n realleh feel up teh a walk ye', on sec'n though'." He almost sheepishly explained, finally taking a seat on a dampened tree stump. He strongly hoped she wouldn't mind, especially for the sake of a guilty conscience. "Good t'see ye though. A'll see ye 'round?" The teen looked ashamed as he spoke but a stern resolve in his mind wouldn't be broken. He was staying put.

Natsumi blinked as he simply sat down again, looking confused even a few seconds after he spoke. She quickly replaced that with a smile, hoping it wasn't something she'd done... She decided not to think like that for the moment. Even if Alec wasn't exactly the type to flat out say that something was wrong, he didn't seem the type to ask to see her around if he didn't want to. Maybe he wanted to try that neat gill thing.
She nodded, "That is okay." She let her smile widen, having reassured herself it hadn't been anything she'd done. "Yes... See you around." she mimiced the phrase he had used, able to guess what it meant easily. Though she picked up some of his accent when repeating it... Which only made it sound wierd, Japanese + Irish...
She gave a small wave, turning to head back down the trail. Pausing only once when a bug nabbed her attention as it flew by. Luckally, the urge to get warm overcame the instincts to follow the bug, so she snapped out of it and hurried down along the trail.

New
Alec continued to hang about the lakeside, taking a swim once and awhile but more often just hanging out in the shallow water. Resting his rubbery and awkward feet, his movements were more fluent and it seemed so natural to be emersed in the murky water. Better yet, he found that his grey skin didn't feel so tight after a day of swimming in the lake as opposed to a day at the beach.
For now the sharkboy positioned himself atop a partially submerged and rotting tree stump, letting himself dry out a bit to a comfortable warmth. For a kid that usually loved noise, he seemed to be liking the stillness of the jungle a little more these past few days.

Nita had spent most of the day in the jungle, resting and reading in various comfortable trees. The afternoon found her wandering, following one of the many small streams that lead to the lake. Her nose twitched as it met with a familiar scent, and a moment later, Alec came into view. Nita hadn't seen him since the night he'd changed... and now was as good a time as any to see how he was managing.
"Hey," she said, leaning casually against a drier part of the stump. A paperback book was clamped safely under one arm and Nita's face was a bit grubby from her tree-climbing.

Bobby, unlike the other two, had no intention to be walking around. The pig, however, found herself with her arms full of mushrooms, roots, and anything else she had recently sniffed out as edible. She was piggishly snorting quietly to herself in content when she found that the lake was already in front of her. Blinking in surprise, Bobby let out one final snort before her human part pulled everything back in control.
Spotting Alec sunbathing, the woman chuckled in the back of her throat. It sounded more like a contented grumble. "Well, well, what do we have here?" Her eyes twinkled with humor that anyone close enough could see. Bobby saw his changes, even at a distance.
Spotting a bit of orange-red color out of the corner of her eye, the woman turned. Her mischief smile fell a little as she saw a new face. "I don't believe we've met," Bobby grinned warmly instead of offering a kind hoof that was currently occupied. "I'm Bobby."

Alec had heard Nita approaching well before he saw her, as the usual case was. He turned his angular head and watched her come to stand nearby, kicking at the water with his rubbery feet. "Ay." He shortly greeted, leaning over to see what she'd brought in hopes that it was edible.
Before he could jokingly chastize the panda girl for not bringing him a snack, he heard the distinct snorting of a familiar person approaching. "Aaaay Bobbeh!" The teen called out warmly, giving a small but toothy smile. It was good to see the pig lady; besides, she was sure to have some food on hand.

"How've you been?" she asked, watching the water splashing. Nita heard Bobby coming; it was a bit hard to miss the snuffling noises and the woman's heavy footsteps. She turned, masking her sense of surprise at Bobby's... largeness. Her eyes flicked up and down momentarily, taking in her changes.
Nita realized she was being rude and returned the grin. "Bobby? I'm Nita. Nice to meet you." She shook Bobby's hoof a bit awkwardly; however she immediately took a shine to the woman.

The older woman's grin grew. "Nita, what a pleasure!" Bobby eyed the both of them, not even acknowleging the red panda's eyes taking in her massive disposition. She did know that it was a red panda she saw, and the changes looked cute. Nita reminded her of a precious, though large, teddy bear. She positioned strangely so she could rebalance after shaking Nita's paw with her hoof.
Eyeing the two, Bobby couldn't help but giving Alec a funny smile, "Well, I brought some food, but I don't know how long it'll last. If you both want to join me I'd be happy for the company." She eyed the shark, "I don't know how much to your taste they may be up to, though."

Alec wtached the introductions between the two, bracing his arm on an edge of the trunk so he could balance his twisted torso properly. As Bobby offered he visibly brightened further, always knowing that the piglady would be kind enough to share her snacks. "Don' 'afteh ask me twice." He snorted a chuckle and slid off the stump into the shallow shore with a light splash, only to peer over at her horded edibles.
"Well 'ave been alrigh'." He calmly replied to Nita's question that had been almost lost with the arrival of Bobby. "Hangin' 'round th' swamp." Aware that his comment made him sound and feel like a geniune bog monster from his childhood fairytales, he ignored the analogy and continued. "'ow've ye ladies fair'd?"

Nita was a bit hungry, since bamboo wasn't exactly prevalent amongst the tropical flora. With a shrug, Nita stepped away from the water and settled herself on a bit of dry grass.
"Uh, sure, I'll have a little something," she said, wondering what all Bobby had with her. Nita set her book down, careful to keep it out of Alec's dripping range. "I've been okay. Was reading and stuff out in the jungle this morning and afternoon."

Bobby sat down by Nita, taking up lots of room, and but her selections on the ground. With the precision of a mother, she organized the foods into their types. Mostly, there were the nuts, mushrooms, berries, and small wild fruits. "Help yourselves, I can easily find more." So, they were a bit raw in their expanse, but tasty nonetheless.
"I've been good," Bobby sighed. "Mostly just been around and enjoying the simple things on this Island. I am getting better at sniffing out the foods of the forest... though, I had intended to bring my sacks today." The woman looked around, wondering what had inspired her to come out today.
