Calder looked at the sled, the pets about him, and then over at Jericho was was talking rather calmly with Jericho. "Why would Jericho set the sled on fire?" He looked at the sled. When was it on fire?!
He was growing more concerned and confused, and then looked up at Barth. "...and what distracted Christof? He knew I was there. I was beside you." He then looked down, patting a puppy, before he thought of something else. "Why did he throw the sled? We were on it."

There was a pause as Riley spoke. Sometimes it was almost easy to forget the scope of her goals, especially with all the chaos that had been going on as of late. But he was still rather aware of it over all.
he thought to her while settling his gaze onto Christof once more.

"You know," Barth said smoothly, "Those are all very good questions. And I hope," He looked at Christof, "They don't all have the same answer. ...Do they?"

"Congrats!" She tried really hard to sound sincere, but it likely came out more confused. Barth, Siddie and Sammy seemed...off about it. Very off. "We'll be okay...you two - err, t-three - be safe, okay?" She waved the ghouls (and Vlad) off, and perked up at the sound of Calder's voice.
"You're awake!" This time she sounded genuine; with what Barth had said, she was worried; she could only hope that he would be okay with the pups and her rainbow jacket. If she had more to say it was forgotten, instead focusing her attention on Christof, who seemed to be looking at her.
"Um..." Define 'hurt', Christof, she wanted to say. She still wasn't sure what this feeling was, but it hurt; it wasn't a good hurt, like the bats in her stomach. "I-I'm okay. A-are...are you okay?" Calder had been run through, Barth was injured, and Christof had his temper, but what else was there?
She fell silent, glancing to the side at both Calder and Barth, and both were seeking answers that she wasn't sure she wanted to hear.

Christof glanced around, suddenly aware of how many eyes were suddenly on him, and his face went various shades of purples and reds. "Am-fine," He signed to Amrita, which seemed like the easiest, quickest response. His ears were burning, even as he tried to ignore Barth's loudly put question. More things had been said, and now suddenly he wished he had been paying closer attention. "All-fine. Could-be-worse. Could-be-lot-worse. Just-fine." He added pointedly before turning to suddenly try to busy himself, gathering up what remained of the scorched supplies in case anyone else wanted a non-snow-soaked scarf or blanket.
Just keep busy and he would be forgotten again. And stop staring at him.

Riley pulled herself up out of the blankets just enough so that her eyes peeked out, staring at Jericho for a moment, before they flickered over at Christof. I have already spoken with him about our contract. I do not believe he openly wishes for it to terminate. If I decide upon such an action, I will have to be far more subtle than simply walking up to him and going 'Hey, you. Are you sick of me yet.'
She snickered, and let the blanket fall slightly, before reaching up and patting Jericho's underbelly, where her mark lay.
Hey. She murmured sarcastically. You. Are YOU sick of me yet?

Calder smiled at Amrita, patting her slender shoulder. She was a sweet ghoul and he regretted not knowing her better. "I'm fine. Just....very tired." And luckily from what Barth was saying, not scorched. he'd been healing enough from burn marks and didn't need more. Then again, with all he had taken, burns probably wouldn't be that much - not that he was wishing for them anytime soon.
Christof still didn't answer them, and pressing his hand on the ghoul's shoulder to wobble up on his hooves, Calder stepped carefully over the puppies. "Christof....." He called out, following the Igor. The patchwork was working on collecting various bits of cloth and supplies that had spilled from the wagon.
Seeing as he was busying himself, Calder followed before moving, though holding his side and not being that quick, in front of the Igor. "Christof, why did you flip the wagon?" First question to address. He had others.

"BECAUSE-NEEDED-FLIPPING" Christof's hand motions were wild and fast, and just barely legible. "Should-move-on, yes-should-find-safe-place!"

Calder jerked back from the wild, frantic signing, before glaring at the Igor. "That's NOT an answer! You knew we were on it! WHY did you just decide to flip it?" Was....Christof lying to him? Probably. The boil tended to not directly answer him - and for once, he wanted DIRECT answers.

"...Thank you," Barth said in response to Amrita's congratulations, reaching to pat the dogs once more as Calder made his way to his feet to unsteadily chase after Christof.
"Hold on, Calder- you shouldn't...be up and about. Amrita, is the sled salvageable, do you think? I do agree we shouldn't hang about here."

Ah yes. A more subtle way would probably be better. Walking up and doing it bluntly would probably make Christof flip more than just sleighs. Well. Maybe. He couldn't be too sure.

"Glad to hear it." She smiled to Calder; tired was okay, tired was still alive, and tired was not pain.
When Christof answered her, Amrita couldn't even sigh in relief to the knowledge he was okay; she could manage a smile though, and merely stood by while Calder asked his questions. Riley had her attention for a moment, pondering heading over to the mindflayer just to give herself something to do. Everyone seemed to have someone; Calder had Barth, Riley had Jericho and Christof, Sammy has Siddie...who did she have? Nobody nearby, that's who. She wanted Lizzy, the Demoness who had stuck with her last time and almost every time since then. The thoughts ended there though, as Barth's voice calling her name made her startle.
"Eh? Oh. Um. W-well...I don't know, it...looks okay? The bottom part doesn't look too bad...a little broken but...passable?" She wasn't good with vehicles, but to her it looked safe enough; a little scorched, somewhat buried, but okay. "It'll at least hold Calder, I...I think." Why was he asking her? She had no idea on this stuff!
"If...If we can make him sit again." She added as an afterthought, staring at the boil in question. "...Little stubborn, innithe?" The Vetala had slid closer to Barth, just to quietly murmur to him.

"I'm sorry." She said with a sincere tone and smile, having witnessed on several occasions Barth's general lack of moving everywhere.
"Calder, come on, this...this isn't the time for that...!" The ghoul was trying really hard to not start complaining; she didn't want to be here anymore. She wanted Lizzy, or her basement room...she even wanted DC! It all boiled down to just wanting all this to go away. "You can rag on him later, lets just...work together for now, okay? We...we need each other. To get somewhere safer." The sled was gestured towards, her fingers still frozen in place from when she had been digging. She didn't know about them, but she didn't want to lose any more of their ragtag little group. "Please?"

Amrita was right. Absolutely. Of course she was right. With one last glance to Riley and Jericho, off in their own little world together waiting for Malodore's return, he pursed his lips and looked straight back to the poor, harassed vetala. With only a small grunt's warning, he quickly emptied his gathered, only partially singed blankets, spreading them out over the large sled before unceremoniously (albeit carefully) lifting Amrita up over his shoulder and set her down, nice and comfy. Just... gather and go. Far away from stupid Christmas things and... and stupid dragons. Anywhere she wanted to.
Once he was sure she had another blanket to at least hide the horrible rainbows staining her dress, he turned to Calder with narrowed eyes and pursed lips expectantly. If Riley was going to be wrapped up in pumpkin patches and dragons, insisting on being fine despite the hole he knew she still carried, then the Kelpie more than likely would handle his Master. And then NO ONE would need him, nor want him. Fine. For the best. He would just take Miss Amrita and go. This seemed absolutely rational, and practical.
