Okay how exactly does the theory scroll work? I can choose any move from a personal style that's the same rank as my character and learn it or no?

Quote: Nin/Gen/Tai/Ken/Any jutsu: .5x jutsu of equal rank. - Custom jutsu are not purchased as normal jutsu, but instead you buy “Theory Scrolls”, from the library, and use those to develop the jutsu. Theory Scrolls, as listed item list (I posted it in the Kumo Bank), are simply a way to "learn" jutsu or styles that your RPC created, from a scroll. Say you create a custom Gen/Ninjutsu, you would use the scroll to create the jutsu rather than have the scroll tell you how to do the jutsu itself. The same goes for tai/ken styles, if your RPC created a style you would still learn it the same (First learn the stage then any techniques). Basically it's how we worked RPC designed things into the currency system (How Hinote did that is). A similar thing applies to technology and weapons, if you want your RPC to be the creator you just spend the prescribed cost on materials rather than a finished product. I'm not sure I understand where you got your interpretation so maybe there is something else with the name of "theory scroll" of which i am somehow not aware. Otherwise I hope this helps. (On your other question it would be better placed in OOC. Unfortunately I'm not very talented with styles so I can't help.

Thanks. I probably just read the Description for the theory scroll wrong.

I'm pretty sure its strange for a crew member to ask a question here, but I'll do it anyway. If a bloodline/clan gives an RPC the ability to add an element on to another, for example adding lightning to crystal like Crystal release does, and I make a combination that I deem to powerful for the little cost it has and I make it a custom jutsu just to balance that out, do I have to take the steps to learn the technique even if I just made it into a technique to balance it out?

Are you referring to actions your RPC could technically perform without a jutsu, such as that one time David made a giant meteor and threw it at a monster? What I did in that particular instance was pay for it as if it were a jutsu (An incredibly expensive one.), and then made a custom for it. If you make such an action into a custom though, yes, you do still have to learn it as normal. For a good methodology, say you're taking a method you've discovered by combining other jutsu effects, and the learning/creating process is simply fine tuning the ability to be more effective, using only one jutsu.

Exactly this. Something such as creating a crystal hammer, which only takes E rank chakra, and then adding lightning which technically costs no chakra since it doesn't say so in the bloodline though I'd pay for the amount of the Lightning chakra's value, and then use it as a single electric crystal maul, which would hurt quite a bit and that's only one of the combinations I had thought up of.

Ah, that's a misconception. The crystal is conductive. Adding electricity to it though would require the use of a lightning jutsu. Using a lightning jutsu on a crystal creation would basically charge it with the power of that lightning jutsu. I plan to give that more description and balance when we get to that bloodline in edits.

What's not really what's interpreted from this; it says that it can be electrically charged to enhance power, so with that wording, it may as well mean that the user can pass their lightning chakra to do it. It doesn't say anywhere that it has to be with a Jutsu :/ Quote: • Can be electrically charged to enhance power

But I challenge you to find any other way in the guild to generate an electrical charge. Crystal users do not gain the ability to channel lightning chakra directly without the use of a jutsu.

Fair enough. Though the current transfer skill does the same thing in reality. That would work out fine I guess. And a second question: If I have elemental control and ability control, does that mean that my lightning and crystal techniques are powered up by one rank each and my other techniques are powered down by 2 ranks? Or do my Lightning and Crystal technique bonuses cancel each other out and remain with the same, but my other technique ranks still lower 2 ranks?

Hikaro_rin Ninja type benefits never stack, but weaknesses do. I know they don't, but what I mean is that if Elemental Control Boosts the Rank by one of the element, but lowers the rank of everything else by one, and so does Ability, save for the ability I choose, does that mean that my Element and Ability remain at their base rank, and everything else drops 2 ranks? Meaning that it would be like this: Lightning: 0 Non Elemental: - 2 Crystal: 0 Genjutsu: - 2 or Lightning: +1 Crystal: + 1 Non Elemental: -2 Genjutsu: -2 Because if it is the first one, then that combination is useless....

If Bonus A increases Y but reduces everything else, and Bonus B increases Z but reduces everything else, Y and Z retain their original level, while everything else loses two ranks. Basically you're sacrificing the entire rest of your arsenal, for no benefit. The boost attributed to each gives them a +1 to withstand the other's -1, but all benefit is lost. So yes, example one. (And Current Transfer is the one I'd recommend using for charging crystals currently, since that's what it's designed for.)

Then using either of those is purely useless.... I need a new Type Combination...

If I were to make a character who is unable to use tai/gen/ninjutsu and has weak bodied and can never receive strength, speed, and reaction speed over E rank, would that allow me to have him make Droidekas without the force field? Or maybe just some Dwemer spheres/spiders? And at S rank one or two centurions? Naturally he'd have to buy the supplies, Spiders running him 1.5k, spheres costing him 4k, droidekas costing 7k, and centurions costing 15k.
EDIT: And some PIT droids, and possibly a couple of Protocol droids. ( The little ones that carry things, and C-3PO ) Mostly for menial tasks, and annoying people who attempt to bother the character.
