”All say, ‘How hard it is that we have to die’ - A strange complaint to come
Kasie was surprised that Veith actually answered much less be able to understand her speedy chitchatter, but that long pause told her how she should really slow down in order to get people to comprehend a single word out of her her, and further more, he was helping her too. Sweet. But she had to listen to his explanations to start with.
Hm, since Veith continued on, Kasie took that as a sign to bombard the poor mage with even more questions. This time, she went for a slower pace. "Let me get this straight. All I have to do is read words, and magic happens? That sounds way too easy. Like.... waaay too easy. Isn't there always a consequence to magic or something like that? Also, what's this about a backfire? Is it like the spell gets flung back at you, you turn into a toad, etcetera?" Seriously, if everyone could read words, then wouldn't that mean everyone could be magical? Well, except for the people who can't. Plus, there must be people who'd abuse that privilege too. Hmm.
Then again, Kasie could totally understand why there weren't that many people using magic as soon as Veith cracked open a book to show her. Was... that even English? And, why was it so lengthy!? That was impossible to memorise!

Veith Nezariel Exactly. It should be gibberish. "Well, humans can't just read words to do magic. Humans in general can't do magic, but the ancient language of the Elves have magical attributes which humans have learned to read. So if you want to learn magic... you're going to have to learn the ancient language of the elves as well as read it." Veith explained to Kasie. It wasn't something that could easily be done because even elves tend to have a hard time mastering their own ancient language.
"And the thing with using words to create magic is that if you say the wrong thing, then the flow will be disrupted and the magic will just get flung back on you, just like you said. It's fine if you haven't said much, then there won't be that much magic backlash, but if you miss the last word of your chantment-- you probably just killed yourself. But I guess that's not something you need to worry about." Veith explained.
When it came to magic... he had quite a lot to say.

Memorising long passages were difficult for Kasie in the first place. Now she had to add another language to it? No thanks. There was no way she could do this. She was definitely going to step back from this idea. Hold on, if magic was so hard to learn, then, Veith managed.
".....Oh snickerdoodles, you're awesome." Kasie blinked in awe because seriously, magic seemed to be more of a hassle all that learning! Ugh! than anything else, yet this guy here somehow forced it into his brain.
"I can't even say 'hola' right much less another language, so I'll have to say no about learning. My head would explode if I tried, but wow, I'm impressed that you were able to. I have one more question. Well, for now anyway, and then I will be temporarily finished until I think of more. Why do you even try when it's so difficult? After all, aren't you worried that you could lose your life?"
Wait, that was two questions. Whoops.

Veith Nezariel It would have been interesting to see a ghost perform magic, but Veith didn't really think Kasie could pull it off and he was right seeing her reaction after he explained what magic was all about. However, Kasie had to go off on a tangent about how great Veith was.
It was all useless admiration. The abilities Veith had were given to him from his parents through their experiments. He was taught the ancient Elven language the moment he was born. His memory was drastically enhanced as well has his magical abilities. As a result, Veith had poor strength and probably couldn't play any sports games at all.
"It's not that I'm awesome or anything like that. I was made to be this way. If my magical abilities weren't given to me, I could probably be as bad as you or as stupid as Kamil." Veith answered.
But the thought of being at the same level of them was appalling to Veith, but it also didn't seem... so bad.

Veith sounded so bitter in his response. And was it just her, or was that a hint of envy buried under those insults? Kasie pursed her lips, debating on what to say to him. It was tough. She wasn't in Veith's predicament, so she wouldn't understand. There was only her usual uselessness that she had going on.
"You should ignore it. If magic was forced onto you, then it shouldn't exist or matter. It's kind of like the whole idea that someone's history makes a person to be what they are, but you can always try to break out of that. If... that even makes sense. Of course, I don't understand and I probably shouldn't be talking, but what I'm trying to say is that if you want, then be 'as bad as me or as stupid as Kamil.' It's a lot more fun than you think it is."

Veith Nezariel Living like an idiot seemed like fun, but Veith figured that copying another lifestyle probably wasn't the way to go. Besides, Veith didn't feel like running around and talking about nonsense--he didn't even have that much nonsense to talk about anyways--or trying to make it his goal to get in a ballgown and be manly. Veith smirked at the girl. "I think I'll pass. Magic is the only talent I have. Even if it was given to me on a silver platter, I might as well take advantage of it. Besides, I won't make a mistake with my words so I don't think I'll be joining you any time soon." Veith said as he closed his book.

"Fine, fine, but you might as well enjoy yourself while you're at it. You might not want to join the idiot crew, but you're always welcome to laugh with us or at us. Whatever fits your fancy. After all, it's better to smile or smirk than frown and scowl 24/7." Kasie mused with a smile of her own as it was her first to see some other expression on Veith's face. Yay! It wasn't that much of an emo look anymore.
"Well, I'll be looking forward to your death then~. Just don't die from something retarded like being crushed from books or being punched in the face by a girl. Yeah. Don't do that, or I will die laughing. Well, figuratively."

Did Kasie accidentally offend Veith? Whoops. She better try to clear it up. "Well, I don't mean anything by that. I was just saying how a death like that would be hilarious, but then again, I don't think looking like a pancake would be all that flattering. Yeah, I take that back. It wouldn't be funny at all since you'd take on the appearance of your death. I actually got really lucky! If I landed on my face, then all you would see is... Yuckiness."
Kasie would have continued on with her rambling if Veith hadn't mentioned an exorcist. Wait. What? Those existed? Of course they would! If she was a ghost, there must have been ghost hunters. Duh.Well, she didn't expect one to actually attend to this school that was overrun with creatures of all sorts. "Oh, thanks for the warning." She mentioned half-heartedly, pondering if she should pay a visit to this exorcist herself. It's not as though there was a point for her to keep staying. Plus, Kasie was always wondered if she could move on....

Veith Nezariel Veith decided he wanted to leave the training grounds. He wasn't in the mood to train anymore and his concentration wasn't at it's best. He knew that in times like this, it would be best if he didn't train or he'd probably get himself killed.
"So that's how it is. I suppose you were fortunate. But aren't you cold dripping like that all the time? Well, perhaps you're used to it." Veith said as he pulled his cloak tighter around himself. Veith hated the feeling of getting cold. He was somewhat like a reptile since he would never be able to sleep without a thick blanket. Since it was autumn, he hated getting out of bed to get up and change. It would only get worse when winter came.

Veith Nezariel Veith gasped for breath. He had been practicing his magic for some time. His magical abilities were better than ever, but for some odd reason he felt that he had less magical energy than usual. Was his parents' experiments on him starting to wear off? Was he losing the long ability he excelled at? Veith didn't like the thought of it and out of rage he yelled out angry chantments and bombarded the magical targets with fire magic. They stood still without a scar since they were made to have high magical resistance. Ice emerged from the ground and stabbed at the targets. The earth became uneven and started crumbling, but due to the magical resistance, it all went back to normal.
Veith fell to his knee, unable to cast more magic, breathing heavily. He kenw he used to be able to do more then this. His stamina wasn't as bad as this before. "Dammit..."
