Sir Aiden decided a new tactic. He rushed back a little and then began circling the Solrock. The spinning pokemon was quite a force to be reckoned with and this would take some work. Finally thinking he spotted an opening, he charged once more to get past the Solrock and at the Squirtle to latch on with his jaws in a Bite attack!

Ryuu followed suit except studied the pattern of the Solrock's spinning. The spikes kept going and going and he searched for the opening. Hoping that there was one, he leapt in maw open in a Bite to attack the Squirtle from the other side. !

As had happened to many times before, both the Growlithe and Larvitar's efforts would prove futile, the large stony spires surrounding the Solrock's frame batting the pair away as if they were no more then mere insects. They had yet to make it passed this defense, and it seemed like that trend had every intention of continuing.

When the massive rock-type halted his movements, it would only be to fling himself in the general direction of Ryuu in an unimaginative Tackle. At the same time the Squirtle would toss himself from the Solrock's back, launching himself at Sir Aiden in a Tackle of his own!

Sir Aiden was pushed backward, his attempt at attacking the Squirtle futile. Growling annoyed, he then watched as the water pokemon tossed himself off the Solrock and aimed to Tackle him. The fire dog patiently waited until his opponent was fairly close and then charged, aiming to leap over his opponent and avoid getting hit entirely by jumping over the turtle's head and the pushing off it's shell!

Ryuu missed, pushed backwards by the force of the spike from the spinning Solrock. He stumbled before regaining his footing instead of falling completely. The :Larvitar watched as the sun shaped rock launched towards him. He moved to the right, trying to avoid the attack!

(16 - 8 ) + (10 - 8 ) = 10 DMG

Sir Aiden HP:
4

(8 - 7) + (12 - 10) = 3 /2 = 1.5 (round) 2 DMG

Ryuu HP:
15

Sir Aiden's leap would come up just short, the Squirtle's body colliding into his own in a hammer blow; a fact made worse as the Fire-Type was forced to strike back first into the remains of a burning support beam.

Splitters and ash sailed through the air, and with it the shell of a certain Water-Type. Moments before it would have struck the floor the Pokemon's blue limbs would eject, catching the ground with one hand and somersaulting away from the battered Sir Aiden.

Ryuu would come off luckier then his canine companion, but not without consequence. The stony tips of the Solrock would rip a small gash into the Larvitar's arm as it passed, becoming embedded in the wall a few sparse moments after. Only the Pokemon's own psychic power would be able to pry himself from burning insulation and scorched concrete.

With a run, a skip, and a 8 point dismount, the Squirtle would rejoin his companion, coming to rest upon one of the Solrock's spires on the left side. What would have probably have been the shoulder of most Pokemon that size.

Eyes glowing bright, the Solrock would begin spinning rapidly in place, his lower spires leaving deep gashes in the floorboards. The defense had yet to honestly fail them, and so they foresaw no reason to stop making ample use of it.

Sir Aiden just lay on the ground stunned for a second. He moved slowly, assessing the damage. Luckily nothing was broken, just probably slightly bruised. Rising shakily to his paws, he shook out his coat. He wouldn't let these young uns beat him. As he watched the Solrock begin spinning, he decided to charge at the rock pokemon instead. Take down the rock pokemon a little and then he could manage to defeat the Squirtle with less difficulty. His maw wide open as he lunged to Bite down on one of the Solrock's points!

Ryuu winced slightly. The gash wasn't that deep so he'd be fine. His gaze watched the Solrock's spinning intently. Maybe they couldn't break through that defense. Instead they would have to deal with him directly. Sir Aiden seemed to have the right idea as the fire dog leapt to try and bite down on one of the Solrock's spikes. Ryuu charged forth, aiming to Bite down at the Solrock as well!

As fate would have it however, the two Pokemon would never quite reach their target...or at least not as they had actually intended. Both would find themselves being smacked by the Solrock's spires as if he were merely swatting them away. Sir Aiden would even find his to be somewhat of a back handed slap.

Easily as he had begun the Solrock would slow to a halt, glancing briefly to the Squirtle "Begin dousing this fire, as well as the rock skinned one. I shall snuff our the flame-starter" He declared, once more acting as if he were the trainer in this situation.

Standing up straight, tongue sticking out slightly from the left side of his mouth, the Squirtle would give a sharp salute and utter a lacklustre "Kay." Immediately after he would leap from the Solrock's shoulder, and before he touched the ground water would stream from his mouth, enveloping the underside of his body and propelling him forward. Aqua Jet, a Water-Type move few could match in speed; and this one was aimed straight at Ryuu!

Meanwhile the Solrock would turn to Sir Aiden, his eyes glowing bright purple with psychic power. Abruptly the Pokemon would begin to rise, the scruff of his neck bunching up as if someone were grabbing them. Round and round he'd go as the Solrock began spinning the Fire-Type in circles, or at least attempting to with his psychic power. Confusion...and confusing it certainly was, for what possible purpose could these actions have?

Riku didn't like the way this battle was going. Even with Ryuu's help, Sir Aiden seemed to continue to have bad luck. No one could really help him here. Sighing she returned both pokemon to their respective pokeballs. Before they were sucked in, a green light flooded over them healing the wounds until they were completely gone. She released Ryuu who stood by her side and then held out Sir Aiden's pokeball. He needed to train and she was going to let him try a battle by himself. The rest of her pokemon wouldn't always be able to protect him, he needed to do it himself.

A flashing red light and the fire dog appeared. He glanced around, wondering what his opponent would be this time. So far, he hadn't won many battles, actually to be honest only one. That was pathetic compared to everyone else. The fire pokemon wasn't going to give up, he was a little older then everyone so he just needed to push himself a little harder.

"QUITTER"

That single word would reverberate across the arena as the flames vanished, the bodies of the Solrock and Squirtle shimmering briefly before fading away.

For a few brief moments all would be darkness once more, but it would not last. An orb would appear at the edge, rapidly turning into a horizon as the sun began to rise high overhead. Beneath it's light the world around them would begin to change once again. The sky would turn a bright clear blue, a dotting of clouds to make it slightly overcast. Beneath Riku's feet wooden floorboards would turn to well worn stone. Pillars torn and weathered by time would sprout up all around her amidst the crumbling walls of ruins.

The wind whipped and howled, kicking up small clouds of dust.

Before her locations had been random...underwater...a stage...a burning building...but now she stood somewhere all too real. It was a place of legend, replicated here for her to see. It was the top of the DragonSpiral Tower.

Yet it wasn't some legendary beast from ages past that would greet here....nor a furious reptile with breath of flame...in fact what appeared before her would seem quite out of place.

">What ho! Who goes there?<" A voice, high and clear would call. The slight sound scuffling would be heard, quick heavy steps upon stone. A brown blur would dart briefly between pillars, and suddenly a long shadow would be cast upon the girl.

">Tarry not in this place most ancient! Beasties dangerous and vile still haunt these walls!<" The voice called out loudly to the pair; and then suddenly leaped to the ground!

Small scream coloured paws would hit the ground, wide brown ears falling in the face of the figure as he stood in a fashion most valiant before girl and hound ">Be ye wanderers or fools then leave right quick. All others must deal with me!<"

Sir Aiden stepped forward. Was this serious? Or was this punishment for quitting earlier? Regardless, he decided to take this very seriously. His opponent might not look like much, but it was wise never to judge a book by it's cover. The Growlithe focused on the energy within him before flames burst from his maw. Running through it they covered his coat and he aimed to hit the Buneary with a Flame Charge attack!

">So be it, then allow fate to decide the end!<" The Buneary would declare loudly, his foot stamping the ground once before he took off like a bullet from a gun.

Arms up in something of a crude boxers stance, the Normal-Type's dexterous ears would follow suit, mimicking his short arms perfectly. A rather cute creature, and a tad on the short side, Buneary didn't look like naturally skilled fighters...and left with only their short arms they wouldn't be; but where there was a will to survive, there was a way to survive.

Over generations the species had learned how to utilize their own ears as fists...and any Pokemon whom had been on the receiving end would tell you it packed quite the wallop!

Leaning forward, preparing to duck low and to the left once the Growlithe was in range, the Brave little Buneary went in for a quick jab to the ribs. A pound attack.

[18-12] + [8-8] = 6 DMG

Buneary: 11 HP

Sir Aiden managed to tackle through his opponent successfully that time. The fire dog couldn't afford to lose concentration now. The battle may have been won, but the war was far from over. The Growlithe watched his opponent carefully. Digging his paws into the ground with his claws, he crouched slightly for a second. Calming his mind, he then pushed off with his legs to add an extra burst of speed. Fangs were bared as he aimed to Bite down on his oppponent's arm!

">Thy brain tis fried if thy think I'd be struck twice~!<" The Buneary would cry out as his paws struck hard against the ground, vaulting him backward and away from the Growlithe. It had been a simple enough practice when he'd been coming right at the Fire-Type, but would he truly be able to keep up with him when he sought to evade the hound's attack?

The moment his feet touched stone the Buneary would promptly roll to his left, bringing up his ears in front of himself and holding his arms around himself to shield the squishier parts of his body.

The Buneary had some speed, he had to admit that much. The Growlithe had been charging forward, until he had stumbled mid gait. Shaking his head, he managed to stagger to his feet and avoid falling but it was still a very clumsy attack attempt. Feeling embarrassed, his ears flattened. He couldn't afford to lose this battle especially against a bunny pokemon. Shaking his head slightly, he then turned and began running. The fire dog zigzagged back and forth, never staying in one spot long. If his opponent wanted to finish him then he'd have to catch him first!

There was only two things wrong with the Growlithe's plan. The Buneary was faster, and he knew this place better then the back of his paws. Unlikely the Fire-Type could say the same.

Wheeling his foot once, the Buneary would leap forward, bouncing and ricochetting off the columns, rapidly picking up speed with each successive jump. It wouldn't take long for him to catch up, and when he dropped down to plow both his feet into the Growlithe's spine it was guaranteed to hurt!

...so long as he didn't manage to overshoot the canine.

Luck was with him as his opponent managed to go a little farther then expected. The Buneary slammed into the ground instead and the Growlithe saw a welcome opportunity. While the bunny was trying to regain his balance and such, the fire dog once again focused on the energy within. Flames burst forth and his coat was blazing. A low snarl escaped his throat as he charged. This time, he was aiming to leap over his opponent and then aimed to slam into the Buneary from behind!
