Eftemie Solo
In all the mess of Gehenna she had wondered what happened to him, but that had been answered when she had seen him with Mystery. It was just one of those days where she was going to think about the past and Lisana nearly growled at herself. She needed to stop doing this and focus on the things she should be doing. Like finishing the glade and other important things. Of course she planned a party when it was finished. There was always a part.
He came around one path and she came around the other, nearly colliding together. Of anyone she could have imagined, Tempest would have been the last person she expected to see and nearly physically run into. He managed to right himself and even catch hold of her as they both nearly fell.
“I’m sorry,” he said, then sucked his breath in realizing it was Lisana.
She blinked staring for a moment. “It was my fault, Tempest. I was not paying attention to where I was going. I…. I’m sorry.” She stepped back to put some space between them but her eyes were caught as she watched him.
“It was my fault,” he said watching her for a long moment. It had been a long time since he had actually seen her. Or even Joe for that matter. “Is Joe doing alright? I’ve really been busy lately.”
“So has he, “ she laughed. “He’s been busy designing things for people. He’s alright. Sometimes I wish he would slow down a little, but he likes to stay busy. We have dinner at least once a week. I will tell him that you asked for him. He usually spends his time in the mortal halls helping people.”
“It sounds like him.” Tempest agreed. “I am headed for the forge. I should go. Tell him I will stop and see him later this week.”
“I can do that. Take care, Tempest,” she said, bowing slightly before turning way. It still hurt that he was so distant to her. If he had only understood that it was about more than just he and Eftemie. Because he changed, it had all changed. She regretted that he had been so hurt when her intentions had been otherwise. As she walked back into the Pantheon and then up the stairs, Lisana sighed.
She should stop caring about this. It was over and there was nothing to do about it. Nothing she could do that he would accept. But whether he understood it or not, the part of her that was Eftemie, missed him. She missed him.
